Ok Noted. But why the delay in student permit applications in Nigeria? As we are aware, some peeps on this thread have applied since may/June, and they havnt gotten either an approval or a refusal.. So I believe it indirectly affects Nigerians..
MeinKampf:
Canada post has nothing to do with applications made outside Canada. So e no concern Nigerians

It was not specified, so it applies to both Paper and online...
ANaledi:
If true, it could affect/delay paper applications right?

Lol. It will end in praise bro.. Mine is 7 weeks..
ANaledi:
I’ve been too anxious about my own application so I’m being selective about what I respond to. 5 weeks and counting yet no medical call.

The way he kept repeating it just made me to voice out. When someone isnt a baby. Anybody that has that kind of challenge knws what next to do, not to keep disturbing the house cos of a primary school issue.
ANaledi:
Was hoping someone would do this patiently as I kept wondering why a login issue can’t be reported directly to the relevant quarters. It’s not exactly something anyone here can help with.
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by makano: 12:32pm On Sep 13, 2018
Mr Kishkosh, The house is tensed, maybe that's why no one has attended to you. No one here is a VO or works in IRCC to know how to solve ur "Unable to login" Issue. This isnt a big issue as you have painted it tho. Kindly click on the "Forgot Password" button, if that didnt work, click on the "Report a problem" button. If that doesnt work then send a mail to their respective email addresses. This isnt a big issue. Peace
Kishkosh:
Someone should pls help me naaaa. I earnestly seek your help guys. Abeg

Sorry for ur delay bro, but let me chip this in. Ur profile is obviously good for TRV approval as against the reasons for ur refusal. One thing about this CIC people that I have personally observed is the VOs that attend to applications. Lets assume 10 VOs attend to ur Application differently, am sure 6 will approve you cos there is progression in Career in ur App, u have strong Employment prospect and also u have other visas stamped on ur passport. Personally I have seen peeps here getting approval without SOP or LOE, and also without statement of Account. Like one of my friends who is in Canada told me a year ago, he said this Visa Officers also work on application based on their mood, A VO that is angry from home and gets to the office, its obvious the first application(that is so tight) she will work on will be affected(Likely Refusal) based on her current mood. While a VO that got an increase in pay or got promotion and works on an Application that isnt really tight can because of her happy mood just approve the application bebe. So my point is that these applications are in the hands of the VO that attends to them. I have noticed that one prayer we fail to pray here is that God should make our application get to the hands of the right VO(the happy Vo). please order for ur GCMS note and patiently tackle the reasons, take ur time and do not rush. And ur next application will def be approved. I await ur approval in the next application.
mightyola:
I am also confused.

In my application, I added two job offers I got from a multi national company that just recently started operations in Nigeria and also a micro finance bank.

I even currently work with a Top law firm in Lagos as their IT administrator and have a 1st degree in Computer engineering.

I will order my Notes today, waiting for a close family friend in Canada to respond. Thanks

Does the Bolded mean u dont have access to ur profile? If you do not, please meet with ur agent so he/she can give you access so u can monitor ur profile ursef instead of waiting for agent. The agent may be hiding somethings from you, u never can tell..
Tijaniacs:

Please check well, they would have updated ur biometrics, Cos I do not think they would have sent you a Medical request without them having a record of ur fingerprints and all. And you dont have to be worried bro, You are almosst close to Approval since you were sent a Medical request and you passed. Not that you did upfront medicals, cos an applcation that has an Upfront medicals passed can still be refused. So since you passed a reuested Medical from CIC, then you should get a message requesting for your passport soon. Congrats in advance
Hadastextiles:
Evening pals
Pls help a worried friend
I did biometrics July 23rd Bt since den it hasn't been updated. Dey sent medical request, Wc I did and dey already updated dat I passed Bt my biometrics haven't been uploaded yet.
What Shld I do pls?

I think there are rejections, just that those affected are keeping mute.. Also I learnt CIC has put an hold to study permits for the main time, focusing on other Visa types. Dunno how true this is though, but since we havnt been getting updates here, it may likely be true. Cos its close to a month now, no news from anybody. Its well
canadabyfire:
No approvals....no rejections....no updates....is CIC on strikehuh??

