AIG07:
i pray we qualify. Sincerely speaking we have bundles of talent that can win us d olympic Gold medal. No they 're are just too much only if d best'll be invited.
I think v. Moses can also make d cut. Musa 'll be 23 den.

BascoVanVeli:
Ok i have one that has been on my mind.
Which 3 older players do we take to the Olympics in Brasil?
I honestly can't name 3 I only have Enyeama.

TheSuperNerd:
..........And your take is a good one Sir. Very good indeed. *smiles*

Obafemi Martins deserves another call-up to the Super Eagles. The 14-goal hitman can't seem to stop painting the MLS red, pink, purple and black with goals. We could make do with such consistency and experience added to the young super talents coming through-(Oliseh better go after Dele Alli, Dominic Iorfa and Moses Odubajo NOW. And he better prepare Nacho's and Success' invitation letters for the next international breaks after the october friendlies. The likes of Awoniyi, Musa M, Savior G, Yahaya, Ndidi and co can come much later)- in addition to the established stars of the team(mikel, moses, musa, enyeama, omeruo-he's injured rite now but will be back soon- and a few others).

If Martins fails(I doubt he will) then we move on........ We are spoilt for choice in all departments BUT OLISEH MUST KEEP SPREADING HIS DRAGNET AND EXPANDING HIS "EAGLE-EYED" RADAR.......

BREAKING NEWS: OLISEH CALLS UP AMBROSE EFE TO REPLACE INJURED KENNETH OMERUO FOR THE OCTOBER FRIENDLIES. HE'S BEEN CALLED UP NOT AS A RIGHT-BACK BUT AS A CENTRE-BACK/CENTRAL DEFENDER.

Naturally Efe Ambrose is a Centre defensive player , but Stephen Keshi converted him tp a wing back cos no one could fit in into that position .
But I like the cohesiveness in the back line in our last match , I hope they keep improving .

Personally, I feel Bony is not well utilized at City. City is not his kind of club. He was massive in Holland as well as Swansea because he was in a 4-4-2 selection. At Vitesse, he broke goal records and for Swansea, I saw how he is one of the game's best headers of the ball. He doesn't get those kind of supplies in City. The crosses are terribly poor.

If he fails to adapt, Man City is in a fix because his salary is huge and only lesser clubs than Man City would be willing to take him on, but would they have the financial muscle to pay his fees?

TheSuperNerd:
But Sir, I thought Ighalo scored about 20 goals in the english championship last season. I know for sure he hit the 20-goal mark.

And yeah, 4 goals in 6 matches ( or is it 5 matches, has he missed any match for watford this season? I'm not sure for now).

He's got one goal for the Super Eagles already albeit from the penalty spot in the Afcon qualifiers game against Chad in Keshi's last competitive game. And hey, Wasn't that his official debut? I believe with time, Ighalo will be as prolific for Nigeria as he's been for watford. He hasn't clocked 5 caps yet as a Super Eagles player so worry not. Hopefully, he'll get going with goals sooner than expected in the green-white-green.

Great one this weekend again Naija! ! ! Our stars (young and old/experienced, capped and uncapped at senior level) are showing that the light in Nigerian football still burns intensely and can't be put off.

From Victor moses to Nacho to Isaac success to Ighalo to Oboabona and several others, the signs are there....... Nigeria's resurgence in soccer at the senior level is now at hand more than ever......... *smiles*

Sorry for the typo error , if u had followed Watford last season , Ighalo was benched for about 5 matches last season when he was supposed to hit the 20 goals target , he would have benefited the incentives that was offered by the club for 20goals benchmark .

safarigirl:
Ighalo's 3rd goal in EPL was assisted by Troy Deeney. Of Watford's 5 goals this season, Ighalo has 3 and all 3 have been assisted by Deeney. Great combo

TheGoodJoe:
For a player that scored 9 goals in 20 games, I wonder how you feel that was the right striker for Man City. That he scores less than half the goals in the game he plays. That is terrible for what City needed if we are to dominate Europe.

Ibrahimovic scored 19 in 24 league games.
Luis Suarez scored 16 goals in 27 games. 31 goals in 33 games in his last season for Liverpool.
Jackson Martinez at FC Porto scored 21 goals in 29 games before joining Atletico Madrid.
Sergio Aguero scored 26 goals in 33 games last season.

So I wonder what stats makes Wilfried Bony the type of striker Man City, Txiki and Pellegrini would fork out such money to sign. Then dropping Dzeko for him was ridiculous.

We needed a striker who can play multiple roles and take on players. Before Bony came, I knew it was a bad deal. I do not see him turning into a world beater over night. No doubt, Nacho will overtake him. Bony is a liability.

TheGoodJoe:
When I heard Man City wanted to sign Bony, I did not believe it. Even when I read it in Dailymail. I knew he would not fit on. What we needed was Suarez. I wonder why we never went for a huge bid for Suarez before he went to Barca.

A cheaper alternative would have been Icardi from Inter Milan.

We are in a deep fix now but I still believe De Bruyne can do the job.

TheGoodJoe:
Pellegrini made a big mistake in his Champions League selection. Nacho was supposed to be on the list. That was a huge mistake. Well I hope we stay in until the January window to correct our mistake.

What baffled me is Pellegrini holding on until we conceded the second goal before making changes. He should have taken Bony off earlier and replaced him with De Bruyne. He should have let De Bruyne attack. Well let us see how it goes.

TheSuperNerd:
Oga, where have u been hiding? I really miss Sir Tbaba1234, Kannymoore and Mikron. They've just disappeared. Well, I still got Safarigirl, TheGoodJoe, Icon4s, Joseph 1013, AIG07, Linked (won't make the same mistake twice), Basco van veli, Big Blangston, and others(abeg no do like Sir Linked

Daninya11:
Take it or leave it, Haruna Lukman was a commanding presence in midfield, he explore the space in midfield but he final touch was poor, the midfield collapsed when he left the pitch. Better still, Oliseh should have replaced him with Rabiu Ibrahim. I thought both Lukman and Ibrahim would start with a strong DMF to cover them.

We need mikel in midfield, for now he is the boss because no one can take his place, eegho missed his coordination, crisp passes and commanding presence in midfield.
Oliseh should give Ramon Azeez a recall, Keshi just threw the Lad into the fray and it overwhelmed him..

Oliseh will come good..

God bless Nigeria

Daninya11:
He is in the mould of Lampard..

I wish them luck..

Longest time bro, how you doing??

Daninya11:
Were is that midfield maestro??
Tipped as the next Jay Jay??
I think Rabiu Ibrahim is his name..

TheSuperNerd:
Excellent! ! ! That is just the point. NIGERIA , AT THE TOURNAMENT, HAD A WINNING SQUAD... And indeed the very best, most lethal, and most dreaded attack at NZ. But our 'best knights' were benched coz, in Sir Icon4's words, "...Manu knows the team." hian! ! !
In soccer history, Manu's actions will go down as one of the most preposterous and most floccipaucinihilipilificated Ever.

iheanacho strikes

safarigirl:
You guys should just read this article...all these low self-esteem people on this thread trying to kill my Iheanacho's vibe....no be pesin dey there before Aguero and Silva show? If Iheanacho puts up a better performance than Aguero like that Oxford guy of West Ham yesterday, why won't he get regular playing time?

In fact, read am first #TeamOptimists

The only person who has anything to lose is Iheanacho here, not you or me or anyone else. I trust he's smart enough to realise this and just as he has been doing all this time, he won't let the tiniest opportunity to live up to billings pass. Make una kponkpi
