rule 3 : no pinching from the food you're preparing!

I'm guilty: I end up eating most of the meat/dodo/yam whenever I'm frying. I always use the excuse of 'tasting'. I usually get in trouble for shortening everyone's ration! grin

LiteratureRe: Nora Roberts Or Daniele Steele? Who Is Better? R They Worth Reading? by maedan(f): 4:50pm On Nov 08, 2008
I can only remember trying to read one of Danielle Steele's books back in the days, and let me tell you, she can sometimes make you feel tired of life when you read her storyline. I mean, the ongoing trauma and stress embedded in each chapter. I ran away quick.

Nora Roberts makes more sense. You have up to 100 of her books? What does that tell you? She has to be good.

Really, I'm not going to be able to keep up! I'm getting poet's block!
You're the in-house undisputed RhymeSter(Star).
Makes me think you'll go far.

Carry on the great work,
As for me, I'm now a poetry dork!
PoliticsRe: The Nigerian Obama - The Time Is Now - The Choice Is Who: ? by maedan(f): 10:06pm On Nov 06, 2008
You're right, I think Nigeria needs a charismatic, down-to-earth young intellectual. The only question is, will he be given a chance, the way Obama was given, not only by his party, but by his country? No decent politician can survive in Nigeria's political climate, it's too polluted.

I see your smile
And all seem worthwhile
In your eyes there is light
To brighten up my dark night
You are gay and you fill my life with joy
I'm like a child with a new toy
Very excited and curious
But sometimes destructive and furious
Thank you so much for your love
It's like a nice soft warm glove.

I'm a gentleman, a scholar
A man who does not holler!!!!!
You can 'hola' at me anytime! grin

No seriously, real gentlemen are hard to find!

And when they've got the right frame of mind . . .

Makes a girl feel like she's struck a gold mine!!

FoodRe: Bad Habits in the kitchen by maedan(f): 7:28pm On Nov 05, 2008
u people are talking. What about all those world-famous chefs u see on Tv that do all those fast-track cooking, see how they talk incessantly while they cook their world-famous recipe, enough spit on Gordon Ramsay's food on that his Cookalong Live. And that his Hells' Kitchen programme - ugh! I saw enough atrocities committed by the in-house cooks.

Me, i think cooking should be done neatly, fuss-lessly. And Quietly! wink
FoodRe: Has Anyone Seen This B4? by maedan(f): 7:19pm On Nov 05, 2008
i'm very sure it's a joke, I mean the packaging looks very poor. No one would think of producing a BOTTLED egusi soup line. How many will they sell? Too risky a business. So I say, HA HA, very funny idea.

Foreign AffairsRe: US Elections 2008 Results: Obama vs Mccain by maedan(f): 6:16pm On Nov 05, 2008
how can anyone even think McCain would have made a better president? My goodness, from the way he ran his campaign you can tell he's a poor strategist. And picking Palin! Talk about self-destruction!!! Meanwhile, Obama handled everything with such a high level of intellect, cunning and common sense. He raised more money, used more media, made more impact. He drew the youth, the educated and enlightened to his corner. And he never resorted to the age-old style of mud-slinging like McCain did. So who the heck would you choose?

We are all contemporaries
There is only a difference in our memories
You can almost always tell
A giraffe from a gazelle
But you can't tell people apart
Especially when they are alert
We have been such as draw
The losing straw
You of your gentleness
I of my rashness
Both of despair
Yet still might share
This happy will
To love despite and still

it's clear more and more
you're quite quick on the draw

who am I to compete
with such literary feat

all in all I am sure
you'll be hard to ignore!

RomanceRe: Research Proves Break-ups Affect Emotional Stability Of Students by maedan(f): 3:02pm On Nov 05, 2008
In fact, I think the government should organise serious counselling projects, they should go around school campuses, even secondary schools, to educate young people to stay out of serious relationships until they graduate from Uni. You can hang out, have friends, etc, but stay off any stupid love affairs. Period.
CelebritiesRe: Fabulous Over 40 by maedan(f): 2:43pm On Nov 05, 2008
Sharon Stone never had cosmetic surgery?

Don't tell me those are her boobs! Unless she used a body double in The Specialist (1994), in that shower scene with Sly Stallone. If not, then kudos to her!
PoliticsRe: Sss Arrests Another Online Journalist by maedan(f): 2:02pm On Nov 05, 2008
this is an outrage. But if enough people make a fuss, maybe they'll release him quickly and unharmed. Troublemaker or not, he should be the least of their problems.

Obama is not just the American president, he's everyone's president. At least, in our hearts smiley
Not just in Africa, but all over Europe. The goodwill here is amazing. Even Gordon Brown is claiming "Me and OBAMA have a lot in common."

Someone woke me up with this text this morning:

Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther could walk . . .
Martin walked so Obama could run . . .
Obama ran so our children can FLY !!!

Obama taught us about the audacity of Hope.
That's the biggest thing I'm taking away with me from this.
God Bless Obama & Family.

Ooooh! i almost forgot i made a promise
Please, i'm not a tortoise

Who committed a sin
And thought he was never seen

The long arm of the law
Caught him and brought it to fore

He was tried before a judge
which he attempted to dodge

He was thrown into a cesspit
Which all deemed fit

He was there a long time
And never complained of the smelling mine

Until he saw someone coming
To release him in the morning

''Hurry'' Tortoise mouthed
''The stench down here is unbearable'' he shouted.
grin U never cease to surprise
To read you is a prize
It's like food to the eyes
Please keep up the creative lines grin
RomanceRe: Research Proves Break-ups Affect Emotional Stability Of Students by maedan(f): 9:43pm On Oct 31, 2008
people in school should stay off romance, period. Especially in Uni. This is why so many people graduate with low grades. Breakup, heartbreak+school work do not mix.

Seun:
Obama is not black. He's 50% white, 50% black.
Why do people keep forgetting that?
OMG, y'know I never looked at it that way. He isn't BLACK. But how come he's looked upon as a champion from the African-American ranks? This is getting too deep for me. I guess deep inside we really wish he was 100% black, ie two black parents, so he can really stand for the black struggle like Malcom X and Martin L. King did. Well, this realisation has really ruined it for me now.
