The grave where missing General Alkali was buried after he was killed, has been discovered by the Nigerian Army. 



According to the information provided by some of the arrested suspects, the body of missing General Alkali was exhumed and reburied somewhere else. It was gathered that the shallow grave was confirmed by four independent sources in the community and also by sniffer dogs. There is reportedly a distance of one kilometre between the main road and the location of the grave.

The Village Head of Dura-Du District in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, Yakubu Rapp (52); Youth Leader of the community, Matthew Rwang (aka Amesco, 27); and a tipper driver, Timothy Chuwang (26) have also voluntarily surrendered themselves to the Plateau State Police Command in Jos.

This came after they were declared wanted by the police over the disappearance of an Army General, Mohammed Idris Alkali (retd). 

“The three suspects voluntarily surrendered themselves to the police. If the police detain them, it will be difficult to get the others. But if they are granted bail, be assured that they will all appear before the police by next week,” the source stated.

The suspects were accompanied by the lawyer representing the community, Matthew Godfree. This is coming after three cars were recovered from a mining pond in the Dura–Du District during a cordon and search operation conducted by a team of soldiers, led by the Garrison Commander of 3 Armour Division, Brig. Gen. Umar Mohammed.

Nigeria's Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, who was conferred with multiple honours on Thursday, is now a U.S Citizen.

Ibe Kachikwu who was conferred with honorary doctorate degree by the Trinity International University of Ambassadors, and Keys to the State of South Carolina and City of Stonecrest, State of Georgia, was made an honorary citizenship of the State of Georgia in the U.S.

Kachikwu who was eulogized by Senatorial and Legislative hosts, the Black Caucus of the State Legislature, was praised for his “unimpeachable” reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness and kindness.

Thanking the state of Georgia for the honours, Ibe Kachikwu said he was “extremely humbled” and dedicated the honours to President Muhammadu Buhari. NAN reported that he said;

“Usually I don’t lack words but today, I think I do by the happenstance of today. I think the award is fantastic but what I think is more important is the symbolism of the awards.

“I thank President Muhammadu Buhari who gave me the opportunity to serve in various capacities that are bringing some of these awards today" he said.

18 corps members reportedly lost their lives in accident which occurred at Mowe, which occurred while on their way to Lagos from Kaduna.

Nigeria's Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, who spoke at the 24th Nigerian Economic Summit organized by the Ministry of Budget & National Plannng at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja on Monday 22, October 2018, stated that the Abuja rail can’t run faster than 90km/h because the end game will be killing cows.

According to Rotimi Amaechi, his ministry does not want the trains killing cows that pass through the Abuja rail while seeking pastures to graze on. The transport Minister who maintained that Nigeria has more than enough to transport via rail before stating restrictions caused by cows, also highlighted other local problems being faced by the Nigerian railway system.

“The reason why we wat to go back to narrow gauge is because between Lagos and Kano, we have 30 million tonnes of cargo. Even if you do three rail lines, it cannot be enough. It took us 14 days to move coaches from Lagos to Abuja; everyday we go and ask, how far, they say we are near Ogun state… 14 days. But if it were rail, the same day, it will get to Abuja. The kind of construction we are doing is 120 kilometres per hour (Km/h), it is a speed train.

“We are doing 90km/h with Abuja to Kaduna. The reason we are doing 90km/h is because there are cows everywhere, and we don’t want to kill cows. The other day they tried 100 and they killed how many cows, and they said ‘you people should replace the cows you killed. From that day, I have said let us maintain the 90km/h; at 120km/h you get to Kaduna in one hour. You can work in Kaduna and live in Abuja. It was initially one, but now, we have done four locomotives with 14 coaches'' he said

A Nigerian woman, Mrs Bibiana Linus Onyeulo, whose marriage to her husband Mr Linus Uzodinma Chibuzo Onyeulo, got annulled without her consent has cried out as her husband who began planning a wedding with another woman, got married again today.

The lady who reported the incident to the parish priest of All Saints Catholic Church, Avutu Obowu in Imo state and Catholic Bishop of Okigwe diocese, Most Rev. Dr Solomon A Amatu, was asked to get a copy of the annulment letter her husband obtained from the Vicar of Okigwe diocese, Rev. Fr. Michael Agbayi, by Rev. Amatu.

