Otapipia: This is not a matter of fixing his house. It is a case of a woman, a patriot who is willing to trade her marriage for a better and prosperous Nigeria. She is indeed a woman with a living conscience. She was first and foremost a Nigerian before she met her husband. Did I just see patriot, buhahahaha |

If what happened in Benue happened in his home town with half the number of his extended family wiped out, he would have spoken differently. If people saw this when they were voting in 2015 they would have voted differently. That is why people are being advised to use their voters card wisely as it has once been used foolishly. |

Gerrard59: Marriage doesn't stop people from cheating on their partners, neither does it stop sexual immoralities (which is a subjective phrase); what is sexually immoral to you might be moral to the next person.
Additionally, telling people to marry early even when they have not planned their lives properly is a sign of irresponsibility. While sex is important in marriage, it goes beyond sex. Your Hausa man analogy will not work as he'll later marry 3 more wives, cheat on them and procreate children he cannot take proper care of. Thereby, worsening the situation in the society more than fornication.
In summary, people should live their lives in a way that's not criminal minded and should not be criticised for it. I addressed all these in later part of the write up but it seems to be missing in your quote. Also sexual immorality is not subjective in the Christian faith. The lady that started the conversation stated her observation in relation to Christian fasting and the write up wad scribled in response to the original position. |

People become sexually conscious as early as 15 & 16 but the economics does not allow them get married until 30 or more. The million $ question now is between 16 - 30yrs what will they be doing with all the sexual energy and information in this our time. On another hand I had a hausa muslim gateman who told me he was travelling to the village only for him return from the village to inform me that his family has gotten him a wife. Compare that to what you have down south and you will see that the family and culture of the gateman has to a large extentent limited his chances of involving in fornication. This is not say I support arranged marriages but then we can adopt the principle of lowering the hurdles in getting married so that young people that want to get married wont be constrained by cost. Another reason for fornication in society is the cost of living. A young man who finds it hard to feed himself will not think of getting married. Even if he does he will hardly find any partner of his choice, meanwhile his sexual mountain is building up and with the kind of arousal that society dumps in the consciousness of the modern man through unsolicited songs and videos the young has no other choice than to look for a way to find someone who can lease or sell the desired satisfaction . The only way out of this is for Government to find a way to reduce the cost of living because, they will share in the punishment of fornicators since they laid part of the foundation that led to the preponderance of the act. Some will argue that marriage is not the solution to the menance of sexual immorality in society and that people will do what they want to do within and outside of marriage. I agree but i also know that there are some that will not have been Involved in sexual immorality if they got married on time and didn't have to burn with disire for too long. I will cover the issue of reducing adultery in my next post. |

Crime › Re: My Encounter With 'Dreaded' SARS Operatives In Lagos; Man Narrates His Ordeal by MahatmaGhandi: 11:55am On Nov 04, 2017 |
ChangeIsCostant: A Nigerian man has revealed his disappointment with operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) after his encounter with them yesterday in Lagos. The young man also revealed how he and his visiting friend were saved after putting a call to an Air Vice Marshall after their "illegal arrest". Read what Simon Utsu shared on Facebook.
Of recent, I've read zillions of narratives about the way the men of the Special Armed Robbery Squad(SARS) have been operating with reckless abandon and impunity. How they've turned a once respected unit of the Nigeria Police Force to a bandit of sophisticated armed robbers, assassins, ritualists, rapists etc. Never did I envisage I would/could fall into their 'trap'.
An old and very close friend of mine came visiting yesterday. At about 11:30pm, we stepped out to get some takeaway somewhere in Lagos, a stone's throw from where I'm putting up. We had done that and were on our way home when dangerous looking SARS operatives operating with a commercial bus (Danfo) cornered us gestapo style, pointed assault rifles at us and commanded us to get in. I and my friend did so albeit with a degree of reluctance. In the bus, there were so many people wailing and begging to be let go. I'm sure 90% of them were innocent 'wanderers'.
A young lad in that vehicle was even crying about how he was heading home from a late church program, the innocence in his voice was palpable. So much and so little raced through my head. I had heard lots of stuff about them and braced myself for the worst even though I knew they weren't going to take I and my friend far- my good ol' friend was there of course!
He brought out his phone to put a call across to his elder brother but discovered he was out of call credit. My blackberry was off but luckily for me, my smaller phone was still on.
He dialled the number on my phone and after explaining briefly to his brother, he tapped the closest policeman to us and told him he would like him to speak to his elder brother, who is an Air Vice Marshall(Major General equivalent). That was our 'saving grace'.
The policeman in a bid to exonerate himself and his team, lied to the AVM that we arrested because we were caught in a red-light zone. Needless to say, we were immediately let off the hook.
I'm now of the opinion that SARS should be disbanded asap. The deadly looking guys I saw yesterday don't deserve to serve as law enforcement officers; they would operate better as assassins or armed robbers. Save for the intervention of a senior military officer, I would have been coughing out a non-refundable 50,000 Naira(minimum) 'bail bond' today.

