Christianity EtcRe: Adeboye Blackberry Open Heaven $4.99 Usd by maedan(f): 11:16am On Mar 09, 2010
TCD:
My dear, literature = literature.

The Awake! and watchtower magazines are given FREE EVERY MONTH! That is an average joe receives 24 of these free magazines throughout the year. And better they come in full colour too unlike the Open heavens.

Now bind the 24 issues of these magazines you recieve in a year and compare it to the open heavens Adeboye is merchandising all over then tell us your observation. Lets stop with these silly excuses please. Is salvation not awoof too? Why don't you go tell Jesus say e dey run your belle.

Is the Grace of God not awoof? Please forward your adage to the Almighty God so he can learn.
What are you saying and what am I saying? Colourful informative magazines being compared to Open Heavens, a book. Do you know your literature at all??

And what is a silly excuse about calling it awoof to want to get all your Christian literature for free?? I love J. Witnesses' publications, I remember buying one of their BOOKS - "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived". I remember it wasn't cheap. It was a hardbound BOOK about Jesus Christ and his life on earth. Why didn't they dash it out to me eh?? Maybe as an incentive to join their fold, hmm?? For where!! I bought it once, it was borrowed (permanently) and I had to buy it again.

So what I'm saying, madam, is that in the Church, some things come with a price tag. Deal with it.

Comparing free/not free literature to the Grace and Salvation of God. Are you for real??
CelebritiesRe: Lil Wayne Jailed In New York by maedan(f): 10:29am On Mar 09, 2010
Diamond and gold teeth worth £100k hmm? Weezzzzy!! You try. This making-the-best-out-of-your-jailtime phenomenon is getting out of hand. Writing and making videos while in prison for a year. What ever happened to sitting around quietly, doing out your time, and coming out reformed tongue? These Americans!!

PoliticsRe: Jos: Mans' Inhumanity To Man [graphic Photos! Exercise Discretion] by maedan(f): 10:19am On Mar 09, 2010
This version of the topic is more humane because it gives a link to see the pictures, it doesn't just have the pics posted directly on the thread!!! I mean WTH!! Like someone said once, these are human beings we're talking about here, not chickens. Just writing "viewer discretion" in the title is not enough, the pics must be kept out of sight. Those who want to see it, can simply click on the link.
RomanceRe: Nairalands Hottest Man? by maedan(f): 10:16am On Mar 09, 2010
Lol, you guys are funny. Well, I came in for my daily dose of "jaquancetamol", but the pic keeps popping in and out over here. Anyway, take it easy, guys. Girls just wanna have fun, we don't mean anything by it so don't take this all to heart tongue.
Christianity EtcRe: Adeboye Blackberry Open Heaven $4.99 Usd by maedan(f): 10:13am On Mar 09, 2010
Will you guys quit mentioning the Witnesses? I mean let's face it, I love their free literature (though they always do ask for a "token"wink, but can it honestly be compared to a devotional like Open Heavens and its app version?? People pleeasee!! These are informative and edifying "pamphlets" and booklets. They must have a way of producing it cheaply, maybe a sponsor even handles the publishing for them for free. But can you honestly expect the same from a whole book that is the Open Heavens?? Let's start being real and realistic here. Too much awoof, they say. . . well, don't let me finish.
FashionRe: Oscar Fashion - Who Wore It Best. by maedan(f): 10:07am On Mar 09, 2010
Thinking about it now, the one dress I would have worn to the Oscars (if I ever got invited tongue cool) is a dress like Mariah Carey's. It's a cross between "I should wear a long dress, but I still want to show some leg". Looks like the norm for the evening was "flowing evening gown", but Mimi got away with her sexy blue number. And that was the best shade of blue for the night!!
PoliticsRe: Jos: Mans' Inhumanity To Man [graphic Photos! Exercise Discretion] by maedan(f): 7:15pm On Mar 08, 2010
Oh my days. I've never seen anything like it. Even kids with their. . . Gosh, may God give the killers the punishment they deserve - in this life or the next. What kind of hatred will make people kill their fellow human beings in such a gory way? In fact, why kill at all? This is not like just planting a bomb and leaving it to do the damage. People actually killed others with their own hand. Heaven help us.
FashionRe: Oscar Fashion - Who Wore It Best. by maedan(f): 7:05pm On Mar 08, 2010
Umm - I think I forgot to add Worst Dress: Sarah Jessica Parker. Ooops, sorry. That wasn't a dress, if we're going by convention. Sidebe from Precious did not do herself any favours either with her batwing arms showing. Will someone please tell that girl to cover herself up!!? I'm all for being confident and happy in your skin but you don't wear a dress that should have "careful, you're about to view a disturbing image" written all over it tongue.
FashionRe: Oscar Fashion - Who Wore It Best. by maedan(f): 6:39pm On Mar 08, 2010
Hmm.
Most sensible dress: Kirsten Stewart. Color and style were top-notch. Though it would have suited her better if she were ten years older.
Most suitable (to her personality and body-shape) goes to Jennifer Hudson.
Honourable mentions: Mariah Carey (though I wish the dress had been gold or some other diva-esq colour) and Cameron Diaz (loved the little golden bows on the bodice.)
Most sexy (and my personal fave tongue) is Miley Cyrus.

