Okay... Now, the fault rests on the engineers and builders. Their license should be siezed
In the US, they might even go to jail.

If negligence is determined, they will be charged with multiple counts of negligence homicide.

Not necessarily a quack engineer... It could be due to a landslide, excessive vibration, etc
There should be a constant building survey on all structures but sadly the Government in most part of the world consider it waste of resources. RIP to the dead
It is new bridge and collapse during stress test before opening it up for the public aka students for which it was built to access their campus over a very busy highway.

Omg! How come the imminent collapse was not detected by the authorities concerned before the tragedy struck undecided shocked. Goes to show that even in the well advanced countries, they can goof as well. There is no perfect system...so to say. The only perfection is in God! smiley RIP to the dead.
It is was detected....someone guffed big time!

It was a new bridge and it collapsed during stress testing after construction to determine its structural stability.

The construction company requested partial lane closure during the test period, hence the fatalities; had it been full lanes closures instead of the two closed, the fatalities would have been none or reduced.

But, it is not fair to play Monday morning quarterback, that was a very busy road, so they must have felt a partial closure is sufficient.

An Engineer from the construction company detected some cracks on the bridge two days before the collapse. He called FDOT but had to leave a voicemail, since the recipient was away and that message was not listen to until a day after the incident.

If this is a sane society he certainly have case on this but I'm sorry to inform him that this is Nigeria.
Even in those ‘sane society’ the authorities can confiscate your properties if they believe that, they are proceeds of crime.

In the USA most states have assets forfeiture laws and States that don’t have them or whose laws made it difficult to get away with it, join forces with the federal government to do it and share the proceeds with the federal government.

In the USA, it is only in asset forfeiture cases that, you are adjudged guilty, until you can prove that you are innocent before a judge. You have to essentially prove that, you obtained the items seized legally and through verifiable legal income, otherwise you kiss them goodbye forever.

Well orchestrated coincidence, if you ask me.

Kidnapping 100 to 300 hundred people in broad day light and escape into the unknown without a trace surely will involve some level cooperation.
CelebritiesRe: Mary Timms' "Fight Against Rape" Campaign Set To Launch by linearity: 5:14pm On Mar 08, 2018
I saw no fight, the video re-enactment only examplifies rape.

I was excepting the video to actually including steps to fight rape e.g. either physically fighting back to the extend of inflicting bodily injuries including death on the victim or taking steps afterwards to have the attacker arrested, prosecuted and thrown into jail.

Many ladies are helpless in the face of rape, people often doubt their stories and as such, they gave up seeking justice...but a video re-enactment showing them steps to take, what to do to preserve evidence and how to bring about justice, will be a fight indeed.

CareerRe: Can A Military Officer (Soldier) Resign From Service? by linearity:

How can an enlisted soldier attend a course to study without approval? When he is not on reserve but active duty? 80% of Nigerian Armed Forces are active duty.

Unless the soldier is retired. I agree.
But an enlisted soldier (NCO) on active duty cannot have a PhD in present day Nigeria. That's a fact. Even BSC they can't. Before they get approval for executive commission in NDA it takes grace of God. And even that, they are randomly selected by Defence HQ. They don't just wake up and go. So how did the enlisted dad get the PhD?

Let's start with that.
Getting approved for a course does not waived the requirements for DSSC.

You can get your approval, get how many degrees as your heart desire, but will not be commissioned if you didn’t meet the criteria for DSSC.

Also, you only need approval if your study as a whole or partly will cut into your active service time or if you want some type of sponsorship from the military. With the advert of online degrees and NOUN, you can get a degree while fully still on active duty.

Though the above digress away from the point of the topic here, but suffice it to say that a Ph.D is possible even on active military service and that does not mean that, at the end of the day, you will become a commissioned officer.

Good Morning people. Please experts in the house I need an urgent reply.

I got married recently but had a son already. My husband wants to adopt my son legally so that he can file his papers for easier and faster migration into the US. My son will be 10 this August.

Searched everywhere on google on the adoption process but didn’t find suitable information. Please how do I go about this??
He does not have to adopt your son for him to file USA immigration paperworks.

When he files, he will usually list your son under you and if you qualify and approved; all your children under you derives that benefit through you and are automatically approved.

Going through adoption is a long process and only needed if he wants the child to derive his benefits through him, but that is not necessary as the child will derive such through you as long as they are unmarried and are under 21 years old.

Depending on how he file your application, you get either a K1 or K3 visa; your unmarried children under 21 years old gets a K2 visa if he filed K1 visa for you and K4 if he filed K3 visa for you.

A Ph.d holder is most likely a commissioned officer. And commissioned officers are still "soldiers". His dad may be a commander. Or GOC. A commissioned officer is even needed at battle more than enlisted in my opinion.
Not all Ph.D holders are commissioned officers. Some are other rank and retire as such or move through the ranks just like others.

Direct Short Service Course have an age limit bracket of 22 to 35 years old and caps out at a max intake of 300 cadets across all three military disciplines per year.

