1. Freeze never said, Christians should not support their churches financially. It is very clear that Christians have to give to support the work.

2. None of the passage he quoted mandated this giving and none mentioned tithe or said it must be 10%.

3. Early Christians were living a communist lifestyle, that is why they sold 100% of their possessions and lay it at the Apostles’ feet. Many cult have arisen to mimic this cult like commune living, but had failed. And I believe the Pastor is not advocating that, all his church members move in and he will start taking care of 100% of their needs.

4. Not all the churches were doing it during Paul’s day.

This waiver is a necessary signing ceremony each year for each US President to essentially undermine the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995, which states that US embassy must be moved to Jerusalem by 1999.

Trump move is mainly political, he just recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the same thing that has been recognized in US laws since 1995. But it’s implementation has been put on hold for a bilateral UN sanctioned two states solution.

You will be surprised at the number of tithers who can’t speak for themselves but secretly nodding him ahead. Many who want to see a return to scriptural based giving, but are afraid of the ‘curse’ that will be rained on them, should they dare come into the open.

These people had been giving their tithes out of fear, because their ‘Pastor’ have told them, they will be cursed if they don’t, or die or some evil will befall them. Some churches have tithe booklet and must be submitted weekly and checked off, and you wouldn’t be able to do anything in the church until your tithe is up to date.

I have personally met people who borrow to pay tithe or give their whole monthly salaries in tithe each month and depend on charity and church members benevolent to live day to day. When I encountered this individual, I had to convince them not to tithe and that it is not a sin...

The above is a true life story, this individual had some issue and had to borrow huge amount of money from their company cooperative society to solve the problem. They started making deduction from their monthly pay check... that deduction, couple with other government related deduction make their monthly income to fall within 10-15% of their gross income...but they have been told in their church, a big named church in Nigeria that they must pay tithe on their gross income and have faith in God to see them and that is what this individual have been doing. Their quality of life is nothing to write home about...and this individual can’t raise up against their pastor or church...they are voiceless.

There many such voiceless, powerless Christians, sorry to use the word ‘zoobie’ tithers today and they had found their voice in Freeze. They don’t have the knowledge that you have, some are not even educated enough to read the Bible for themselves, they are good Christians, believe everything their Pastor tells and truly believe that they will be cursed by God if they don’t tithe, because their Pastor says so. They are emancipated, they are now perpetual fasters and have been genuinely waiting and trusting God for that financial breakthrough that their Pastor preaches will accompany their obedient giving.

I have read many responses from supposed men of God to Freeze challenge to show scriptural bases, I must tell you an disappointed. Where is the Paul in them? The scripture say, Paul went into the square everyday to debate the Astrologers with the scriptures and was able to convince some. Where is the Philip in these Pastors? Philip started from the same scripture and convinced the Ethiopia Eunuch about Christ.

We need a Pastor in Nigeria to rise to the task, teach the whole Nation from the same scriptures and convince us like Philip or like Paul that this is legit. That passage in Malachi 3:10, is not directed to Christians nor Israelites.

Malachi 2:1, clearly stated that; God sent Malachi to command the Priests.

Looking at how tithe was practiced and commanded by God, you will know why none of these pastors are quoting scripture references.

The whole bases of tithing was to give inheritance to the Levites, as the Lord was their inheritance. When the twelve tribes got lands and properties Levites got nothing and God said the other tribes that got properties must give His (God’s) inheritance to the Levites every third year.

The others years, he commanded them to eat their tithes and use it to buy anything that their heart desires and eat with their families, the poor, strangers, etc.

The tithe given to Levites were to be enjoyed by all Levites, not just the Priest who serve at the tabernacle...i.e. if you are of the tribe of Levi, you must eat from the tithe.

The way it is practiced today, only the Pastor collect the tithes. If you look at the biblical practice, you will conclude that anyone serving in one form or another in the church today is a ‘Levite’ e.g. Choir, Usher, Bible School Teacher, Prayer Warrior, etc while the Pastors are the ‘Priest’...if this is done according to the law, every one of them will get a portion of the Lord’s inheritance in tithes on a regular bases.

Also, Pastor owning Properties, lands, businesses, inheritance nullifies the bases of tithing; that should completely disqualify them from collecting tithes.

The truth is, major national parties should be publicly funded by the federal government.

Stop mis-quoting the scriptures; first do as Paul instructed, 'study to show thyself approved..', do not reproduced what someone else gave you, without first cross checking their scriptural soundness. The Bible is an open book, apply yourself to studying it, especially on a subject that you think you know enough.

First, Malachi was talking to the Priests who are responsible in bringing the tithe into the store store. Under the old covenant settings that Malachi was talking about, the children of Israel do not take their tithes to the store house. On the third year as God commanded, the Israelites bring their tithes to the Priests, who take it from them and take it to the store House.

Try to read the whole book of Malachi, to understand it's context and who the message was for, but to help you further that...

Malachi 2:1 "....And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you...” and the message from God to the Priests continues through chapter three that you have quoted above.

During this time in Israel; the Priests received the tithes from the Israelite but refused to bring their tenth into the store house, so they can be used to feed the poor, fatherless, etc and also for God's burnt offering, instead they covert all the tithes received...God had to send his Prophet Malachi with a message to the priest to rebuke them and tell them they have robbed him God and they have also robbed the whole nation. He therefore commanded them to start bringing the tithes into the store house.

Num 18:26
"Speak to the Levites and say to them: when you receive from the Israelites the tithes I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the LORD's offering"

The new testament do not ask believers to tithe, only that they give freely, willingly and cheerfully. A believer who is not tithing will not incur God's wrath, neither will one who is tithing be blessed above the one not tithing.

Though, if you must tithe, which is law; it is imperative that you do it according to the law. God lay down laws on how they should be observed specifically and tithing was not left out...

1. The law commands that, you must take the tenth of your tithe and go spend it on whatever your heart desires and also on your family. (Deu.12:5-7; Deu.12:10-12; Deu.12:17-18; Deu.14:22-26). This is every month pay check.

2. Then Lord commanded that, every third month (ie every third month tithe), you should not spend this on yourself, this is the one you take to the his house of worship to the Levites or to the Priest (Deu.12:19; Deu.14:27-29; Deu.26:12-13).

So, even the old testament tithing was not commanded to be paid to the Priest every month or week, it is only the third week or third month or third year, depending on how you choose to pay it.

Now, some Christians may say....well they choose to pay it every month to the church...1. You should know that, by doing that, you are breaking the God's lay down rules on tithing....2. It is not Biblical or commanded of you to do that. 3. You are upsetting God’s balance by not spending that money on your family as he commanded. 4. Ironically, in your short sighted zeal to ‘’obey’’ the laws of tithing, you are at the same time disobeying them.

Though, since we are in the dispensation of Grace, you will not get the wrath of God for doing that. But don't go preach that is God's commandment and any Pastor who preaches that, does not have the backing of the scriptures.

So, Malachi is actually talking to Padtors and whoever collect tithes today....God is reminding them of their duties and responsibilities regarding the tithes they receives. Many Priests aka Pastors still rob God and the Nation today in tithes and offering by not following through with their commanded obligations.

I think I will take Apostle Paul’s version; when he said;

“My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

There, the conditions of His supplies are:
1. His Riches in Glory.
2. Christ Jesus.

Not according to your tithe. Peter was a blessed man, no record of him tithing once. If the secrets of his blessings was tithing, he would not have concealed it. Paul is another great example, in all his letters, never once mentioned it...you think he will not want his converts to get this blessings?

What the New Testament preaches is free will, given cheerfully, willingly..tithe is rooted in and commanded by laws and as such it is not free will.
