Linda Ikeji, who published a story of a gay Nigerian poet who allegedly opened up about his suicide attempt and overdosed on a dug;”Aspirin", has been dragged across social media platforms over the story.

The pregnant blogger who was accused of being insensitive and all about getting traffic on her blog, reportedly took the post from the alleged gay poet's personal Facebook page where he penned down his thoughts, and published it along side his name and location.

While some Twitter users slammed Linda Ikeji for allowing and approving the comments of social media users who cyber bullied the victim, others expressed their worry over the safety of the alleged gay poet.

Fans of the expectant mother also stated that though they love her, it appears she went a little over the line. On the other hand, her non-fans have moved to call her unprintable names. She is however yet to react to the report. Here are some comments below;

Governor Ambode of Lagos State arrived Russia last night for the World Cup finals between France and Croatia, and one of highlights of his arrival was that he pledged to help send Nigerians stuck in the country home.


Recall that we reported that a Russian NGO alleged that approximately 200 Nigerians are stranded in Moscow and 400 all over Russia. They came during the World Cup games in hopes to find jobs to Moscow, but got disappointed.

Instagram user @iampndgreat who disclosed the promise made by Governor Ambode in his post, wrote;

Not a Political Campaign but just appreciating a good and kind gesture by one of our noble Politicians in Nigeria.

The story goes thus:
I had a pick up arrangement today at the airport in Moscow and had a rare privilege of meeting his excellency, the governor of Lagos State; the most populous and commercial Hub of Nigeria. I quickly introduced myself while I waited for my pick up arrangement to come out. We had a small chat and exchanged knowledge and wisdom while I waited.
He bade me farewell as his pick up arrangement had arrived.
After a few minutes, my pick up arrived as well so we set out to the car park.
As soon as we came out of the airport, I saw a crowd of over 50 Nigerians who had been stranded at the airport for almost 10-15 days now. And in their middle was this same man, His excellency , Governor Ambode. As soon as he sighted me, he quickly called my attention to assist.

It was a pathetic state and a lot of words both pleasant and unpleasant were being exchanged. (Not apportioning blames on anyone )
Then his Excellency did something that amazed me. He showed solidarity and quickly pledged to send all 50 Stranded Nigerians home and assigned me to oversea the transfers and procurement of new tickets to send them home.
As I type this, 19 out of this 50 are already on air to Lagos Nigeria, the remaining 31 are leaving this evening.

His excellency also fed them all as he gave them cash to eat while they waited for their tickets to fly home.
I am only writing this to express my gratitude to a man that has shown that not all politicians are the same.
I am well aware that NFF Officials and some other Senior Government or well to do Nigerians are aware of the situation on ground but are yet to be of help.
Kindly help as much as you can.
Nigeria will only be built or destroyed by Nigerians.
The integrity of our Nation is at stake.
Follow this same example; If you have the well withal.

So many Nigerians are reportedly stranded in Russia, few weeks after Nigeria got knocked out of the World Cup games ongoing in the country.

A Moscow news reporter Miodrag Soric, alleged that these Nigerians came for the World Cup games in Russia with hopes to find jobs to Moscow. However they got nothing and have been left with no other option than to camp at the Nigerian embassy.

Stranded in Moscow. Several hundred Nigerians came during the World Cup in hopes to find jobs to Moscow. 60 of them are now camping in front of the Nigerian Embassy. They would like to fly back home. No one is helping them except a Russian NGO (Alternative).

According to the Russian NGO Alternative approximately 200 Nigerians are stranded in Moscow and 400 all over Russia. Many of them have been scammed into buying tickets for the trip back that turned out to be fake. 60 spend the last night in front of the Nigerian Embassy in Moscow. Meanwhile the embassy promised to accommodate them for two days. But what is going to happen next? Will the embassy bring them home? Without the support of "Alternative" their situation would be desperate.

The New York Fashion Week which took place few days ago, came with a historical achievement and it was made by a 19-year-old Nigerian boy, Taofeek Abijako. 

Taofeek Abijako became the the youngest designer to present a collection at New York Fashion Week: Men’s this year.

