There are sins.

There are acceptable sins.

There are abominable sins.

There are disgusting sins.

There are retarded sins.

There is every sin.

There is no sin.

The weight is all in the mind.

Fear factor anyone?
Christianity EtcRe: Some People Believe in Evil Spirits Yet Don't Believe in God by macalurs(m): 10:35pm On Nov 19, 2006
The one reason I detest religion is it's attempt to shift responsibility, and claim "devil caused it" or someother "spirit" caused it.

After I went through a study of multiple-personality-disorders in one of my psych classes, and after seeing what the brain is capable of, I'm massively skeptical of the witch-craft phenomenon. After studying about pathological liars, and the logic their brains create (that a lie is not a lie if it is believed to be true), I don't doubt that men could come up with something extremely crappy, and get ready to die for it.

Being a pastor's son, I was exposed to the supposed "witch-craft attacks" first hand. I don't exactly understand this, but sometimes stray cats meow funny at night, sometimes chase each other, maybe one's in heat or something. Those funny meows cause my parents goose pimples and in the dead of the night we begin to pray, the next day we fast, "The forces of darkness are close-by!!". It's just funny the way we play tricks on ourselves sometimes.

@macalurs,

the so-called "excluded books" of the Bible are nothing more than Gnostic writings. A very good example is the "The Gospel of Judas", purported to be among the so-called "excluded books" of the Bible. A book that was written 150 years AD. Excluded book indeed!!

I suggest you wikipedia about Gnostics and their beliefs and also the gospel of judas.
and the "Infancy Gospel of Thomas"? If you read my post well, I said "Maybe we could have found explanation to these debates and misunderstandings we now have". If you've read all of these missing texts of the bible, then yes I stand to be corrected. They were dispelled for different reasons, not just for reasons you mentioned.
Christianity EtcRe: Is God Really Omniscient (All-Knowing)? by macalurs(m): 6:47pm On Nov 17, 2006
I had painted a pict on here earlier that seemed to depict God a sadist, I was punished for that grin, but thanks KDK. I simply was trying to say, that man has no free-will, whether he believes in God or not, whether we write an equation of science or scripture. It's just one of man's attributes: his inability to have free-will.

The theory that every man will be saved in the end is just an inference. The same as the inference that states that every man will perish that does not recieve the gospel. They're just assumptions men make with available information-- the ones they understand. Most people recieve the gospel just as was said: second-hand.

We must bear in mind that there have been many books that were excluded from the Bible. You could check on that. Maybe we could have found explanation to these debates and misunderstandings we now have. The Bible in this respect, is incomplete.

The more indepth one researches, the more controversial his inference, simply because: "most people would rather die than think, and infact they do."

New yam Festival

I was young, when days were old
When gods of harvest bless'd ten-fold
And leafed men in masks esteemed sexy
That danced to please applauding bevy
And the ground shook beneath legendary stunt-men,
The rhythm, zealous lads as I, left us chanting:

"Onye akpala nwa-agu aka n'odu
    M'odi ndu m'onwuru anwu"
a

More masquerades, excitement at best
When Mkpokiti-- the legends of the dance-- graced the fest
Their charmed ladies dotted white in beauty chalk
Left us lads aroused and afraid to walk for swollen groins
And beneath my baked bare torso
My heart pumped palm oil, for the yam was today not tomorrow:

"Onye akpala nwa-agu aka n'odu
    M'odi ndu m'onwuru anwu!"

a: The chant simply is ibo. It means: May none touch a young tiger's tail, dead or alive

Yes you sure are getting better. See what happens is, after a while of writing with the same pattren and you feel you'd have exhausted everything there is to write with that style, then you'll evolve. Evolution in writting comes from research of other people's works, finding a role-model, and then try borrowing and modifying to you own.

Meanwhile, there's alot to learn from this pattern you write with, and alot to write about. Enjoy yourself writting in that way only you write, while you write about everything you can (from experiences to fiction) You most assuredly will get better, and with time, get a better flow of words. Creativivity begets itself.

Mark my words, by this time in 1yr, you'll be a genius of flow. notice how my writting style evolved?

Don't mind me. . . . I just love epic movies. Don't literally interprete everything on the poem to equate my perception of the evolved thread. I've been checking in here often and my my, there're lot'a new faces (abi new usernames). But when the debree settles and the dust is swept off, big-mac and frank and genial (and others legit.ly) pick up where they all left off.
Literature/Writing AdsRe: Poetry Contest by macalurs(m): 3:07am On Nov 14, 2006
This poem explains it:

Warlords

It started as a friendly duel, shots fired but we stayed cool;
But time passed and fumes of gun-powder beckoned warlords of brute and power
And in a flash, our innocent poetic playground, became a den where freedom found
A world with neither rules nor tenets, where guns blazed and heaven rain'd bullets

I bow to no king amongst villians of equal vile, and deem none amatuer, for each his style
But stay I true to one: NILLA the Queen; when she order ''ARMAGEDDON!'' the battle begin.

TASTE OF POETRY

Remembering how dull life past was
Only to discover the beauty of poetry
Truly a wondrous delight

Sometimes it leaves my eyes with tears
Sometimes it leaves my lips with a smile
Sometimes it even leaves me ecstatic
But every time my day is refreshed
As I begin to look at things with an artists eye

So I say thanks to all
For adding something good in my life
You have given me a taste of poetry
And now I can’t live without it.
Thanks baby, you're awesome.

@Macalus what kind of materials do you listen to huh ? listen song like Intergrity music, like Marvin sapp ? e.t.c ?
i honestly would hate to brag. I know those guys, they're reeealy good. But there isnt anything they play I haven't, I'm past that. I listen to victor wooten, Jaco pastorius (some of his stuff not all) stanley clark, marcus miller. All of these guys are renowned world class bassists, abraham laboriel isn't good at all (compared to these guys), all of them have their distinguishable styles.

I'm working on my inventing /originating my own style of play. It's a blend of soft rock (intergrity music style) with jazz, all improvised on the bass guitar (as in holding chords, making drum beats, and adlibbing/ fingering, all on the bass guitar.)

I created my own thread on this, why don't u check in there let's talk music.https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=30416.msg701706#msg701706

Music/RadioMusicians And Vocalists' Thread by macalurs(op): 8:55pm On Nov 12, 2006
I'm into advanced bass techniques. I'm learning from victor wooten and marcus miller two of the best bassists in the world. I've been experimenting on artificial harmonics but my amp is not powerful enough. But so far so good. I play improvised chords on my bass guitar, and being a vocalist too, I perform, me and my bass guitar.

Infact this thread is open to musicians, skilled or not-too-skilled. Just post how far you are into music making. Maybe we could encourage and also help up-comers (if there's any such thing in music-- everyone is upcoming); But then we all could learn something invaluable.
