Idowu has proven himself already! He's well composed, a good game reader and very intelligent!
He's no doubt an unsung Hero in the Team's improvement! So far He's balancing the attack and defence excellently and he deserves to be more appreciated by the fans!
Don't worry it's gradually , we will pick them one after another and shower praises on them .... They will all make us proud after the German match . The Germans have already called for trouble !

@kannymoore , get well soon brother !

You really need to understand the Manus philosophy , he doesn't really need an holding midfielder in his style of play , sometimes he sees them as ball joggler ,all he want his a good passer , who can give beautiful passes to his team mates, one of the reason he prefers Awoniyi over others is because of his brilliant passes apart from his scoring ability . One of our midfielders that got injured would have been the best option in that role of an holding midfielder that can dictate the pace of the game ,but so unfortunate he was left out of the competition due to injury .iheanacho would have done well in that role , but now he's more or less a striker ,Sokari is our best option he needs to up his game and distribute more dangerous passes . If Manu plays iheanacho and simon , we may be attacking from the wings in our next game , and this will also help the midfielders to express themselves well when they have the opportunity .

Always with Nigeria, they dont know how to play football politics. Hungary deliberately avoid Germany. We should av come out for draw, not because we are afraid but to be on the safer side. They better win Germany.
To be a champion u must beat a champion . Let this winning send a warning signal to the German machines

If that starting line-up is true, then I thank God that the foreign pros - Iheanacho, Success and Moses didn't waste their time coming early to camp. Whatever happens, these guys' talents are not in doubt anyday and they are settled in their clubs. That said, my mind still tells me that Manu does not know how to rotate his squad. With the way it's going, some players may not kick a single ball in this tournament till we get to the quaterfinals God willing. I'm even afraid if some will kick all through because the higher it goes, the hotter it becomes. Every player in that team should be well managed and respected.
I disagree with u about management , what we need is result , if u re the coach will u change a winning team ? He said it before the tournament that his bench may be stronger than his starting eleven , and when the going get tough , he can win the match from the bench cos they all have what it takes to do it .I felt for Simon anyways cos I am a good fan on him ... I want to see him play and make those his dangerous moves .

One thing thing I have noticed about Manu Garba is that : he wants cohesiveness and solid team work , anything less than that is a no for him .... Most of us knows the individual brilliance of the guys he left on the bench , but they re yet to give him d desired result .hoping to see a better super flying eagles tomorrow .

He can not be spot on. Nacho and Success might perform incredibly when they are on the ball but if they are not playing to the philosophy of the coach, their talent is useless to him. Note, I am a die hard Nacho fan.

These guys will come in but at the end, the team is lead by the coach and they are here because of his vision. It is not just about winning but sticking to his plans for the tournament.

Remember, Van Gaal dropped Di Maria from his squad, despite him being the most talented player in his squad because he did not play to Van Gaal's philosophy.
He made some valid point which I strongly concurred with ,that is d comment about the midfield .
Awoniyi needs to come in from the bench , he can do better if Manu can bring him from the bench . On a very good day Awoniyi cam score , score and keep scoring ....someone compare him to Giroud of Arsenal . Every other department is okay , if our midfield is good our wingback can play to their full strength by contributing to the attack . And bring out the best from every one .
Like u have mentioned Manu likes the team to play as a unit , infact this has been what has kept kept the team going our strength is the unity .for attackers to stay upfront without falling to the back when needed is a no no to Manu's philosophy .

I have d full video of under 17 Worldcup 2013 , I still watch the video when I want to make myself very happy , the boys plays as if u re playing a play station game , perfect passes , crosses and perfect team work for that age grade ! The secret behind that is unity .

Mehn... I laugh when guys who should know more decide to yarn befuddling yarns!

The first match was a travesty in coaching and not a result of the late arrival of the foreign pros!

Success, who was the last to arrive camp is suddenly the breakaway star as he's scored in virually all official matches he's played for nigeria spanning since 2013.

Success tracks back when told to track back cos I can vividly remember success making forays from way deeper than usual in the midfield during is brief Cameo in the Korean match.

