The bold is part of the concerns raised by the op... This is what people have been misled to believe.
Brother, I live in Jos. I know for a fact that almost all the the Crisis on the Plateau were caused by the settlers hausas.

Hausas are not indigenous to Plateau State, but they've constituted themselves into nuisances fighting the indigenes every chance they get. Over what? Their lands and religion. Witness accounts of most incidences fault the hausa man. So if I'm not sure about the others, don't you think the ones I'm certain of will influence my believe of external accounts?

If everyone points accusing fingers at you, then you are guilty for sure.

Killing innocent people has become our profession and you think its ok to continue with the trend?

Is it ok for people to justify the recent killing because of the stereotype placed on the recent victims?

In the past, we both know that crisis of this nature would have sparked a reprisal attack in the north but all these have been avoided for healthy coexistence, but some people will still come out to arrogantly say the killings were justified... My friend, where lies our humanity?

The op asked critical points to debunk a false claim by your people led by FFKk but nobody is yet to prove him otherwise.

Killing innocent people irrespective of their differences should never be celebrated because the victim could be YOU.
Nobody is saying it's okay to continue the trend.

The Ife people wouldn't have engaged the hausas unprovoked. They know better than to visit chaos on their land.

What may seem like a celebration of the massacre of the hausas in Ile Ife isn't it. Were there celebrations? No. Were people happy that for once the oppressor has been served a taste of his own medicine? Yes.

For far too long, the hausa/fulani have been made to feel larger than life. They could get away with anything. This made people furious and some have vowed to fight the order. When it eventually goes down, you do not blame the retaliators because when you have had it up to the mouth, throwing up becomes your surest bet.

The OP didn't raise any questions worth debunking. S/he is just being the first to venture into a new endeavor of wailing and incitement of confusion.

I expect well meaning hausa leaders to engage their people more and reorient them on matters of peaceful coexistence.

In the history of conflicts involving the hausas all over Nigeria, they have been the aggressors 95% of the time or more. This means that if they changed, we could finally have peace.

Goodluck tried for them, no doubt.

But you know those people, they'll stone even LKY for turning Nigeria to Singapore provided he's not one of their own.

This man speaks like a true patriot and I agree with most of what he says, but the major solution to Nigeria's problems is not restructuring, it is still fighting corruption. Both political and economic corruption. If you restructure the country into regions and the regional heads are corrupt and incompetent, how does that help? A major reason the north is educationally backwards is because their leaders have diverted their resources and allocations for their personal use, and there is no accountability. It is the same problem with the Niger Delta, and if you check very well, you'll see that both the north and Niger Delta have similar issues - educational backwardness, insurgency, poor infrastructural development. To blame that on the central government is just plain mental laziness.
Whatever the structure of the nation is is not as relevant as having competent, accountable and economically sound leaders...
I share your sentiment. But when a certain people are always the problem, then I am in support of even outright division.

I can't live with a wife who always causes me problems. Someone who besides nagging and razing my investments, brings nothing to the table. When the wife is all these things but is willing to change, I will be more than willing to live with her. Otherwise, it's to your tent o Israel.

Corruption can be a topic only when one is alive.
PoliticsRe: Why North’ll Continue To Be Problem To Nigeria –balarabe Musa by malton:
The north has always been the problem with Nigeria.

While no region is perfect, no part of the country has consistently caused us the problems the north has.

In am era where countries we started making strides alongside have gone on to make their mark in food production and technology, we are still battling cattle rustlers and religious problems. No thanks to those who think religion is about killing other people in the name of their god.

It's hard to plan for the future when you aren't sure if you or your children will live to see tomorrow.

The progress the Western part of the country is making is not just down to education, but political and social stability.

People are increasingly moving their businesses to the East where they won't wake up one day and be told it has all been razed down because someone used the Koran to wipe his ass or because an American movie featured Mohammed.

Everything is fundamentally wrong with some northerners. And by northerners, I mean the hausa/fulani/kanuri.

