JaroMan:
Let's get something right. If you want to analyze a model, even with biased mind, try not to sound stupid.
North West has 7 states and the raked in N79.1B
South East has 5 states and the raked in N52B
North East has 6 states but raked in N42B
North Central including Abuja is 7 states and raked in N133B, while Abuja alone raked N69.1B. Now minus Abuja' s figure, North Central raked N64.2B.
This north central figure underlined what Lagos is to South West. But ostrich won't agree.
So you didn't have issues with the performances of 6 and 7 states against 5 states, but think 5 states are parasites.
You must be from South West. I'm not surprised.
Just yesterday, your Lagos senator, Olamilekan moved in the house that since crude oil have been found in Ogun, Bauchi, Osun, they should belong to NDDC. But he deliberately excluded Anambra who has been given oil producing status, simply because the state is in the East.
Your penchant to attach yourselves to north against South East is ridiculous. Because, this is a zone you all think has nothing to offer. But will need community effort to fight them, if I'm a contest of numbers.
Let's go back.
We're you not shocked Osun have more IGR than Anambra? Why? What are the economic indicators that validate this claim?
Currently, we know Osun is preparing to go to poll and the governor must be in the news for good reason. These are PR stunts.
Because, nothing on ground shows Osun is financially stronger than Anambra, even when Anambra is Osun creditor. Yes, Osun pays Anambra ROI every month. Go figure that.
On the part of Anambra, the governor under reported the IGR because he is working on the airport and international conference center. And he always said "I didn't borrow for these projects ". He actually didn't borrow, but meddled with the state IGR when the finance got depleted.
You may not agree with me. But I'm telling because I know.
Finally, South East zone is a peculiar zone. What works in South West will not work in South East. No wonder with little IGR, salaries are paid and massive projects are executed.
So face your wonderful region where the game is: the more you look the less you see.
Please, educate me on osun paying ROI to Anambra & how the governor of Anambra meddled with the ROI?

CBN runs based on instructions from politicians and political office holders (believe it or not), it's hardly driven by data or fiscal or economic policies. Let me ask you a question, Barter by Flutter today still provide the same FX service on it's App and it's not limited by the CBN monthly $100 limit. You can buy forex there at card rate till now. Why do you think it's still operational? Why was it not sanctioned? Let's just say Agboola knows what he is doing.
The limit is not $100, Please confirm.

Both elites and the masses seek ways to influence institutions to make decisions that’ll favor them.

CBN is freezing accounts not because the coys are guilty of anything but because almighty want to "investigate".
If Piggyvest steps on the wrong toes, CBN will do same to them all in the name of investigating.

You must think those at CBN are illiterates. Yes, they can come for you if you step on toes but you’ll have to be guilty.

Population to feed-260,000,000
Farmers 3,000,000
257,000,000/3,000,000=86app.
So what you are saying is that each of the farmers should have been able to produce enough to feed 86 people and also feed themselves on daily basis and even have leftover/surplus.
Oga rethink, you still have opportunity to change your understanding
Where did you get 260million from?

Your assumptions while I respect it is not factual, south west is a traditional monarchy of multi kingdoms, approaching the aspect of a Mordern state is different, by tradition you are not a parliamentary people you are a monarchy, you can only think of the government system that can work given your history and in this case a parliamentary system can not work in Yorubaland you might think it should, well I don't think it can work whether by theory or practice.

First is the Ooni of Ife going to be head of State?, then you elect someone else to be the head of government, instead of that I would think the current state in the country shall be abolished and traditional kingdoms take over as states, where these kings can handle state police while the central structure handles the army, I can't really see a situation whereby the Ooni of Ife shall be the head of state while every other traditional rulers cede their authority to him that's how UK works.

Chill there are many reality that will unfold as these whole separation roots you will see many power shift and ideological shift dont think becuase Yorubas monarch are docile in big and complex Nigeria will mean they will remain docile in a smaller and homogenous Oduduwa Republic, the powers of these monarchs must be cut or you go the way of true monarchy.

Just don't shape the Republic now, evolve and be free first, even the temperaments of an average yoruba will change once you leave Nigeria to your own country you will become more responsible
Sincerely, thanks for the back and forth I’ll have to end it here as it appears you cannot stay on the topic unless you drive it to pander your obvious interests which I respect.

You keep putting words into my mouth, I never said South west shall be a parliamentary, i said south west shall be a unitary confederation with a constitution.

