Well. This was therapeutic. I finished with a 3rd class law degree and made a 2.2 from law which sort of dashed my hopes of working in any of the top or mid tier law firms. Currently working in a low tier firm in Ilorin where the take home pay cannot even take me home. Some days it seems like i missed my way in this early days of practice, I'm seriously considering switching career but I'm still a bit confused on what to switch to or how best to get the most out the situation.
Any advice and pointers will be appreciated.
Furthermore, are there foreign scholarship for 3rd class applicants? |

I call on all well meaning Nigerians to lend their voice in demanding his resignation immediately. An incompetent person should never be placed in such position of authority. |
Business › Re: CBN BDC Ban Explained - Fisayo Fosudo by Ltherman(m): 11:59am On Aug 11, 2021 |
Ngasky: The BDC's are criminals. But on another note this guy did nothing in the video. If you are analysing something you must proffer solution after stating the problem. But unfortunately he didn't proffer any other feasible solution. Imagine BDC operator gaining profit of more than 100 naira for every single dollar. How can you regulate them to stop? Money is the root of evil. And these people have enough to buy off any agency inspecting them. I believe the solution is exactly what CBN did. Whoever needs dollar should go to his bank and use his account to buy at the official rate. It will be easier for CBN and financial regulators to know who buys what currency and what he aims to do with it. Nobody will come every week claiming he needs dollars. So it can be controlled. The problem is the criminals and corrupt government employees (civil/public) that will contunue to look for dollar to keep as security. For now the BDCs' are claiming it is business as usual. But with time they will run out of foreign currency and that market will collapse. someone will think scarcity will make dollar to appreciate but look at this now anybody can access the dollar at the official rate from his personal bank. so who will leave official rate and go and pay 100+ more naira per single dollar from black market? Now people will think someone with physical dollar will not go to bank to sell his $ because it is more at the black market. but the same black market will crash because if they cant sell because everyone is buying from bank. so if they cant sell definitely they will not buy. or at least they will only buy below the official bank rate. so this will force the customer to go to the bank. Imagine 5000 BDC in 37 states. that is more than 135 BDC company in each state in Nigeria. something is definitely wrong Exactly my thoughts on how to fix this. But how will they be able handle the liquidity needs of most importers and manufacturers who apply for Millions of dollars at a go? |

Pavore9: Just spoke with the guy in the first video (growing strawberries in bags) and he explained to me that once it is grown, it is replaced after 3 years but the plants must be well maintained and the soil well treated.
He harvests twice a week from each of the bags, there are months when they would be not fruiting because the plants are 'resting'.
He happily invited me to come visit his strawberry farm, which is about a N100 bus fare and 20minutes ride from Central Nairobi.
Looking forward to eating FREE fresh strawberries . Though as person whey im parents raised well, l will buy at least a kilo from him at least for N500, to support his ministry though the guy is now a 'big boy' at least for the free tutorials l will be getting. So expect updates when l finally go there. @pavore9 I hope to learn more from you |
Agriculture › Re: How to Farm Strawberry For Profit In Your Location by Ltherman(m): 9:41am On Aug 02, 2021 |
Your thread seems OK until you wrote that a strawberry plant will give you 10kgfruits per week. Hahahahah! Oga, tell me that very cultivar? Hmmmm! And how can strawberry fruit continuously my from August to April? Even Ever Bearing Cultivars rest before picking up again.
I do not doubt you are in the business, but I suggest you wait for 1 to 2 years while you test about 5 cultivars and know which do well in various places. Try to have patience with the outcome of your farm projects. Even, buy more cultivars and test very well. I know some good cultivars which tolerate heat. But in all honesty, you need shading to make them fruit well. So, except in cold area like Jos, strawberry should be under shade in all other areas. If you doubt me, take the trials and compare the ones under shade and without on your farms.
But to say a strawberry plant will give you 10kg per week is beyond me.
If you are sure, I will take 2 to 5 seedlings that are already fruiting from you, I cannot waste my time waiting for 3 months before it starts fruiting.
Bro, you do not need to even get such high yield for me to patronize you. I will patronize you if you can show me the market and not start telling me later to go and create it. And if you are the agent, just say it from the start. Cos it looks you are more into the sales. And we discuss very well.
And personally, I will create a thread to show nairalanders the secrets and techniques of strawberry and other berries in non cold regions. Do you know how many people on nairaland who will do strawberry if you really have the market for it? And then if there is an expert who can pilot them? Hahaha! Even guys in Ekiti and Ede will perform wonders on it. You just devote your time for farm visitation too. If you can sell large numbers, just wait and let me test your seedlings, then we can talk more. Berries like strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, cranberry, juniper berry (medicinal for urinary system), pormegranates are plants I have wide experience on.
I appreciate modern farmers in agric. And these new areas in hot and high humid regions of West Africa. Bless you! I wouldn't mind getting to know nore from you on this subject matter. Is there any means of reaching you? |

In 2018. I discovered data science as a prospective field, I watched few videos on YouTube and I fell in love with it because it relates well with database management I learnt in web development. I shoot my shots at several schools in the USA then I opted for SAU because it offer courses in both business analytics, data analytics and visualization, enterprise resource and planning as well as some business courses. It was a great opportunity for me to blend business and tech Which school did you opt for and what was the tuition like? Furthermore, will you advice one to get atleast a brush up course in the programming field before coming over? |

owobokiri: They will rather resurrect Murtala Mohammed and make him a president after the Egyptian mummy there must have gone in 2023.. They will then sit back and ask you "what can you do about it"? Folks in some quarters in this country have a demented penchant for electing brutal charlatans as leaders.. If it's not brutal and clannish it's not leadership to them! People elect presidents here not because of their proven abilities to solve problems but just to spite others.. Sorry Sir! But you are just wasting your time on a lost country and a confused generation.. This is the unfortunate Nigerian reality. Both sides of the coin simply vote to spite each other and spite their collective wellbeing. As Nigerians we can still do better in thebface of all these. |

Least pay in UNDP or WFP is like 420k per month (for the drivers). No tax and pension deductions. Some Agencies of UN pay as high as 1.2m a month for mid-level officers. The only thing is that ur contract gets renewed after every 6months ( and if u re not in good terms with ur manager, he/she may choose not to renew ur contract). U don't get an open ended contract like other international firms and NGOs. I know this coz I work for......
