i experience overheating in very traffic on very hot days.. after a while.. my mechanic said The fan isn't spinning as it should so he flushed radiator and changed fan... however the overheating continued on very hot days and traffic but temperature goes to normal once i put off AC...
now i observed later that i started losing coolant.. so he pressured check and we saw radiator has started leaking now... so he suggested we replaced the radiator and change gasket that the gasket may be the reason why the overheating persisted after we fixed the fan back then ...
now my question is hope changing this gasket won't affect engine performance because right now the car drives really fine and responds well... and I'm shocked he's saying we change gasket... especially when i don't have white smoke in exhaust or oil mixed with water or anything... even performance is fine...
just the overheating in intense traffic or when parked in the sun for long with AC ..
please help me please
This might sound silly, but are you sure the two fans work when you turn on the AC?
remi4ever: Hello guys. I noticed that my car's horn were changed, but this new born has no port for the socket so the wires from each socket was tapped and passed to the horn.
My issue now is if I plug in a fuse to the horn fuse, my dash light comes on.
If I remove the horn relay the horn doesn't work.
I think this issue is why I have a p0685 code. I do not like seeing the check engine light and this is the only code I have. Meanwhile, the horn works perfectly and my car has no issue whatsoever.
But the horn works without the fuse and plugging in the fuse turns on the dash light. This is a wrong behaviour.

This is typical of rewire abuse. One rewire has sexually abused your car. Find the wrong connection and save yourself from tears down the road.

Abeg i get an mdx 013 with tpms and battery sensor light on. The tires are well inflated and the battery works fine. There is also a sound coming from the front driver wheel. Is there a good mechanic (that does home pickup) you can recommend? Or one around Magboro/Arepo axis

"Well inflated" can also mean overinflated. Check your tire pressure with a good gauge and be sure the pressure is within specification. Don't just say it is well inflated.
My Lexus RX 350 2014 is bringing out 3 codes when I scanned.
(1) P0037 H02S heater control 1 circuit low bank 1 sensor 2.
(2) P0128 Coolant Thermostat.
(3) P057 H02S heater control circuit low bank 2 sensor 2.
Those are three code I got when I scanned the car. Any advice please🙏🙏
Easy fix. (1) Replace your bank 1 O2 sensor. (2) Return that thermostat your kazeem removed if you want your engine to last. (3) Replace your bank 2 O2 sensor.
Dpzeewonder: NB:I don't know much about auto terminologies Please i drive a Nissan Sunny ex saloon 2004 manual transmission.It happened that i was driving recently then i stopped in traffic,but i noticed my car was doing as if it was going to go off which prompted me to keep pressing the throttle just to keep the engine working.Thinking it was fuel,i bought more fuel then hit the road,this time around the car started jerking which i managed to drive it home.Later i took it to a mechanic's place to maybe increase what i understood as "SLOW",a move that got my car system destabilized completely because he first asked me to change my spark plugs,which i did,yet the problem persists,he loosen what he called Airflow meter,he loosen throttle cable.Once he starts the car,it will start normally and immediately the sound will reduce like the car will go off then picks up again.Since he did not get what's wrong,he disconnected a sensor telling me it the airflow meters that are beginning to go bad,immediately he disconnected the airflow meter above the compressor,the check engine sign came up. To shorten the whole story,another mechanic looked at it yesterday who asked me to change fuel pump,buy injector cleaner,i did all these,yet no changes,he checked the sensors.While trying to check the crankshaft sensor located in a very difficult part of the engine,the car would not start again,when he tried to key in the sensor back as he was unable to remove it,the sensor broke,Now the sensor has been removed by a panel beater and i sent money for another one,when the car would not start he scanned it and he got a Crankshaft sensor error,Please what can you suggest with this whole story and experience of mine because this car is one car that does not give me issue but unfortunately am experiencing this at the moment. Your cat has been kazeemised. Find a better technician and start undoing all the things they destroyed. The first step to fixing any engine problem is to get it scanned. It might do you good to get your own scanner.

The initial mechanic I was using insisted on changing the rocker arm pressure without him even checking too see what might be wrong
CharleyBright: You also mention Fuel Filter. The filter was cleaned recently. So that rules it out . The Fuel Pressure regulator is what I don't know about.
The fuel filter in my Honda is sealed. You really can't clean it. I don't know about peugoet. But I doubt any filter can really be cleaned. I still suggest you change your fuel sending unit as one, not just the pump.

The problem you described is classical of Honda VTEC malfunction. I don't know why you didn't get the code on your own scan, but I'm sure your kazeem's code reader wasn't lying. The other codes you got can be other coexisting problems. At this point, just take your car to a good technician.