Hope their site maintenance brings goodnews.

Wrong moniker please...
segtak25:
Good.

But can you also check your undergraduate school website.
School like University of Nigeria have a portal for test of English proficiency where the school will attest on your behalf and it will be signed by the registrar or so.
It just 5k .You can even collect via email or courier.

So I will advise you to check your school transcript portal first before writing an attestation letter.

It's just an advise, I think will be faster.
Because Nigerian uni are poor with documentation.
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by makano: 10:00am On Sep 10, 2018
plis can you send me the attestation letter format?
bayocanny:
is not too early, the earlier the better... admission is first come first serve. I think some schools have open fall 2019 admission session on their website.
Concerning the English test, tell your faculty that you were taught with English language throughout your undergraduate studies, you may back it up with a letter attesting to it. if you are interested I have the attestation letter format, take it to your school and let your faculty officer or registrar sign and stamp it.

Its obvious u are very new here, Buh lemme briefly answer ur question, GCMS note is simply a note that tells you the real reasons why ur application was refused rather than the normal refusal letter u just uploaded a few minutes ago. I would have put up a link to order for ur GCMS notes, but the Moderator of this thread wont allow that. So I will advise you Google GCMS note or better still U can Search for GCMS on this thread, and all info about GCMS notes will appear for you. Goodluck
mightyokwy:
Abeg waiting be GCMS. In my first application I submitted my sponsors business registration documents and SOP. My sponsor also wrote a letter to them with bank statement with reasonable amount in it. Please can you help with good sop that can help the situation
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by makano: 12:14pm On Sep 07, 2018
This is easy to tackle with a convincing SOP on the reasons and also supporting documents. Meahwhile order for your GCMS note first.
mightyokwy:
My application was refused. Reason been that they are not convinced that I will return to Nigeria after my studies. Please what else should I do. Help a brother.

The post from @mcobex is enough to cause another rift on this thread after the ongoing Shithole bruhaha. But the maturiy of @ghabrhiel10 came into play through his reply and both ended wishing each other well. If @mcobex had said this to an Immature person, then we will be experience 2 different "fights" at the sam etime on this thread. Nice one @ghabrieh10

If you didnt do an upfront Medical, then its a refusal.
yungreezy:
Hi. Is there any chance for approval without medical? Does getting a request to pick up passport mean a refusal if no medical was done? Application had been on since 1st week of June

Buh seriously I dont want PGD applicants to get discouraged by dis idea of making PGD look so difficult. My point is that all applicants should just convince the VO that they are genuine students that will come back to their home country, na the koko b dt, Masters or no Masters. Not everybody can go for masters cos of their UG grade (Mostly 2:2), so PGD applicants shouldnt be discouraged cos as we all know recent approvals have been PGD applicants. And like I always say, the fastest application i have seen here was in 15 days and it was a PGD applicant.
jnyuwa02:
PGD is harder to get than masters as masters is harder to get than PHD. Many even without a previous masters, just switch from PGD to masters and effect the same result the woman you describe got.

Interesting. In ma close to one year on this forum, I haven't seen anybody gotten approved on Sundays tho.
jnyuwa02:
They work everyday all around the clock. They are an army strong comprising thousands of VOs around the world perusing documents and scrutinizing them. People in the past here have received updates at weird hours and even have been approved on Sundays!
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by makano: 3:29pm On Sep 03, 2018
Yea, her first application was refused cos of PGD simply cos she already had MASTERS, So going for PGD does not show Career progression. We have seen several peeps here of recent getting their Visa with PGD, so theres nothing bad applying with PGD. In her case PGD cant work for her, that was why she got her TRV with an MBA.
jnyuwa02:
Congrats! It is not too late. Most schools including TRU allow two weeks late arrivals. If I were in your shoes, I would make it this September. It’s glaringly obvious you were denied because of PGD before and all it took to change the story line is to apply for a masters. I have long championed this path here!
