The UN said the Igbo Language may become extinct by 2050 and some ignorant clowns were insulting the UN. Now, it's already happening.

Notice when most Igbos converse, Igbo words are being substituted by English words. Out of like 25 words in a sentence, 9 would be English words.

Presently, Lagos State has a preservation of Yoruba Language law in place even when the language is already being exported to South America and other places. What are Igbo Governors doing? Anambra is fighting Ebonyi over naming a street.

CastedDude:
Firdausi Amasa, has been formally called to Bar by the Nigerian Law School after she was denied the honour last year for wearing a hijab. The young female lawyer from University of Ilorin was disallowed to perform the ceremony because she refused to remove her hijab.

She was called to Bar with her hijab on Tuesday, July 10th (today) along with other young lawyers in July in Abuja.

Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) took over the young lawyer’s case since last year when she was turned down by authorities of the Law School for the her Call to Bar because was refused to removed her hijab.

Amasa Firdaus had insisted on wearing her wig on top of her Hijab as she was already dressed in her new gown.

Honestly there are many stupid people on this forum. Take a good look at the certificate and you will see that its an edited shit. First of all the calligraphy of the number "9" is not in consonance with most NYC certificates, as the number 9 should not have overlapped and its tail should have rested on the line. Secondly the question is at what age did he graduate form the university, If at 22, then she is not liable for exemption on any ground. Thirdly the same idiot who posted his certificate on twitter, refused to acknowledge the fact that, NYSC certificates are pre-signed immediately you exit the orientation camp. We are not talking about an NYSC discharge certificate, but an exemption certificate. To also make Kemi's case worse, the same idiot who put up his certificate which he claimed he finished his scheme in March 2009,and the then DG exited the service in January. That established, but how can another person who also finished in the same April 2009 have the signature of Brigadier General Olawummi on his certificate, and Madam Kemi who finished in September 2009 has general Bomoi as signatory on her certificate. You are very confused and really brain locked bro. The coup, the aburi, the Gowon you mentioned pls is that enough reason to waged civil war and 3 million innocent souls were killed? Think about the rationale for a second if the immense lost worth it if Ojukwu was wise enough to manage his action properly to avoid these unforgettable human disaster and no single person of his family were touched or killed bro think pls use your brain.

Bro for whatever reason you give either you take it or not Ojukwu started the civil and lead the biafra struggle so kindly fix your reasoning and stop blame game. Let me remind you, pls was Azikwe not the first executive president of Nigeria and from which tribe is he from biko?

Pls Aguyi Ironsi is from which tribe?

Pls who plotted the coup that killed Murtala? Pls answer me.

When did Nigeria got independent and when did the civil war broke out? Less that 6 years after independent. Pls give me the figure of igbo man or woman or children that were deliberately killed or beheaded before the civil war? Nigeria was peaceful before civil war but because of a little disagreement our own Ojukwu took side with the British who are against our freedom.as a nation and started civil war just for British to get hold of SS and SE because of oil and coal.

Bro let me educate you a bit more I had gone through Nigeria achieve to ascertain some facts *Do you know before independent igbo were in control of police, custom, immigration, aviation, business, finance, and big number of share in the millitary etc*huh Pls go to Nigeria millitary active sorry you can't have the access pls go to Nigeria achieve since independent before civil war you will see how igbo dominated almost everything *then the question is why civil war from igbo man* if not for Ojukwu greed pls why civil warhuh Answer me or produce facts to counter my statement then I will open more Can of worms for you to see that biafra was as a result of Ojukwu personal glutinous greed and not of collective igbo wish bro.

I'm not against the struggle because everybody has the right for agitation but that does not mean to turned failed agitation to tribal hate causing mayhem and unrest everywhere pls hell No.

