Baroba: Those nettle ( Volkswagen) were like 3k tear rubber, my old man bought one...Like my mum always say, The white man left too early... The Holy book in the book of Ecclesiastic, I think, advised that men should not long for the past, through their voicing the thought that the past was better. The past had its own problems, for example during the colonial times, you had little or no rights as an individual. There was a law against wandering which was targeted at native Nigerians. You could be jailed back then for more than three months if you were found wandering in an area like old Ikoyi, which was the exclusively reserved for the white colonial overlords. An anonymous Latin American freedom fighter was quoted as saying: 'Man is not just a stomach alone, but above all he hungers for dignity and respect'. We might have some goodies under colonial rule, but the human spirit can never be happy under a system of governance that was humiliating and curtailed most form of human freedom. |

BankManager: Good old days ...I still remember Kingsway... #memories That was a fun place to go, as you will enjoy taking the escalator upstairs, just for the fun of it and also window shop. They also had one of the best Christmas grotto back then and you were sure of receiving a gift from Santa. SAP economic program under IBB really killed Kingsway Stores and it's counterpart then, Leventis Stores, as the readily available forex in the second tier market enabled Balogun traders and other smart business people to undertake importation of goods and commodities which found their ways to newly formed local supermarket chains. Sadly, Kingsway and Leventis stores could not compete with the local supermarkets because of their high overheads. |

UrennaNkoli: What a president. A president who doesn't give a damn about his nation A president who dictates when to disappear from the country and reappear at his own will and convenience A president who addresses his country in his own local dialect meant for ''special'' people What a president we've had and hopefully, will never have again. Are you really the same person? I thought you were a die hard loyalist of this govt. |

elantraceey: Sometimes some parents do not know that words are more painful than cain, they must be living in a difficult situation and children most times don't understand this, instead of abuse they should be corrected with love.
Now this is were a mother's careless words have landed her child, What a pity.
Rip. You are perfectly right. I have a friend who told me that when he was a kid, he preferred being flogged to being scolded verbally by his parents. He said you could flog him all you want, but he will not shed a tear, but try scolding him verbally and you will witness a torrent of tears. I guess he was strong physically, but very weak emotionally back in the day. |

My cars Tyre was shredded by a sharp object on the road leading to Carter bridge, in front of Oba Idungarun, the Palace of the Oba of Lagos. The above event occurred at about 9:15pm, on my way home from work. Before you could say, 'Jack', many strange guys sprung out from the darkness. Their leader ordered me go pay them 5k for me to be able to change my tires or else I will see the back of my head. I think I gave them about 3k before they then assisted me to change my Tyre and then I drove off. |

Sports › Re: Arsenal Agrees £6.8m For Henry Onyekuru by lozanni(m): 1:40pm On May 31, 2017 |
dotcomnamename: I am sick and tired of Arsenal signing young strikers who are either to go on loan or play for the unders. Where is Asano Takuma that we bought last season, he hasn't played in the league at all, he was sent on loan, now Henry.
We have Akpom and there is an upcoming striker in the under 23's that I have watched his game and he seems like a very good and prolific striker too although I can't remember his name. But the question is, are all these players going to challenge Giroud or even displace him,.
Are they going to single handedly win matches for us, did they have enough experience to cope in the league and possibly Europa? Are they match winners? Are they combative enough?.... I am happy we signed Henry Onyekuru because I have checked his profile and YouTube videos but what we need is not upcoming talents, we need ESTABLISHED strikers, tested and trusted Strikers that can singlehandedly win matches for us, that can take us places not average players. We are a big team not teams like Crystal Palace, Bournemouth or other small teams. You could not have said it better bro. Arsenal really needs experienced players to go places. |