The 19-year-old Nigerian designer and founder of the menswear label, started the brand just two years ago with the intent to generate impactful statements through his work. Previous collections entitled, “Cruel Hands” and “Hooligans,” consisted of apparel with these thought-provoking statements: “Disorder: In Mutiny We Trust” and “Palaver Child.”

“I approach Head of State+ as less of a brand and more of a case study. It’s me digging into my cultural upbringing while trying to have a firm grasp and understanding of it. My belief is furthering a philosophy of thoughtful, inconspicuous, and honest design across the board," the Nigerian-born designer shared with the CFDA.

According to CFDA, his label “pays homage to his past by celebrating his West African culture through a contemporary perspective, or, as he Abijako puts it, ‘minimalist streetwear approach with social and political commentary.’”

“My dad was a trained fashion designer while living in Nigeria and dealt mostly with local traditional garments. Growing up in an environment like that sparked my curiosity in design,” Taofeek said.

When asked about his inspiration for the street wear brand’s upcoming “Genesis” collection, he shared that it’ll portray “the vibrancy of West African youth culture in the ‘70s and Fela Kuti." The new collection is guaranteed to be groundbreaking in design and social impact.

The menswear label will be debuting its Spring/Summer ’19 collection at Men’s New York Fashion Week.


Abijako was still a senior at Albany High School when he released the look book for his first collection on his Twitter feed. A few weeks later, when an email from a buyer for the Japanese luxury retailer United Arrows arrived, he assumed it was a prank perpetrated by friends. The buyer asked to visit his studio; since Abijako was working out of his childhood bedroom, he demurred, and instead they met in Manhattan.

Juliet Mgborukwe who announced that has filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Chima Ojukwu amidst allegations of domestic abuse, has been accused of being the violent one as a new video has emerged.

Imo Deputy Governor Prince Eze Madumere, might be leaving his seat for a new person as the impeachment proceedings against him is reportedly ongoing now at the Imo State House of Assembly.


Prince Eze Madumere's impeachment came up after 13 lawmakers signed a petition against him. The petition was read today by the deputy speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo. The royal family which includes the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, Duke ad Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, arrived minutes ago at the Chapel Royal in St. James’s Palace in London, for the christening of 11-week-old son Prince Louis.


Prince Louis was asleep in his mother's arm when the royal family arrived. While Kate was elegant in a cream suit dress from Alexander McQueen (her wedding dress designer!) and a matching headpiece from Jane Taylor, Prince William held the hands of their other children as Princess Charlotte looked slightly quizzical at the Archbishop who bent down to welcome her.

Like his siblings, Louis’ christening will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, who christened George in October 2013 and Charlotte in July 2015 — and most recently officiated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding.

Meghan Markle on the other hand, chose an olive green dress by Ralph Lauren for the occasion. The entire Middleton family was there, including Pippa, who wore a baby blue dress. The royal parents chose two hymns for the ceremony: O Jesus, I Have Promised and Lord of All Hopefulness. Godparents Lucy Middleton and Guy Pelly will each do a reading.

Will and Kate also chose the anthems, “This is the day which the Lord hath made (John Rutter)” and “Suo Gân,” a traditional Welsh Lullaby (Gareth Wilson), which will be performed by The Choir of Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal.

William and Kate welcomed their third child on April 23. Just days later, they revealed his name, Prince Louis Arthur Charles, which is a nod to family members. Not only is it one of his dad’s middle names, it’s also a nod to Louis Mountbatten, Prince Louis’s great-grandpa Prince Philip’s uncle, who was a father figure for Charles and was assassinated in 1979. Arthur is one of William and Charles’s middle names, while Charles, of course, is his grandpa’s name.

Kemi Olunloyo who was recently in the news after she disclosed that she has converted to Islam, few months after she testified at Salvation Ministries in Port-Harcourt, has called out online news publication, Premium Times, who she claimed will be dragged to court in a N5billion defamation lawsuit.

Kemi Olunloyo in a video she shared on Twitter, accused Premium Times of igniting a fight between her and her father, which according to her, made them not to talk for two years. The journalist also stated that her father who the news publication claimed disowned her, never granted them an interview.

The Second Republic governor of old Oyo State, Omololu Olunloyo, has denounced his daughter, Kemi Omololu Olunloyo, for directing verbal attacks at him and other notable individuals.

