Why cant anyone call Emergency line : 112 for possible evacuation to the hospital. People still need to be educated on.what to do in times of emergency. |
Congratulations to the new bride, its better late than never. |
Where are the parents of the girl who was flogged? Is the girl naturally rude and stubborn, which might have caused thel Proprietress to turn a blind eye to the whole incident? @Op, hope you are not trying to turn a mole hill into a mountain using the social media to your advantage? I guess the answers to all the above questions, lie in the bowel of time. |
You can not run from the long arm of the law - Song by Kenny Rogers.
The above is so true in this case. |
RIP to the young lady. All this stories of maternal deaths are quite upsetting; a comprehensive review of our healthcare system is needed. |
Gten:I blame the system. The absence of a mortgage system that is affordable and lets you own your own home in as little as 10 years does not help matters here. If you were brought up in a middle class environment, and you are a graduate earning about 50k per month, you might find it difficult to rent a flat in a decent area because you would be told its 500k per annum and you must make a down payment of 2 years plus agency commission of 10% of the entire sum, plus caution fees. The above causes young graduates to be stranded in their middle class parents homes, unless they (parents) offer to give you some funds to start off life as an independent adult. Some strong guys actually took the hard way to establish their independence by moving from their parents middle class homes to to face to face apartments before making it on their own to move to plush homes of their own or rent such apartments; however, people are different and some might find it hard to leave the comfortable environment they are used to for a strange environment devoid of privacy and comfort. |
escavros:Quite correct, a colleague of mine was properly educated on this by FRSC officials during an encounter he had with them. |
oloolo:I concurr my brother. Its Chukwuemeka's words against theirs; it could be a set-up by those ladies because he refused to marry them and not because he collected money from them. |
Naughtytboy:Chai !!! All those Afonja babes don hearam. |
Very appalling situation, everyday you will read about one form of sexual harrassment or the other. Btw, where was the accused man's wife when all the sexual harrassment was going on? Snoring like an over-bloated bag on the bed? This makes me doubt those girls accusations a bit. On a lighter note, the Court President's name had me in stiches: Everyman Eleanya. Lolz. |
FODA:Great Gunners !!!! |
Xaddy:Lwkmd. You dey very funny.Lolz. |
ollymoore:The guy has not heard of the case of the ex President of Cote Dvoire, Laurent Gbagbo who refused to hand over power to the incumbent President. Gbagbo is now a guest in the prison cells of the World Court of Justice at the Hague. I have always viewed Jammah as a very crude and dislikable person, long before this election, after watching some documentaries about the Gambia. His non-acceptance of the results of a free and fair election result confirms my feelings about him. |
ceeethru:You are quite right about monitoring suspicious movements to avert future bomb explosions. However, I wonder if the military has drones with sniffing or air composition monitoring equipment which can be flown regularly over the cities and jungles. This might be necessary to detect the presence of fertiliser, hydrogen peroxide and gun powder in a certain place as these raw materials are needed for making IEDs'. |
missKiffy:Dont mind peope and over-generalisation; that a few people, not up to 0.000000001% of a state commit some very grievious acts does not mean the entire state is cursed. |
raumdeuter:No, its very true oh. Maybe you have not experienced it. A relative suffered the same fate at the hands of his step-brothers who squandered the huge funds sent from the US for a mansion to be built for him at the Villa. Though the above mansion was finally completed, it was achieved at almost twice the cost it should have taken to do so. |
idupaul:A very brilliant analysis my brother !!! The reasons you stated for the failure of the automatic stability function in the RX 300 is why I always feel disappointed when I come across a tokunbo car without an accompanying user manual. Sometimes having a car manual (even generator manual, because it tells you which part of the generator to hold when attempting to put it on, in order to avoid electrocution) and reading it properly can mean the difference between life and death. |
Its only recently that I understood why my relatives and friends were repeatedly warning me against driving myself home for my traditional wedding. Even the date of my departure from Lagos for the wedding and date of departure from the villa was kept by close relatives with so much secrecy, you would have thought there were very dark minded people who were out to cause some mischief or harm to someone. However, the world is full of mysteries and we must be very careful as we navigate through the journey of life. |
johnreh:Infact, the speed they use on that Lagos-Ibadan Expressway can be so scary at times!!! The first time I drove on that Road, fast cars were over-taking me, both on my left and right, that I could not help but wonder if my car was too slow or something ( I was doing about 100 km per hour !!!). We need to watch our speed on the expressway, as the road is not a race-track. RIP to the dead. |
softMarket:God bless Igbo, God bless Nigeria. The hustle to make it is real and strong, but say 'no' to drugs and drug traffiking. |
