We pay tax, anyone who says otherwise is either delusional or out of touch with reality.
The numbers disagree with your assertion as we have one of the lowest tax to gdp rates in the world.

PS* Interesting to see that most of the countries are the bottom are natural resource-rich.

This shows that the fixation with oil revenue is misplaced. Non- oil revenue is what's keeping the govt running.
And we know the non- oil revenue consists more of different kinds of taxes.
Who said Nigerians don't pay tax?
You are right but almost 40% is still a lot and we have had record low daily oil-output. Hopefully with more investments & improved security the figures should improve which should also significantly have a net-positive effect on other sectors like agriculture, blue economy e.t.c

Assuming he’s wrong, he will still not change his identity and the way he writes his article. Reno Omokri is a typical example of Farouk kperogi too. Most of these propagandist are always post to create more attention and huge followers to their side.
Assuming you are right how will he get the ultimate reward which is a contract/reward from tinubu considering that malicious line? We can both agree that whatever attention/reward this article will get from the masses/followers is nothing compared to a reward from government.

stop believing people like that joor. Now you said you were believing Reno Omokri before until you see some lies and propaganda he’s blowing of recent that is not tallying with your the truths you know. You stop believing in the lies and propaganda of man. Farouk kperogi lies and blow more of his propaganda here in order for people to follow him up on the social media space. Nigerians knows this tactics of some diasporas living abroad. Farouk kperogi is looking for favours from Tinubu government sake way Reno Omokri Is looking for favours by defending Tinubu on the media space.
Assuming this your logic is right Farouk kperogi will not insinuate that he changed his Identity because that line negates whatever benefit this article could have afforded him.

Congratulations balabloo-blu-bulava heroin drug baron but there are still more questions for you;
-When did the you noticed your name or student information wrongly entered and why did it took you donkey's years to get them rectified?

-Was this also responsible for your drug running criminality of 1993 wherein a staggering $460,000 forfeiture have to be entered for you as plea bargain? Does this battered nation still need a man of your kind with this dirty controversial past in the office of the President?

What precedence are you setting? That Abba Kyari can also occupy this office one day as Major-General Biu once said; "a repentant BH terrorist can become the president if he laid down his arms and surrender."

Why were seen parading election-vote-inducing bullion vans of cash on the eve of a crucial presidential election for which you arrogantly said "it is my money and I can do whatever I like with it"

Was this CSU saga also responsible for your assenting and appending your signature to falsified information under oath during submission of your information to INEC in 1999 when you're contesting for the Lagos State governorship?

Interestingly why was Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi charged, prosecuted, convicted and jailed for that criminality? Why did even Festus Keyamo that prosecuted you for that criminality suddenly became your right handed man? While Gani Fawehinmi that took you to court had his case dismissed based on technicality?
Can you provide proof to ascertain that Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi was Jailed?
Are you insinuating that only guilty people are prosecuted?

Well if the naira keeps gets stronger , then it is a great news for Nigerians as things will be expected to get cheaper...but the reality is that there are no sensible economic plan by the government that will make this happen soon..that is just the reality on ground..

Fuel will soon reach 800naira..dollar will reach 1000naira...truth is always bitter..but it does not change the truth....nonsense government..
Your own theory is based purely on speculation or assumptions which is also emotional. Secondly, your assumption on the balance of trade is wrong.

LordAdam16:
Dude, the CBN is impotent as far as $ supply is concerned.

The CBN borrowed $7B from JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs to sustain interventions under Meffy. That liability has not been cleared.

A few hours ago, NNPCL disclosed that they had borrowed $3B from AFRIEXIM Bank to in their words, "support the Federal Government in its ongoing fiscal and monetary policy reforms aimed at stabilizing the exchange rate market."

https://www.nairaland.com/7805723/nnpc-secures-3bn-loan-stabilise

Let me reiterate. A so-called soon-to-be-listed privatized government firm is borrowing money on behalf of the FG to stabilize the exchange rate that's within the purview of the CBN.

