The ghastly crash killed all the passengers instantly including the foreigner.
uwajeh: I don't need to read the whole thread to know that it's one of my Igbo brothers that wrote the crap she's referring to. We Igbos are fast becoming the most tribalistic thrash talkers around.
in the same vein i find it funny to see a lot of trolls on this thread claiming to be igbo with statements like "my brothers" if u bothered to look carefully at dat guy's account,u would see that he is a blogger which means he's gonna do evrytin possible to push traffic to his blog including trolling as u are doing though in ur case u don't have a blog QED
thesicilian: Standard Chartered Bank does not sponsor Liverpool FC (a club that has not won any major trophy in over ten years) out of the goodness of their hearts. They do so based on the volume of profits to be made in the process. In the same vein, our Nigerian brands like the one you mentioned above are not stupid. If there's profits to be made, they'll sponsor. Only Globacom seem to be doing well in this regard. Our leagues and tournaments need to become more profitable and standardized. Then we can hype and overhype.
erm if u read my statement u will see we are saying the same thing
thesicilian: The hype that goes with these major football events (Champions League, EPL, La Liga, World Cup etc) is something that I continue to marvel at. If only we in Africa can rebrand our leagues and tournaments to create the same effect.
when last u hear innoson,UBA,nigerian breweries sponsor local leagues? exactly also the "hype" is just advertising which started getting bigger in the 1980's in europe and as per the world cup began around 74 edition. heck the european cup format was changed to accomodate more teams hence more matches to advertise sponsor products
There is pandemonium at Ebonyi State University over one month power outage.
The students trooped out in mass to protest over the horrible power supply in the campus.
They blocked the road at ishieke junction which leads to the main campus which resulted to the total shut down of school activities. Our correspondent reports that police have arrested many students because of the protest after shooting sporadically.
HubertHarold: Take a look at the pictures below, this is the new Lagos for real, if care is not taken, our dream of making Lagos state a smart metropolitan city may soon become a fantasy. Almost everywhere is dirty; both mainland and Island, you don’t have to move too far before you start perceiving the stench of refuse pilled up at street corners, corridors, roadside and just anywhere.
Where did we get it wrong? Sometime in July 2017, the Lagos state government restricted the 350 indigenous Incorporated Trustees Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria popularly called PSP (Private Sector Participation) operators in partnership with LAWMA from conducting their usual waste management business in Lagos, then the project handled by 350 operators was officially handed over to Visionscape Sanitation Solutions Limited, a subsidiary of Visionscape Group (a multinational company) and ABC Solutions Limited. What this simply means is that the Lagos state government bluntly shut down the business of 350 PSP operators (who had been operating in Lagos terrain since over fifteen years) then awarded the contract to some foreign investors who are just new to the complex waste management system in Lagos.
For records, PSP operators have been in partnership with LAWMA since 1999 during the administration of the then Lagos state governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Also, during ex-governor Babatunde Raji Fashola’s tenure in Lagos, there was a need to continue with the existing system but with a well scrutinized and standard structure. Fashola made the system more competitive and effective by giving award to the most efficient PSP operators and screening the over one thousand indigenous operators that showed interest in the waste management business to 350 operators. Those who met the requirements were compelled by the government to get a compactor, a liaison office and garage. Some of these operators had to get bank loan to finance these projects.
Here are some facts I will leave you to ponder on… • Lagos state generates 14,000 tons of waste per day but Visionscape Sanitation Solutions Limited has 5,000 tons evacuation capacity. This means that after a week (i.e. 7 days), Lagos will have 98,000 tons of refuse requiring evacuation while Visionscape Sanitation Solutions Limited has only moved 35,000 tons, leaving a balance of 63,000 tons of refuse per week.
• Lagos state needs roughly 1500 compactors to meet the daily needs of waste management but Visionscape Sanitation Solutions Limited has only 50 compactors. This is probably because a new compactor costs over 70 million naira with shipping and import duty; that means it costs about 105 billion naira to acquire 1500 compactors. It is obvious that Visionscape Sanitation Solutions Limited can’t afford such money yet, so that is why they have quietly invited some PSP operators to join them.
• With PSP operators, you don’t need to take your refuse anywhere to litter the street, all you need to do is to wait till they come once in a week then you take it right to their truck but this current system requires you to drop your refuse at the main/major road before the Visionscape operators come to pick them. There are even some areas in Lagos that are not yet covered till date.
• LAWMA’s corporate offices at Mushin, Ojodu, Oshodi, Simpson etc. were taken from LAWMA by the government and given to a foreign company whereas the local investors (PSP operators) were compelled to build or let their liaison offices and garages. Some of them are still indebted to banks.
