No other US business does that....if you join USPS today, Congress requires the USPS to write a check totally your estimate 10 years retirement to the treasury within a month...if you do not stay until retirement e.g. get another job tomorrow, died, etc the treasury does not refund the money back to the USPS, this is clearly a congressional scam.

So, USPS can become profitable overnight if the shackles around their ankles are removed and they are allowed to function as a business.

The Earth's circumference, is 24,901 miles, which means for each degree of earth surface; we have a length of about 70 miles long...the length of a football field is 90 meters i.e 0.055 miles; meaning for just 1 degree of movement across the earth surface, you must be able to see 1,272 foot fields in one perspective to notice one degree of curvature.

So, flying at a mere 8 miles above, you cannot notice even a tree, how are you going to notice a one degree earth curvature that happens every 70 miles or sustain the viewing perspective of 1,272 x foot field lengths?

So to be able to notice the earth’s curvatures you have to travel farther into space, much more that Air Planes can reach and with a telescope you can see it.

The logic is the same as, if you stand right in front of a very big building, you will not be able to see its corners, it will appear as a continuous flat surface to you; however the further you move away from the building, the more you see and eventually, depending on how wide the building is and your visions permitting, you will start seeing the corners and more structures around its bends.
