Thank God no one was there. I had a similar experience in 2006. I was sitting on the rug I our living room with my brother and a family friend sitting on chairs. We heard a loud bang through the ceiling with fine particles of the ceiling flying around me. I jumped away on hearing the noise. I came back and saw the hole through the ceiling and realized it pierced through the roof as well. We seached everywhere if there was a bullet but didn't find any. It was days later when I was doing thorough clean up that I saw the bullet. We showed it to a police officer and he said it was police bullet. The hole on the ceiling and roof was directly above my head where I sat. By the way, we never heard any gun shot except the bang through the roof. Na God dey save us o!

I dont think that guy was wrong to quote you, But if we take a good look at the trajectory, its quite a strange one, bullet falling from the sky would be pulled down by the force of gravity, if you did physics =10g.Thats the force attributed to a free falling body.So the Only way a bullet will fall from the sky unto your roof is if it has been fired upwards. Now I find it hard to believe that that said bullet will have the force to pierce your roof, ceiling at same time if its free falling, however if its traveling at its fired velocity its direction of travel will be Horizontal. This in terms will not fall down into ur house, it will jus pass fru.So as you see,its a tough one to call.

The University of Abuja has presented medals to 10 researchers and 20 authors from the university for winning grants of over 1.1 billion naira and publishing on first class journals across the world.

Vice – Chancellor of the university, Prof Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah at the presentation of the medals to the researchers and authors at UniAbuja main campus, said the move would encourage other scholars of the institution to seek and win more scholarly grants across the world.

He explained that the researchers were able to attract the funds through their various works which are aimed at proffering solutions to societal challenges.

He said: “We are so excited this year 2021 with all our researchers getting grants from all over the world, doing research in different areas, resolving problems for Nigeria, for humanity, bringing new products, working with industries and I am so happy that this N1.1 billion was realised by the University of Abuja researchers and most of the money came from Europe.

“What we have done is to give them medals, to tell them University of Abuja is proud of them, Nigeria, the world and indeed humanity is proud of them because their research is in various areas such as hypertension, salt consumption, cultural matters, and different areas of human endeavour. It is also an indication that the University of Abuja has come to lead Nigeria, we are telling our scholars that we must set an example as a University that others must see us as the model university to copy.

“We want to lead, we want to show that academic is not just about teaching and going home, but research is also fundamental to the university, resolving problem for the society is fundamental, we are having security challenges today, universities should be at the forefront in leading and we at the University of Abuja are doing that so today is for researchers and authors.”

Director of the Centre for Sponsored Project at the university, Prof Obiageli Nnodu said the university had organised a series of workshops for scholars and researchers to enable them carry out critical research and win more grants both locally and internationally.