• Lagos state government has given these key environmental waste management responsibilities to Visionscape Sanitation Solutions Limited: recycling of wastes generated plant, building landfill sites, marine waste, building transfer loading stations, building material recovery facilities, drainage clearing and street sweeping.
Just recently, President Muhammadu Buhari signed Executive Order 5 to improve local content in public procurement with science, engineering and technology components. For those who don’t know, the Executive Order is expected to promote the application of science, technology and innovation towards achieving the nation’s development goals across all sectors of the economy. Owing to the authority vested in him by the constitution, the president ordered that all ‘‘procuring authorities shall give preference to Nigerian companies and firms in the award of contracts, in line with the Public Procurement Act 2007.’’ Basically, the idea of Lagos state government giving preference to Visionscape Group at the detriment of our indigenous 350 PSP operators is totally against the interest of the Executive Order 5. I see Lagos state as a brand which needs to be effectively managed without sentiments, greed or selfish interest or else the big dream will be nothing but fantasy. Eko o ni baje o! I remain your brand inspector.
SemzyNizzle: Remember the alleged nude pictures that were disseminated by bloggers and social media users of moyo Lawal which she actually posted on her instagram page to promote a make up brand? O ye change agents and chanters Whenever anyone asks why the change has not arrived and you start to call them looters and ipob yoots remember that 1.Sankara took power in burkina faso and was turning around their economy and also weaning them off dependence on france until a french backed coup killed him 2. Mandela had all the chance and power in the world to rule south africa as long as mugabe did yet he only ruled for one term and brought peace and reconciliation to SA.
In Nigeria today,if we were to be truly fighting corruption, party allegiances should not have been important but sadly the so called corruption fight is so one sided that even a blind man can see it 90% of workers today are underpaid while many more are losing their jobs daily due to the harsh economic decisions by the government of the day. If this government was truly and genuinely fighting corruption the way IDIAGBON did in 1984-85,nigerians would have at least understood their motives but sadly this is not the case. TSA was rushed and the result is clear for all to see. This sham called change has run it's course and will be duly CHANGED next year
sokera: The real lovers of Buhari are not on social media, on that Election Day a lot of people will be surprise and shocked how Baba will return to power ... He is still the best of all bad eggs ...

The chain of events in the last four days have unequivocally proven to us that true leaders heed the call of the masses irrespective of how unsavoury such calls may be; simply because, power belongs to the people.

boman2014: The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for an Islamic cleric, identified only as Raheem , for allegedly killing a co- tenant , Monday Olaleye, aka Messiah.
The duo, who lived in a house on Adebayo Close, in the Ibafo , Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state, reportedly had a disagreement which degenerated to fisticuffs.
The fight, which occured on Sunday , February 11 , started after 49 - year - old Olaleye demanded the N60 contribution of Raheem for the replacement of a burnt electric fuse .
Olaleye was appointed by other tenants to collect funds for the purchase of the new fuse , valued at N 600 .
During the fight, Raheem , aka Alfa, was alleged to have hit Olaleye with a stick , while the victim used a plastic chair to fight back. Both men were reportedly injured .
The next day, Olaleye’ s health condition deteriorated and he was rushed to a private hospital where he was confirmed dead .
The deceased ’s family members were said to have reported the case at the Ibafo Police Station .
PUNCH Metro learnt that neighbours, who got wind of a possible mass arrest, fled the house .
When our correspondent visited the community on Thursday , he observed that the house had been locked up .
Residents approached for information either declined comment or feigned ignorance of the incident.
However , PUNCH Metro established contact with a few of the runaway tenants ,who spoke on condition of anonymity .
A father of two said the police locked up the house when they did not meet anyone , adding that they left with three generators belonging to tenants .
He said , “ I remember the two men had a disagreement over payment for a burnt electrical fuse. which was valued at N600 . We are 10 tenants in the house occupying the 10 single room apartments . We divided the money and everybody was asked to pay N60 .
“ I was sleeping when I heard a noise . I was indisposed and couldn ’ t go out. But I learnt there was a fight between Alfa and Messiah over the fuse money . Within a few minutes, it was over and everybody dispersed .
“ By morning , the man woke up , took his bath , drew water from the well , and prepared a meal which he ate. But around 12 noon, we observed that his door was ajar . I heard heavy breathing and rallied other tenants to get him to a hospital .”
Another tenant said no one knew the victim was ill until a family member visited him. He noted that the relative raised the alarm , blaming the neighbours for being uncaring . He said , “ After we settled the dispute between him and Alfa, everybody left for their apartments. They were both OK . Messiah was a painter and he rarely went out . We all saw him do his chores that morning ; nobody suspected anything until someone said he was breathing abnormally .