The former leader also revealed in a heart-breaking statement Thursday that Kemi, 52, had a history of mental illness and several efforts by the family and other well-wishers to moderate her erratic behaviour have been fruitless.

Describing statements credited to his daughter as “utterly irresponsible”, “libellous” and “repeatedly painful”, the octogenarian apologised to everyone who had been attacked by his daughter.

“I would like to apologise without reservation to all persons affected. I hope and pray they would graciously accept the apology,” he wrote.

Mr. Olunloyo, who was a governor under the banner of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN), said even her family is not safe from Kemi’s public attacks. He specifically mentioned and apologised for Kemi’s attack on former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, the General Oversea of Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo, and the founder of the Synagogue Church of all Nations, Temitope Joshua.

He also denounced her attack on foremost Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, who Kemi had called a ritualist after the recent demise of his third wife.

“There seems to be a curious pair of writers, an Aboderin resident in Ireland and Kemi Olunloyo, who sometimes curiously act separately and sometimes in union. Some of their most unfortunate victims are their half siblings.

“Others of higher status in the society (like) ex-president Obasanjo and quite recently, clergy men with large respectable following, such as the General Oversea of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye, a brilliant fellow mathematician, an inspired Bishop Oyedepo, the inimitable Reverend T.B Joshua, all learned men.

“She includes me, her father. All four of us she dubs ritualists. Of course, none of us, as far as I know, is anything of sort. She has gone so far as to accuse us of various sexual crimes and gone too far to give social media itself a very dubious name, in term of uncontrolled freedom to assault others,” the frmer governor, a mathematician, said.

Mr. Ololunyo said Kemi’s “erratic” behaviour had put her in trouble in Ireland and in the United States, and the late Ooni of Ife, Okunade Sijuwade, once bailed her out of jail.

“Of Late, in the last four weeks or so, she had had the audacity to pass irrelevant and hopeless comments on one of our national talented artists, prince Jide Kosoko, whom I admire so much, calling him a black widower as he has unfortunately lost three wives.

“I had thought at 52, Kemi Olunloyo will further train her mind and cease to be an embarrassment to herself and member of her nuclear, extended family and to the general public. I thank pastors and psychiatrists like Dr. Lasebikan, who had gone to great lengths at their own personal cost to restrain her from excesses and recklessness. I dissociate myself entirely form her conducts and statements.

“She must accept responsibility for her actions and utterances as well as the consequences. My condemnation is total and not in any instance defensible. My position is absolutely clear. She has gone too far and needlessly so,” he wrote.

Scientists have announced that a candidate AIDS vaccine which triggered an immune response in humans and shielded monkeys from infection, has passed its key early test.


The AIDS vaccine which is an output of a 40-year quest for an AIDS cure, proved to be safe in humans and has now advanced to the next phase of the pre-approval trial process. It will now be tested in 2,600 women in southern Africa to see whether it prevents HIV infection.

Though the trials so far has been encouraging, the research team and outside experts warn there are no guarantees it will actually work in the next trial phase dubbed HVTN705 or “Imbokodo” — the isiZulu word for “rock”.

“Although these data are promising, we need to remain cautious,” study leader Dan Barouch, a Harvard Medical School professor, told AFP.

Just because it protected two-thirds of monkeys in a lab trial doesn’t mean the drug will protect humans, “and thus we need to await the results of the… study before we know whether or not this vaccine will protect humans against HIV infection,” he said.

The team also disclosed that the results of the Imbokodo trial are expected in 2021/22.

“This is only the fifth HIV vaccine concept that will be tested for efficacy in humans in the 35+ year history of the global HIV epidemic,” added Barouch.

Only one so far, RV144, yielded some protection. RV144 was reported in 2009 to reduce the risk of HIV infection among 16,000 Thai volunteers by 31.2 percent — deemed insufficient for the drug to be pursued.

For the latest study, published in The Lancet medical journal, Barouch and a team tested the candidate drug on 393 healthy, HIV-free adults aged 18 to 50 in east Africa, South Africa, Thailand, and the United States. The participants were randomly given one of seven vaccine combinations or a placebo “dummy” alternative. They received four shots each over 48 weeks.

