Politics / Re: Stabilise Naira, Stop Blame Game On Emefiele, Ohanaeze Youths Tackle Cardoso by linearity: 10:22pm On Dec 15, 2023 |
AbuTwins: The price and rate of currencies, stocks, etc are future prices discounted for today. Let me explain, the current rate of the dollar to Naira is the future price of Naira against the dollar e.g. six months or one year price discounted for time and inflation to today. It means, if the CBN comes out with a good policy framework and sound economy blue print that will make the Naira to appreciate to a stable rate of eg N500 in one year from now, barring anything the present cost of Naira will be adjusted for inflation and time value and could now be sold for e.g N800 today. The fact that Naira rate have not changed much is because the market did not see any concrete plan on ground today that would shift the current trajectory or market any investor buy and hold Naira in the hope that, it will appreciate in value tomorrow….in essence Naira is giving a bearish signal. 3 Likes |

Scarrr: In your previous post, you stated that the "...almighty west has lot of cases that won't probably get solved las las, Tupac and Big's death , Jon Bennet Ramsey, this TV presenter Jil dando.." And I went into each of the three cases you categorized at 'won't probably get solved.." and show you that, you are wrong that those cases are still active and in fact have key suspects with some in Court at the moment, all these information are from Government sources and Government investigations. The major take away is that, these Western Governments have not given up on these cases, they have people on trial for these murders, the one that was acquitted was on a technicality, but the Government is still going after them, the government know their man in each of these cases, they just have to get enough evidence to cross the threshold of 'beyond a reasonable doubt'. If you hold that thought for a moment and switch to Nigeria; what is the position of SCID on MKO, Abacha, Dele Giwa, are those cases still being investigated by anyone at SCID? Was anyone officially charged by the Government for these crimes? A case is cold in Nigeria if a suspect is not found within a mere six months. I have never heard of any case in Nigeria, where the murder was reported and the suspects are them discovered one year after the criminal act. This is the kind of differences I am trying to highlight. |

Scarrr: I also buttressed your point, yes there are no utopian world out there, but the West is a million light years ahead and it is not happening automagically for them, they have active cold case departments and we don’t. And by the way, Duane Davis has been charged with Tupac’s murder. Big Death was killed by hitman hired by Suge Knight as revenge for Tupac’s murder. John Mark Karr is a viable Suspect in JonBenét Ramsey Murder. Police say new DNA samples would exclude everyone from the home. Barry George was arrested, sentenced and later acquitted for the killing of Jill Dando but he still remains a focus of the investigation. These are the results of Active Cold Case detectives still working behind the scenes for decades to solve crimes, I don’t know of a single cold case crime that has been solved by CID in Nigeria. |

And these are notable men, men who are rich and whose net worth still exists with us today in dollars and who have people with money still alive pushing daily for answers, yet nothing! Una thing say the West dey solve 10, 20 years cases automagically? They have an active and fully funded Cold Case departments. The report clearly stated that and I quote: “….Our source alleged that the newly installed conveyor belts break down almost 30 minutes daily, especially during the peak period.” Can you name one Country in the world whose Airport conveyor belt breaks down at least 30 minutes every single day? Before you cut these Ministers and Politicians some slack, have you seen the Prado Jeep they drive? Have you met any these their Prado Jeep breaking down on the road even for once? They make sure they buy new jeeps every year! Nairaland / General / Re: Native Doctor Spotted Moving With Armed Security Men (Video) by linearity: 11:45am On Dec 08, 2023 |
shortgun: If you conclude that, a Chief Priest is not a native doctor, It then means you have a very narrow definition of who is a native doctor. A Native Doctor in my definition is someone that intercedes between the living and the spirit world and prays to the spirit world or personalities on behalf of the living. A Chief Priest does the same thing on behalf of the Community, in fact he or she is the aka Chief Native Doctor appointed or ordained by the gods to be the only individual that can come before them to intercede on behalf of the community. The major distinction that I find between both is that, Chief Priests are not for private hire, their focus is the community and they are chosen aka by the gods. If your definition of a native doctor is limited to just someone who have good knowledge of local herbs and can mix them for people to heal their illnesses, then you are correct. However my definition transcends that definition because native doctors in our society have up their game and we have many people in our community that also have good knowledge of herbs and their prescriptions also works but we do not necessarily call them native doctors. |

Politics / Re: Oshiomhole: Foreign Prisoners Are Working At Construction Sites In Nigeria by linearity: 6:24pm On Dec 07, 2023 |
thesolutions: I see the distinction you are putting between Prisoners & Excons. But your assertion that, they have to be given a new identity is not correct. Very often Prisoners behind bar for very low offenses and those serving out the last few months or years of their sentences are off-loaded to Companies by the Government. From what I know, they work at companies local to the Prisons, also there are many prisons who are not put in jail but given some type of sentence that require them to maintain good behavior over a period of time while working. It would not be far fetched for these local companies to ferry these prisoners abroad for these of work as it would be very cheap. In any case Osho Baba say he got this information on ‘good authority’ I don’t if any of us have a better insider info to contradict him. He said their will be a Senate hearing, so let’s give him the benefit of a doubt. |
Politics / Re: Oshiomhole: Foreign Prisoners Are Working At Construction Sites In Nigeria by linearity: 2:47pm On Dec 07, 2023 |
thesolutions: Are you saying this based on a factual actual Country that you know of or based on your ignorance? In developed worlds court convictions are public records and anyone can access it, you don’t even red to be a company to do that. The only exception are juvenile convictions that are sealed. That is why if you commit a crime in developed countries it will be difficult if not impossible for you to land that your dream job, because the company’s HR would pull a background check on you and they will get all your criminal history. As a result of this unemployment among those who have completed their prison sentences, the government of many developed countries in an effort to help reabsorb ex-convicts back into society and to help reduce the chance of fall back into crimes, give companies certain incentives e.g. Tax breaks, special treatments, etc if they hire and retain ex-convicts. Though Baba Osho did not mentioned names, those in the know, know that he is referring to Chinese Companies. Their Government give these companies incentives in China to hire these people and they hire them and ship them to Africa to work this way if they fall back into crimes, it will be the host Countries eg Nigeria and not China that would bear the consequences. |
Politics / Re: Oshiomhole: Foreign Prisoners Are Working At Construction Sites In Nigeria by linearity: 11:05am On Dec 07, 2023 |
thesolutions: Apply some wisdom! Western countries and China have good criminal databases and any person behind a keyboard with an internet access can look criminal records of anyone in those countries whereas that is not possible with Nigeria. In most of these countries these information are public knowledge. |

Family / Re: Ex-Wife Threatened To Take Me To Court For Children Custody by linearity: 3:03pm On Dec 05, 2023 |
Prospertochu: If you love those boys as you claim, they should have been living with you and not your mother, that way you personally oversee their upbringing on a day to day basis. The Court favors parent more when it comes to care and custody of the kids, grandparents, siblings, etc only get involved when the court has determined that both parents are incapable of taking care of the kids. As it is now, if she take you to court, she does even need a lawyer, the court will give her all three kids because the court would favor your ex-wife over your mother. The case would have been a little different if the two boys are living with you, as since you stated she abandoned them, and they have good bond with you, you might be allowed to keep the boys with visitation to her and she keep the girl with visitation to you. But, you will need a very good lawyer for this, because courts favors that the kids stay together, there are a few exceptions to this and a good lawyer after accessing your case can draw up these exceptions in your favor. If you guys share the kids as stated above, no one might pay the other support but if she get all three kids, you are in for a long one. So access your options and proceed as you see fit. |
