I would advise you not to collect any loan on anyone's behalf. Your salary can't pay back that 500k in 2years. Not even talk of the interest.

Nelchuksmandela:
Good day Niralanders,

I need your sincere advice on my present situation.
Please ignore any grammatical error or punctuation. I’m the first son of my family, my father is an average Nigerian trader, he single handedly sponsored my schooling from nursery to higher institution.

After my service year, one of his friends scammed him of 300k in the name of they will get me a job in NUPENG before he paid that money I told him my pastor’s revelation about the NUPENG job, which my pastor said She does not like the job and shared ill references associated to the job with me and I told my dad when I got home, he countered and rebuked the revelation, he doesn’t take any of our advice, he finally fell for the scam.

To cut the long story short, I’m now working class that earn 75k monthly, however I’m still squatting with a friend and I’m still struggling to survive.

Recently I received a call from my dad, he told me he needs 500k for trading, that he wants me to take loan on his behalf he will be paying the debt once it’s due, since he is yet to complete the outstanding loan he took from the same bank, which is remaining 3 months to complete. I later discovered he had another debt he’s still servicing (Paying ) of a different bank that is remaining 6 months to complete.
After pondering over it i asked him; what if he defaults what will happen ? he shunned me and said why will I be negative and I politely told him my mind that I cannot help the current issue. Since then he started reporting me to my mum relatives to talk to in order to accept and collect the loan of 500k on his behalf.

Please your advise on this will be helpful.
Thank you.

Dear________
We would like to remind you that the pre-selection process is currently running, according to our Terms and Conditions. The next stage would be the
receiving of a written invitation (or refusal). In this regard, you could accept a phone call from abroad or you could be invited for example to
provide additional documents.
As always, it's good to plan ahead.
Before you make any firm commitments to working abroad, check your personal finances to have a good idea of just how much you will be earning both at
home and abroad and if you're prepared to cover the financial expectations of making the transfer happen.
We suggest being intermediaries in the process of your individual application and consequently – your potential starting a new job. As a European
agency, we do not charge fees from job-seekers. The expenses for consular advice, paper forms and other documentation will certainly be covered by
applicants / by you. If you obtain a Written invitation, costs for the processing of documentation refer to the costs you, as an applicant has spent
to process and obtain important documents that the employer/recruiter and/or government officials / State visa service has required from you.
You will need something in the area of 40-50 euros as a maximum to cover the preparation of documents, the photos for the visa, the courier services,
etc. (please contact our online support team). Some of the fees like plane tickets, initial accommodation, etc. (until you receive your first salary)
will be covered by the European employers, as a rule.
If you receive a written invitation and if you adhere to the deadline and cooperate during all stages, you will most certainly be
Yes, no tax on food in western world, that's why it is cheaper in the western world than in naija

My question?:
Apart from accommodation, is food price more higher in Nigeria than in western countries?

Religion / Re: Chris Okotie: The Truth About T.B Joshua. He Was A Magician & A Sorcerer (Video) by Localordinary: 12:46pm On Aug 10, 2021
Np. You that can't manage your family, you are here saying trash. Hell fire wey dey wait for pass 1000⁰C. End time pastor

Insidenaija:
Pastor of the Household of God Church International Ministries, Rev Chris Okotie, has described the late founder of The Synagogue, Church of all Nations, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, better known as TB Joshua, as a magician who carried Bible around, Newspremises reports.

[url=
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kClX8izq_Zs]

Recall that Okotie, who never hid his dislike for Joshua even while he was alive, had described T.B Joshua as the “Wizard at Endor”, shortly after his death in June.

In a video shared on social media on Sunday, August 8 titled ''The Truth about T.B Joshua'', Okotie described Joshua as a man who projected himself as another ''Jesus''. He said Joshua was a fake prophet who went about carrying a bible with him.

“Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus. What is the truth about TB Joshua? Who was he? Was he a product of Christianity? Or a practitioner of shamanism? Was he a servant of the Lord Jesus? Or some itinerant religious quack? Was he a true prophet, who was misunderstood? Or a hypocrite masquerading under the habiliment of the Faith?” Okotie began

Anchoring his message on the Bible book of John 8 v 32: “…Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”, Okotie began to examine the life of T.B Joshua whose name is Joshua.

“Joshua took that name because he believes he is another Jesus. He believes that God sent him to our world to bring reconciliation between God and mankind, exactly the same way the Lord Jesus was sent, and that is why he took that name Joshua,”he said.

Speaking on the identity of T.B Joshua, Okotie said the clergyman fulfilled the pattern of Bar-Jesus, a false prophet, and a sorcerer according to the Book of Acts, Chapter 13 v 6:

“He is a magician, a sorcerer and calls himself a prophet. Notice he doesn’t call himself an apostle, he doesn’t call himself a teacher, he doesn’t call himself a pastor because if he calls himself by any other name outside of prophet, he does not fulfill the pattern. So, he must stick with that appellation. He must call himself prophet so, so and so… So, he is a magician who claims to be a prophet but he is a false prophet…,” Okotie said

Okotie went further to say that T.B Joshua went about doing philanthropic work just so he can be like Jesus.

