Between her and Enelamah, I was indifferent who becomes the minister of finance. I believe that her experience in the role and success recorded at the state level tipped her above him in that regard. A round peg in a round hole if you asked me. She is a sound economist just as Mr Enelamah is. I'm impressed especially, by how he succinctly covered all the salient points of the economy during the screening process. |
The list isn't at all bad. Fashola trumps them all... I've always known that he's the closest thing to Baba's heart next only to Aisha and children. I thought that the minister of finance portfolio would create the most frenzy, little did I know Baba had other plans up his sleeves. Well deserved, Fash! For me though, the perfect list would have been: Amaechi: minister of Niger Delta. Kayode Fayemi: Foreign Affairs. Lai Mohammed: Information. But there's no such thing as perfection long as we flawed humans are concerned. |
Given finances and support, Nigerians will witness unprecedented change in especially power. Fashola doesn't do propaganda, he shows achievements. The man, for me, is Mr president's very right hand man, so there shouldn't be issues at all. |
Virtually everything relating to socioeconomic development revolves around energy. It's no good thing leaving it to selected individuals to dictate. The power sector is too important to not have a ministry whichever way you look at it. Regulatory commissions aren't the most effective when you need them to be. A case in point is the NCC. More so, those commissions do not command thesame respect as the ministry. Businesses tend to have more regard for the executive than they do for commissions in an economy as ours. The power sector may just Nigerians for granted as the telecom one. Besides, the president just announced Fashola as minister of power. |
This man has an opinion on almost every issue. Always itching to say something. It's no wonder he's made a clown of himself before the masses...arguably the most mocked "elder" on twitter today! Silence, they say, is gold! |
Phinity318:Lol. No, I'm not. I should know a thing or two about those being an economist myself. Thanks! |
"Peaceful" is a relative term. When "peaceful" protesters ground the activities of others, that's infringing on their rights. As such, the governor has a duty to protect law abiding citizens against "peaceful" abuses. |
Funny guy. They can do no such, not even one of those. An Igbo businessman who has as much money to venture into importation business hasn't enough time for himself let alone some moronic cause. Those miscreants do not make up even 5% of the Igbo population. What leverage have they over the good Igbo people to see to the attainment of such then? Jazz? As most good Igbo people here on and in real life have always said, it is the never do wells that are taking to the streets in protests. Any productive Igbo person knows the implications. They are doing more disservice to the well meaning Igbos than they think they are doing Nigeria. Giving good people a bad name for no just cause! |
Our leaders seem to not realise the heightened importance of incentives. It's no wonder the polity is as rowdy. Rewards and punishments ensure orderliness, increase job performances and discourage bad behaviour. We should never forget to reward those who have brought us honor for anything else in the world, regardless what! All that's required is to show a sense of acknowledgement. Some of these guys are much richer than however much prize the government will offer them. An act of gratitude goes a long way, really! |

Nice move, Your Excellency! They are all miscreants! Obasanjo is a soothsayer. |
It was surely going to make headlines someday. It's nothing to be ashamed of incarcerating someone for treason. In advanced countries, traitors are dealt with even more severely. Keeping him locked up for as long without trial isn't justified though. But what about law do I even know? The VP is a law professor. They must have explored all loopholes. |
Lol. Baba Fash will be one of the most trusted hands of Mr president. They seem to get along well, at least, going by the pics and travels. Wise men keep Fashola close, dumb ones discard/ask to discard of him. |
Men of valor! Obasanjo has been in the game for so long! Wonder how he manages to stay as relevant. So indispensable! He is to Nigeria, what Messi is to Barcelona. Man is evergreen as far as being important. Hate him at your own peril! I suppose top on the agenda is biafra. Obasanjo be like, "Buhari, guy, we need do a '67 on these guys...seems they have too low memory capacity to accommodate events of the past 40 odd years!" ![]() |
You know that you're on track when the whites are against you. The moment you cease being a puppet, the puppeteers wield their big axe against your a.rse! Those people won't understand that the Nigerian economy defies most economic principles in practice. If delisting is what it costs to shore up the naira, then so be it...after all, every big step taken in the right direction comes at a price! It will be suicidal to allow the naira to float at these perilous times given the economy is a dependent one. Those monger just love to control everyone and everything! They hate to see you progress, so they'll always seek ways to suppress you. If currency devaluation/depreciation is as good as they claim, why then, were they against China devaluing it's currency? No doubts that devaluation/depreciation is helpful, but timing is everything in these things. We may not be on equal footing economically, but if China must not devalue her currency, so too must Nigeria. After all, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, isn't it?! |
