sarrki:They live in a riverine area, this is not the first time of entering a canoe without a lifejacket for them, and this wouldn't be the last; in fact this is just another day in their life. I can guarantee that, some came to school that morning on canoe without any life jacket and it is very plausible that, they don't own one because their parents are poor and it's not a priority and that the life jacket on the teacher was a personal property purchased by her own money to protect herself in case the inevitable happens. I have seen countless corpers posted to riverine areas who bought their own life jackets and if you see a picture of them with kids like this carrying out their teaching assignment, you might wrongly judge them to be selfish. This truly a non story given the current situation in Nigeria. |

Mrkumareze:Am not endorsing what he had done either, and it is very plausible that he borrowed that money. |
blaqoracle:Nonsense, as if na him money; dem go use....when you want to shine or be appreciated, don't use other people's money or sweat. |
LifestyleTonite:What one puts on or does not put on will not come into question on the last day. Stop clinging to old relics of the old covenant. Let not your adorning be of the external...of plaiting of hair, putting on of apparel, etc...but of the hidden man of the heart with imperishable quality....says the Holy Book. Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgement. Jon 7:25. More so, these are actors and what they are wearing are costumes....men look at the outward appearance....but, the Lord look at the heat...1 Sam 16:7. |
If it is true, then I commend the girl; she took the right decision, she should go to Church and give testimony. |
rentAcock:It was deliberate, the man said he did it thinking that he will satisfy the wife sexually by doing it and asked for time to solve or revise it. The fact that he is jobless must have compounded the problem for the lady, hence she is throwing in the towel, but it appear that the court is mediating in a bid to resolve the issue and save their marriage. |
uzoormah:Are you sure Jesus has not come and gone and that, we are witnessing the reign of the anti-Christ already? Otherwise, how worst will the immoral decay be during the reign of the anti-Christ? I truly doubt, if it will be any different. |
dingbang:Na the new trick to shack Oloshi bi that, if person no hold money. The economy hash, everybody dey devise new methods of obtaining goods and services, without parting with any money. |
ogologoamu:The truth is, going through the scriptures as a gentile christian, there are bible precepts against us tithing, but to give our freewill offerings instead. We will all agree that, tithe is an obligation the law and that Jesus came to fulfill the law, thereby freeing us from the obligations of the law. The Bible also said, if we keep one law, we are obligated in keep all, else we are guilty of all, James 2:10. So if your church or you keep the law about tithing, do they also preach that you observe all the other laws? In Leviticus, when we saw the breakdown of the tithing law, we also were commanded not to shave our beards, to disallow ladies in the period from coming to church, to marry any lady we deflower and be stoned to death if we commit adultery...According to James' epistle, we are obligated to also keep all these law and if we don't, we are still sinners. Also, the way tithe is collected today is not scriptural, that was not how God commanded tithes to be collected and that was not how the Israelites collected tithe. There is no scriptural bases even in the old testament to justify how tithe is collected today...God commanded the Jews to pay tithe only in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th years, 7th year that is not Jubilee year. The 3rd year, they must come to the house of worship with their tithes and eat it before the Lord in his presence with the levites, poor, widows and strangers and that if their house of worship is very far, they should sell their tithes, collect the money, travel to the house of worship and use the money to buy 'whatsoever that heart desires' and eat those things with the levites, poor, widows and strangers before the Lord in His presence...Read the whole of Deut 14 for this commandment, especially from verse 23. Also, the 7th year is the year of Jubilee, the Lord command them not to tithe on the 7th year. Lev 25, lay down the Jubilee year laws. Now, one may say; I understand all that; but I have chosen to pay my tithe and pay it "this way...or that way...", The truth, is if you go by the Bible, you do not have 'your way' when it comes to the laws. If you had a say in the matter, then it is no longer the law. God commanded the Israelites to pickup quail and manna in a certain days, but someone for legitimate reasons, decide to do it their own way and were punished. And there is nothing like, the new covenant & Jesus death liberated us and gave us freedom to obey the laws about tithing, the way we want...You are mixing things up, you can't put old wine in new bottle. Is the same as saying...that, in keeping with the law that forbids ladies on their period from coming to church,...but as liberated new covenant Christians and church, we will modify this law and obey it at will e.g. we will allow them to come to only weekend programs and not Sunday service or we will allow them to come, but they must sit at the back or must not be close to the pulpit or sing in the choir or they shouldn't serve in the usher during that period. If you are practicing the law, you must do it as written. So, if you must tithe; go back to the old testament and do it according to the lay down precepts (don't add, don't subtract, don't modify) and also make sure to obey the other laws as commanded in the new testament. |
