First off there's substantial proof and like i said its scholarly consensus that Jesus existed and was crucified. You are free to cite renowned modern scholars who go against this grain of thought. Tacitus, Josephus, Lucian, Mara, Pliny and the Talmud are all sources used to back this claim by scholars. The gospel of Barnabas is not taken as historically reliable or used as evidence by any respected scholars as they were written at an even much later date, (about a century l8r) than the gospels which were not even valid in the 1st place and its the usual pseudepigraphy

From the Septuagint Yeshua/Yeoshua is Iēsous and Iēsous is Jesus. Just the trick of translation.

If i say I'm an engineer the next sensible question is what type. I cited those who did in my previous response and While the Testimonium Flavianum (the more extensive passage about Jesus) is partially considered to have later Christian interpolations, the reference to Jesus in relation to James in Antiquities 20.9.1 is widely regarded by scholars as authentic. Like i said its basically consensus and scholars like Bart Ehrman(my fav), Dale Allison, E.P Sanders,  James Dunn, Craig Evans are amongst many who are part of this consensus view which is based on substantial evidence and rigorous peer review.