Our children should not have to deal with the problems we have faced, but that's the unfortunate reality of Nigeria. How then is she to progress?

Always remember that the table could still turn... cool
What table, oga?

Killing innocent people has become like a profession to your people for donkey's years and you're here talking about the table turning.

It behooves on any hausa/fulani person to see that they table does not turn like you've insinuated. The table turning is a call for war. You've inflicted too much pains on other Nigerians as is.

Develop your people and shun all these wanton and unwarranted destruction of lives and properties. They've taken way too many lives. Their crimes against humanity are inexcusable.

cool

I wonder why people are making a lot of fuss about Leicester City's victory over Sevilla.

Their victory was down to Seville's shambolic defending and poor finishing over both legs than their magnificence.

What most people don't seem to know is that Sevilla has struggled of late for domestic form. Leicester's victory did not come to me as a surprise.

However, Atletico Madrid is a different ball game. I see them dispatching Leicester with ease, the exception being that Leicester ride their luck, for which there's not much chance.

On Madrid-Bayern, while I hate anything Madrid, I won't write them off. They seem to always find their way around the Bavarians regardless of the form they are in. So, current form does not factor in here. Anybody can win this one.

As a Barca fan, it's hard to analyze this one without being biased.

On the Dortmund-Monaco one, Monaco may just nick it due to their talent, strength, and character.

Overall, it promises to be four thrilling ties. And whatever happens, may the best teams win!

If you communicate in only Hausa like most of your people do, you wouldn't have been able to join in this debate, I hope you can now see why English is important if you are a Nigerian.

Mind you, English is our official language, as such, you cannot keep referring to it as a foreign language because we have adopted it as ours which is allowed all over the world. For example, Russian is an official language in Ukraine, Portuguese is the official and day to day language in Brazil, Spanish is spoken by everyone in Mexico, etc

The fact is, you Northerners do not like to cooperate with others, you like to exclude yourselves and do your own thing. It seems like there is a kind of superiority complex amongst you lot, a general feeling that you are better than other Nigerians

Stop making baseless excuses, you cannot engage anyone in a meaningful debate concerning this issue. The facts are there for everyone to see.

You cannot compare the value of hausa to English no matter how much you take pride in your origin. Most of your elite are well schooled and some of them even speak good English in their homes. It is your common tribesmen who are always left in the dark and the elite have done a good job in maintaining it that way

The governor that communicates in hausa to his people will travel abroad without an interpreter because he does not need one, his children speak polished English and school abroad, I don't know when you people will become wise
Damn.

I officially declare my love for you, pidgin2.

Well I agree with you for the most part especially the part where hausa see themselves as more muslim than other tribes or ethnicities ..... this might be because of the feeling that other tribes mix religion and some traditional beliefs......... this has reduced tremendously partly due to more association and co existence with other muslim from other tribes... And I believe there is certainly more room for improvement.... but what I hate and don't like on nairaland in general is generalisation

The moment something regarding hausa or the north is mentioned it's immediately taken to be terrible and bad

Imagine.... a thread on nairaland that show fayose ekiti governor distributing rice and 200 Naira .... most people (not all) immediately start praising the governor and how it's genius what he is doing

Moments letter another thread show Ganduje inspecting a multi billion Naira tiga hydro power plant and irrigation project..... immediately nairalanders including some prising fayose in the previous thread started bashing Ganduje..... saying how it's environmentally bad to build dams some went as far as saying that hausas will bomb the dam etc awful stuff you know

This occurs a lot here on nairaland where a southern governor commission a culvert and immediately he is commended but northern governor does thesame..... the insults begin to rain etc etc....

Hausas are generally hated because of preconceived notion of the north and it's people as bad..... And most at times by people who have not set foot anywhere in the north.....
I must admit that I am impressed by your sound reasoning skills!

What that guy I quoted does not understand is that I've been more like an advocate for the hausa man on this platform. He thinks almost everyone is out to pick on the hausas.

