That is a good question.

During the black death; preachers were claiming demons and evil for diseases. Why did they not claim the same when it was swine flu? See people rushing for vaccinations and flu drugs. Was it not science that changed their disease preaching?

You are right; it depends on how you define virtual. A videogame character is virtual. The character is in virtual world. The world itself is not real but it is a physical represntation of codes and programming. It is physical.

I live in the West (UK). There are families that dont beat their children and yet the children turn out good. Many upperclass children are rigidly taught manners both at private schools and at home. I am not saying the UK is perfect (as there are many juvenile delinquents), what I am saying is that, it is the family that fully affects the child.

Not really. In my own situation, I lied that I was a christian so that I could bash christianity. I was arguing in a friends house at a gathering in Nigeria. I was already on the losing side because I was bashing the idea of God and the fake pastors.

It wasnt long before I was called a fake christian and a devil. However, I was saved by my lie. If I had said that I was an atheist at the beginning, it would have been the end.

Now back to talking about evolution, the analogy of cards fails because every stage is a random number i.e. mutations are totally random and every mutation that doesn't help the species to survive results in the end of that species and hence the surviving species continue (survival of the fittest). If this is true, it would explain why people in a warm climate like Africa have dark skin since it helps guard against sun-burn so the theory could be that at one point people in Africa randomly evolved white and others black but black survived because it could adapt while white disappeared. But then on the flip side this should also be the same for Europe people should randomly evolve black and white since both can survive anyway, none of the two should be predominant. Hence we should have indigenous Negros in Europe as well. However this is not the case.(this was the point I made earlier that you didn't understand)

What we observe are species that adapt to their environment. This would suggest that mutations aren't mindlessly random but are specifically and consciously guided so that the organism fits in the environment. I.e. The gene wants to survive and evolves in such a way as to ensure that it does survive. Do you agree?

Consciously guided? Where did that idea come from? Most of our body parts are badly adapted to the environment even after millions of years of evolution. Most people can not walk on stones. I could because I grew up with a stony compound. Most of the earth isnt smooth. Try living barefoot in the forest.

Your black and white story is just babble. It is more plausible that the first humans in africa were dark and as they migrated to colder Europe or North America, they became lighter skinned.

Avicenna: I was travelling in a commercial vehicle recently. As usual with people, they started arguing and debating all sorts of issues. Marital,girl-child education, female rights,corruption,same sex relationships , politics, just anything.
I was completely disgusted with the ignorance, sheer stupidity being spewed. There was no sentence without the word 'God' in it. All sort of ignorant comments,' we are being punished because girls wear mini-skirts'. God was claimed to be punishing us and yet they praise him every two seconds.
The driver kept implying that if we are going to crash, God will crash us! Most passengers sort of agreed. Some of them seemed to be poorly educated or did not school at all. All their views were incredibly myopic and disgraceful infact.
The problem is I could not even engage them as most of them were way older than me. Now, I kept thinking about a way in which I could educate them . The only effective manner I could think of could be used by an intuitive person among them to identify me as an atheist. This will surely lead to complete refusal to hear me out. And may even lead to violence with the driver. I see him as a muslim fanatic. My appearance like an islamic alfa won't help matters.
Now, I want to know about other atheist experiences in this type of situation. I specifically also want to hear the method you may use to handle situations like the one I found myself. YOUR OPINIONS/METHODs are appreciated.

In the UK;

Many people know what atheists are and so, they might not be that aggressive towards you and will engage in civil but heated arguments. There are intolerant bigots that will either ignore you or threaten you after you debunk/answer their questions on God/religion. 20% of people in the UK are atheists


In Nigeria;

You will get insulted if you are young or look young. You will also be threatened and become an outcast in an argument. The only way you can argue or debate with religious people in Nigeria is if you are very old. Nigerians respect power and age. They would be careful in insulting you

No, tithe is not needed to preach. John the baptist lived in the wilderness. Donations can help towards the upkeep of the church but we should not conflate that with the Gospel. Why must donations be money? There are other things; paying bills, donating food, providing services etc