Your cat has been removed. If you need it back, then buy another one and put. But believe it or not, your catalyst has little or nothing to do with fuel economy. It is specifically for emissions control (reducing the bad gases released into the atmosphere). Find out what is wrong with your car and have peace. Start by scanning the car cos I know there must be multiple errors codes.
CharleyBright: Good evening All, Pls I need help with my 2004 Peugeut 406. Recently, it doesn't accelerate enough especially when u switch gear from Gear 1 to 2 or 3. Infact, on gear 3, it stalls as if I want it want to go off. Worse still it struggles bad to climb small hills. But if I switch off the engine for a few seconds and restart the car, it moves well and then starts same process of dragging after a few meters. And when you off engine and restart the car, it moves well for like 100 meters and drags when u change gear to 3. Even if you press hard on the throttle, the car drags badly. It is not fuel issue, cos there is enough fuel of over 20 litres in the car.

I had a very similar experience on my Honda V6. Like exactly what you described. At first I thought my gear has packed since the thing will move well on gear one but starts misbehaving in gear 5 and eventually can not overtake a tortoise. It ended up being the oil pump. Maybe you should check that first.
Note: it is always adviceable to change the fuel pump as a complete assembly, not just extracting the actual fuel pump. A couple of things in that assembly helps the pump work well and last long. Things like fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, etc. If you don't change them, what happened to the first pump might happen to the new pump. I'm talking from Honda experience.

I took the car for scanning and it read rocker arm pressure.... I saw it here from a guru on nairaland that only the rocker arm pressure switch should be change, but the technician said we should change the whole rocker arm.
The problem is he hasn't even check the problematic part too know if we can still use it or change the switch alone. He insisted on changing all the rocker arm pressure...

What is "rocker arm pressure"? What codes are you getting? Your kazeem wants to start by changing the whole rocker arm? What exactly do you mean by " whole rocker arm?
Anyways, your problem might have nothing to do with your spark plugs or injectors. Check these in this order.
Macmilla: So I did something stupid this afternoon. The p0011 code I was having disappeared 2days ago and didn't return. But mumu me had my mind already made up that my VTC actuator has been kazeemised. So despite the code clearing on its own, my brain was just not at peace. So I went ahead to open up my valve cover and my actuator (yes, I opened up the actuator itself) and lo and behold, it has not been tampered with. With the actuator open, I removed the locking spring and pins and turned the crankshaft while watching the actuator vanes and it was actually free from the sprocket, ie, it was working as supposed. I was happy, angry and confused all at the same time. Why did the code persist for so long? Why did it suddenly clear when I'm about to go crazy on it? I'm sure everything is regards my VTC is working fine, which means I've not found the problem. Or maybe there was never a problem. My brain is headaching me. And as normal, one or two things were damaged in the process, all for nothing. I hope that evil p0011 doesn't come back if not, I will just set the car on fire and have peace of mind. (Don't worry I no fit burn my only car )
So, unfortunately, the evil p0011 came back today for no obvious reason after exactly 1 week of no codes. I'm beginning to think my village people are after me. I tried to set the car on fire but I no get money for fuel as fuel don cost.

A failing or bad fuel pump will stall or shut down an engine when in a traffic jam or while Ac is turned on during idling . Those were the two thing that happened that got me changing fuel pumps. I bought these news pumps three times before I finally opted to buy buy "Tokunbo" complete fuel pump assembly. Bad fuel pump will stall your car in a traffic jam, I thought we all know about this because whenever mine happens, drivers would pass by and tell me to go change fuel pump
You would struggle to climb upward slope of a bridge. You might also be struggling to go past some certain high speed. You will be pressing the pedal but your speedometer guage would remain the same except you brake a while and pedal hard.

Silly question. Solution to a leak is to plug the leak. Even a 5yo knows that.

my bet is on the fuel pump. It is likely failing. let your mechanic check the pressure of your fuel pump. It has happened to me just as you described.
That does not sound like fuel pump issue. A failing fuel pump will give issues when higher pressure is needed, that is at high speeds or when accelerating. This will manifest as loss of power. OP never complained about any issues at high speeds or while accelerating.

If the P0011 returns, next thing to check is the VTC oil screen then the VTC solenoid which has screens too. Any of the 2 clogged screen will also cause the P0011. Low oil pressure could cause it too. That means, change engine oil filter.

No 1 is not an issue now, was an issue when I bought the car. Have done three oil changes since then, more frequent than normal, just to clean the insides of the engine as the previous owner was TERRIBLE with oil changes. Use the right oil weight currently.
Changed the vtc solenoid too, same thing. Vtc strainer was cleaned and returned, so also out.
As for the oil pump timing, I highly doubt this, as the engine is unopened and I have don't have any out of the ordinary vibration. But just to know, what kinds of vibrations will oil pump timing cause?
Maybe like a Love Machine. The balance shaft is on the oil pump and has to be in synchrony with the crank shaft. If it's not, then your engine turns into a vibrator. Any woman in this forum can explain better.
