Nigerian banks are too fragile. They can hardly survive any downturn in the economy without massively laying off staff.

Some of these banks also bite more than they can chew. What Access bank is going through now reminds me of my little stint with BankPHB.

BankPHB acquired spring bank late 2008 in a very hostile manner. Billions of depositors funds was committed into the acquition. By March 2009, the bank was already distressed and laying off staff. The hostile nature of the takeover also made it impossible for the quick integration of the operations of the banks. There was also the effect of the global meltdown and crash of the stock exchange market that year.

By the Sanusi came in as CBN Governor around June, the bank was already a mess. He did not bother to romance the problem, he simply killed the bank and other banks that were then struggling to survive the global meltdown and crash of the stock exchange market by late 2009.

Hopefully, Access bank won’t go the way of BankPHB.

Okowa mourns Bishop Emuobor, condoles CAN

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta on Monday condoled the Christian community and Urhobo nation in Delta on the passing away of popular cleric, Bishop Diamond Emuobor.

Bishop Emuobor, who is Presiding Bishop, President and Founder of Trinity Gospel Mission, Ughelli, reportedly died on Saturday night at 76.

The Governor said that the renowned cleric's demise was shocking because there was no report that he was sick before the incident.

He said in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika in Asaba, that Emuobor's death was a huge loss to the Christian community in Delta and the nation, especially for his vibrant teachings and his wise counsels at all times.

He commiserated with the family, Christian Association of Nigeria, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Okpe kingdom and the entire Urhobo nation on the demise of the renowned preacher.

The governor urged them to be consoled by the legacies of integrity and sound biblical teachings that the deceased espoused, working in the Lord's vineyard until his final breathe.

He assured the family and the Trinity Gospel Mission of the support and prayers of his family, Delta Government and people of the state at this trying period.

"It is with great sadness that I, my family, the government and people of Delta commiserate with the Christian community, the Emuobor family and the entire Urhobo nation on the passing away of Septuagenarian cleric Bishop Diamond Emuobor.

"He was a strong voice in the Christian community where he bestrode like a colossus in God's army, teaching the word of God without fear or favour.

"His death no doubt is a great loss not just to his family and the Trinity Gospel Mission but to our state and country nation. His teachings and support to governance will be evidently missed.

"I recall with gratitude his contributions to my election and his outstanding voice on national issues.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and members of Trinity Gospel Mission that the soul of the deceased repose peacefully and the family given the fortitude to bear his demise," the governor said.

I have always tot of obaseki as smart but this pandemic has shown a weak side of him unless maybe he is down with the virus himself.

I cant agree less... The governor has exhibited a high level of cluelessness.... He fears a lockdown in the state could affect his election(cos the common man on the street will raise their voice... Typical of illiterate Nigerians).
Edo state amongst southern states has the lowest level of compliance to anti-covid 19 spread measures. Obaseki's task force chase people from the market with a claim that they want to ensure social distance, move them into empty fields without ensuring social distance compliance... Traders still cluster in body to body proximity in the new trading grounds. Obaseki has never gone round local govts to see if compliance is being implemented.
No face masks yet people move freely...

I purposely registered a new name because of this story so that many people especially potential husbands can learn from this. I'll like to narrate the story in details so I want you to follow me.

It all started in 2011 when my brother got a contract job in Abuja. Then he met this lady when he went to our home town during a leave but she told him immediately that she can't date him because she's short but he kept persuading her as usual.

As time goes on she started crying that she is unable to pay her 300k school fees because her father is dead and her mum is not buoyant enough to continue the payment and she may withdraw as a result of this. So he offered to sponsor her education from 200level till she graduated and she agreed to date and later married her in 2014.

To make the long story short, he later got her and her two siblings well paid federal government job through his office and later got her a car. Less I forget that their marriage produced two children (a boy and a girl) in five years.

Unfortunately for him his contract job was terminated three months ago and he decided to give her 200k so that they can manage it for four months for food stuff and house keep but she told him that the money has been exhausted after two weeks. This caused a little quarrel and she decided to leave the house with both children and went to spend the week in a hotel.

This spark an annoyance of my family members and we decided to send two of our elderly brothers to her mum in our home town but the woman started sparking that she didn't wanted to marry him in the first place because he's short but she was the one that persuaded her to marry him.

They later had another quarrel last month and the lady took the children to her mum in the home town through a flat without informing the husband and any of our family member. So we decided not to call her and a court letter was issued to him for request of termination of the marriage.

Now the marriage is terminated and my brother is seriously depressed.

I really learnt a lot of lesson from this.

Ending the marriage is normal for Nigerian Ladies but going with the kids? I will send somebody to heaven even if it means Jail..