The study used so-called “mosaic” vaccine combinations. These combine pieces of different HIV virus types to elicit an immune response — when the body attacks intruder germs — against virus strains from different regions of the world.

The vaccine “induced robust (high levels of) immune responses in humans,” said Barouch. The tests also showed the vaccine was safe. Five participants reported side-effects such as stomach pain and diarrhoea, dizziness, or back pain.

In a separate study, the same vaccine offered complete protection from infection in two-thirds of 72 trial monkeys each given six injections with an HIV-like virus.

An estimated 37 million people live with HIV/AIDS, according to the World Health Organization. There are about 1.8 million new infections and a million deaths every year. Almost 80 million people are estimated to have been infected since the virus was first diagnosed in the early 1980s. About 35 million have died.

A 94-year-old man from Baringo County in Kenya, identified as William Chesang alias Dr Kahawa who disclosed that it has always been his childhood dream to undergo the Christian ritual of baptism, got his wish on Friday, July 5, as he was baptized with 5,000 litres of boiled water. 
The peculiar baptism for the nonagenarian was conducted by Ossen AIC church, and in photos shared, Chesang could be seen seated calmly beside the pool as he awaited for the water to get warm so that he could finally be baptized. 
According to Reverend Elijah Katya who presided over the baptism, they were forced to heat the water for baptism due to cold weather and the age of the frail old man, and it took them at least two hours to boil the more than 5,000 liters of water using firewood and electric heaters. 

It was a spectacular moment as the elderly man's face lit with joy as he received a new name, William, after the baptism process was over. Chesang's daughter, Lilian Ruto, expressed happiness that her father was baptized as it was his wish for a long time.

Inspector Benjamin Peters, the policeman who killed a corps member identified as Linda Nkechi Igwetu, a day to her passing out parade in Abuja, has been dismissed from the Force.

Confirming that the errant cop is “on remand awaiting commencement of trial", the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory, Sadiq Bello, told newsmen that Peters should not have shot at the car, adding that his claim that the corps member was shouting for help was not sufficient ground to fire his weapon.

Miss Igwetu, who was allegedly shot in the early hours of Wednesday around Ceddi Plaza by a police officer, was rushed to the Garki Hospital where she died. The Police Command said that the command would not condone act of irresponsibility and incivility or outright criminality on the part of officers and men.

“He (suspect) has been dismissed from the force and arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction and he is currently on remand awaiting trial,” he said.

“It was alleged that the lady, one Angela Igwetu stood up and brought out her head through the sun roof of a Toyota Camry car shouting and calling for help that she was kidnapped,” he said.

“They have always been admonished to be civil to members of the public and be professional in the conduct of their duties,” he said.

The police commissioner who reassured residents of the territory to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation or harassment as their peace and security were guaranteed at all times, appealed for calm and understanding from members of the public and family of the deceased as justice would prevail in the matter.

“Furthermore, I wish to reassure residents of FCT that they should go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation or harassment, their peace and security is guaranteed at all times,” he said.

The Kasoa Police in Ghana have arrested a 36-year-old teacher of Janine Happy Quashie Home International School identified as Isaac Bentum, for impregnating two Junior High School (JHS) students from the same parents.

Local media Citi Newsroom reported that the impregnated students are in JHS 2 and 3 respectively in the same school at Senya Beraku in Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

Confirming the incident, the Uncle of the two sisters, Mr. Barnabas Abban, told newsmen that the teacher who lured the girls with the promise of helping them to pass their final year examination, defiled the final year JHS 3 pupil, and impregnated her, and did the same a month later to the younger sister.

According to him, the teacher's arrest came after he reported the matter to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit Department of the Kasoa Divisional Police Command.  ASP Florence Annaman, the Kasoa Divisional Commander of DOVVSU, also confirmed the incident in an interview with Ghana News Agency, as he noted that the accused was yet to be processed for court.

Vincent Otoo,an assistant headmaster of St. Francis Senior High Technical at Akim Oda was also in the news some months ago after he impregnated a 16-year-old student of the aforementioned citadel.