This has been amended bro. Now you can't resign any more. If at all you must resign, then it will be for reasons beyond their control (like medical reasons not even Gunshot oh.). The present insurgency has made retirement uneasy for the military men. My Dad just attained his Ph.d degree even an OTHER soldier (joined as a recruit) and ever since then he has been applying for retirement but no way for him,. In short as I'm typing now, he is presently in the Northeast fighting against this bill harem as a Phd holder. A degree that even the generals don't have
Am curious, what is his rank after obtaining his Ph.d? I see that you mentioned ‘Other Soldier’....that is not a known military term, unless you meant ‘Other Rank’.

It is a total waste of Human Resources to be sending a Ph.d holder to the battle front as an infantryman.

Yes, condoms are not 100% safe. But why restrict the airing of adverts to certain periods? I find it odd.
The goal is to reduce exposing it to kids and teens, since those times are outside the times they critically tune in.

But this is counter productive, most young people start having sex in their teens, so keeping information that will offer some level of protection albeit not 100% makes no sense.

The notion that, making them aware of this will lead to promiscuity is not supported by facts. I hear ads about cigarettes all day and have not been tempted yet to try it.

He's made it seem that he has never "shown" a woman out before and that it made it official (this happened back in July). He's told me that he isn't using me and its not a sham because I've talked to his mother and that his parents would never approve of such behavior. His parents and siblings no about me and have asked me personally when am I coming so we could plan for the marriage. But I seriously have my doubts now. And when he showed me his screenshot of his Whatsapp (because I know he is talking to women on it)...I noticed his mother's number wasnt even saved. It just showed her number. Idk. Id be saving my moms number. Just weird. The whole thing is weird and a year of my life has been invested in this.

He doesnt work. I mean...he says hes an entrepreneur. Whatever he means by that. But he doesnt make much because about once a month...sometimes more sometimes less, he will ask if I can send some money and then claim to hate to ask me for it. He says we are engaged but never bought me a ring.

Im just...mad at myself. Because my gut is never wrong. Women have an incredible sense of intuition....
You better cut your loses....

You are even suspicious if the person you spoke with is her mom...even if the individual is her mom and you have also spoken with his father and all his siblings, that is not a guaranteed against cheating.

If he want to still cheat, he will do it, even openly in front of his parents and siblings and they will not tell you of it. They have a tighter bond with him than you and as such, they will flow more with him. Plus Nigeria tolerants polygamy and cheating, and in some quarters, it is not a big deal.

In my local tribe in Nigeria, there is an adage aka proverbs when roughly translated into English goes like this...”sticking to only one pussy kills the penis”.

Now, not all Nigeria men are cheat. But, you have confirmed that, your guy was a cheat, especially when he was in college, that he is handsome, he knows his way around women, flirts with them easily and both of you are in a long distant relationship for more than or about one year...Girl! You don’t need a crystal ball to know that he is cheating.

Despite your insistence; it appear that you see your ‘weight’ as a negative. You mentioned your weight and kids several times as a potential negatives compare to the positives on the guy’s end and am certain that you must have found out that, these are areas of friction in your relationship with him. What I don’t get is, why you are hoping that, against all odds, that this will somehow automatically work out.

Though you said you are not desperate, but the rate at which you are ignoring these tell tale signs smacks on desperation. Plus, you have settled into the belief that, you guys are engage, but you have no ring to show for it and you are the one supporting this guy. You don’t even know what he does for a living and yet, you want to marry him.Agreed, you have invested a lot of time and cash on this relationship...but, a bad investment does not automatically turn into a good one, if one continue to invest, the best outcome is to cut your loses and take a hike.

Yes i believe in once saved always saved. But any believer that continue with a sinful lifestyle doesn't know his true identity and that is a stup.id choice to make. He will suffer the consequences of his sins here on earth cos sin destroys the body and makes our life a living hell. His spirit is saved so far he is a true believer. By true believer, i mean one that trusts in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus for his salvation. Any believer in Christ is saved forever regardless of what religious people might have told you before.

People do not go to hell because they commit so and so sins.. No!! People go to hell because of one sin and that is unbelief in the finished work of Christ.

Sin is a nature not necessarily the action. Every man has that sin nature which we inherited from Adam. And that nature was what Christ defeated on the cross of Calvary and He now offers us His own nature ( THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD) as a gift. If you reject it, you will die in your sin nature which leads to Hell but if you accept His free gift of Salvation, He will cloth you with His own righteousness that qualifies you for eternal life in heaven.

John 3:16 is the Gospel "For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son. That whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have Eternal Life".

That is the Gospel.. The good news we are asked to preach to a fallen world. Its all about Christ Jesus.
Heb 10:26-29.....

“26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”

....enuff said!

You are the only who doesn't understand the story
The IPO reduced the man's age from 73 to 42 so as to charge him for murder. This happened because the old man couldn't pay N500, 000 demanded by the IPO. Meanwhile, the old man and complainant had resolved their issues through alternate dispute resolution mechanism and filled affidavit to that effect at the court. But the gullible IPO was hell bent on punishing the old man for not paying, hence he charged him to court
What has age got to do with charging someone for murder?

I know that during sentencing phase, age is one of the mitigating circumstances that is considered in fixing prison terms....charging someone in itself does not have any bearing on age, unless there is some in the Nigeria criminal code that addresses this, which am not aware of.