mrvitalis: Thanks for the insult
But how much did you pay as tax last month ?
And average car owner spends 600k a years to repair cars , and 80% of that is caused by bad roads ...if each car owner pays a car tax of 200k a year we would have over 4 trillion a year to maintain our roads ,now we have average of less than 100bn How do you think our loans would be ? Are you trying to argue that Lagos State does not have enough money to maintain roads, are you saying the revenue that the toll gate currently generates is not enough to maintain the road. My brother even if you no dey fear anybody at least make you fear God. Lagosians do not deserve further burden from this Government or any other one. I still maintain that he the governor should block his loopholes and cut his benefactor to size, instead of attacking the poor masses whose votes he claims brought his government to power. Despite that we pay our taxes (at least i pay mine and religiously ) we still have to pay for water, security, education and every other thing that is the respobsibility of government to provide with the proceeds of our taxes. The state government also gets federal allocation every month, which is more than enough to move lagos state light years ahead of what it is today, but this is africa where nothing works, the only african country that has the similitude of a working system is south africa which is being run by the machines and systems that the white man put in place. It is people that think like you and the governor that put africa in the hardship that is in today. |

Una never understand this guy tactics. The first rule of the game is that publicity whether positive or negative is still publicity. That is why an artist would rape an under aged so that he can be on the news, that is why p square would quarrel and make sure we know they are quarelling, that is why bobrisky would be who he is and pay bloggers to make sure we know, that is why tonto dike would do all she does and ensure it floods all the social media platforms. Now that we have established all these, let us come back to freeze. The man has been picking on several discusses to put his brand (himself) out there until he found his most recent gold mine in tithing and he has caused quite a buzz with it, kudos to him. In order not to be monotonous, he is trying to spice his rants with account hacking just like every celeb manager advises his or her client to do. The million dollar question now is what could possibly be in all these for him. The answer is not far fetched, all these are being done to increase followership in all his social media platforms. If you can get enough followers on your social media platform, it shows that you have a lot of people listening to you, and if people are listening to you, then big companies that want to sell their product(s) would engage you as a brand ambassador to promote their brand. Now you know why freeze and other celebs do what they do. Those that got hit during the crossfire especially the religious folks, well just consider it as collateral damage, the man would amend his ways and appologise as soon as he gets the endorsement that he seeks, dont be too carried away by it though because he will need drama to keep the followers. At the end of the day there is nothing personal in all these, just business. |

