Since they have yet to determine their fate, is it at all lawful to seize their cars and jewelleries? The EFCC comes hot on their heels and then go cold as interests grow in these cases. Makes people lose confidence in the system and doubt their ability to rein in on looters... especially as everything is now an invite. When will we hear about prosecutions? Abi the EFCC has become an event everyone is invited to? |
The government should ensure an enabling environment and it's sustainability to attract FDI. Infrastructure is what is mostly needed to move Nigeria forward. Refineries should be made viable or privatised altogether. More investments should be made in agriculture; mechanised farming should be pursued by government especially on lands abandoned by farmers for fear of Boko Haram attacks. An industrial estate should be created in all states to specialise in the production of commodities for which the raw materials are found within such states. Moribund industries like the textile ones(among others) in Kaduna should be revived and made fully functional and ensured that they operate optimally. The tax system should be reviewed to ensure transparent and effective tax regimes. Sports and other sectors of the economy should be made attractive enough to absorb the teeming youth population. Most importantly, incentives must be put in place to reward good behaviour and punish bad ones. |
Na so e suppose be. Politics without bitterness. |
philips70:Soon enough, e go better. As people are becoming increasingly aware of the rots in public places. Those police people seem irredeemably corrupt to me seeing how deeply-seated corruption is in their veins. To purge the police of corruption, it may require retiring about 90% of its men, both seniors and juniors. |
BE811APP:Very true. There's this custom neighbour of mine, you would pass his house and lavish spending for even Dangote's |
Fayose talks way too much for a governor. We understand that he must criticise, but him having to chip in on every other issue commonises his person. I hope he learns soon enough that he is demarketing himself even more than he thinks he's doing the president. It'd have been understandable if he were the opposition's spokesperson...at which he would have been even more terrible. |
Fear an inordinately ambitious ugly girl! . |
Spybradd:Hehehe. Gerrarahere, this mama peace's nephew. |
Spybradd:LOL. You mumu aswr! |
HungerBAD: me sef wonder o. |
. My lecturer taught me that whatever/whoever parades itself as "authentic" is actually a fake. |
dulaman:A little corruption in the system is good for the economy. Too much of everything is bad. You don't surround yourself only with morally upright persons; there are times when loyalty and commitment trumps all else. It is for such moments that Amaechi comes in handy (this is assuming that you think him as corrupt). The issue with the PDP was, corruption became commonplace during that GEJ regime. |

. Isn't it high time they walked the talk instead? All these photo sessions no be am! The Biafran agitation may not yield immediate results, but is at least yielding some desired positives, seeing as it has kept these people on their toes. The Nigerian government since time immemorial, attends only to threats and violence. |
2 face Idibia, always shining, Annie, always classy, Sound Sultan never stops smiling/laughing. Great people! |
... He's right in every sense of the word. Buhari has been playing the blame game ever since he took over, and it is becoming boring. Or was he not aware of the enormous task that awaits when he sought office? Had Nigeria been an eldorado, would we have had any need for him at all? One moment he's complaining about the poor state of the economy he inherited, the next, he's bitching about there being no money. It's irritating to say the least. |
Lord rest his soul! Jagaban, the mover and shaker of the immobile. This man defines everything Nigerian: tough, enduring and a conqueror! May you live long enough to watch Nigerians bow before you in gratitude. Thanks again, the Jagaban of Africa! |
I don't know your religion, but if Christianity, then you should be familiar with the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10). I'm not saying that Buhari is your equivalent of Christ, I just mean to say that you do not avoid someone on grounds of them being bad (bad is relative)...or to paraphrase, mixing with bad influence does not corrupt the incorruptible. If anything, this points to Buhari not being fickle, gullible or vulnerable. To mix with such corruption personified (in your words) and not be infected is praise worthy, don't you think? On a personal level, I'm certain that you have a couple badly behaved friends in real life. Do you avoid them? Have they influenced you yet? There's this saying in Hausa, "wasa da kaza, ba ta hana yanka"... they may be friends as you claim, but that won't stop him from prosecuting them if found wanting in any way. |
Good devt. Seriously though, Mr president should concentrate more efforts on ways to best get our economy out of the current woes, than on lamentations. Or was he not aware of the mess that has been made of the country whilst he sought office? This is time for consultation and formation of effective policies. Oil prices may be crashing, but the human resource remains, and in it lies our greatest comparative advantage. |
See how just an individual is giving a party, a duly registered one at that, sleepless nights. Lai, please have mercy, don't ruin their already bruised ego. |
It's simple. Those were the number of sim cards dropped the moment MTN stopped that 33k bonus awoof. For us Nigerians, an economic slow down doesn't reflect when it pertains to telephone and the related. How are we to feel it when most of us were born grinding at that tender age already? Pikin wey dem born and raise under heat conditions no dey miss AC. |
citizenisb:As if they can stand Russia's might! Gerrarahere jor! They just bit more than they can chew. This is assuming that it turns out to be true, of course. |

You identify good people by their deeds and seeds. Professor Dora has left an indelible footprint on the Sands of time. As though her groundbreaking achievements and international accolades weren't enough, she leaves us a package to continue championing the good cause...may you find peace wherever you may be right now ma'am. You'll remain in our hearts for your good works and wonderful personality! |

peterjero:Propose a better solution? Incentives guide the operation of businesses everywhere else in the world. Such disregard for institutions will not be condoned even in south Africa, their home country. They didn't follow simple directives and must be punished accordingly. Simple. There's a reason businesses operate within a space. |
Mogidi:Rather, you should engage more in some introspection. You'll be better paid channeling this strength into some gainful activity than throwing tantrums about like some spoilt fat kid who has been denied his cakes. |
Mogidi:It's quite unfortunate that you do not like the situation in which you presently find yourself, it's even more unfortunate that you cannot do much to change it. That your president is an expert in cattle rearing says a lot about your animalistic tendencies. It's no wonder you always sound like an unthinking goat that can't do much other than bleating. |