However while still trying to get the letter of annulment, her husband who planned a wedding in Lagos on October 20, 2018, got married to another woman at their home town on Sunday, October 14, in the Catholic Church. The couple was joined by the parish priest of All Saint’s Catholic Church, Avutu Obowu, Imo state.

When she reported the new development to the Bishop of Okigwe diocese, was also asked to get the letter of annulment which Vicar of Okigwe diocese refused to give her, until he gets a confirmation from the Bishop of Okigwe.

She however made a headway in her quest, as the Vicar who agreed to send the letter to the Bishop asked her to return on October 23, 2018.  The Nigerian lady further wrote a letter to the parish priest of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church Ladipo, Oshodi, Lagos State, stating that her husband shouldn't be joined in holy matrimony to the lady as they've not ended their marriage properly.

Her letter read in part:

I simply request that my husband's wedding should be stopped until I get to the root of his conspiracy and also get an appeal, along with a fair hearing from the bishop and judicial Vicar of Okigwe diocese because if this wedding continues, it means this would be his third wedding in catholic church (One to me the genuine wife and twice the second wife).

It was however gathered that the wedding went on today, Saturday, October 20, 2018 in spite of her letter.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo who was a guest of a programme titled, “The Talk,” which was aired on a YouTube Channel, “Voice of the People", disclosed that he doesn't know Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's position in the APC. 

Obasanjo who was asked to identify the designations of certain political figures in the country,  identified Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as the President and Vice President respectively, while he also identified Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President.

Nollywood veteran actor, Akin Lewis who made his movie debut in the 70s has disclosed why his marriages in the past ended. In his chat with The Sun, Akin Lewis stated that his two marriages ended because his ex-wives were greedy and didn't understand their roles as wives. Here are excerpts from the interview below;

Have you ever been fingered in any sexual scandal, since your career started?

None whatsoever, from either young or old. I don’t do that. I am not that kind of a person. It doesn’t get to my work. I have never been in any scandalous act.

You have been married twice and both marriages failed. Why didn’t any of your two marriages work out?

You will probably need to ask the women but I think they were just being greedy, they didn’t understand their roles as wives. But if there are other reasons, they will have to explain themselves. That’s what I can say about that. I think they were selfish; they wanted it all and do not understand what it means to be married to somebody like me.

As the man here, don’t you feel any sense of guilt that you probably didn’t manage the relationships well?

No! See, we all make mistakes because we are not perfect, but my people say that cutting off the head is not the cure for headache. That is why I said they were selfish; they wanted it all without thinking of the implications it would have on family. In management, we usually say that you make the error of judgment in employing someone. That is probably what happened. The error of judgment was mine.

What would you like to change about your past, if you have your way?

Still about those marriages, I want them deleted. Yeah, I would like them deleted because it is not funny when you give someone all you have and they take it for granted.

A monarch in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Augustine Amadionu was reportedly killed alongside two others, by gunmen suspected to be cultists who invaded Elibrada community. 

According to eye witnesses, after the monarch was killed, the two persons including one Wayagbo Amadi were beheaded after they were shot dead by their assailants who struck at about noon on Monday.

A resident of the community who pleaded anonymity, said the hoodlums went for their targets and left immediately after the deed was done. According to him, the monarch was murdered in his palace, while the two other persons were killed within their community and close to their houses.
“The cult boys entered our community yesterday (Monday) around noon and killed our royal highness.

“The boys also killed one other person, Wayagbo. They removed his head.

“We also heard that they had killed somebody at Oduoha before they came into our community.

“At the moment, there is fear everywhere in the community.

“People are living in fear. Some are even out of the community, although the police have come, people are still living in fear,” the source said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni who confirmed the incident described the killings as unfortunate, and further disclosed that security operatives had since been deployed in the area to restore law and order.

He attributed the increased level of killings in the area to the regrouping of cult gangs from one community in Emohua, and pleaded for any information that might lead to the arrest of the gunmen.

Biance Ojukwu, the widow of late Biafran warlord, Odumegwu Ojukwu, has reacted to her loss at the APGA primaries which she described as horrible.

Bianca Ojukwu who released a statement over the primaries, stated that APGA will suffer the repercussions of conducting skewed primaries against her and other founding members of the party. 