I appreciate you calling me Afonja you know when someone refused to be stupid in IPOOH dictionary that person is Afonja and i love it but to follow and allow a failure whom im richer than, educated than, have same foreign status with, who has no single business in igboland, no single igbo man or woman under his register as workers, a guy with no single land or property in his home town to be telling me when to open my office or close it to please him bro it will never happen so get that fact ok. A stupid and a failure don't and can't lead me or be my role model ok. Who leads you tell what become of you in future ok.
U are VERY WISE for thinking only ojukwu took the decision to leave nigeria
Infact you are einstein himself
It had nothing to do with the senseless killings and anger of the igbos
Even murtala was insistent on leaving bcuz he knew nigeria could never be the same after the revenge coup

This SUV – a Kia Sorento – was spotted on the road. It was seen moving with a woman seated ontop of it.

Apparently, the car was filled to capacity, leaving no available sitting space for the woman ontop of the car. So, improvisation became necessary.

It reminds you of the famous saying:

England last won the World Cup in 1966 but there's historical proof that the side will be crowned champions of the world once again, at this summer's tournament in Russia.

In 1966, England smashed Germany 4-2 at Wembley to win their first ever World Cup.

But it's also the year Real Madrid won the European Cup, Burnley qualified for Europe, Chelsea finished 5th and Manchester City won the league (the second division).

Any of this sound familiar?

Yep. Last season, all this happened as well.

Well, all of this apart from the World Cup winners, which is yet to be decided...

Here's a thought...

1966:
Real Madrid win the European Cup
Burnley qualify for Europe
Man City win their league
Chelsea finish 5th
England win #WorldCup

2018:
Real Madrid win the European Cup
Burnley qualify for Europe
Man City win their league
Chelsea finish 5th

Omens...

Put it in your diary - July 15th - it's going to be the day when captain Harry Kane will be lifting the trophy above his head.

What more proof do you need?

Crime › Re: I Only Gave Her One Blow - Man Arrested For Beating Wife Over N500 by LZAA: 2:51pm On Jul 09, 2018
weIMPORT:
A man identified as Ayoyemi Eweje, has been accused by his wife Motunrayo Eweje,of battering her over his missing N500.

Motunrayo said the incident occurred last Tuesday after Eweje couldn’t find the N500 note he kept in a carton on the refrigerator in their Baiyewu, Ikorodu residence.

She said she was making a customer’s hair on June 27, when Eweje, a generator repairer, accused her of taking the money.

He ordered her to go and look for it, so, she returned to her customer. When she finished, he refused to let her into the house.

Motunrayo told The Nation that the next day, Eweje ordered her to pack out of their home, following which she left with her two children, aged 11 and 5 years, to her friend, Mrs Blessing Jacob’s place.

According to her, last Tuesday (July 3), Eweje trailed her to Jacob’s place, beat her up and threatened to kill her and her friend.

Motunrayo said:

“My husband was looking for N500 that Wednesday. I was making someone’s hair outside the house when he told my children to call me. He asked for the money. I told him I didn’t know anything about it and I went back outside to continue making the hair. When I finished, I returned home but the door was locked. I had no choice than to go to Mrs Jacob’s place that night.

“The following day (Thursday), I went back home to take care of my children, and do some house chores but the door was locked. I went to where he was to get the key; he returned to the house, opened the door, sat down, crossed his legs and told me to pack my things. I did as he said because I was already tired of the marriage and I went back to my friend’s house with my children.

“Last Tuesday, he came to my friend’s house around midnight and knocked on the door. My friend and I thought he came to settle the quarrel but he entered the house and beat me seriously, leaving me injured.

“I am tired of this marriage and I want it to end. It has been full of quarrels, beatings and arguments. I am not in love again. My husband does not take care of me; he only pays the children’s school fess and house rent. I am the one that takes care of my children both in feeding and clothing. He does not give me money for food,” she said.

Mrs Jacob corroborated Motunrayo’s claims.

She told The Nation that Motunrayo was her close friend, saying she allowed her come to her house because her husband fought with her.

Jacob said:

“I quarrelled with her that she should go back to her husband (before the day he came to beat her) and make peace with him, but she said the man didn’t want to see her again, that her things had been thrown outside, that if she went home, he would kill her. That was why I accommodated her.