The student identified as Abigail was 7 months pregnant at the time of the report, however, the authorities in the school tried their possible best to silence the development. Close sources to Abigail and Mr.Vincent Otoo alleged that in an attempt to cover up issues, a tutor in the school identified Elder Obenu led a delegation to the parents of Abigail, the pregnant student of St. Francis Senior High Technical School, basically to lure the parents to cease-fire.

Although, the parents never accepted the request of the school authorities to settle the case home.

Earlier today, we reported that Big Brother Naija ex-housemates, Alex and Nina might be embroiled in a behind the scene fight, which got blown over following Alex's response to a troll comment. 

Recall that we reported that it all started when a follower commented saying Alex copied Nina who got a henna about one week ago. Well Alex didn't find it funny, hence slammed the follower. Nigerian reality show, Khloe, who was mocked by trolls shortly after Cee-C had a date with Leo over the weekend, has issued a blunt statement addressing the controversy.

A funny twist of event has Mr Collins Ugwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Prisons being arrested by the Enugu State Police command, over his alleged involvement in armed robbery.

The Deputy Superintendent of Prisons who works at the headquarters of the Nigeria Prisons Service, was arrested in Enugu on June 26 alongside suspected accomplices, Ifeanyi Ozor, a native of Enugu State who is also resident in Abuja; and Smart Osetu from Oguta in Imo State.

Parading the suspects, Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Danmallam, who spoke to newsmen disclosed that  Ugwu and his colleagues were apprehended after the police gathered intelligence information on their activities. According to him, the suspects were arrested on charges bordering on armed robbery, conspiracy, malicious damage, stealing and ‘obtaining by tricks.’

The Police Boss added that Senior Prison official from Ezza in Ebonyi State, who resides in Abuja stays around the premises of commercial banks to monitor prospective victims who had come to withdraw money, alongside members of his gang.

“The suspects (Ugwu, Ozor and Osetu) belong to a syndicate that specialises in monitoring anyone that has gone to bank to make withdrawals and trail them to a point where they can smartly force the door or the windscreen (of the victims’ car) open with their instrument and steal the said amount.

“They are also part of a syndicate that buys goods from traders and generate fake payment alert to the owner of the goods without him knowing.

“They were nabbed along Ogui Road, Enugu by the operatives of the Enugu State Police Command on June 26, 2018, following intelligence information gathered concerning their nefarious activities" Danmallam said.

A  Golf car with registration number Abuja RBC 220 KF, and a broken plug which they allegedly use in “scratching down” the window of the car to steal from their victims, was also recovered from the suspects.

Ugwu however refused to respond to questions from newsmen, as he bowed his head to prevent journalists from taking pictures of his face.

The family of 14-year-old Bilikisu Oseni have been agony, after the Lagos schoolgirl reportedly left her mother's shop with her boyfriend, identified only as Wahis, on Sunday, June 24, 2018. 

Fausatu Oseni, mother of the Lagos Schoolgirl who spoke to newsmen disclosed that she was in Ogun State for a family event, when she got the report that her daughter followed the suspect. According to her, Wahis, a motor boy, had reportedly taken the victim to his apartment on Igbosoro Road, Ikorodu, but the Senior Secondary School one pupil had yet to be seen since then.

“Last Friday, I travelled to Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, for a family function. On Sunday, a customer called me that she wanted to grind pepper and buy some other things at my shop in Odogunyan.

“I told my younger sister, who was watching over my children, to call Bilikisu to open the shop and sell the goods to the customer. About 30 minutes after the customer left, I called my sister again on the telephone and asked if my daughter had closed the shop, but she said no. I asked to speak with her on the telephone and ordered her to close the shop and go to church.

 “When I called back later, she told me she was still packing the goods. I felt uneasy where I was and told my host that I needed to leave immediately to look after my children" she said.

She further disclosed that she was surprise to arrive home in the evening, and didn't see her daughter at home.

“I raised a search party and we went round the area without seeing my daughter. After the fruitless search, we were advised to report to the police at the Orofo Police Station, which we did on Monday.

 “We got the telephone number of Wahis from one of his friends and when we called him, he denied knowing Bilikisu’s whereabouts. I do not know his relationship with my daughter.

 “My telephone battery was low and I went to charge it in a shop when I ran into him. I asked him to produce my daughter, but he fled the shop with the assistance of his friends,” she added.