Ojukwu's widow, who recounted her ordeal at the APGA senatorial primary in the Anambra South district where she lost to Mr Nicholas Ukachukwu, appealed to APGA members not to quit the party, saying that was not the solution to the problem.

A Federal Capital Territory, FCT Cop, Olusola Jolaosho has been dismissed for the police command for obtaining N1.5m under false pretences. 

The FCT cop was dismissed when a complainant, whose identity was withheld, stated that he met Jolaosho at an auction at Life Camp, adding that the cop promised to assist him in getting a suitable car but failed to deliver the vehicle after collecting money from him. It was gathered that Jolaosho had posed as an auctioneer and obtained the said amount for a Toyota Corolla from an Abuja resident.

“Sometime in March/April 2016, he (Jolaosho) called to let me know that some vehicles were up for sale. I went to the court to inspect those vehicles but only found one suitable.

“The vehicle which I found suitable was a Toyota Corolla with Registration number RSH 652TA. He told me that he would assist me in processing the vehicle. He subsequently went to the high court in Maitama and obtained the price of the car as N1.2m.

“He asked me to send N100,000 to his account in the name of Jolaosho Olusola with account number 2709247013. This, he said, was to enable him to process the documentations and pay the necessary fees. I sent the N100,000 as he demanded. He later asked for an additional N200,000.”


Punch reported that the dismissed FCT Cop demanded N900,000, which he said was the value of the vehicle. Abayomi Shogunle, the Head, Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit told newsmen that  the errant policeman was dismissed after an orderly room trial.

Boko Haram insurgents have fulfilled their threats of executing another aid worker, to keep Leah Sharibu as a slave for life.

The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a faction of Boko Haram, executed Hauwa Leman, an aid worker with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and this was confirmed in a short clip seen by a special correspondent of TheCable.

The executed aid worker, was forced to kneel down, with her hands tied inside a white hijab which has a crest symbol, and then shot at a close range. Leman, a 24-year-old nurse was a student of health education at the University of Maiduguri and she was abducted in the attack, that left four soldiers, four policemen and three humanitarian aid workers dead.

Confirming the execution of the aid worker, ISWAP said;

 “We have kept our word exactly as we said, by killing another humanitarian worker, Hauwa Leman, who is working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) that were abducted during a raid on a military facility in Rann, Kala Balge in March 2018.

“Saifura and Hauwa were killed because they are considered as Murtads (apostates) by the group because they were once Muslims that have abandoned their Islam, the moment they chose to work with the Red Cross, and for us, there is no difference between Red Cross and UNICEF.

“If we see them, we will kill the apostates among them, men or women, and chose to kill or keep the infidels as slaves, men or women.”

Nigerian comedian, Bovi, who 'might be opening a church soon' because of the anointing on him, took to Instagram to share the fate of girls who avoided the bouquet in weddings he hosted.

According to Bovi who disclosed he has hosted 53 weddings since starting off in 2006, every girl who avoided the tossing of the bouquet, have remained single till date and will remain that way till 2042.  He added that none of the marriages he hosted, has ended.

An 18-year-old robbery suspect who stole a motorcycle for his girlfriend's upkeep, has been arrested by the Niger State Police Command. 

The suspect Sharif Audu who stole the motorcycle from one Yakubu Ndanusa, admitted to stealing a Bajaj motorcycle in order to raise money for his girlfriend’s upkeep. Sharif who is jobless, was always seen loitering around Honey Bell Hotel in Minna.

Speaking to Punch's correspondent, he said; 

 “The desire to satisfy the needs of my girlfriend made me steal the motorcycle. I don’t want to say no to her and that is why I can do anything to make her happy, no matter what.

A former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, on Sunday, emerged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria.

He polled 3,564,262 votes to beat Dr Imuetinyan Igbinnosa and Chief Isiaka Olorunnimbe, who scored 2,183,856 and 1,400,755 votes, respectively.

The Chairman of the Presidential Primary Elections Committee and Ekiti PPN Chairman, Dare Adekolu, declared him as the winner after collating results from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory at the party’s Presidential Primaries/2018 National Convention held in Ado Ekiti.

He urged members and Nigerians to support and vote for the party’s candidate in the 2019 presidential election.