“I went to her husband to beg on her behalf and that he should accept her, but he refused.

“He came to my house that Tuesday around midnight. When he was knocking the door, I thought he came to make peace, and to take his children and wife. When he entered, he embarrassed me, saying I was the one discouraging his wife to be wayward. He said he wanted to take his children and suddenly, he started beating his wife.

“I told the woman to run out, but he said he was going to kill her, that no police could arrest him. He said I should call whoever I wanted to call. He said for accepting her in my house, he was going to kill her, and kill me as well.”

But Eweje, who admitted beating his wife, said that it was a mistake. Recalling the incident, he said she asked him for money for food but he told her he did not have.

Eweje said:

“I later remembered that I put N500 in a cartoon on my fridge in the house. I asked the children for it but they said they did not see it. I also asked her for it, she said she did not take it, I told her no one else could have taken the money and that she should go and look for it; but she turned her back on me and left the house and she never came back home till the next day. I wanted to give her that money for food.”

He denied asking her to pack out of the house.

Eweje said:

“When I was at a meeting she came to meet me to come and open the door for her. I opened the door and the next thing was that she carried her load out. I did not tell her to pack.

“I know that I made a mistake to have beaten her. I am crying now because I have beaten her and I am saying that this will not happen again. I want you to help me ask her if she still loves me or if there is no more love.”

“My wife was not like this before we moved to Ikorodu, and it is because she is now rolling with people that are bigger than her and they are not advising her to do the right thing; I know she has a man friend.

“My mother and her mother are now fighting because of this matter. My father has told me to come home, my wife and I are both form Ondo State.”

He, however, denied being cruel to his family in their over 11 years of marriage.

“My wife is lying that I have not been taking care of the family. Did you not see how big she is? And she says I am not feeding her. Which work is she doing that she is using to take care of the family? I have a shop where I repair generator and I also earn a salary. I still love my wife and I want my marriage back. I have beaten her before, but since last year I have not beaten her. I beat her that night because I went to her friend’s house to get my children back home, but she was dragging the children in my hand; that was why I beat her; I just gave her a blow and it touched her face.”

Eweje, who was arrested last Wednesday, told our reporter that he was released on Friday on bail after paying N30,000.

Police spokesperson, Chike Obi, a Superintendent of Police, said the matter was under investigation.

Politics › Re: Killings: Investigate Ahmed Maje’s Claims - MURIC by LZAA: 1:58pm On Jul 09, 2018
BAILMONEY:
Hon. Ahmed Maje, a member of the House of Representatives, recently disclosed that politicians were behind the killings in Plateau State. He also claimed he had ample evidence to support his claim and that a report on this had earlier been submitted but nobody did anything about it.

Reacting to this revelation, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) said in a statement issued on Monday, 9th July, 2018 and signed by its director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, that it is greatly agitated by the disclosure. “This is a matter concerning security of lives and properties. The precious lives of our people are being wasted as if they are mere flies or cockroaches. It is callous, insensitive and inhuman. Hon. Maje’s claims must be investigated immediately. We suggest that a powerful commission of inquiry must be instituted for this purpose.

Speaking during plenary in the House of Representatives, Hon. Maje had said, “I want to tell this House and Nigerians that about 300 people were trained in Israel, it’s there in our report, we gave it to the government to work on and find out those sponsoring them. Till today, nobody has been traced and these people are the ones who go about killing people. I’m giving you this and I’m willing to surrender these documents.

“A company in Plateau State did importation and about four containers were missing and when we traced as a committee what was in those containers, we were told that the containers were taken to the house of a politician. When we traced the name of the company it was a security company in Israel. They bought arms.

“We do not want to say the truth and this will continue to hunt and bedevil us. The truth of the matter is that there are some politicians behind these killings. I’m from Plateau State and I’m saying those behind this are politicians and I know I’m putting my life on the line by saying this, but I prefer to die and save others. I’m willing to surrender some of these documents”.

