nairalaila: The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has described Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha as the Adolph Hitler of Igboland, following the arrest of 112 IPOB women who were protesting and demanding the whereabouts of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement released by IPOB media and publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, the group noted that any impartial observer who visits Imo State will think that Hitler’s Third Reich has been resurrected in the peace-loving central region of Biafraland.
The group further alleged that the arrested IPOB women including grandmothers, were forced to undergo pregnancy test by the prison authorities. They described the act as a devilish and sinister intrusion into the health of mothers reminiscent of the fate of Jewish women endured in Concentration Camps in Europe during the Holocaust.
“That this is allowed to happen in the 21st century, is an indictment of the impotency of United Nations, Britain, Africa Union and countless other human rights groups that receive aid and grants to defend human rights but only end up aiding gross violation of human rights in Biafra. Who in their right mind will subject a 64 year old woman to a pregnancy test, if not for the purpose of humiliation and inflicting of bodily harm.
“We the worldwide family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) wish to notify the world that plans to subject our women to invasive and undignified pregnancy test is a genocidal medical experimentation we will not allow to be performed on our mothers. No pregnancy will be conducted. The best option remains for the government to release our mothers unconditionally so they can seek independent medical attention elsewhere" the statement read in part.
“The mass murder of IPOB family members by Buratai’s Nigerian soldiers in Igweocha (Port Harcourt), Nkpor, Enugu, Onitsha, Aba, Umuahia, Mbiama Bayelsa State is still fresh in our memory. This latest plan to forcefully subject our mothers and grand mothers to pregnancy test is part of a wider ploy to contaminate and infect them with diseases that may prove incurable in the long run. We ask that Imo State government and Rochas Okorocha to desist from this deadly medical experimentation on our mothers”
The group wondered why those they described as Certified Fulani terror groups like Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, their militant wing, the Fulani herdsmen are immune from prosecution but innocent Igbo mothers can be locked up, brutalised and experimented upon.
The Sun reported that Governor Okorocha who reacted to the statement by IPOB, said he was not ready to join issues with the proscribed group and wondered how the arrest of the women protesters in Imo by the police authorities, concerned him. Speaking with Saturday Sun on phone, the Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo said IPOB should tell the world how the Imo State government is involved in the Imo State incident.

The Calgary Police Service is asking for the public’s help to find Philip who is wanted on warrants connected to several serious domestic incidents.
Philip Prince Afolabi, 27, of Calgary, is wanted on 43 outstanding warrants, which include:
sexual assault assault with a weapon assault causing bodily harm overcoming resistance by choking criminal harassment possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose possession of a controlled substance multiple breaches of court orders and an emergency protection order

Police said incidents happened in the spring and Afolabi was released on bail while he awaited trial. He has since disappeared and investigators from the Domestic Conflict Unit are trying to find him.
Because the charges are domestic, police said they won’t release more information about the alleged offences to protect the privacy of the victim.
Police said Afolabi is 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slim build, brown eyes and black hair.
Afolabi had recently been released on bail pending a trial. Investigators have been working to locate Afolabi, but have not succeeded.

lanicky: Over the years pageants have receive the negative image of pageant contestants being dumb ladies who go for pageantries mainly because of their looks and not because of what they have to offer. Infact most people are of the opinion that pageant contestants are outrightly dumb.
That's not true! Pageant is not a waste of time.. Be it online contest or offline. Most of the ladies competing in pageants are smart, very bright and highly intellengent with mulitple talents.
Unfortunately today, people would rather wait to see a beauty queen make mistake than help her become a better person.
Pageantry unveils that part of a lady she never thought existed. I can honestly say that miss Nairaland 2016 shaped me to whom I am today. It unveiled a part of me I never thought existed. I gained insight then as to the lady I am today... I became bolder to face any challenge. I have competed in different pageants so far and I have met different people, people I wouldn't have met if I sat in a corner of my room. I have met life long friendship, people who help me become better everyday.
And pageantry gave me confidence to go out into the world and make a difference. The journey has just began.
Pageantry is not a waste of time.. All of the ladies who participate in pageants are not stupid, but bright.

Angelanest: Few days ago, it was reported that some Nigerian cult members were arrested in Malaysia after attack on a rival gang member in the country. The Nigerian victim popularly known as ‘Ratty the millionaire’, was stabbed by some cultists during a clash between the Vikings and the in Cheras, Malaysia..
One of the arrested suspects identified as Mr Obere Agu (in blue shirt), from Imo State, was picked up last Monday,13th August,2018 by the Malaysian police, who accused him of being a cultist.
He was taken to the police station for questioning and proper investigation which he revealed lasted for about five hours.
The police confirmed he was innocent of the crime labelled against him, he was released without bail.
He shared a video to notify the public he has been fully exonerated and he is also not a cultist after reports tarnishing his image went viral.
