greatbrian: This happened yesterday morning, I had a flight to catch at the airport by 9 and I left Ibadan past 7 with my Toyota corolla sport. Las las Ibadan traffic dey mild and as I entered that Lagos Ibadan express way oboy Audi mode activated. I was doing around 140 to 150 when I heard a loud bang and gbagbagbagbagbahba. In sub seconds my brain processed that na tyre and if I match break oboy the car go start acrobatic display. Las las I drag gear for neutral and car came to stop after few seconds. Damaged my bumper, sand protector and some part of the rim.
Next time I will make sure I don't go above 100 with a corolla that's if there will be a next time with one.
And the breaking system is just so stupid and all. I wonder how corolla lovers cope Most mistake Nigerians always make is assuming that a Toyota corolla badged as "Sport" can do what a V6 or V8 engine does. Na God save you o. So did you finally catch your flight? |

Arrest Sheik Gumi, and 50% of the problem is solved.

When dealing with a female boss, one thing you need to master is your emotions. Forget your ego and stoop to conquer. Make sure you always compliment them. Anytime she make a decision, flatter her and say you look up to her. Bingo! You're starting to getting her fall into your trap. She will start thinking about you. Don't stop there, buy her gifts. Compliment her. Make sure you know more about her. Make her a friend. Be interested in her like a family. But never lose yourself. Be professional in your work. Car Talk › Re: My First Experience Picking Up A Car From Tincan Port, Lagos To Port Harcourt by lonelydora: 9:17am On Sep 17, 2021 |
Naija8240: “My first experience picking up a car from Tincan Port Lagos to Port Harcourt”
The day started off with me picking up the car from Lagos Port. Thereafter, I proceeded to register it to avoid unnecessary interception from security personnels on the road ensuring all necessary documents were in check.
Knowing how the system functions, I was advised to keep some cash handy for some security personnels I’ll meet at various checkpoints. What I encountered on the road didn’t seem like extortions . In fact! One can say the police, army and every other security officers that are suppose to protect lives and properties of our dear country are the people robbing us.
How did we get here? Nigeria security services have destroyed this country! There were about 23 check points all filled with police ,army and customs on the high way. Each had a particular amount stipulated to be paid. I met like 9 custom officers checking for duty papers. Each asked for a “1k non-negotiable fee” as that was a standard for them. Then the army took 200 naira at each check point.
The police are the worst! These guys are hardened criminals disguised in uniforms to operate legally on the road. They have no mercy. I spent 2-5k each at checkpoints. I ran out of luck as I approached Benin where the bigger problem started.
I got to a checkpoint and was told my car is tinted and the registered plate number didn’t reflect on their system. I was taken to their station and asked to pay the sum of 100k. I looked at heaven, left and right for help but none came. I started negotiating the extortion, and we ended up at 40k. After paying I was allowed to leave and so I continued my journey hoping this time the extortions were over.
As God answered my prayers, I didn’t meet any Custom officer from Benin to Port Harcourt just police check points. In total, I spent 98k on extortions and it saddens me. The questions that still lingers in my head is “why Port Harcourt and Warri Ports are still not functioning till date”? Why do our Politicians Politicize everything in this country? If not politics, tell me why the Ports in the South are not operating? There are lots of readjustments to be made especially where citizens in my country have accepted extortion as norm. We need to do better!
God bless!! Why didn't you give that car to dealers to bring for you? You are lucky they didn't try to steal the car sef. |

Car Talk › Re: I Left Front Seat For My Friend's Wife But She Cautioned Me by lonelydora: 1:20pm On Sep 14, 2021 |
Stankovic22: Good evening nairalanders!
This is what happened. A friend of mine who is like a brother to me and has impacted my life positively in every way bought a new car. We work together and live in the same neighborhood so we go-to work together.
It happens that I do sit in front with him always while the third guy stays at the back. So today, on our way back from work, the wife called for him to come pick her and when we got close and stuck in traffic, I decided to vacate the front seat and move to join the other guy at the back but while trying to go my friend was like guy where u dey go... I say I wan create space for Iyawo and he was like Wetin dey worry u, sit down jor but I insisted and went to the back.
So when we beat the traffic and picked up the wife she was like why is the front seat vacant and my friend said... He left the seat for u... The wife was like, please its wrong, that I shouldn't have left.
I was like its your space and I felt it was the right thing to do, to join my other guy at the back before we get to you.
People was I wrong to have vacated the seat? You are not wrong. Both your friend and his wife tested your "having sense" level and "gentleman-ness" and luckily you passed. That was a test, bro. That couple will start respecting you as from that day |