“PPN has come to redeem Nigeria. PPN has come to save Nigeria from poverty, lack, unemployment and underdevelopment, hence the need for support,” Adekolu said.

In his acceptance speech, Al-Mustapha, who was represented on the occasion by Zakaria Husseini, promised Nigerians good leadership and promised to salvage the country and put it back on the path of growth and prosperity.

A Nigerian man has been handed a jail sentence for stealing his girlfriend’s phone, valued at N150,000 and a sum of N20,000. The 26-year-old Nigerian man identified as Ifeanyi Chijioke, was arraigned on one count of stealing and he reportedly pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing his girlfriend’s phone. The suspect who was handed a one month jail term, was arrested after the complainant, Folorunsho Funmilayo, reported the case at the Ikeja Police Station.

Funmilayo alleged that sometime in 2016, the suspect, who was her boyfriend, invited her to his hotel room. However after an all-night date, the defendant made away with the complainant’s phone and an ATM card, “which he used to withdraw N20,000 from her account without her consent.”

A distraught mum has accused a Lagos hospital, Oak Hospital of killing her son with wrong medication, shortly after she rushed her kids to the private medical facility. 

According to Oluwaseun Folorunsho, she rushed her two sons to the Lagos hospital on Saturday, September 22, 2018 as both had cough and were vomiting. However the 43-year-old woman alleged that the workers at the hospital prescribed and administered drugs meant for her four-year-old son, Imole, to Ogooluwa, adding that it was what led to his death.

She disclosed that Imole was placed on drips, Ogooluwa was reportedly given injections after a medical test on the children revealed that they both had malaria and an unnamed infection, leading to their being admitted to the hospital.

Folorunsho who spoke to Punch's correspondent, said she gave Imole food to eat, he refused, adding that his vomiting continued after the wrong medication. She added that despite her complaints, a doctor at the hospital said all was well.

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) mortuary attendants, have been accused of removing the eyes of a dead child, an 18-month-old twin named Chuma who died of anaemia in the hospital’s children’s ward on August 3, 2018.

The father of the dead child who had gone back to pay the mortuary bill two weeks later, discovered to his horror that the corpse they brought out for him had been mutilated and the UPTH mortuary attendants could not account for how, when or why the body parts got missing.

The father of the dead child who spoke to Satturday Sun's correspondent said; 

“Even while the baby was still breathing, one of the nurses had approached me and asked me to pay N30,000 to have the baby buried somewhere. That got me annoyed. From that moment, they became nonchalant, claiming they were waiting for the blood test until the child died.”

It was gathered that the couple travelled to Ughelli, where their families had encouraged them to bring the body home for burial.

“I went to the mortuary on September 17 to pay the bill and retrieve the corpse,” continued the distraught dad. “I had N20, 000 with me. But after taking the money, the attendant informed me my total bill was N56, 000. I requested to see the corpse of my baby. But to my surprise, when he brought out the baby’s corpse, the two eyes had been removed.”

According to the father of the dead child, he was prevented from taking pictures of the corpse.

Some people think you post inspirational videos just because you are based in the UK and not in Nigeria. If you were based in Nigeria, would you still do these types of videos with the same contents?

People talk, I don’t worry a lot about that. I didn’t just become popular on the Internet; I had been polishing my craft for a long time. I had been networking, writing, and inspiring my friends.

If I lived under a rock, I would still motivate people there. It’s who I am naturally; it’s a force from within. Maybe the stories would have been a bit more different if I were there, but I don’t see it happening any other way.

What are some of the weird requests you get from your fans, especially the female ones?

I have received diverse requests; some of them say I should come and marry them, take them on random flights and fly to countries with a different time zone to hang out with them.

What is the highest or lowest amount of money you have made from your social media platform?

I don’t like to talk about my income; the lowest should be under £100. But my income is good enough that I can comfortably take care of myself and even raise a child on it.

I used to have a job but I quit few months after I realised I was making enough money from my social media platform. I am the son of a big businesswoman, so I am also a businessman, but (on a) low-key (scale).

Recently you made a remark about Banky W and it made some Nigerians criticise you. How did you feel when you saw those feedbacks?

I found them funny and I was laughing at the comments. You know, it’s more interesting watching thousands of people say what they truly feel about you.  I learnt a lot and I’m still learning a lot.  I understood where it was coming from.