I also said you will assume that a socialist economy is the best for you until you practice it and swim in debt.

I said for a start there shall be much expected chaos and the first 50 years of statehood post Nigeria outht to be experimental.

So I don't know where you are picking your conclusion from, you are on the same school of thought of the people who has a certain outlook of their euphoric country like my fellow Igbos who pays little attention to pragmatism but believes and approach Biafra on the ground that Biafra will be a miracle.
I am not putting words in your mouth. Its a fact that from SW antecedents they are likely to be parliamentarian & socialist in both political & economic systems. Therefore any group that have such antecedents cannot be said to be individualistic....I hope you get my narrative now. YOUR assertion of individualism is WRONG.

As for my personal opinion of the fate of a SW republic! I think the discourse here is not about that, I have not opined any personal opinion thus far and I do not intend to. My goal is simply to correct your assertion on individualism.
Politics › Re: Sports And Politics Proves Igbos Team Inspired While Yorubas Are Individualistic by lionshare: 11:43am On Aug 09, 2021
AlexBells:
The greatest mistake South west made was running a socialist system in a capitalist Nigeria that's what stalled development in South West and you can attest to the fact that Lagos the most viable state in Nigeria and west is a capitalist economy.

I kept telling my Yoruba friends that Awolowo made a very great mistake, by instituting free education in the west and other free pecs, look resources are scarce and when you make education free you only mortgage the future.

Education materials are costly, teachers are expensive to keep and the resources is in the hands of the state, I know then it was western Nigeria and Later it could be western Nigerian Republic but the west does not have enough sophistication yet to run a socialist economy. Look at Russia, China is a pretender to be a communist state.

If you look very well, western Nigeria states have the highest debts in Southern Nigeria this grossly as a result of this socialist outlook to life and in a bid to make life a lot free citizens becomes too entitled.

Socialism is the hight of Succesful capitalism, it is a stage, you don't just jump to socialism if you do so at the long run you will be forced to jump back at capitalism and the circle continues, although countries like Luxembourg is not a socialist state their level of advancement makes available socialist atmosphere.

South West country or as a part of Nigeria should aspire for Capitalism maybe for the next 50 years, you don't just be a socialist country when you don't even have the capacity to produce shoes for up to 40% of your population, or you think the world is an extension of your socialist domain
From our interactions so far you have agreed that the SW region if it becomes a country will likely practice a parliamentary system of government & also have a socialist economic system.

This implies that your initial assertion of individualism is invalid logically. Therefore I can put to you that from antecedents the SW is more team-oriented than any other group in Nigeria.

Ideally the best of us should lead the rest of us. Only individuals who’ve proven their mettle should be trusted with the responsibility of taking decisions for the collective. The SW has shown times and times over that it’s puts the interests of the group above that of individuals and this ideology is what creates its political & economic systems.

AlexBells:
The future of South West economy for now is uncertain, first you will need a figure like the Sterlin of Russia a hard and revolutionary leader, of all the region south west has bigger job to do to get it right thankfully enough you have food that your populace can eat while the exceptional talents concentrate on solving the problem.

First you need to put China out of your borders by decongestion of Lagos of Igbos, this I believe should be through a memorandum of understanding with the Igbo country and you will have to forgo Lagos for good, by closing down lagos port and building a new port in Ondo.

Closing lagos port will have a riple effect and you will still need to barn some imports but that will put your economy and society into so much pressure it is expected.

Why open the ports in Ondo or Itsekiri, Ondo and Itsekiri will be the closest western port to the Igbos, the Igbos having a separate country which I doubt will not be Biafra that we know will have sea access but not enough for our import and export needs, we will make some western ports a port of call towards AlaIgbo abd there shall be joint initiatives in policing the waters.

This joint initiative will create a semblance of west African union closer to European union.

With Lagos put of the picture as an economic power but just a luxury state for the super rich, Ondo and Ibadan will pick up only then can you decide your type of economy, currently your economy is that of communist China.

You think Igbos are your problem but China is, it is only few countries that can overcome the temptation of China and there are willing Igbo traders available to be used by China.

I believe Igbo country will even readily work with you in decongestion of Lagos as far as you will import our finished goods and we import your food, other forms of both civilisation can thrive individually
Can I infer from the above that you agree that SW economic system will be more of socialism than capitalism?
Politics › Re: Sports And Politics Proves Igbos Team Inspired While Yorubas Are Individualistic by lionshare: 9:52am On Aug 09, 2021
AlexBells:
Now we can talk on this, South West used to be a part of Nigeria so there are things you guys have gotten accustomed to being in Nigeria and your monarch has gotten used to being weaker, the point remains that a pure parliament system can work for the Igbos but not the Yorubas.