If that is how to have sex, then I must have been doing it wrong my life! They were just laying side by side under the duvet...Am even positive that, no normal man can get an attention under that circumstance with the cameras, lights, crews, pastor, mic, etc...it's like getting attention while taking a cold shower or taking a dip at the pool or beach, they don't mix. |
ObaFemy:Why bring the innocent child into all these? He is also a victim, and from the look of things will be deprived of her childhood and adolescence, if the authorities do not intervene. |
chriskosherbal:If they can't pass test at a 5th grader level, they shouldn't be teaching in the first place. No wonder the standard of Education is in the toilet in Nigeria. I had been blaming these students that, they are not serious hence their continual poor showings, until I saw the transcript of their teachers. There is a universal truth in the saying that, you can't give or impact what you don't have. Having said that, instead of sacking these teachers, they should be sent for mandatory retraining at each teacher's expense and should be made to rewrite and pass the same test before re absorbing them. Give each 6 months for the retraining and cut of salaries after 6 months, they can't get it done within that timeframe. |
bedspread:There are trillions of people who are more successful than you you, but don't tithe. There is no bliblical backing asking Christians to tithe, they are only encouraged to support the work and ministry of God. Finally, you are not a Judge to conclude that, everyone who tithes dutifully and is not successful must be wanting in some other areas. It is common sense to agree that, there are many who tithe and not wanting in other areas just like you, but are still not successful. The key to success is knowledge and not tithe...if you examine all successful men and women, you will find that, this key is the common denominator and not tithe. |
dohyn:America Passport holders does not need a visa to travel to Chile, except they want to stay above 90 days. He would have checked the condition of entry and would have realize that, his criminal history will prevent him from entry or he knew that fact and took the chance anyway. This type of stuff happens everyday even in vehicular border crossings between Canada & US, where visa is not needed and each side toss back anyone with criminal records try to enter it's territory from the other side. |
kingxsamz:OP get X-ray eyes, they can see through leaves and can even photogenically unclad any lady standing before them. |
femidejulius:Good concept, I wanted to add that...Average actually depends on your; location, surrounding and time....An 'average' student in Nigeria today, can get to a US Ivy League school or a new school/environment, surround him/herselve with the right crowd and things and can turn 'brilliant' |
petra1:I doubt if he is a true tither paradventure he is, then he is full of vain glory and have no reward in heaven, the same God commands that our giving should be done in secret, the the left hand should not know what the right is doing and the heavenly God will reward us openly. BTW, why is it not a little odd that; Jesus paid tax for himeselve and that of his co-Pastors (disciples) and never collected tithe, but those who professed to be following his footsteps flipped the script by collecting tithes and does not pay tax? |
R2bees:First leave the country and ask them to transfer it into your newly opened foreign account. |
The Delete msg feature can be abused and should be restricted to only deleting messages on your device and not messages on the device of the recipient. If someone want to be dubious and renegade on your previous agreement or take back what they had initially said or sent to you, WhatsApp have given them an avenue to do that and you will have no way of proving the original statements unless you take screenshots, which is waste. |
Seeker17:None sense, IP address can be spoofed by any fifth grader. It is not a reliable evidence, plus it is on record that the twitter account is still active while she is in custody, they should revisit her address and arrest the current user. It is very much possible that, those twits are coming from a foreign country e.g. US and spoofing a local IP address in Zimbabwe. |
I hate it when my phone is just 99% charged and stupid NEPA, abi Westin be that name takes light! I don't like coming up shot or been short changed even by NEPA aka DISCO. |
safiaaBUTTHOLE:Are you leaving in a brothel? How many roomies do you have there? |
