Evolutionists are ever known with propaganda. Finding every way to make cheap points. This has been your lot since last century. Evolutionism remains a fallacy, that is the truth of the matter. What cheap points are you making here? All I have written about have been my thought since the day I learnt that concepts of biology is built on this generational lie (Evolution).

Do you think for a moment that you're fooling anyone? Your lies have been exposed already

Are you talking about the analogy presented or are you talking about a generic game of cards somewhere else?

A general card game

Mr_Anony:
Wow, I marvel at how you reason. I have not yet fitted creationism anywhere, I was so far just pointing out how the analogy doesn't accurately describe evolution but your bias took the better of you.

You are using creationists talking points against evolution eg total randomness
Religion / Re: The Inevitability Of Evolution by logicboy: 1:51pm On Jun 08, 2012
Mr_Anony:
Understand me, The analogy implies that evolution can come about entirely by randomness. I disagree. If something is tied to survival according to you, How then can you call it random?

I agree

We are both saying the same thing, the analogy of cards presented here is a very weak analogy. Evolution is guided. Besides there is no such thing as "completely random or incompletely random" it is either it is ordered or it is random.

Too bad. Anyway we've moved past it now

A game of cards is both random and calculated. The shuffling of cards makes it random but you have to know how to add numbers to win the game.

Use your brain. Stop trying to fit creationism into common sense

This false theory about evolution proposed about 150 years ago by a man named Charles Darwin believed that all living things came into being by chance. Throughout his life, Darwin wrote books to make people believe this; and evolutionists are still trying to deceive others even today. But today’s science has proven that God has created all living things. In spite of this, evolutionists still defend what has been shown to be a lie. All these started when Darwin was young, he went on a boat trip. On this voyage, he thought he would find the answers to some questions about living things. While wandering across the islands, Darwin came across some interesting-looking birds with very attractive colors. After a long trip, Darwin returned to England and continued thinking about the creatures he had seen and how they came into existence. In the years that followed, Darwin continued his work. But the scientific instruments of his day were too primitive to let him examine the inner workings of cells. So, he made several errors. With his primitive scientific instruments, Darwin couldn’t see that cells were composed of several structures, which he could perceive only as spots. But caught up in this wrong idea, Darwin still had many questions to answer. Even though Darwin’s idea was erroneous, he thought it was true and proposed the theory of evolution. According to his idea, living creatures developed by chance from inanimate matter. First of all, an imaginary first cell inexplicably came into being, and then all living creatures supposedly evolved from this one cell. Darwin’s being an atheist exerted a great influence on his thinking. With this theory, he would advance a series of ideas that would give strong support to atheism. Darwin explained his ideas in a book, The Origin of Species, published in 1859.

I'll give you that. but notice that if evolution is not progressive, then it means that a species can also evolve into a less complex species i.e mammals can also evolve back into reptiles given enough time.

Adaptation, natural selection. Evolution is tied to survival no matter how random it is.What is complex? A mammal that lays eggs or not?

Mr_Anony:
Dawkins argues that the gene would try to propagate itself and it's kind, The analogy implies complete randomness

Not complete randomness. Survival of the fittest. The gene would propagate itself in the best host.

Mr_Anony:
You miss my point here. My point is If the analogy is true i.e. mutation is completely random, then evolved species shouldn't branch of so distinctly rather we should witness in the present day a much smoother blends across families.

You should try to understand the terms you are using. There are spontaneous and induced mutations. Evolution is not completely random. This is one of the basic misconception about evolution.

Mr_Anony: Good read I must say, nice analogy of the cards. It explains how evolution might be true as a result of randomness however this analogy has some flaws because it would be saying that
1. There should be backward evolution as well since the random cards can move in many different directions
2. Dawkins argument for a selfish gene would wouldn't work here since the gene has to have some kind of intelligence* to progressively evolve
3. There should be evidence of transitional species or 'missing links' especially living in the present day
4. If mutations are as random as they are claimed then organisms would have some needless mutations alongside those suited for their environment. For instance, Negroes live in warmer climate hence more melanin in their skin so we are black. A Caucasian on the other hand lives in a colder climate doesn't need as much melanin hence he is white. I the card analogy is true then, there should have been indigenous Negroes in Europe randomly evolving dark skin since it is not harmful to their survival anyway.

My point is this: Evolution is not unguided

1) Humans dont need their wisdom teeth and are stopping to grow them. A bit backwards dont you think?

2) Sorry, I dont know the context

3) "Missing link" is a colloquial term. The fact that you use it shows that you are lacking basic knowledge in evolution.
There are numerous transitional fossils that have been discovered. There arent any "transitional" animals alive for the same reason your human ancestors are not alive. They are our ancestors who where steadily changing into us.

