much love to all contributors, just digging this thread for the first time - i missed a lot but i'm doing some fast-track catching up!! and for those who complain its not fair to the artists when we freely download, its true, but think how much free publicity they get when people talk about their music and share it with others. I found some great new songs I couldn't have heard of being out of Naija for some time, but I'm hooking myself up easy, so keep it up peeps. ![]() |
Hellooo kay! If there's one person i'll wish merry Xmas and Happy new year on NL, it's you!! Cheers and keep it up ![]() |
mohawkchic:I believe her words are usually "wow-wow-wow" at the end of every performance when she gets a standing ovation, or Simon tells her how great she is. ![]() I adored her from the start, but then she really started to irk with the "i'm too modest for my shoes" act. In contrast, I prefer the way Diana reacts to praise, to me she's far more poised. Sorry to say, but in hindsight I think Alex is much too overated. She rocks as a poor man's Beyonce tho'!! PS @ Tats, how much money do you really think she'll make? She'll never be another Leona, I predict she'll fizzle into oblivion in a few months. as for JLS , I figure they'll last the long haul - and make more hits, too! |
You forgot to add one important tip: 7. The Breaker-Upper should never be the one to go back begging Since you've taken such time and effort making a "clean-cut" dump, you'd look pretty stupid when you later realise your mistake and try to get the dumpee back. Studies show that this happens mostly with guys. They keep changing their minds. Girls are so much firmer, they hardly look back when they do a breakup. They might be the weaker sex but when it comes to this they can be hard as nails. |
tRoOE:believe me, there're thousands of jobless mothers around. Talk about spiritual umblical cord refusing to cut! Shaa, it's good for momsy to suggest to u, but not force him/her down ur throat. |
hi, @posters, I have heard that even the smallest change in your diet can do a world of good, even more than exercise. If you can simply eat less and more healthily, you will see a positive change in no time, without the stress of rigorous exercise. That can come later when your healthy eating has made you fitter, with more stamina. A little self-control is really all you need to resist all those fatty foods. |
Just to buttress kaydkay's point, please, for Mature Readers Only, as these books are not suitable for persons under 18. The fact that they appear hear in a forum does not mean you don't have a choice: you do, so choose not to read if underaged. B.T.W., kaydkay, thanks, previous books were really good. I'm sure I will enjoy these, so your efforts' appreciated!. |
Now you're talking! . You're officially Mr. Niceguy on NL, so keep it up! Its gr8 to meet pple who like to share! |
darn, but she's tall!! It's tougher for taller girls when it comes to what suits them, so Michelle will always have a task on her hands. But I say, so long as she feels comfortable, she should wear what she likes. |
It's true she does look confused when it comes to her wardrobe. It's good to be simple and to be yourself, but when in the limelight, you have to be careful how you go down in history. I think it's R.Kelly that said that. . A stylist to advise her on her clothes and colours she should wear would not go amiss. Jackie Kennedy and even Hilary Clinton had a worthy, simple style to emulate. |
Don't mind those people, they almost spoiled their own show. Viewers are already losing faith in all these reality talent shows. Lucky for them the contestants were so interesting, noone could stop watching. But you're right that they could be fixing it. There's so much money involved, they can't afford to take risks so they twist the truth sometimes. |
Good one, kaydkay, I downloaded the second and third books, but had a prob with the first one, Sloth. I must say, kudos to you. More to come, I hope!! |
@mohawkchic, I have to say it felt anticlimatic when Alex won. I just thought a boyband deserved to win this year. The way Alex acts like its tooo overwhelming sometimes gets on my nerves. She needs to have more poise and coolness. She almost ruined that Beyonce duet with her "Oh my God, I'm singing with Beyonce" antics. I'm proud of JLS for not crying or acting devastated, though they looked really sad. An overall predictable ending, another girl wins the X-Factor. PS, did anyone else think this was the best show ever though? The duets with Westlife and Boyzone were the high points of the whole series!! I could watch it a 100 times!!It was really cool. |
Next time, poster, try and be more clear. I'm sure you were trying to say that the food had a strong aroma, not that it was "smelly" like in a bad way. What the nose can't stand, the mouth can't stomach. But from the fact you're still alive after eating it, I can tell you stomached it quite well. ![]() |