Dranoid:Anyone can be arrested. I think what Festus was trying to say is that, he cannot be convicted. As for arrest, the Police can arrest anyone and even charge anyone, but they have to prove their case before a judge. |
lanaVello:Calling someone "my bae" does not mean that a relationship exist as proscribed by the act. The Fed have to prove that he committed 'sexual amorous' act with someone of the 'same' sex. BTW, this is a Federal law and not a State's; I don't know what concerns Lagos State with this. |
Statsocial:You know that is misleading & false. As it serves the rich in the population, who will be able to afford the high school fees and that, there are no caveats or special considerations for members. |
DanseMacabre:Women footfall is more advanced in Asia compare to Europe and there is more money in Asia....Look at the stats......this is a positive move for her and a career advancement both professionally and financially. |

KardinalZik:More like clomid or IVF or some other myriad of pregnancy related medical interventions, more so the babies appear to still be in test tubes... We have to chalk off all plausible natural/medical causes, before attributing it to the supernatural. |
xreal:Use common sense, it's called 'common' for a reason. Sadly, it's not common to all and sundry, hence some rhetorical aka duh! questions like yours all over Nairaland. |
You are not sound in the scriptures as you think.... 1. Lev. 27:30 was speaking about the old covenant and laws, alongside other laws as enshrined in the old covenant. If you must obey the laws regarding tithing, the Bible says you are obligated to obey all the laws. James 2:10, he that observes one law, must observe all in other to be guiltless. Lev 19:27 & 21:5 also commands that that, you do not shave your beards, hope you are keeping this, what about if you deflower a girl, you must marry her, if you commit adultery, you must be stoned to death...there are many more. 2. In Matt 23:23, Jesus was speaking to the scribes and Pharisees, who are Jews were still practicing and worshiping in accordance with the old covenant. The passage reference him talking about the 'wealthier matters of the law', which in another passage that he said, he came to fulfill....thereby freeing us all from the obligations of the law. 3. Deut 14:23; Talk about eating your own tithe in the presence of the Lord and not paying it to a church or pastor. It went further to state that, if the place of your gathering is too far, selling your offerings, covert it to cash..take the cash and travel to the place of your gathering and use the money to buy whatsoever thy soul desireth. Verse 29 talk about giving the tithes to the fatherless, strangers, widows and levites...Yes! you are commanded to split your tithe and share with the less privilege and not give everything to the levites every 3rd year. 4 Deut 8:18, does not talk about tithing...one can still remember and acknowledge God as the source of his or her wealth even without tithing and not everyone that tithes actually acknowledges God as the source of their wealth. 5. Deut 16:17 is talking about contributions towards the seven days feast of shelters or tabernacles to remember how God delivered the Israelite from bondage in Egypt and gave them a shelter in the promised land. This is part of the law that Jesus has fulfilled and moreso, if am not mistaking, you are not an Israelite. 6. In Mal 3:8-19, The Prophet was talking directly to the Priests who have collected tithes and refused to bring it to the store-house....No where in the old testament was the Israelite commanded to bring tithes to the store-house, it was the responsibility of the Levites and Priest to take the tithes from the people and bring it into the store-house. In Nehemiah 10:37-38, only 1% of the tithes are taken to the store-house by the levites. In Malachi, the Priest were not taking the tithes to the store house any longer, they were coveting them for personal use; thereby robing God and depriving the feeding of the strangers, poor, and widows; hence the Prophet is rebuking them. 7. This is a continuation of the Malachi passage, the audience here are the Levites and Priest, whose responsibility is to bring the tithes into the store house. 8. This is the general, selfless and willful given that is talk in the new testament. It has nothing to do with tithing. Tithing is strictly 10%, 'growing' in the passage, does not earmark any specific percentage of your income and as such, it could be zero, or 1% or 20% or 100%. 9. Don't mix tithing with freewill offering, Totaling two different things...Christians should give for the expansion of the work of God, maintenance of Ministers, but it is not obligatory, it is not mandatory and should not be coerced. 10. Mat 6:19-20, is not talking about tithing or even giving, neither is it talking about offering. It is talking of been heavenly minded, righteousness, Godly practices, etc. |
holysainbj:They are talking of testicles and not preek, you can still bleed without testicles, only that no sperm. The real question is, for the male since the expulsion of sperms signifies climax/round; without testicles/sperms, what determines climax/rounds of bleeding? |