The rest I wouldn't wear even if they were giving them away free - and I certainly wouldn't wear them to the freaking Oscars!!! Miaow.
TV/MoviesRe: Some More Ways To Know You Are Watching A Nigerian Film by maedan(f): 6:20pm On Mar 08, 2010
And oh, another thing:

You know you're watching a Nollywood film when the storyline drags on for an hour or two and then suddenly the film finishes with an unresolved, unexpected and foolish ending. Like they had to round up quickly because they ran out of production funds tongue!!!
PhonesRe: The Black Berry Craze by maedan(f): 5:30pm On Mar 08, 2010
Blackberry is rubbish, a fad that doesn't deliver 100%. I actually prefer Palm smartphones, and besides everyone knows that the iPhone is THE phone to have. Blackberry was meant for stodgy business people but now even fun-loving folks are buying BBs when it's actually meant to make doing business/working easier. It is not a phone for fun, that's for sure. Anyway, like the song sez, "it's your thing, do what you wanna do tongue."

TV/MoviesRe: Some More Ways To Know You Are Watching A Nigerian Film by maedan(f): 12:17pm On Mar 08, 2010
Lol. I like this.
You know it's a Nollywood movie when the leading lady is seen wearing the same pair of shoes/hair-do even if the film spans 20-odd years. They say: "Ten Years Later" and you look, and see that Omotola still has the same kinky-dreads weave tongue. Jeez. Poor continuation, people. LMBO.
Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Why Do Nl Girls Overseas Love Bragging? by maedan(f): 11:52am On Mar 08, 2010
lol @ krissykris. Since a large percentage of NL members (male and female) live/travel abroad, you weren't going to get much support with this topic. But the essence of your first post is not lost on me. Maybe some of the diasporian ladies you've come across gave a bad impression. Even home-based babes do that a lot grin. Anyway, maybe after this topic the guilty few will have a change of attitude wink.
TV/MoviesRe: Avatar, Insult Or Exaltation To Nigeria by maedan(f): 3:51am On Mar 08, 2010
I haven't seen the movie. Yet. So many mixed reviews. But why is it that they can't make a Hollywood movie without mentioning Nigeria in a disparaging way? Anyhow, I take it as a "levels" grin. They just love to hate (on) us. Lol.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Eyoniggar: You Are An I-d-i-o-t by maedan(f): 10:27pm On Mar 07, 2010
What a shameful thread/topic. I thought members were not allowed to create topics solely to attack/insult other members? Or izzit because the OP is a "mod"?
These kinds ofthings don't usually bother me. But I'm like, "Come to think of it, don't ordinary members get banned for less than this?" Or at least the topic gets locked.

Nairaland and its double standards. Shameful.

Aaw come on guys, don't be mean. If it's not your thing, then don't contribute.

@ OP, I'm a Spiderman fan, but judging by the strengths and weaknesses of both superheroes, I think Batman will win, hands down.

metro- men that take care of themselves!

i.e the men that women love!!!

yes hes a real nl member- he's nigerian suprisingly i think hes igbo!!!
Abekeade08:
Metrosexual men are like we women. They spend a lot of time on their appearance, plucking eyebrows, manicures/pedicures, mositurizing thier bodies e.t.c. I am not saying jaquan is very metrosexual, but he obviously cares about his appreance, look at his hair, the shaping of his mustache, his skin, nothing is outta place.
Got it!! I was actually thinking it meant, I dunno - a guy that swings both ways or something (sorry guys grin). Those tattoos shocked shocked kiss.
RomanceRe: Nairalands Hottest Man? by maedan(f): 10:53pm On Mar 06, 2010

Meadan, granted he is a bit metrosexual, but me and a few other babes have confirmed that jaquan for real. That's his picture. Ayetty knows this fact too.
LOL @ metrosexual. What the heck is that grin grin?? But if that's the real pic of an NL member, then, like my bad bad friend would say, there's a God somewhere!!!! LmBo cheesy.
PoliticsRe: Why I Speak Big Grammar - Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon by maedan(f): 10:51pm On Mar 06, 2010
Eziachi:
I can envisage a scenario now of him asking his wife for a glass of Hydrogen mixed with two molecules of oxygen, also known as AQUA while he is already joking/dying on his peppered food, while his wife is running around the neigbourhood looking for a proffesor nonesensical grammar to decode for her what her husband is demanding, instead of simply asking for a glass of water.
LOL. I wonder what he'll say when he wants them to err. . go to bed. She'll pro'lly lose interest by the time he finishes talking tongue.
RomanceRe: Nairalands Hottest Man? by maedan(f): 10:45pm On Mar 06, 2010
Excuse me, but that Jaquan looks like a model, don't think that pic is his. I mean from the eyebrows you'll know. Which ordinary chap would "shape" his eyebrows?? If the pic really belongs to the username, then fine, he wins the prize Y-fronts down! tongue
PoliticsRe: Why I Speak Big Grammar - Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon by maedan(f): 8:51pm On Mar 06, 2010
And by the way, is homo-sapiently possible (lol) to read for 7 hours a day?? I mean what time does he have to eat, work, rest, interact?? Pls his case is opprobrious cheesy.