Haunting. I guess that was the desired effect. It worked. ![]() |
@mohawkchic, almost everyone that's left the show had bad press before they left: Laura was rumoured to be dating one of the show's execs - the next week, she left. Rachel's brother is in jail for murder, that was in the press too. She left soon enough. Diana's story is that, she lied about her throat illness or something. Now she's out. The press always have something to do with it! These are young people, why can't they let these kids be? Now sweet Alex is being threatened by an ex - and the press are eating it all up!! Not fair at all. mohawkchic:it's official, Diana has broken up with her boyfriend, and now she's with Eoghan. Only God knows what went on in that house!?! |
People are sceptical about JLS - they think Aston (the smallest, lead vocal) is the only one with a great voice. And Alex is being haunted by a sex video held by her ex-lover, so bad press can get in her way of winning. I choose JLS because they really need a break. Also, Marvin is so darned cute I can't help but wish him well! PS-Oritse is Nigerian(i believe) so that's another thing. Heard he has a crush on Alex (they all do), and that she's dating one of them. That girl sure works fast!!! |
Very rythmic, almost song-like. Like something Chinua Achebe would write if he wrote poetry. (Does he?) Anyway, if these are original lines from your ink, I say kudos. . But why do two poems on death? Sweet, yet gloomy. I like it. |
Yeeahh! Diana's out, with her quirky claws. Didn't know she was so popular with the others though, Egg-face was totally gutted. Whatever. JLS to win, or else!!! Love Alex, but she wants to win too much. Doesn't she know she doesn't need the X-factor prize to make it? she's a star no matter what happens. So, JLS to win!!! |
Now I know it wasn't Nigerian food he's talking about. Which food cooked with blood and "hard" meat do we have, at least to serve to a guest as an everyday meal . Puhleese, find the true nationality of the woman's house you ate at. Besides, Nigerians are notorious for overcooking their meat. Soft white things and blood ko, hard hard HARD meats ni. |
Hello Koksy, nice thread you have going here. Please, I need to know what to take for aching and painful ankles. For some time I've been having a swollen left ankle that aches like mad in the morning. Some people say it's the cold. Pls what do you suggest, I need to get my life back fast. Me that used to walk miles for exercise, I can hardly walk after 6pm. I've used heat rubs, taken painkillers and used foot bandages. Pls help!!! |
He was initially just asking a simple, howbeit rude question. But it's clear he has no respect for African peoples and their culture. It's a pity in this day and age. And PS, I've eaten or at least smelled a lot of Nigerian foods, but not one smells funny. Even iru, which is not a "food", doesn't smell that bad, so I don't understand the essence of this post. People really need to learn some manners. Thanks Yous. |
For people who are looking for love - stop looking! It's meant to be found, not sought. You'll stumble onto it, trust me. ![]() |
Go shopping - do some retail therapy, buy yourself some kick-ass, feel-good clothes, shoes etc. Focus on you: lose weight, get make-overs, go to the gym etc. Looking great is good compensation. GO OUT. Meet new people, hang out with good friends and family. PS, that rebound thing really works!!! Go for it. Just never go back to your ex after that. It'll never be the same! |
If you ask me . . . neither. Don't really understand the fuss. Tom's not so tall, and Brad is too rugged. My opinion. . |
titilaelae:so true . Now I know why my cousin does not eat outside, no matter what. I used to think he was "forming", but now I understand. Maybe he suffered one serious stomach upset when he was younger, but in all my grown years I've never seen him eat at any restaurant. Even to eat in people's house, na problem. I think that's a very healthy lifestyle, but how many people can maintain it? . . . with so many 'long throat' around . . . |
disturbia:lol lol |
If we're judging by which writer is the most enjoyable to read, then I'll go for Cyprian Ekwensi. |
Victor has had his good moments in movies, but Nkem Owoh is far more talented. He puts credibility to the word comedy. I'd pay to watch him anyday. |
I think I liked the style of the first LondonTown story. The raw comedy was really cool. Not digging this new persona at all. ![]() |
Escale a Portofino - Dior |
titilaelae:ur own good! . If they leave me, I'll even add one more seasoning satchet to my own. I save all the extra ones kept aside by my siblings. It's a bad habit, I know. But I haven't eaten it in a while though. |