A relative who visited him around 12 noon queried us for not checking up on him.
“ We didn’t get a vehicle on time to convey him to a hospital . We later got one. The medical workers did not allow us to take him down from the vehicle before they said he was dead . Inasmuch as I find it difficult to connect his death to the fight , some people said he might have had internal bleeding.”
PUNCH Metro gathered that the news of the death sent fear into the community, as many residents took to their heels . The prime suspect ,Raheem , who had gone to work, reportedly did not return to the house . A female tenant said later that evening , the police arrived in the community in a bus.
“ They broke Alfa’ s apartment and took some things away . They also locked up the entire house after carrying away three generators . As I speak to you, most of the tenants are squatting with friends and family members . We have nowhere to go ,” she said .
A senior police officer from the Ibafo division said it was a murder case , adding that it had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department , Eleweran , Abeokuta .
He urged the victim ’s neighbours to come forward and assist the police with information.
“ The suspect hit the man with a stick and he died. It is a murder case, ” he added. The state Police Public Relations Officer , Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident.
He said , “ There was a fight between the two tenants on Monday and in the process, one of them died. All the tenants in the house fled ; nobody reported to the police . It was when the victim ’s relatives arrived from Lagos that they met his corpse in the house . That was how the police knew about it.
“ When we got there , we didn’ t see anybody ; the house was deserted . The police found two generators on the corridor and because it was not safe to leave them there , they decided to secure them by taking them to the station. We have not seen any of the tenants since then .
The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Iliyasu , has ordered that the suspect be made to face the full wrath of the law . ”
imhotep: The Federal Government appears to have discarded its plan to create thousands of jobs through the establishment of technology hubs. While representing President Muhammadu Buhari at an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) forum in Abuja mid-2016, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had unveiled the plan for two ‘super hubs’ in Lagos and Abuja, and six others across the country by the end of 2017.
Regrettably, the initiative, 19 months after it was announced, exists only on paper.
Reports reaching 9news Nigeria indicate that IPOB members at Nkpor, Anambra State have released doves to free Biafrans. 9News Nigeria gathered that the incident started when IPOB members met at the immaculate heart at nkpor agu, after dedicating prayer to God, they walked down to nkpor junction, where they had another prayer and released some doves .
They equally continued to new motor spare parts junction and repeated the same ritual. See photos below

Talk2Bella: This is going to be an interesting read so I will implore we read without bias and sentiments.
This is a man's world we have said times without number, but when it comes to marketing products we say women have the upper hand (: often times I have wondered who ever brought up this misconception.
I have seen many people reject a career in marketing because it's been perceived to be hard and not doable, I have seen job adverts asking specifically for female marketers, light skinned and single are some of the criteria that come with these adverts, I had a colleague tell me one time "You're a woman, marketing these products should be very easy" I found it sexist, objectifying and offending to my hustle, things aren't going to get better for me because I am a woman, things are going to get better for me because I am good at what I do.
I recently got appointment as an investment advisor with one of the biggest Real Estate Investment Firm in the country, this company made me understand the equality In Gender and opportunities, every one of us is given the same opportunity and tools to survive, no preference or inequality, woman or not you need to work twice as hard as everyone now this is a very healthy work environment.
Now I will not be a hypocrite and say I have always wanted to be a marketer or sales executive no, but when the opportunity surfaced did I turn tail and run? No! I faced it head on, I read on it, I watched YouTube videos, I rebranded my LinkedIn account and followed top sales influencers, I had no intention of slacking on the job or let inexperience hold me back, everything I saw around me were opportunities, I dreamt marketing, I ate marketing, I was working in that company like I owned it, learn to love a job not because it is a passion but because it is an experience {Isabella Ibeji).
I will like to say once again, there are no preference in marketing, you're either good at it or bad but this should not deter you from taking up the opportunity when it presents itself, do not be an unemployed lazy person with a choice, being a marketing executive will always be one of the best things that happened to me not because I was very good at it at the time but because I was willing to learn on the job and do better.
To potential consumers/customers out there, please give everyone a chance a minute of your time may seem much at the moment to listen to a sales pitch but so many people have lost money making investments due to preference of Gender, free yourself from the thought that female marketers are easy marks for your perversions, listen to them as you would a new business deal, let us make this country great again by investing in ideas and making such ideas realities, Nigeria is a great Country but its growth remains In our hands.
bia op are u a teen or just tryna trend u must hve forgotten wen banks were using females to get account from big shots this is also done all over the world females tend to bring in more accounts and MARKET more