Your kings are used to commanding an army traditionally and give these kings an inch and they will take a mile, Western Nigeria Republic will evolve to be more like a federation yet will call it a confederation.

Look these Yoruba kings are exceptionally powerful and if there is no constitution to strip them off some powers they can turn the parliament to power struggle, and Yoruba tradition is more sophisticated than that of England other UK kingdom, the British monarch can only be admired, adored and respected. But Yorubas and most African monarchs are also feared especially in the bases of spiritual repercussions on disobedience.

So it is not wise for Yorubas to adopt a full blown parliament system becuase the monarchs will decide a lot on who gets to the parliament from their kingdom and controlling the parliament by a monarchs let's say the Ooni or Alafin will be easier than controlling the entire people especially in a voting scenario.

The best thing is not a parliamentary system for western Nigerian Republic, a president or prime minister with more individual power is the thing that can absorb the power shock from your powerful kings, and if it fails and your kings begin to keep their army as it used to be, there lies much danger and with a parliament system it is very easy to do since the parliament itself is absolute.

So an Oba or groups of Oba can sponsor Bill's to make them return their army ofcourse that's what it used to be but only a well thought constitution can make that avoidable.

Bro just sit back and relax all these agitation give us Igbos Biafra or Yorubas Oduduwa and you shall find another 50 years chaos in these territories at which time people like us will just sit back and laugh again getting it right for a country is not simple that's why this trying time in Nigeria is expected.
I’m not disputing that in any political structure there will always be a tussle for power amongst the players. I think we have both agreed that SW will likely adopt a system with significant resemblance of the textbook parliamentary form. This answers to the political system that will be prevalent.

I asked a question on the type of economic system that will be adopted. Kindly answer!

First of all, I did not say that it will be parliamentary, I said it will be a unitary confederation, a parliamentary system is about the absolute of the parliament with no strong constitution, I don't think the Yorubas are stupid to adopt the UK system in a whole it also got its flaws, it won't be a parliamentary system.

The UK has only one monarch, the UK is a Confederate kingdom not confederate kingdoms, you remember that the queen of England is also the queen of scotland, remember the Unification of the kingdom of Englabd and Scotland during the time of Marry the queen of scotlabd and Elizabeth the queen of England.

Yorubaland has more than 3 first class monarchs so there shall be a constitution, the parliament can not be absolute like seen in UK.

Then more power shall lie in the hand of an exceptional individual in Yorubaland to be known as the president or the prime minister just as seen in Germany
What I want to establish is that primarily SW will not operate a presidential democratic system like the USA and I think we both agree on that. I’m certain there will be certain uniqueness of its form of parliamentary system which is all about teamwork.

Lastly, which economic system do you think will prevail in a SW country; capitalism or socialism?

*** I presume we can both agree there’s no absolute system but every one has either capitalistic leanings or socialist leanings.

Most likely a Unitary confederation like the UK, the ceremonial monarch and a prime minister which could also be referred to as president for familiarity sake
If you can predict that parliamentary system will be adopted, does that not invalidate your assertion on individualism?

No you don't have to bring any Koboko, the electoral collage even makes it more interesting, that's if you quite understand the electoral collage system, even the electoral college is an extension of exceptional individualism, where the individual public handles their voting responsibilities to even a more exceptional individuals to finalise for them, that's not team work that's narrowing up the individualism, don't make blind arguments, forget whether my fellow Igbos or your fellow Yorubas said what they said, they all have an Eldorado mental aspect of their people noting that's is usually holds little truth and usual Utopia
Interesting perspective generally, I’ve a question for you. Considering the antecedents of the SW, if SW becomes a country today which system is it likely to adopt ; parliamentary or presidential?

Just because he picks his ministers does not mean he’s not working as a team. Actually it’s to ensure he functions well within the team structure. It’s imperative for the president to select ministers that he knows and works best with as a TEAM.

This is borderline insanity, you keep doubling down on your wrongness and falsehood. Heed to correction and be better for it.
Replace this word president with prime-minister. SW had a regional assembly led by the premier, that should provide a better context of team-work.

The masses should support the new bank MD, their objectives seems to democratize through fin-tech the financial sector by using tech to bypass excessive regulation and ultimately give the masses financial inclusion.