Commenting on Maje’s allegation, MURIC said, “The above revelation is quite disturbing. Reference has been made to four missing containers. The four containers were traced to the house of a politician in Plateau State. Further investigations revealed that the containers were imported from an Israeli company which manufactures arms.

“There is more to six than seven. Even a six year old can deduce a connection between the four missing containers with arms which were traced to the house of a politician in Plateau State and other arms-laden containers which were intercepted by customs in various boarders.

“By extension, a link may be established between stories of containers seized at the nation’s boarders and the aircraft of the former president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, which was seized in South Africa in 2014 after a failed attempt to purchase arms in that country. With hindsight, we can see that those weapons were never meant for the Nigerian military but were part of the grand plot to arm some killer militia but Jonathan’s government simply gave Oritsejafor a coverup. A neatly packaged plot to train and arm militiamen in several Nigerian states is emerging from this scenario.

“It means that we have been living with killers all along and walking in the shadow of death. These people have prepared very well. They were only moving from state to state to execute their diabolical plot. The leakage of this deadly plot can be adduced to Allah’s response to the prayers of innocent Nigerians.

“Thinking aloud, we doubt if several trips made by former President Goodluck Jonathan to Jerusalem in company of some religious leaders were actually what we were made to believe or sheer hocus pocus designed as covers for the same grand plot, namely, a clandestine importation of large cache of weapons from Israel. We say this because the last time we checked, two plus two still gave us four. Those trips were too regular for comfort and they may have given official government cover for anything.

“This may have been responsible for the unusual push of a section of religious leaders to remove President Muhammadu Buhari from power as well as the several feverish rush for protests against killings organized by CAN. Are those protests intended as coverups? Are some religious leaders panicking? Has the wind blown? Are we going to see the ruff of the hen very soon?”

The Islamic organization followed this up with some posers, “Maje mentioned a report submitted to government. We need to know which government? Was he referring to this Buhari regime, that of Jonathan, Yaradua or Obasanjo? Again, when was this report submitted? Where are copies of the report? It is only after we have answers to these questions that we can know whether or not Maje’s claim has merit”.

MURIC therefore called on the Federal Government (FG) to immediately set up a powerful commission of inquiry to investigate the claims. “The identity of the politician connected with the four containers which disappeared must be revealed. FG must also provide adequate protection for Hon. Maje, his family and properties from harm. This is the Mother of Whistle-Blowing. There is no time to waste. We must make hay while the sun shines”.

kayjay69:
Lola is not the only Yoruba woman married to an Igbo man true but most people here on nairaland and generally in Nigeria blame her for the breakup of the brothers simply because she's the odd one out based on her tribe. It is common knowledge that Jude never liked her, why I don't know. Some say it was based on what their late mother said that Peter shouldn't marry her. I am not saying she is perfect, everybody with him own. But the mature thing to do among the brothers is if Peter decided to marry her and go against his late mother's wishes then the two brothers should still support him cos in the end he is their brother and blood is thicker than water.

Look let's not cover this stuff up. She is Yoruba and that is probably why she gets the cold shoulder from Jude. If she were Igbo, I personally don't think it would have gotten to this level, attitude or not. I don't think Paul has any real problems with Peter but I think Paul should have stayed neutral regarding the rift between Jude and Peter.

In my opinion, the brothers should have rallied around Peter regardless of his choice of wife. Not every man is skilled at finding a balance between his own personal family and his relatives. It is common knowledge that Lola was never accepted into the family from the beginning and it had to do with the fact that she was Yoruba and she was older than Peter. I am talking way back before they touched real money. But in the end, Peter is a grown man and it's his life not theirs. I don't believe as a Parent my word should be binding on my child especially on a child who has gotten to a mature age. I can give advice but if you insist I'll still be there as much as I can even though I may have my resentment towards such action. They may have resentment towards her but blood is thicker than water and it seems they just allowed those resentment coupled with money and pride get in the way of what was a very successful family business. I feel sorry for all three. I am not happy that they went their separate ways and I sure am not supporting anyone of them. My joy would be to see them back together making good music. Overall I wish them the best.
