The last time I checked, Amotekun was hired and trained directly by the 6 governors of the south west.

They were also empowered by their respective state legislatures.

The governor's of Oyo and Ondo even wore Amotekun uniforms on the day of their inauguration.

What else do you want sir undecided
it is sad that people support stupidity. How can a supposed security outfit say they are gonna punish those who speak Yoruba incorrectly. That shit is dumb bro!

Ogbeni, you and your uncle ate someone else's food. How's that a miracle?

So this thing that's doing you didn't start today. Your historical materialism could be traced back to 1956. This has gone a long way in unraveling why you and your likes have become so proficient in eating peoples food, tithes and offerings in the name of something something.
It is really irritating to see how stupid these folks are. Maybe the person the food was meant for eventually died of hunger, who knows. My point being religion indeed make men outrageously stupid.

Lol! The same people that couldn't colonize tiny Covid-19, are thinking of colonizing Mars.

Be there deceiving yourself, don't repent. When the day comes, you'd see how foolish you'd look for thinking such a thing.
It is called scientific process.

Do Nonvirgin Men Have The Moral Right To Condemn Nonvirgin Women?

When the hypocritical Pharisees brought a woman they claimed to have caught in the act of adultery to Jesus, and said Moses had commanded them to stone her, but what does He have to say?

Jesus said to them:

"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." {John 8:7}

I believe that what Jesus said to those hypocrites also applies to all those hypocritical men (Christians) who find no error in being nonvirgins, but want to crucify women who are nonvirgins like them. Because in this case, they don't only have "sin" but they have committed the "same sin" as those they condemn.

Hence I believe that nonvirgin men have no moral right to condemn those women who are also nonvirgins.

Jesus said:

"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned... For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6:37-38 (KJV)

God bless.
it’s funny that this is still a conversation in 2020. People are thinking of how to colonize Mars, we are deliberating on virginity.

While I am against the attack on private businesses, I think it serves as a reminder to those who are better off that if you do not help to highlight the gross injustices going on in the society, you will not be spared when the chickens come home to roost.
Politics / Re: Fashola: Nigerians Disappointed As They're Looking For Results In Wrong Place by Lotechi(m): 8:17pm On Oct 04, 2020
NGpatriot:

You should have listened to Fashola because this is the responsibility of your state governors, not the FG and on top of that, the FG sends allocations to your governors every month specifically for that purpose.

Provision of basic amenities is also the reason why your state governors collect IGR.

It is you who is unfamiliar with the responsibilities of the FG and even state governments.

What are the responsibilities of your state governors? Do you even know?

The fact that you hate the president or the federal government doesn't mean you shouldn't know your rights and the responsibilities of your state governors.
I think I should school you. We are talking about electoral reforms, sound economic policies, True federalism, decentralization of power, judicial reforms, smart investment in electricity and fixing critical infrastructure in the country. These and many more are the responsibilities of the federal government.

Ehiscotch:
Nigerians can throw a fit and don't know how to react rationally.

Fashola just said the truth really but Nigerians take pride in being antagonistic and they love the Deja vu; I guess there is a thrill to it embedded in us.

Basic amenities like that are to be covered by the State Government. The FG can't be everywhere and they embark on projects that take years to accomplish: rails, roads, ports etc.

Nigeria has so much challenges that a government can achieve so little in eight years, especially with corruption so endemic and institutionalized.

Listen(sic), before you mention. You would keep moaning and groaning and wailing for eight years of Buhari and then the next government and then the next, until you realise the fundamental details of governance and hold them sensibly to it, devoid of emotions or sentiments or prejudice.

I feel a need to reemphasize. This is NOT about APC/ Buhari or what no. I am feeling the burning effects of the economic downturn but I am grateful to God for the ability to detach emotion for rationality.
you are very unfamiliar with what is supposed to be the responsibility of the federal government. Nigerians want basic amenities, and the right legislation which will make the branches of government function well.

omenka:
Sometimes, deliberately suppressing the rise of one's currency against the dollar is a strategy deployed by governments to attract FDIs. Nowhere else is this more entrenched than in China, which is one of the reasons behind their endless squabbles with Uncle Sam.

I am not really sure if similar strategy would augur well for Nigeria anyway, since the other factors necessary to attract such FDIs, such as dependable critical infrastructure, are lacking.