As for the first match, the blame should rest squarely on the midfielders and not the strikers. It is the midfielders job to dictate the pace of the game, win balls in the midfield and then give them to the strikers to finish.
Our midfield was non-existent in the brazil game. End of story.

For your information.. this new philosophy of "ah.. the strikers should track back to win balls for the team.." that is creeping into every day football Lingo is raping my ears mehn! So you're saying that you'd prefer a "Shola ameobi" to an "obafemi martins" cos Shola ameobi "plays for the team" ?

I laugh.

Take a look.. imean a very close look @ barca.

Is messi a ball winner?....NO

Is suarez a Ball winner?....NO

"Is Neymar a Ball winner?...NO

Then how the flyings heck do they manage to score so many goals yet let in extremely few goals @ the back compared to teams that have embraced this supposedly "mordern philosophy of strikers tracking back to win balls for the team".

It's nonsense joor.

Inasmuch as I respect Manu Garba's tactical acumen and vision as a coach, the blame of the shambolic gameplay of that team in the 2nd half rests squarely on his shoulders!

In my own opinion sha, Iheanacho had no business hiding up front wen its his duty to win bals and provide through passes for success, awoniyi and yahaya to finish off.

That aside, he's also too good a player to bench too.

I hope and believe that Garba will fashion out a workable template to accommodate our foreign stars into our subsequent games. People like iheanacho, success and yahaya shouldn't be sitting on the bench in favor of the lot. Heck, out of the 6 goals scored so far..NOT ONE has been scored by ANY member of that team that won the African Youth Championship!

Strange eh?

NB. Pardon my rants oh!..just that I get pissed when peeps suddenly put down the efforts of hardworking players like Success and Yahaya over less than capable players like bulbwa and Awoniyi (yes I said it A-w-o-n-i-y-i)!

Awoniyi is a good player alright but he's primarily a TARGET MAN and even at that, he's far less technically astute a striker as Success in ALL RAMIFICATIONS OF THE GAME!
You rve been spot on bro! But Manu pattern is that the player shld play for one another , in fact that has been the core style of the team , the only reason he kept the star players on the bench is to remind them of the team philosophy . That team can score goals without a striker we have past record to proof that ... I wish the team will play to their full potentials against the Hungarian .

Brotherly! It's not an intrusion rather a very good observation! We played good football when Yahaya was introduced, though the Boys ain't under pressure at the time.
I sincerely believe the Lads can match any Team, cos they are getting their rhythm back at the moment!
Watch out for the next game, then you gonna see the real Flying Eagles in action with a Barcelona-like attacking football!
To be sincere , they ve not really entertained us .... They re joy watch when it comes to attacking football , passes and quality ball control . Manu pls let's have a feel of what the African champion is up to . They re better of playing tiki-taka and not the lobbing of ball upfront . Lobbing of the ball has not really produced result in the previous matches .

First of all, it is very funny for you to think players like Enaholo and Awoniyi will acclimatize in three weeks. Even if they were in Auckland. During the Hungary Brazil match, some Brazilians were wrapped in blankets.

Whoever selected Germany as the camp venue and said it is the same weather needs to go back to primary school. So he can learn temperature difference.

Frankfurt Germany's temperature today = 72°F
Auckland New Zealand's temperature today = 50°F

The gap is too much especially for players coming from Lagos Nigeria = 77°F.

Those that camped at Sydney Australia got it right. Temperature = 52°F
F
I don't want us to derail this thread or argue much over this , but I will just Make one or 2points in a lame man's language .
Going by ur figures , temperature of Germany ,Australia and Lagos , the diff btw Germany and Lagos is just about 5 degree Fahrenheit , meaning that Lagos is hotter than Germany , for someone coming from a hot region , it is an advantage . Also considering d temperature of newzealand which is about 52 degree Fahrenheit , meaning d place is more colder . Looking at it from the sport man point of view , they only need extra training to accustom their body to d weather , which is additional training . And advantage of this weather will not make them get tired on time . So bro . I will not take the weather acclimatization as an excuse for failure ...