"Missing link" is still a popular term, well recognized by the public and often used in the popular media. It is, however, avoided in the scientific press, as it relates to the concept of the great chain of being and to the notion of simple organisms being primitive versions of complex ones, both of which have been discarded in biology.[59] In any case, the term itself is misleading, as any known transitional fossil, like Java Man, is no longer missing. While each find will give rise to new gaps in the evolutionary story on each side, the discovery of more and more transitional fossils continues to add to our knowledge of evolutionary transitions.[4][60]

If you grew up in the 1970s, you may have a dim memory of “Chariots of the Gods,” an international best seller by Erich von Däniken full of dubious speculation about extraterrestrial influences on ancient earthling civilizations. The book, a kind of space age “Da Vinci Code,” inspired a goofy German documentary and, if memory serves, some earnest, anxious debates among sixth-grade protogeeks who shall remain nameless.

If you haven't seen the movie "Prometheus", you better see it! It has deep philosophical and religious undertones. Go to your local cinema right now

This movie has shifted me towards the agnostic side (sorry, Logic Mind).
I'm still an atheist but agnostic in the sense that unicellular organisms or other life forms that made our evolution possible could be our "gods". They might not be omnipotent (why are many extinct?) but they have a part in our evolution or creation.

The movie is about man's search into space with a belief that one could meet his/her creator to find the answers to unanswerable questions about man's origin. The setting of the movie is in space and on an earth-like planet in another galaxy. The scenery alone in the movie is magnificent with waterfalls, monolithic spaceships and blizzards.

I will not go further into specifics of the movie not to ruin it for people who haven seen it but I will give 4 perspectives of the movie.

The Christian perspective;

"How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number-living things both large and small." (Psalm 104:24-25)

God is the creator. While experiencing the beauty of the new planet and its weather in the movie, one has to stop and think about the sheer power, time and wisdom that would have been necessary to create it all. If there is an entity behind it, it has to be God;

the warm glow of the sun,
the calm flow of the clouds,
the serenity of the blue sky,
the diversity in living things,
who shall doubt your omnipotence, king of kings?

The Muslim perspective;

"God is the Creator of everything. He is the guardian over everything. Unto Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth." (39:62, 63)

In the movie, we see man searching for knowledge. Allah advises us to search for knowledge and through Him does all knowledge come forth. The end of the movie led to more questions. Only Allah can answer all questions for He is the all knowing; العليم (Al-ʿAlīm) the all knowing, the omniscient.

Furthermore, there are 99 names for Allah. Some of them are
- الخالق Al-Khāliq The Creator
- البارئ Al-Bāriʾ The Evolver, The Fashioner, The Designer
- المصور Al-Muṣawwir The Fashioner of Forms

The atheistic/agnostic perspective;

One does not have to appeal to God to set the initial conditions for the creation of the universe, but if one does He would have to act through the laws of physics. [Stephen Hawking]

In the movie, man searches for his origins. Man maketh his destiny and man is his own God. Who wrote the religious books? Man. Who studies science? Man. Who makes discoveries? Man. Who enforces laws on earth? Man. Who preaches these laws? Man.

Furthermore, in the movie, they used spaceships and computers to travel. This is science made and used by man to find his origin. Furthermore, the movie suggests that other living life-forms made human beings. This is not exactly contrary to evolution, scientists know that life comes from life. Human beings evolved from other life forms.

"Geology shows that fossils are of different ages. Paleontology shows a fossil sequence, the list of species represented changes through time. Taxonomy shows biological relationships among species. Evolution is the explanation that threads it all together. Creationism is the practice of squeeezing one's eyes shut and wailing "does not!."

Greek Pagan perspective;

The movie was aptly titled "Prometheus". Prometheus in Greek mythology represents man's curiousity and quest for knowledge.

Prometheus (Greek: Προμηθεύς) is a Titan, culture hero, and trickster figure who in Greek mythology is credited with the creation of man from clay and the theft of fire for human use, an act that enabled progress and civilization.

MR LOGICMIND, in ur country, when someone kills and he is executed by the law because of his crime, do u say the law committed murder.....
of course not, the law DID JUSTICE.........

Islam is a religion of jungle justice. Surah 4;89 puts unbelievers as enemies. Is that not wrong? You will claim that Islam is only against enemies of Islam but when you realise that America can do and does the same and say that they only torture "terrorist enemies of America" when they just torture muslims.

America- who is a terrorist? Bigoted American answer- a muslim

Quran- who is an enemy? Bigoted muslim answer- a non-muslim

You are as corrupt as the infidel west you dislike.

Tell me, if Islam is a religion of justice, why is slavery not Haraam in islam or the Quran? Why were all the major muslim/sharia countries behind the West in abolishing slavery? The west abolished slavery in 19th century. Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc did it in the 20th century

SO the killing of the enemies of the people and his prophets who had earlier went on a mass murder of new born sons should not be considered MURDEROUS.......