Firstly, you should approach her, bring up gist a couple of times and watch her reaction. Im guessing its just a lack of communication, maybe she isn't much of a talker. Nothing more. But if its affirmed that it's you she doesn't like, then get your bf to talk his brother into sacking her. Sack her! Your brother in law being a married man himself, should understand you guy's concerns. Do this, otherwise, she will dent your image before his family as she doesn't like you. And if your brother in law refuses, it will only mean that he has a thing for her hidden somewhere... No sane person will sacrifice family over some maid he isn't even sure where her loyalty lies. |
Opeedo:The guy is a badoo sha. I doubt even I could garner enough liver as to jail a neighbour, let alone, family. He's a rare breed indeed! Pray he lives up to his billing! |
. I just dey laugh. When will these people realise that you don't fight the government ni? So if after one week their terms aren't met, what's the worse that could happen? Burn up houses in the SE? Clowns in normal dresses! To the one proposing that they destroy properties belonging to Senators and all, that will only justify government's decision should they decide, to give a shoot at sight order at protesters...besides, I doubt those senators have much to lose as the protesters. Joke's on y'all! |

EUROBOMBER:We've all suffered losses, brother. I've lost more friends and known persons than I can count to Boko Haram and other crises. My dad's house got burnt, he lost everything and my mum almost got killed but for divine intervention. I don't know who tells you these stories, but I have lived those moments, still do... I was born and raised in the North, did my education there and all, so it's safe to say that I know the people inside out. Yes they are volatile (say 20% of them), vindictive and destructive (sometimes), but a whopping 80% of them, when you pray to God to meet the best people in your life, they are whom you pray to meet. Meet more Northerners and your perception of them will change forever. |
This is very disappointing! Your statements were careless, needless, shallow, thoughtless and reek of ignorance! I suppose that you're still some kid. By which means I'll keep this brief and plain. Again, you seem to not know these "Northerners" you so much despise. The Northerners are the most accommodating people you 'll find around. They are honest in their dealings, simple in acts and appearance, easy going, friendly and God fearing. They regard almost everything as the will of God, a gift from God or his doings. It's why they don't carry shoulder around the place regardless how stinkingly rich they are. They are humble like that. Now, if anything, the discovery of oil will only further glue their grips firmly in power. This is because the average Northerner is power drunk, loves respect and will go the distance just to get told 'rain ka shi dade!'. One single thing all rulers have in common is the quest to rule a larger entity; the larger, the better! That said, most Northerners will see the discovery of oil as a way to pay the SS back for their contribution. They love to pay their dues and are very loyal! Rather than secede, they will wish for the oil to contribute just as much money into national coffers as the South South one. They hate being mocked. The discovery of oil in the Chad basin will create the much needed balance in the polity. No Northerner will lose sleep over it, because they are enjoying the South South oil just as much they would if it were in their region. The South Southerners are the "meekest" Nigerians by the way! The Lord gives where he knows the people have large hearts enough to carry everyone along. |
Mogidi:Has your stupidity any limits at all? You pass for a tout in all sense of the word! I used to think that you were only being an opposition, little did I know you're suffering a terminal illness. Boy, it's obvious that you have no reputation to preseve, but please, I take your moronic tendencies beg you, cure yourself of this ignominy before it sees to your fall from even the little grace on which you stand! |
lygn19:Please don't bother engaging those lots. It's a waste of your good time. |
(Mark 3:25) a house divided against itself, cannot stand. These people should tread carefully, whatever decisions they make now will impact the future. Be careful not to make costly mistakes. Some could take you back late as the 18th century. I'm for demand equal rights and representation, than a separatist movement. |
Seems even MTN has more credibility than the Nigerian leadership. Our leaders are power drunk. They will rather they go down the drain than resign their "rightful inheritance" over any controversy, no matter how grave the allegations are. |
Nigeria has always had excellent players at the under 17 level. The issue has persistently been them making the transition into senior level footballing. They often make the wrong pick of clubs. Much can be done to help players' career choices especially given their 'age' and inexposure. He should choose arsenal. They are patient and an A team when it comes to nurturing talents. |
Clean pretty lady! Her dress is as okay as it should be. Besides, na her papa be pastor, not her. Stop tying people's choices and lifestyles to their parent's! |
