I think it’s prudent for the OP to tread cautiously, confronting cultist, even if they are one’s own blood is dangerous.

The issue of brothers of Jesus came from the inability of the Jews not being able to differentiate between brothers,cousin and step brothers.

So Jesus had cousin brothers only.

What you are trying to do, is to prove a negative; which is impossible.

Facts:
1. There is no reference in the Bible stating that Jesus did not have brothers or sisters.
2. There is no reference stating that Mary did not have other children.
3. There are many references stating that Jesus have at least a brother and at least a sister.
4. There are many references stating that Mary have other children apart from Jesus.

The greek word used in the new testament to description Jesus' brothers and sisters is 'adelphoi', it means 'from the womb'; which means Jesus and those referenced as his brothers and sisters are from the same womb.

But, the Catholics confuses this with the Hebrew word "ben-dod", which means 'son of a paternal uncle. It is the Hebrew that do not have a word that differentiates between brother, cousin, etc..they all use the word "ben-dod"....but Greek with which the new testament was written have definite words for brothers/sisters, which is 'adelphoi'. If the reference to 'brothers & Sisters" were in the Old testament, then your argument might have some validity, since some portion of the old testament were written in Hebrew, but the new testament was written in greek.

The Catholics believed otherwise and they have references that are not in the Bible and in their reference they believe that Joseph and not Mary had other children and these were actually Jesus' step brothers and sisters. This position is not supported by the scriptures and trying to use the facts in the scriptures to prove these, is like proving a negative, which is impossible.

First off, there was no distinction between brother, cousin or other male relatives in the ancient days. You can only tell if she had other children if the Bible actually mentioned that she or Joseph has other kids, but the Bible never said that.

Secondly, when Jesus was dying at the cross, he handed his mother to one of his disciples. Why would he do that if Mary had other kids? I mean, Mary could have just gone to her other kids now. And Jesus wouldn't have needed to even bother about such an issue since her mother had other kids.

Mark 6:3.."Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon, and are his sisters here with us?"

Luke 8:19 "..Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you,”

Jesus' brothers were with him at his early ministry, but he you search the bible afterward, he was essentially with his disciples. They were not there with him during the persecution, and it was not mentioned that they were there either at the foot of the cross...definitely none of them were one of his disciples...Jesus know John and he is the disciple he loved more and he knows that John was a believer....It is not uncommon for a dying christian leader to handle over the care of his mother to someone whom he loved and who is also a believer that has been following his around and who was also right there by his dying bed side.

You are making a rookie grammatical error in thinking that, the usage of 'until' in 1 Tim4:13 and 1 Cort 15:25 are the same as 'till' used in Matt 1:24-25...

1. Mathew was writing from a historical perspective and as a third person, narrating events that took place in the past and here Mathew wrote that, 'Joseph did not consummate his marriage until after Mary gave birth to Jesus'. He was giving account f what has occurred and was not quoting the scriptures, not quoting the old testament...Paul was writing as a first person giving instruction to Timothy do something until he comes. The clear interpretation of this is, Paul will give Timothy further instructions when he eventually came, but there was no indication that he did.

2. Mathew rendition clearly told us what happened on either side of the word 'till or until'...before the 'till' Joseph did not consummate his marriage and after the 'till' he did....you are clearly ignoring the grammatical implication of the inclusion of the word not. Once you include 'not', you are clearly connecting two opposite events or things...Paul in the writings you indicated, did not use that connection. e.g.

a. Kanu was popular when he was playing in the premiership league.
b. Kanu was not popular until he was playing in the premiership league.

The first statement only gave us the account of his popularity when he was playing in the premiership league and was silent if he was popular or not before then, this is Paul's usage in the writings you quoted. However, the inclusion of 'not' in the second statement clearly tells us that, he was not popular until he started playing in the premiership league, this was the usage in Matthew 1:24-25.

Finally, Mathew and Luke used 'firstborn son' and not 'firstborn' which have a special meaning in the Bible.

It is possible, you are over thinking this.

My guess is, she is above 18 i.e. an adult responsible for her own decisions. You should even be happy that, she went out with a friend, in that she is safe.

Though, it appear there is something particular that is annoying not simply that, she got a date, which is normal and I guess you took your wife out for a date before you guys married.

1. Are surprise that she was flirting? Most ladies do, they check us out, just like we check them out...only that, some do it codedly, just like some guys do it codedly..and some have more self control than others, just like guys.

2. Is it because she went out with a friend? You should not loss your peace because of this, more people have met their spouse through friends than you may imagine.

3. Are you suspecting that, she is an olosho and she used you guys for a ride to her business center for night? Then don't give her a ride again, so that, you don't become an enabler.

4. Is it because, she did not inform you guys before running into the night? You need to talk to her that, you guys care for her wellbeing and since the original plans was to go out and come back with you guys, she owe it to you and your wife to inform you; when decide to change the plan.

5. Is it the way she ditch your home-based friend for your America-based friend? That just showed the kind of girl she is, they prefer fertile soil or greener pastures. It is not her fault, it is just her character make up, many ladies are like this....or it may just be that, she is more attracted to the America-based than the home-based....either way, it is her life and she get to make her choices and live with them.