divicoded:Na your Amala guzzling brother accent dey make me laugh. I no mention anything about conehead ohh. |
divicoded:Lolz. Konk Yooloba boy. Umuahia is now Umuhiahi, am sure you wrote that in Yooloba accent. hehehe. |
viviangist:RIP to the dead I was at Ibadan in the month of September 2016; on my way to and from the city, I noticed the indiscriminate parking of Trailers along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. I could not help thinking then that given the ways those trailers were parked, an accident(s) was just waiting to happen. The relevant authorities should please intervene by forcing the trailer drivers to park at designated parks to avoid needless loss of lives through accidents. |
TashaGirl:It might be a guy. I once had a flat tyre at Liverpool Road Apapa at about 12:10am. I was coming from a club on the Island, which had a live band on a Friday night, and really had a nice time there and so lost track of time. I forgot my car torch at home that day and the entire area was engulfed in darkness that I could not see very well to change the tyre. An Okada man noticed I was stranded and came to my rescue by pointing his motorcycle headlight towards the deflated tyre; that was how I managed to change the tyre. What gladdened my heart was that the Cyclist refused to receive the money I was giving to him, in gratitude, as he stated that he might be in a similar situation in future and that he prays a good samaritan will come to his aid |
seguno2:Its possible because the ShopRite people give so much publicity to any new outlets they are building, so that even before the commissioning of the outlet, consumers expectations would be so much inflammed. You will notice that on any day an outlet is opened, the frenzy by shoppers to get in there is usually so amazing as the whole outlet will be completely filled to the brim !!! The above is clearly a type of hype marketing. Also Shoprite tries to sell cheap, in order to have a high turnover of their products and in the end make very high profits, this is also a marketing strategy that draws consumers to their outlet. The above pricing strategy is used by the hospitality industry in Thailand as I read once that room rates, even in five star hotels there are very cheap, although it might also have something to do with their currency value, as its low when compared with the dollar. The above pricing strategy by Thailand has created a deluge of western tourists for the country and it has really boosted their foreign earnings. |
seguno2:Yes, demand creates supply, but sometime hype through 'media manipulation' can create demand for a product, we only need to look at Apple's iPhone series to know the power of the media: the unexplainable rush to queue for a prodduct that is yet to be released to the market. I wonder too why nothing has been down to really convert Elegushi beach to a tourist haven, seems they are more interested in hotel development which is very, very lucrative as you are assured of almost 100% occupancy rates; for all the lodging accommodation available in hotels around the VI and Lekki Axis. |
sod09:Lolz. I wanted to ask: 'who is that over-grown baby being carried on the back?' Seriously, our investors should sink in funds into tourist attractions like this beach in Ondo and then create a media blitz about it, both locally and through the international media. Gradually, tourists will start patronising the place, especially if adequate infrastructure like international standard hotel accomodation, communication, security, logistics etc are put in place. |
Florblu:Maybe the lady wanted to go and shine with her ex, one final time, before tying the knot. Those who are married will tell you the temptations they face, a day or two to their weddings. In my own case, beautiful women were surfacing left and right, I was almost tempted to use my traditional wedding funds to pursue them. At the end one has to be sure of what he or she wants, because allowing a few moments of pleasure to ruin you life long happiness is just not worth it. A man or woman has to stay strong and prayerful during the above period. |
There is juju in African football, but it does not help the teams to win matches. A friend who was a footballer during his secondary school days, told me about a match they were to play against a very tough.school; their coach, a very superstitious person took them to a native doctor to acquire a winning charm. When they got to the native doctor's (nd)place, he brought out a white basin and filled it with water. The nd then told the friends and his other team mates to look into the water in the basin. The nd told them that if they see their opponents images, in the water, with their backs turned to them, it means that they will lose the match, but if their images were facing them, then it meant my friends and team mates will win the match. Unfortunately, when my friend and his colleagues looked into the water, their opponents backs were turned to them, meaning they were going to lose the match!!! The nd suggested spiritual baths for my friend and the other players, so that they can win the match. My friend, reluctantly agreed to the bath as he is a staunch catholic and the coach was threathening to drop him as a player. At the end of the day, their opponents still thrashed them by 4-0 !!! The above incident shows that the team, in sports, that is likely to emerge victorious is the better physically, mentally and technically grounded team. |
broseme:This is good. Pls can you list their names and the LGA they won in. I want to know my LGA Chairman. Thank you. |
Ikorodu again !!! Why do such bad news always emanate from there? Me thinks the people there need to pray for good tidings instead. |
