We learn everyday and ive learnt something new today. I did that because ive seen my aunts doing that for their babies. I tot the mentholatum wld give a soothing rellief and thereby making them poop. You can do it but not for long hrs and not after feeding him, so to minimize potty accident. Don't stretch the airing o cos children once they get used to something they love it to continue it

Well depends on the age of ur baby. I know I aired my daughter's bum from 6months. Just an hour a day and never after feeding. I also air my son and he loves it. When u bring him to diaper him he will run awaya lol. You can do 1hr a day sha

Pls my sabi mamas is it true that wearing diaper for a baby throughout d day and night isnt good? Some people said its only when the baby is going out that its necessary because it causes rashes and its good to free the bumbum at home. pls kindly talk from experience and if yes how wil i manage the urine and poo when at home without using diaper.

Yes i said Mentholatum and it works for my baby. Are u concerned about the menthol? Well, i use baby mentholatum and i think the menthol is not too peppery. Before i started doing that, i took my baby to the hospital and the doc inserted suppository into his anus and he pooped. I've used suppository before, after delivery when i couldnt excrete and it's peppery.
( hope u understand what i mean when i said peppery, might not be the actual word to use)

Dip cottonbud into mentholatum and insert inside her anus. U can repeat that till she poops. My baby poops immediately i do that. Try it cos It works like magic. Gripe water works for my baby too.
Also make sure she sucks enough milk fron one breast bfoe giving her the other cos the hindmilk which is more nutritious comes after they suck the foremilk.

I could help u diagonize the problem. Is your wife sill breastfeeding? Prolactin can have an inhibitory effect on the pituitary releasing of FSH and LSH.. Still 14 months is a long time....

Go easy on the sweets, teeth is generally weakest during pregnancy. Mantain a good dental hygene to avoid going for teaparty in ur dentist office.

My birthstory,so I was having small small cramps on Friday night and went to see my dr on saturday,althought I didn't suspect labour cos I was jst 36wks and some days,wen he checked I was 2cm already so inserted somtyn and told me to go home that wen it falls I should start coming,dat evening I started having pains and went I slept in d clinic,on Saturday I was checked I was 4cm I say haa na wa o,so I was giving a tab to chew d pain was getting serious and when dey checked I was 8cm dey took me to delivery room and said if I feel like pooing I should let dem knw,so wen d pain came to ma waist I was asked to push and my prince came out,althought dey tear me sha,mama's pls wat can I do to make it healfaster

Then some cereals re safe for 4month olds. There s nothing wrong in giving ur babies such cereals at 4months. I also wont personally quarell wt any woman who gives her baby pap at 4months. bt definitely nt 1-2months

Seriously mothers!!! Haba why in the woorld would you feed less than 6month old child PAP!! What's with mothers and pap I'm yet to wrap my head around it. My kids don't touch pap before 1yr. I totally dislike it. Let's not go with the "trend". Its clearly not advisable to feed pap to a small baby whose digestive system is not fully developed. A lot of mothers won't really tell you the side effects of this method but will come online and encourage u to join them in the "trend". Having babies aint a joke, you need to be ready all round. For, cereal, ebf etc.

Pls don't takee drugs not prescribed by your doctor. Its not advisable when pregnant. Pls kindly go get tested them take the recommended drugs given by ur doc. Meanwhile malaria drugs are given acc to trimester

Pls next time don't feed aa 2months old baby pap. I'm glad you decided to have your baby. May God give you the grace to take care of her.

I am a single too to an adorable 5 month old princess. I thank God I didn't bow to the pressure of having an abortion. That said, I started my little girl on pap aka akamu @ age 2 months (I mixed guinea corn and yellow corn) with milk depending on how many oz in the feeder and she did very well with it. I used Nan. Will start mashed local food when she is 6 months old. She already has her first two teeth.

She is six weeks right. You might wanna change your diet. Eat lots of fruit and let's see how it goes. You can also try "hot" water massage. Use your elbow to check the temprature if its too hot for ur elbow then its too hot for baby.

My dear my shoe size increases when I'm preg. It adds half size. It took time to figure out why my shoes suddenly became too loose after delivery. Well since then I have one shoe I wear all thru my preg period. Lol. The sandals/ slippers are still ok. If I were you I will save my best shoes and wear the less expensive ones.

@nurse kaffy & other experienced momas, please need advise on my swollen feets. I don't know if it is normal or if I am lacking or having too much of something. I just noticed the swelling yesterday and it has lingered till today.My shoes are becoming too tight and I am just 16wks gone.

My dear don't force it. Some babies just doont like pap. Rem to start with rice cereal and not maize/ wheat. Rice is easy to digest that's why its recomended as first start

When I had my first baby I flowed so much, I got worried. Now I realised I was unknowingly pressing my hands on the other side while baby was suckling. Lol. My pads were always full and cloth soaked. So check and see if your hand is leaning on the other side. I know must pads are they same. I used mother care disposable too it didn't stop d " over flow" till I found what I was doing wrong.

Want to ask about breast pads. I bough Avent disposable (6 in a park) but I realised that it is probably not absorbentenough for me or maybe I am the one leaking too much. My bra and cloth still gets wet and I mean super wet on the other breast once my baby is sucking. This is highly embarrassing especially now that I have started going out.

Any suggestions as to good breast pads? I have not tried the disposables though cos I think its an expensive option in the long run.

A friend advised that I put pressure on the second breast, it hasn't stopped serious leaking the few times I tried it.