A country where young boys were burnt to death in broad day light in a community and the video went viral and still came to nothing, a country where the citizens are contantly being maimed by security agencies for sport. a country where helping an accident victim can get you into trouble, a country where victims shot by robbers die avoidably because a police report could not be obtained at the time in the hospital. Any body mentioning nigeria and civilised in same sentence is just being mischievous. As much as this is wrong, it is the only language that is understood in this country. |
Romance › Re: 7 Major Causes Of Break-ups Of Today’s Relationships by MahatmaGhandi: 2:53pm On May 31, 2017 |
importexpert: Many people once envisioned that their relationships would lead to something that would last forever. They expected that they would walk down the aisle with someone who was their partner at a point in time. Ever have this expectation too? If you did, feel at ease that many people also had the same kind of expectations. Unfortunately, life does not just consist of roses; it has thorns too. And those thorns can be piercing and painful. Likewise, many beautiful relationships have broken up. The partners probably never saw it coming. Their friends may not have ever expected it. But it happened anyway.
Here is a list of the major causes of break-ups in our world today. They are what I have observed and analyzed from events that happen around.
1. Cheating: This probably deserves the front position on the list. Most relationships are caused by the infidelity of one of the partners. The infidelity may be sexual or emotional cheating. In emotional cheating, your partner gets so tied up emotionally with the opposite sex till it seems they should be in a relationship with that person and not you. It can manifest through frequent calls, chats, outings, etc. Ultimately, when the partner finds out, trust is torn to shreds. There may be begging, and forgiveness but the trust is gone. Most times, it is only a matter of time before someone calls it quit.
2. Abuse: What is the point of being in a relationship where you should find happiness, yet you are getting abused every day? Abuse is not restricted to physical aggression; it can also be verbal. And both are equally dangerous. Physical abuse can leave you deformed or even make you lose your life. Verbal abuse on the other hand tears down your confidence, self-esteem, and peace till you become weary of life. By observation, women are mostly subject to physical abuse while men are more prone to verbal abuse. Either way, people are starting to muster the courage to leave abusive relationships for good.
3. Indifference: This is one of the worst causes of break-ups. What happens here is one partner struggles to make things work while the other partner just watches on. The partner is not necessarily asking for a break-up or seeking to build the relationship. You can call it a lack of devotion or commitment to the relationship. No matter how hard you try to make such a relationship work, one day you will get tired. No matter how hard you stretch to keep the relationship, one day you will snap. The reason is that your partner’s indifference will eventually lead you to a state of frustration where you just let go everything.
4. Exploitation: When most relationships start, it begins with love as an emotion. The feeling is indescribable. At this point, you can climb mountains for your partner. Soon, the feelings would die down, and reality would set in. The feeling dies down because it is erratic. This is where you are presented with facts about that person. Once you decide to love that person irrespective of what you notice, you have entered the real phase of love. The sad thing is that: by the time most people get past the initial feelings, they realize that though they loved their partner, that partner was merely taking advantage of them. What they termed making sacrifices for love was actually exploitation. Exploitation could be in the form of sex, money, fame, power, material possessions, etc. And once this is discovered, the relationship crashes.
5. Dead feelings: Many people today dump a relationship when they cease to experience the sweet feelings they felt at the beginning. They think a relationship must always thrill them and stir their excitement. They often forget that relationship may be fun, but it is work. Real work. It may come with its excitement, but it also comes with responsibilities which are necessary to sustain it. Their challenge is that they only want the excitement and not the responsibilities. As soon as they sense the feeling is gone, they quit the relationship too.
6. Ego: This is a rapid destroyer of relationships. When someone insists they are always right and want always to have their way, it is a bad omen. Refusing to apologize or refusing to yield to the opinion of your partner shows that feelings and views do not matter to you. Someone people can bear long and hope that their partner would change. Others have a low tolerance for such egocentric fellows and prefer just to end the relationship.
7. Unsettled issues: As you probably know, no relationship is perfect. The reason is that both partners have flaws and can make mistakes. Truth is: you will get hurt in a relationship. It may be through the words or actions of your partner. But it takes wisdom to settle the score and allow it to heal. Sadly, most relationships today have wounds that are left unattended to. When one partner gets hurt and hides it rather than allow it to heal, the wound festers. It doesn’t go away; it just gets worse with time. One day, such a partner would just decide they’ve had enough already and call it quit. It is better to settle issues quickly rather than ignore them and pretend they don’t exist.
Conclusion
So, there they are! Our past experiences cease to hurt us once we learn from them. Knowing the above can help you spot a red flag in a relationship and know how to handle it when the need arises. So, what’s your story? You probably have experienced any of these. You can share your views and experiences in the comment section.
I Remain yours: ImportExpert The number one killer reason often ignored is friends and family. These guys despite their love, support and innocence have poisonous fangs beneath their care. this care is often very useful and needed. However it becomes disturbing when it always seems to find an excuse to come and protect its own. this is suppose to be a good thing but then the partner of our loved one is not an assailant. this often leaves the other partner sad and after series of complaints would one day get up and seek happiness elsewhere. And once again the family is quick to jump in with the "there are many fishes in the river cliche" |