T.B Joshua was buried on July 10.

Travel / Re: The Bad Behaviour Of Some Nigerians Abroad by Localordinary: 11:29am On Aug 09, 2021
You actually did a good writeup until your last paragraph. Please anybody can choose to travel to any country he or she wants so as long as you live there legitimately.

Blurpy:
I think the behaviour of Nigerians in diaspora needs to be curtailed or rather we need to caution them often as they are bringing more problems to us. I don't get how some people will be lucky to get visa to a more developed country and go there to constitute nuisance and commit crime to earn a living, some of them even plan before hand to go and overstay their tourist or visit visa and become illegal immigrants.

This is all shades of wrong, we are doing more harm to ourselves as a nation, we should stop that. Some parts of Europe, Nigeria is synonymous with prostitution, while India, South Africa, Thailand etc, a Nigerian is being looked at as a potential drug dealer, other countries like Turkey, Ghana,UAE etc, the scammers there have done a very good job in giving us a bad name.

Recently, some Nigerians in Dubai engaged in cult clash taking human lives in the process which ended up getting a direct employment visa ban on Nigeria.

Ghana, on the other hand has visa free access to Singapore, Dubai, South Africa just to mention a few, while a Nigerian passport holder will have to go through a lot of cash and stress just to visit these places.

I know the country is bad and most people are looking to leave, we should not go to another country to commit crimes, we are only making this harder for ourselves, we will all be stuck here with nowhere to go.

There's no reasonable place a Nigerian passport can take you without visa, even amongst the visa free countries and visa on arrival countries, there's still a high chance of being sent back at the port of entry.

Imagine Nigerians having to wait for four to five months just to get a response from South African embassy here, same Africa oh, just response, not that it'll be approved oh.

Please we should be good ambassadors of our country, there are a lot of Nigerians doing fantastically well in various sectors as medical doctors, nurses , in academia as lecturers, engineers etc, let us not allow the bad deeds overshadow the good deeds.

You'll hardly hear of a Kenyan, a Senegalese etc being caught in a crime outside of their country. The pressure to make it big and fast then come back home to pepper others is a contributing factor! We can do other legitimate business and still make money.

Stop going to Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey etc all in the name of collecting UPDATE to make it!. Please!

Red flag, how can you go for a 14 days quarantine in Ghana? When you are flying from Nigeria? Ghana government doesnt quarantine anyone from international flights, unless your test comes out positive to Covid19. Dubai is a no go area for now

kenodrill:
I did an interview with an online recruiting agent a couple of months ago which came out successful. The mother company is an oil servicing company based in Abu Dhabi, but however there are too many clause and inconsequential process attached to this recruitement. i will be listing the few i considered most vital and critical.

1)that I will run a covid 19 test in Nigeria before flying to Ghana

2)I will also fund my covid 19 test when I get to Ghana

3)I will be on a 14days quarantine in Ghana.note: food and accommodation will be provided by the company

4)after the 14 days quarantine in Ghana I will be flying to Dubai then from Dubai to Abu Dhabi

5)on getting to Abu Dhabi I will also pay for my covid 19 test.

6)once I start the job.I will be responsible for my feeding but accommodation will be provided by the company.

Note: I was informed that every amount I spent will be refunded and included in my salary.

My concerns are:

a) if the job is actually genuine while going through ghana- dubai then to Abu Dhabi?

b) why would they ask me to take care of my feeling while I'm there?

Please I need your kind advice and contributions.

mugnmuffin:
Dear Nairalanders,
I have an issue that has been on my mind for weeks now. My fiancé and I have been dating for over three years. I love him and he loves me too. We are physically attracted to each other. We’re both catholic but since I graduated, during my service year I gave my life to Christ, got saved and left the Catholic Church. So I’ve been a Pentecostal Christian since then. He on the other hand is still catholic. I subtly try to nudge him to consider getting saved, i.e acknowledging Christ as lord and savior and becoming born again but he is content with his laidback Christian life.

Earlier this year, he asked to meet my parents and I let him. My parents like him especially because my younger sis is married and they have been waiting for me too. They’re glad I’ve someone. However, after the introduction,I regret it. I’m now certain that he’s not the one. I think about my spiritual life and how lukewarm he is about the things of God, I think about kids and how we’ll raise the, with such differing views about God and I’m discouraged. I feel like I’m settling because he checks all the boxes on the checklist of physical attributes. Another mistake I made is, I didn’t pray about this decision and that worries me because anything that involves him,I just act with pausing to ask God, but I always ask God about other aspects of my life. So it’s like my associating with him is a minus for my spiritual life and that’s a huge cause for concern.

At this point, I want to tell my parents I am not convinced it’s him but I’m afraid of the disappointment this will cause. *sigh* I’ll appreciate your thoughts, comments, criticisms...
