ASUU is now a big joke….an organization made up many unproductive lecturers. Revamping the universities is not the sole responsibility of the government, these lecturers should contribute too. How? In the West, reputable academics purchase equipment, hire research and student assistants from grants obtained from companies and organizations. In fact, in some universities research grant portfolio and publications are the key determinants for promotion. In Nigeria, some of these lecturers do zero research, deliver archaic/poorly developed lectures and yet they want to be remunerated at par with their colleagues abroad.

Honestly, some of the major proponents of this strike thing have no business being in the university. It beats my imagination how university dons with a plethora of things to do can afford to stay away from their duty post for 5 months! Given the way the Nigerian universities are presently constituted, no improvement will be happening soon even if the government/private sector invests one trillion dollars there. It is about time the government, parents and students should make these eggheads accountable. Enough of this nonsense, there should be a yearly or biannual evaluation system for teaching and research competency for lecturers in place. All those found unproductive after each evaluation cycle should be kicked out.

I am not from Anambra, but as an Igbo man, i am certainly interested in the politics of the state. This is because, if democracy and good governance is entrenched in Ananmbra it will serve as a template for the other states in the Southeast. So, from the videos and other information about the candidates on the internet; i am very much impressed with Obiano's profile.
It is unbelievable that Ifeanyi Ubah will even be aspiring to govern Anambra state when he nearly ran his personal business aground. Or is he planning to use the state's federal allocation and internally generated revenue to prop up his tottering business empire? Just listening to him speak, it is apparent that this guy has little or no education at all. With the plethora of educated people in the state, Ifeanyi Uba aspiring to be the governor of Anambra state is a joke taken too far.
I am not a fan of Chris Ngige; never was, and never will be for the following reasons:
He is amoral, a man without any iota of integrity. Ngige was not the only person approached by Chris Ubah in 2003, but he readily jumped at the offer because of his desperation for power. A christian who did not find taking an oath at a shrine reprehensible, can do anything to have his way. Who knows what agreement he has already signed with his new don, Tinubu. Of course, his doublespeak during the recent Lagos deportation saga shows vintage Ngige, and where his allegiance lies for now. A question for those canvassing for Ngige; given his antecedents, will you entrust your personal business to him?

Kei144: APGA doesn't want PDP to beat them in the game. This has been PDP's game plan; field two candidates in the name of factionalism. Supporters of the two candidates will vote (seemingly) for their candidates; but all the votes are actually for PDP. PDP wins and the court (seemingly) settles which of the two candidates will go. APGA wants to do the same thing.

Nawaa for people....rather than insults, the credentials of Chief Obiano should be discussed. His antecedents? Is he a man of integrity? Is he capable of withstanding the turbulent Anambra politics? Before Peter Obi became the Governor, not much was known about him; so, there is a possibility that Chief Obiano may turn out to be a blessing for Anambra state.

It is unbelievable that in 2013, this kind of nonsense is still going on. With these bizarre cut-off marks for northern students, what manner of secondary/university graduates are we expecting?

PrettyCindy: I was quite unlucky that i ended up with a cruel human as husband (now ex). 3 months after marriage when i didn't take in, he threatened to impregnate another woman soon. Well i finally got pregnant 6 months after marriage and i saw hell. I have never told anyone about this experience cos am a bit ashamed of it. He wasn't that happy over the news cos he already has a son from his ex fiancee (she ran away due to constant battery and i got to know late). My pregnancy was quite tough in the first 2months with the vomiting and all. He never showed concern when i was throwing up, weak, coughing, sick etc. We were married and living together but i was alone, terribly lonely. I still did all the chores, i mean every single thing including working 8am to 6pm daily. At a time i had severe cough, catarrh, nausea, vomiting and fever, this man opened up his mouth one night i just finished throwing up and said that "God was punishing me for my sins", that i wasn't sick cos of pregnancy but it was all punishment from God. I told him the only reason i was sick was because i was pregnant meaning that the sin i committed was sleeping with him as my husband. A day later he told me i was the most unimportant person in his life! Anyway long story short we seperated when i was about two months pregnant. He told me to get rid of the pregnancy since we were seperating and he proved his point by refusing to give me money for ante natal and by trying to kill the baby in my womb when he battered me but he didn't succeed. With the help of God i was able to carry my baby perfectly fine and put to bed safely. He is about 5months old now and indeed a blessing to my life and i love him with my with my life. If i had stayed with that man, i would have either lost the pregnancy or committee suicide cos of frustration or would have been pushed to the wall to do the unthinkable.

I weep for my country, because this is madness gone too far. It beats my imagination how these folks derive joy in maiming and killing innocent people for nothing. It is very clear that BH has no sense of direction or ideology.What exactly do these killers want? May the souls of the dead rest in peace.