You see, religiosity has done a lot of harm to the people's psyche up north. Virtually every act is given religious coloration. That doesn't bode well for peaceful coexistence in a plural society like Nigeria.

They are too uptight to view things life from different angles because they have been brought up to act in an overly controlled way. As such, the people have become too close minded to accept other individuals as equals.

All these issues you brought up are offshoots of religiosity, which has led to intolerance and backwardness. The Nigerian people consider the hausa man as backward because he isn't educated and hates progress, this cannot be disputed.

Boko Haram has almost turned Borno state to a wartorn zone because of faulty fundamentalism. Time and again, we have seen and heard the hausas maim and kill all in the name of religion. Properties worth billions of naira have been razed to the ground in the past. So the bomb jibes aren't out of place.

The generalization is wrong, but its hard to tell them apart when they all seemingly behave the same. Personally, I know that the people constituting these nuisances aren't up to 20% of the hausa population, but someone who lives in Onitsha can be forgiven for thinking the majority of hausas are like that. Especially when the hausa man in Enugu wreaks havoc in equal proportion to the hausa man in Kano.

There are just too many problems plaguing the country because of the attitude of the average northerner.

With all sense of humility, I believe the Hausas need reorientation.

Ka ga, mallam, ka shiga hankalin ka. Wani irin rashin hankali ne haka?!

You're asking if I know what "kafir" means? Well, it alludes to a person who rejects or does not believe in God.

By referring to someone who has their own religion as kafir, you're implying that that individual does not believe in God. And so what if someone doesn't believe in God? Is it you that will go to hell or them? You lots are too stiff and judgmental.

You also refer to non-hausa Muslims as kafirs. It's pathetic and reeks of idiocracy. Like, what makes you holier than anyone? Hypocrisy? Surely not!

I have a kind heart, but were it up to me, I'd flush all such communities along with the criminals, provided pieces of evidence suggest they actually shield them.

With communities as this still standing, the war against bh is an exercise in futility.

Hausa may be your language but i'm sure you were given the opportunity to study English in school for easy communication with other tribes. This is why people don't like you guys, you have refused to be flexible, you don't want to learn and accept things that will unify this country.

How can you eat your cake and have it at the same time? You want to benefit from oil(which is okay) but you don't want to coexist (accept things that will unify us all). The ball is in your court, if you don't accept others you will keep meeting hostility everywhere you go (unfortunately)

Let's promote Nigerian unity
Your response is impressive.

The issue with them is religion. Forget everything else you have seen or heard.

They see everyone else as kafir, and as such, beneath them. That's why they have such arrogant disposition.
PoliticsRe: The Hausa Fulani, The Yoruba And The Slaughter In Ile Ife (1) By Fani-kayode by malton: 12:47pm On Mar 16, 2017
I agree with FFK 101%.

Firstly, his account is similar to the other narratives I have seen and heard. And while I wasn't an eyewitness to the incident, the pictures he painted is 100% the hausa man.

The average hausa man is ready to go to war at the slightest provocation. They are incapable of analytical thinking.

That's why I always advise people to be wary of most poor hausa people. They represent more danger than even the devil.

As they are without anything of their own, they won't mind destroying all you have toiled to build in a flash. Their destructive tendencies and violent behavior are second to none.

We have had similar encounters with them here in Jos in the past. And that's them, whether they are in Lagos or Ibadan. They are unapologetically troublesome.

That's not the nature of a good Christian. Christianity is progressive. When you regard yourself as better than someone else on the basis of religion, you lose the plot.

And besides, should we not view people on the basis of humanity first before anything else?

When God asked believers to be the light of the world, he meant they be different; nothing like the world has seen in kindness, goodness, forbearance, love, peace, gentleness, among other fruits.

Imagine a marriage taking place between Yusuf Buhari and Kiki Osinbajo and everyone gets to keep their religion.
