This is the problem Nigeria has. Why shoot him down before hearing what he has to offer. If he says he can do what he said and does not want to voice it on air obviously he wants to exchange it for something, enter into a pact with the guy, if it works you give him his prize if not we keep searching. I wonder how why that is so difficult.

I find it very nauseating each time people bring GEJ to the picture because they want to defend the President. It has gotten to the where I see that even if it is found that all the allegations against GEJ is wrong people would rather sweep it under the carpet because it has become a matter of principle for Jonathan to be wrong and Buhari to be right. Let us remember that it is only logical that we would get grains of sand in place of rain if we wish the ground above the Sky.

Truth be told, a lot of people especially from the entire Southern region had high hopes with Jonathan in 2011. In him people saw a man who rose from nothingness to such enviable heights even bagging a PhD. We felt we had a properly educated President with a humble beginning who would remember the poor and make Nigeria great again, but was the outcome? Jonathan betrayed the trust of the people. Himself and his cronies made the nation's treasury their personal cookie jar from which they deep their hands unrepentantly and plunged us into this unprecedented terrible economic woe we're currently experiencing today. Buhari was just unfortunate to have taken over at a time when things have really fallen apart. Here was a man under his reign we had the highest ever oil boom, selling at an average of $120 per barrel. People lost hope in the educated elites putting things right cos of Jonathan and were torn between the devil and the deep blue sea. They saw in Buhari a lesser evil. Whether that is true remains to be seen, but recent developments would challenge such assertion. Nigeria is just a messed up place I swear. Really don't know what we did to deserve these sets of leaders. The only promising one we had recently was cut short by the cold hands of death - Yar'Adua.

You ain't the only one. Channels TV is obviously biased to 'eyes that can see'. To me, channels was and is still the 'official private TV station' of APC just as AIT is PDP's. I'm yet to see a private TV station among the frontline stations that's truly independent.
And channels can be VERY BORING as in boring. AIT is more complete as a station than the overrated channels. Channels is very poor in entertainment & sports.

They support the APC in a very subtle way, the easiest way to see it is to listen to Salaiman Alede .

Everyday we hear different unsubstantiated allegations from the ruling party, it is either Oshomole is saying this or El Rufai is that. What happened to our courts? The other day Obj was accused to his face of monumental corruption and he was crying for proofs and most nigerians agreed. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

This rubbish has to stop. People should stop spewing allegations without proofs. Many members of the ruling party have become lawyers and judges.

Let's wait till the deadline and see what the EFCC will do if he doesn't show up.

Fake story

This is self serving and hypocritic at best. People with an eye for truth will see through the intent of this man's show of shame. If the former president is a criminal, you guys should try him in a court of competent jurisdiction and get this over with, this media trial should stop at once. Africans use to pride themselves in the wisdom of their elders, but I can see we now have a generation of elders that have lost touch with justice and fairness and have joined the wagon of character assassins and all that is amoral. it is said that a child may not know enough to loose a goat from its rope when it is in labour, however it is an abomination for a goat to give birth to its young while it is still being tied to a pole in the presence of an elder, Apart from being a General, the president has seen a lot of days and should know better.

In addition to the above, I must say that I fear for Nigeria. The burden of justice and fairness cannot be left to the conscience and discretion of one man no matter how saintly he appears, it is impractical to say the president is incorruptible. Even if he is, he is still subject to errors and misjudgements. What I see scares me in the sense that people loyal to the president are leading him to the gallows by making him think that he and his perceived team of loyal adherents are the embodiment of all that Nigerians desire. Also this does not help the process of nation and institution building, rather it presents us with a shepherd that may leave soon and set the house in chaos. Well back to Tunde Bakare, IN MY OPINION, he has since shifted from being a fair and neutral critic of government to a partisan stakeholder, his words cannot and should not be taken seriously as he has joined the train people of seeking favours from the president. I rest my case.

At the risk of sounding like a wailer one must point out that this declaration of asset is like preparing a credit appraisal report without including the financial analysis.

Going by this logic we can conveniently say Jonathan is a better son of the north compared to other past leaders from the area because he built almajiri schools for them as against sending them to beg for in the streets. Let us learn to be balanced in what ever we do because what goes around comes around, I have observed that from last year till date we have become politically careless as a people because of the kind of things we say and do. The burden of doing the right things cannot and placed on the conscience of one man but I see that some people are trying to make a God out of PMB, I am not saying you shouldn't all I am saying is wait until he leaves office. I carefully read your post and I think this is the most sensible post on this thread. Unfortunately people don't see it from this angle. It has always been in favour of the north at the expense of other regions . like u rightly said the SS and SE needs very intelligent politicians who have the interest of its people .