The CBN is all hat and no cattle. If after perusing these publicly-available information, you refuse to acknowledge the dire state of our FX market, then there's not much else I can do to help you.

The rates will crash further. You can choose to stock up on cheap $. Or miss the rare opportunity. Your choice. We're all free men.

-Lord
You must think those that release the CBN report are stupid after 7 years of no report; they did that when it was most inconvenient. I will personally advise you to DYOR because those at the elms of affairs (president & his economic team) are core private sector players. They will move mountains to stabilize rates.

This will probably come as a surprise to you, but your "right to care" has no impact on the immutable law of demand and supply.

-Lord
Speculation cannot surprise me! Following the unification fx supply has increased by about 20% while total daily petrol consumption has reduced by 28% which should ideally means a reduction in demand or at worse price stability going by the logic of the immutable law of demand & supply.

Its Okay if Nigeria does not care about me but you cant legislate on my right to care about Nigerians. A more stable fx rate benefits all Nigerians in short, medium & long term.

Emotional being!

Someone told you the truth and bringing in sentiment,

The crash is just the market responding to the news of govt putting in measures to bring down rates; but the reality is that things needed to effectively stabilize the naira are not in place .
Well Speculating that 1000/USD is also an emotional assumption with no fundamentals.
Investment › Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by lionshare: 3:53pm On Aug 16, 2023
LordAdam16:
Currency traders are making a killing from the volatility.

In any case, the stampede may crash the rate to 810-840 in the coming days. The cyclical summer demand pressure is tapering off as well.

After the market realizes the CBN is all vibe and Inshallah, the surge to 1000 will resume.

There are no fundamentals behind the drop. The CBN's accounts are murky. They're bluffing.

The only new measure introduced so far is the CBN forcing remittances through regulated channels to be sold at no more than 2.5% above the I&E rate. Ordinarily, that should have minimal, if any impact; but the current market sentiment is akin to someone yelling fire in a crowded theater.

The rates should crash so shrewd watchers can load up.

-Lord
There are no fundamentals behind the drop but there are fundamentals supporting the increase to 1000 right? A good number of your likes do not care about Nigeria and Nigerians.

Ignoring the obvious insult as it seems it is borne out of frustration of not having any direct response to my question.
It is laughable that you run to the US for cover for the fact that you are not sure of what your political god is doing next to move the economy forward after the twin shocks of subsidy removal and naira devaluation. Did you ask Americans and they told you they only vote on "guesstimates" from roadside analysts and hallelujah boys? But that's a matter for later.
All the beautiful jargons you wrote, which you aptly describe as "guestimates" are further proof none of you know where your driver is taking you to. What you are offering is polemics and empty mumbo jumbo. You cannot say with certainty what your Messiah is going to do to turn this corner. You are just writing wild based on your imaginations.
That's the kernel of my point. The blind leading the blind usually fall into a ditch. Even little Isaac had to ask his father where the sacrificial lamb is, at the middle of the journey to the Mount. That's what i expect supporters of this govt, if they really mean well for this country, to be asking those they voted into office at this juncture. There seems to be no plan on ground being executed, and the leader of the nation who brought the present gloom as much admitted that. What is required now of sensible citizens is to ask questions about the way forward instead of shooting from the hips writing nonsense as if subsidy removal and naira devaluation will lead to economic boom of themselves.
You failed woefully to get the point. Very shameful!!
As usual tantrums! Zero logic

All these noise about over-bloated cost of governance makes no sense when you consider that our budget size is way too small for our population size. Its almost ridiculous in comparisons with countries with either similar population or GDP size; the focus should be on significantly improving revenue and investing same in health, education & infrastructure to achieve higher income for our people.

That's settled already. For you to be declared winner you must win 25% in the FCT. It is a constitutional requirement. FCT has s special status. APC weren't expecting to perform so badly in FCT being the incumbent party, so it took them by surprise.

Yakubu Mahmoud declared Tinubu in error and put the Judiciary on trial by saying 'Go to court', because he believes there are corrupt Judges who are pro-Tinubu and who would stand logic on it head. Will the Courts prove him right? The world watches keenly.
