felixomor:Isn't it funny how you talk about intelligence but cannot argue your points out without resorting to insults? It's even more shameful that you reside in a country you barely know anything about. These are facts. But of course, blinded by religiosity, I do not expect you to see any of that. |
felixomor:Religion encourages income inequality. I still stand by that. What do you even know about the Saudi Arabia you just mentioned? The country is rich, yes, but the wealth does not trickle down to the vast majority of people. The gulf between the various socio-economic players is devastating. This in turn creates inequality. Saudi Arabia is a rich country by a lot of yardsticks. Still, it's a terrible country. It denies citizens lots of basic rights, all in the name of religion. What good is your wealth when you cannot enjoy it fully? You need to engage in some deep research. |
felixomor:Sure, there may be billions even. That's because religiosity promotes high income inequality. The high and mighty use religion as a means to keep the poor and downtrodden in line, create rosy expectations by painting a picture of hope, all while feeding fat on their resources and giving less accountability. Religion leaves individuals less time, ability as well as the resources to think freely based on facts. It's a vicious circle of activities that saps energy out of anyone. India and China are largely educated, the same cannot be said for largely Islamic countries where Western education isn't encouraged. Even in Christianity, a lot of people who dedicate their lives to such activities often perform below their capacities. It often takes an extremely sharp individual to effectively combine religiosity with excellence in other social aspects that benefit the society. I'm not saying religion is entirely bad, it's the intensity at which it is practiced that's bad. |
Religion has done a lot of damage to our psyche in Nigeria. If our people were half as zealous over education, economic and political institutions as they are over religion, even China would dream of becoming like Nigeria. These doom and gloom predictions about the trials and tribulations that humanity will face before the apocalypse isn't helping us one bit. People often fail to plan for the future because they feel the end is near. Some accept their low status in society because they have been led to believe that poverty is their destiny, and that they will be rewarded with everlasting joy when the world is brought to a close. For most, life has been about the ultimate plan; and as such, they have failed to take their destinies into their own hands. I don't really see religion as a positive social influence that could promote growth. We have had it for a long time now, and look where it has landed us. The fight for supremacy is now rife. Some have embarked on a conquest just to gain dominance. A good thing doesn't fight to gain acceptance. Only a bad one is forced. Until the day that religion encourages us to be committed to ensuring that this life is the best that it can possibly be, since it is the only life that any of us have; it still remains the opium of the oppressed, like Karl Marx opined. As for me, I don't see any wrong in charging an institution that does not provide people’s basic needs despite being built on people's sweats. They have schools but their members lack access to education. There's plenty enough money, yet they cannot push for childcare programs for members' wards. They should be regulated... |
BetaThings:Christians even ate Muslims raw at the time, I'm aware of that, as I'm Jos-based. It's the sort of insanity that accompanies crises of such humongous proportions. They were both mad, just, one had to prove to the other who the more insane person was. It's sickening! On the issue of Christian infighting, even twins do have their own differences occasionally. And like the true brothers that they are, they always settle their differences with no loss of lives, property, or risk to social security. My question to you is, why does anything that involves you people ends in bloodshed? |
alfarouq:You're really a very silly somebody! So, how many Fulanis were killed by the Southern Kaduna people that we didn't hear about? How did they harm them? By accommodating them, you mean. Look, Mr., not even your devil-inspired Saudi Arabia can help you claim Southern KD. What useless restraint have they been preaching? You blood thirsty animals never cease to amaze me! |
![]() Imagine these clowns. You propagate hate-filled version of Islam, encourage terrorism, and deny citizens lots of basic rights, yet, you point accusing fingers in the opposite direction. Talk about adding insult to injury! I wonder when these lost souls will find redemption. They've long lost their senses to religiosity, or they never had any to begin with. Religion is why the north may never be great! |
Emekamex:It is because the politicians are all in it for their own selfish gains. Non of them is concerned about true development. They keep the people in abject poverty so that even their own kids will rule over them. Nigeria entirely, ought to have been much better. |
Monalisa185:Lol. See you o. How cold I someone else when you are this much "my kind pesin"? All for you, no reservation, no holding back. ![]() |