The mother of the missing Lagos schoolgirl, stated that she got support from her sister and husband and trailed the suspect to another place where he was relaxing. However Wahis, once again, fled.

“My sister ran after him, shouting ‘thief, thief,’ but nobody helped us to apprehend him. We then reported at the Shagamu Road Police Station and two policewomen followed us to his workplace where he was eventually arrested,” she added.

The suspect was however granted bail, after his relatives promised that he would produce Bilikisu. Attached to the bail was also a seven day ultimatum to return the Lagos schoolgirl to her parents.

Wahis who also spoke to Punch, disclosed that he had lost his peace since the incident happened, adding that he did not know his lover’s whereabouts. 

“On Sunday, I went to pick her from the shop on a motorcycle. I took her to know my new apartment on Igbosoro Road.

“As she got to my place, I got a call that her mother had started complaining and was looking for her. I put her on a motorcycle to return to her mother; I never knew she did not get home. If I had known this would happen, I would have asked her to wait a little at my place or take her to their house myself.

“Some people said they sighted her at Agodo around 1pm. One of her friends, Gloria, told me that she made mention of a boyfriend who stayed alone in the Odogunyan area. I believe she is afraid that her mother will beat her up and she went to stay with the boyfriend. She must be around Odogunyan.

“We started dating in January 2018. The police have given me till Wednesday to produce her and I don’t know where else to go. My mother has cried endlessly over this. I have suffered seriously, including police torture. I have spent a lot of money to look for her. I can’t eat or sleep.”

According to Twitter user @olufisiayomi whose aim for the tweet is to know what the implications for this 'black market' deal is for Nigeria and what gives the right for this, he has already confirmed that the PVCs are indeed sold on popularly Chinese online store 'Alibaba'.

A Nigerian lady who was handed her expulsion letter from Federal University Lokoja few days ago, has narrated what really led to the incident on Twitter. 


According to the lady who disclosed that she is an orphan, her journey to getting expelled started after an examination leakage where some students were alleged to have bought questions from a driver.

Twitter user @yoitslegit who shared the story on behalf of the Federal University Lokoja student identified as Lydia Lawal, wrote;

My name is Lydia Lawal, I studied Economics at Federal University lokoja. After 4 years of blood and sweat my university handed me an expulsion letter unjustly. Please I want all well meaning Nigerians to help share my story till we get justice.

I gained admission to Federal University lokoja in 2013, as an orphan I had to work in Lagos during the long vacations to pay my school fees. And from my first semester to 400 level first semester I was on second class upper with a 4 point cgpa.

The issue that led to the expulsion of 13 students in my class started during my final exams when there was an alleged examination leakage where some students were said to have bought questions from a driver.

I happened to be the departmental president at the time of the crises and I was called by my head of department to answer some with less than a week's notice. The university management refused to release the result of the new exam, refused to convok my department with others and didn't mobilize us for NYSC.

I was shocked that after almost 9months the university management called 13 of us which includes the best student in my class with a cgpa of 4.9 to come and pick up an expulsion letter, and our names pasted all over the school as expelled students.

The Vice chancellor claims that as long as you were invited to the exam malpractice committee, then it's enough reason to believe one is involved.Please I am asking for an human right activist to take up our case. Please I cannot afford the services of a lawyer. Please don't let this injustice be swept under carpet , we believe they are playing politics with our lives

Since the beginning of 2018, 1,814 Nigerians have been killed across 17 states in Nigeria, a figure that is already more than double the 894 that was recorded in the whole of 2017 according to Amnesty International, a human rights group.

According to the group, the deaths were usually as a result of farmers-herders conflicts, Boko Haram attacks and armed banditry. The statement signed by Osai Ojigho, the Director of its Nigeria office, disclosed that the failure of the government to hold people accountable contributed to the increased death of Nigerians in the country.

“We are gravely concerned about the rising spate of killings across the country, especially the communal clashes between farmers and herders and attacks by bandits across at least 17 states," Ojigho said.

“The authorities have a responsibility to protect lives and properties, but they are clearly not doing enough — going by what is happening.

“The latest incidents in Plateau State, where armed gunmen attacked 11 villages on June 23 for at least seven hours and killed at least 200 villagers without intervention from security forces, should be investigated.”