Come what may, I wish my dear country well. We'll come out of the current economic quagmire stronger I believe.
what you are saying is called currency devaluation, which has it’s pros and cons. But what this post contains is fraud being perpetuated by government officials. To add, there is hardly any middle income country whose currency is as weak as ours.

Nigerians don't know how to follow simple instructions, if not for fear of deportation, some Nigerians would have come out on the streets claiming they are hustling.
if Nigerians had constant electricity maybe it would have been easier to stay home, or if most people have the means to survive for like 2weeks without doing anything, then it could have been easier to stay home. The point is Nigerian leaders are to blame for the disregard of the sit at home order.

Yes, if it was still legal; but as it were, it was made illegal and anybody violating the law would be punished accordingly, after facing trial and conviction - much in the same manner Sowore is currently facing his own trial before Nigerian court.
Wake up and smell the coffee; you seem to be living in a different planet than with the realities on the ground - you break the law, you face the consequences.
this is my last response. And did you think it was just abolished? It took brave men and women to fight against the inhumane law. That is what I mean by citizens have the moral obligation to disobey unjust laws. I hope you are able to grasp the logic. Be safe.

So in your book of knowledge, inciting ppl and commencing a revolution is also a constitutional right?
You cannot eat your cake and still have it; its either you abide by all the laws of the constitution or jettison all of it; otherwise it will be hypocritical to pick and choose as you wish.

Get this straight; there is nothing in this world that has no limits, including your freedom of speech - even in America; try leaking a state secret as part of your freedom of speech and watch what will happen to you.
by your logic, slavery would have still been alive because it was completely legal in the States.

Indeed and I laugh at the hate-fueled ignorance of some here. Nigeria, with its huge number of unemployed, was already in big trouble. Added to that is the gigantic problem of many newly redundant workers and breadwinners who will now not be able to earn any wage as businesses and workplaces are closed to contain a dangerous virus.

We then have an economy that cannot sustain the provisions of the palliative that can make this compulsory sit-at-home lock down a health success. People should just let that hellish scenario marinate in their heads and try to imagine where we would be if this had to go on for months with so many Nigerians already groaning a few days into financially punitive lock down.

No one is saying we must literally print money today but it is an option we must keep on the table and use as soon as required to ensure we still produce legal tender, that automatically facilitates a reward system which directly encourages vital economic production to continue.

People forget that issues like inflation are only a consideration in a stable world where economic breakdown is not simultaneously happening everywhere, to every Country and at the same time!!!!!!

With others facing what we are and unable to help us will inflation be our worry or the need to keep vitally important internal socio-economic activities going?

You are absolutely right.

Politics / Re: Sowore: For Revealing That Abba Kyari Has Coronavirus Buhari Regime To Detain Me by Lotechi(m): 3:04pm On Mar 28, 2020

Freedom of speech have limits and carry responsibility.
Every citizen is constitutionally bound to obey the law and court pronouncements or otherwise pay the consequences of his actions/inactions.
The constitution also defined the way and means for which a citizen may take to change any law or government should he feel they are unjust but does not allow him to resort to self help - or else such citizen will deserve to be caged in a Zoo like an animal.
you got it all wrong. Freedom of speech means freedom of speech. Like I said, citizens are morally obligated to disobey unjust laws. If not for the revolutions in Europe, America and other places, we would have been stuck in the old ways.

By mere addressing Nigerians Sowore, just broke one of his bail conditions and idiotically compounded his case - he is allowing emotions override his common sense and ultimately jeopardise his freedom.
only in a zoo republic would a court come up with such ruling. Freedom of speech is supposed to be a constitutional right, and no court has the right to take it away. More so, citizens are morally obligated to disobey unjust laws.

Trash Clogs Drains. ...
Trash Pollutes Natural Resources.
Trash Turns Away Tourists.
Trash Lowers Property Value. ...
Trash Is a Safety Hazard. And not to talk about how those bandits from some parts of the nation are secretly executing their hidden evil plans in the south by killing, kidnapping, stealing etc all in the guise of a keke or a bike rider. Kudos to the Lagos government for this initiative.
the real nuisance are the politicians who have continually failed to come up with ideas that would benefit everyone. Solving the problem of existentialism is the primary goal before anything else.