kcnwaigbo:I'm a proponent of equitable distribution of wealth. Can't argue again this assertion even if I tried. |
kcnwaigbo:I understand your point. But I believe comments like yours will only spur them to carry out dastardly acts against the state whenever they sense a particular policy does not favor them. Such acts always lead to loss of countrymen -- which could have been avoided had they act within a lawful ambience. |
Stingman:With whatever it was they developed the other regions, as they claim. ![]() |
kcnwaigbo:Advocate of destruction, I hope you'll lead from the battle front and not front of your gadget! |
Sealeddeal:I thought you guys refer to them as slaves? How come slaves now get the larger share of the national cake? I'd rather engage in gainful slavery (whatever that means) than fruitless bravery. This means that they played their cards well, and it's paying off! |
Monalisa185:Amen, thank you! If standing makes it stronger, I will for your love. . Seasons greetings to you too, dear. Keep the light shining! ![]() |
Dam5reey:Which of the stores did you purchase yours from? I want to check out the Mi Note 2 |
nature2abdul:This is an age-old practice I believe the enemies are long aware of. However, too much publicity is bad for business! The NA needs to learn to keep some things off public eyes. |
Monalisa185:I've been following your comments on here. You're one of the few the country really needs to progress. God bless you real good! If you continue like this, you will leave me no option than fall in love. ![]() |
This is bad. Those people are heartless. It's unfortunate that the Christian elders won't stand up for their own and say enough is enough. Imagine if this was a Muslim community; the sultan and other emirs would have long condemned it sternly. This is getting out of hand. |
ArabMopol:You're too ignorant. How could you be so unaware of what's staring at you right in the face. They relocate to Lagos for access to a wider reach just like musicians from other southern states do. They don't relocate to the "South" like you insinuated; they do to Lagos, like musicians all over Nigeria do. There are more musicians who made it in the north without going to Lagos than there are those that did staying put in their southern states. |
Gaddafithe2nd:That's quite true. Most of those guys are well educated. I think Classiq's dad is either a professor or lecturer at ATBU Bauchi. It's a shame some Nigerians barely know anything about the country. All they do is stereotype. |
ercel:Gbam! |
EmekaBlue:Hahahahhaha. You're funny, man. They do sing good music. They just lack the necessary airplay. Nice one! One love! |
frank202012:Lol. You're funny though. But those guys do real real good music. They just don't have as much access to marketing as Lagos based acts do. To make it in naija, you have to go all the way down to Lagos. That's why a lot of these folks aren't known in some parts of the country. Try this. http://sweetnaijamusic.com/2016/08/d33-yaki-ft-dj-abba-kevin-words-b-o-c-madaki.html |
EmekaBlue:No, he meant real classy bars. Here, for your ears only. Listen and confess! http://sweetnaijamusic.com/2016/08/d33-yaki-ft-dj-abba-kevin-words-b-o-c-madaki.html |
LordZero:Whatever the case, I'm ashamed he could speak these words better than I. It's quite refreshing! |
Lol. Footballers' cribs make me salute Nigerian architects. All that money, yet the houses are just there. A $5m worth house in naija cannot look as bland as most houses up there. And some of these houses were designed by some of the world's most renowned architects. John Terry, Rooney, and Messi's look great though. Messi's in particular, is an architectural masterpiece. Drogba's house seems more like wasted millions. Their money, their choices. I'm glad for their successes all the same. |
So what will they protest against? Corruption scandal? Nonpayment of salaries and allowances? Or protest to get a democratically elected president out? Nigeria's problems are too numerous to mention. Plus, things aren't good right now, but embarking on a protest is a no no. This is the time when all hands should be on deck to pull the country out of recession. I feel that the president and his team have not done enough in this regard. But in a country like Nigeria, protests could turn to bloodshed. And as usual, lots of anguish will trail such incidents, leaving tongues wagging, and minds suspicious. Protests aren't bad, but timing is everything. |
Sealeddeal: biaframustcome:Your ignorance is legendary. Travel, nbanu. Receive sense, for where. Have you guys been programmed to be negative all your lives? Tufiakwa! Your people are the majority there. Should the government begin demolition so as to upgrade it to Abuja standard, it's those same lame fingers you'd use to scream (type) "blue murder!" Igbos are being targeted out of jealousy, bla bla bla. Nawao! |
All I see are pancakes! Hungry, someone? |
stinechykee:There's definitely something unique about some Igbos. But people like you are bland AF. Can't add value to your own family let alone your community. Put simply, you're useless AF! |
modsmustdie:I said credible thing. I didn't ask to list miscreants. ![]() Frustration kills. |