The group also reacted to the recent killings in Plateau State which they condemned, and faulted the security measures of the government. AI urged the government, to arrest and prosecute anyone found culpable in the brutal attack that claimed over 200 lives in the state.

Ojigho said: “We hope that President Buhari’s commitment to bringing those suspected to be criminally responsible for the killings in Plateau State to justice will break the impunity that has spread through the country.

“In addition, government must answer these questions: who are these attackers, where do they come from, where do they go after attacks, who arms them, why is security forces’ response time very slow?

“Making arrests and bringing to justice those suspected to be responsible for these attacks is crucial in ending the killings that are gradually turning into almost a daily occurrence. In many instances, these killings happen and no arrests take place.”

Following the massacre which occurred in Plateau State over the weekend, it has been gathered that a Muslim cleric reportedly hid over 200 people, including Christians, inside a mosque to avoid getting killed.

The Muslim cleric whose identity was not disclosed, reportedly saw people fleeing Birkin Ladi Local Government Area where part of the killings took place, and according to BBC Pidgin, he rendered them assistance by offering a mosque in Nghar Yelwa, his village, as a place of refuge. The imam was said to have hid the women in his house, before taking the men to the mosque.

“I first took the women to my personal house to hide them there,  then, I took the men to the mosque to hide, ” the imam reportedly said. After hiding them,  some armed men reportedly approached the imam, asking him to identify the Christians among the people. He was said to have lied that they were all Muslims.

According to the report, he laid on the floor, begging the armed men to leave. One of the survivors of the attack lamented the death of his son.

Another man expressed sadness over how more than 60 victims were buried in a mass grave. Look at how they are buried. Where do we run to?  We were born here and we grew up here but they want us to leave. To where?” he cried.

This report is coming after a Muslim group, Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) alleged the killings were  “orchestrated with political and religious mindsets,” just as it condemned the killing of scores of citizens in three local government areas of Plateau State between Saturday and Sunday. The Sultan of Sokoto is president general of the JNI and the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, an umbrella body of all Nigerian Muslims.

The Secretary General, Dr. Khalid Abubakar-Aliyu, in a statement on behalf of the Sultan, described the incident as “sad,” after three years of unbroken peaceful co-existence in Plateau.

“We also advise that serious security measures should be taken on all the identified villages that have been notorious in causing distress to motorists, particularly in Kaduna and Plateau states.”

In his Instagram post, Uti Nwachukwu stated clearly the creators of the Instagram app didn't have 'begging' in mind, when building the app. According to him, everyone have their own wants, needs and family members and loved ones to take care of. 

His post reads;

It’s official, Cardi B has confirmed via Twitter that she is a married woman. Her message to her haters is “At least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock.”

This is coming after TMZ reported that Offset who has been known to refer to Cardi B as his wife, wasn't just using the word loosely. According to the report, they aren't just engaged but are legally married. As a matter of fact, they've been for months.

Recall that when Migos won Best Group Sunday at the BET Awards, Offset said excitedly: "I thank my wife. You should thank yours."  Are they or aren’t they married? That’s the question many are asking themselves this Monday, after rapper Offset referred to his girlfriend/future baby mama, Cardi B, as his “wife” during Sunday night’s BET Awards.

Following the confusing statement, TMZ unearthed a marriage certificate in Fulton County, GA on Sept. 20, 2017. The certificate looked legit and has both of their names on it.

Cardi B who confirmed the report in her tweet, gave her reason for keeping her marriage a secret. According to her, she named her last album “Invasion of privacy” 'cause people will do the most to be nosey about your life'.

Recall that Offset very publicly proposed to Cardi on October 27, over a month after the marriage date on the certificate. The rapper was spotted in a video (by crowds of fans) getting down on one knee and surprising his girlfriend on stage, in the middle of Power 99's Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia.

Cardi seemed pretty surprised at the time (if her onstage squealing and hair-flipping gave anything away), and she went on to fawn over her new rock on social media.

“OK guys I know I keep posting about this day but I just can’t believe it. I keep replaying it in my head. I keep smiling every minute. I should have known something was up since this n**** keep telling me to go get my nails done ," she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post, according to People.
