Rapmoney: There are things common sense should be able to prove to us. Our brains are powerful; we should think and act positively. This should show us why some countries are more advanced than others even with little or no resources. We should learn from the Japanese. Would you think that it was Bhudda that gave Japan technological advancement? The holiness of God is described as being above anything that humans can attain, such that no human can stand before Him as holy. Behaving more morally upright than most other people is not sufficient to escape the punishment of the God of the Bible.>>> Leviticus 11:45 'For I am the LORD, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, to be your God; thus you shall be holy for I AM HOLY.'" now, answer this question please. Why will man 'invent' a God that demands holiness inwardly and outwardly? Romans1:22-23 Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. I think this verse is the answer to the op. |

ITbomb: Brother we are not talking about mistakes or corrections. Cos we are still correcting mistakes till today that's why we have 4 churches in the same building, all correcting mistakes and establishing their doctrines.
When I give Bible instances, I give the full chapter and point out the verse of interest. Paul didn't correct their mistakes, they all agreed to take up the issues with the elders which shows that it was not just a little issue or lack of understanding, it was a belief and even Paul on his own did not have the authority to make them believe otherwise the bible say we should rightly divide the word of truth, this mean we should understand the author intention and understand the context and identified the author audience. in Romans 1:16 Paul preach to the jews. Paul complement Jesus. Jesus tried to pull Jews away from a superficial religion of works that could not save anyone and pointed them toward the Cross that He would bear as a Substitutionary payment for the sin. this is exactly what Paul preach. Paul continue to established the teaching of salvation on the cross as a gift from God which is base upon JESUS. |

ITbomb: The fundamental which most people tend to hinge their argument is Christ said He came only to the lost tribe of Israel Matt 15:24 but Paul maintained that the Gentiles have equal rights to grace
Peter was someone who followed Christ teachings word for word and was concerned about Jewish Christians first but the same Christ commanded him to go and attend to the gentile (which he was reluctant at first)
Read Acts 10 fully and especially vs 28, you will understand that Peter, the Rock on which Christ established His church, still considered himself "a Jew" first and had expected all followers of Christ to do the same and but not for Paul, probably, it would have been the same today after the ressurection of Christ , He appeared to His disciples and gave them this command : act 1:7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be MY WITNESS in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, AND TO THE END OF THE EARTH.” the disciples are to be His witness not only in Israel, but to the end of the earth, its include the Gentile nation. |

Christianity Etc › How To Discourage A Suffering Friend by malvisguy212(op): 6:42am On Jul 16, 2017 |
I’ve told suffering friends about how other people are passing through the same situation or even More, I've even given examples from scripture like " all things work together for good for those who love God" and many.
Surprisingly, my advice didn’t help at all. My words just added to their pain. when a friend is told, his circumstances isn't that bad and he or she needed to trust God, am I discouraging them from there situation or am I adding more pain to their sorrow ? saying to them " all things work together for good to those who love God" yes, you are right , but don't you think they have herd all that before ? as job say:
Job 16:2-5 “I HAVE HEARD ALL THIS BEFORE. What miserable comforters you are! Won’t you ever stop blowing hot air? What makes you keep on talking? I could say the same things if you were in my place. I could spout off criticism and shake my head at you. But if it were me, I would encourage you. I would try to take away your grief”
job wanted them to stop talking, stop blowing hot air, if they are in his situation, he could say the same thing to them. So how should we treat our suffering friends? What does being a friend to someone in need even look like? What should we say to our neighbors who are struggling? What should we say to our neighbors who are struggling?
From my experience, the most comforting thing we can do is to sit and say nothing. When Job’s friends first saw him, “ they sat with him on the ground, seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his suffering was very great ” (Job 2:13 ). Job’s friends should have finished the way they began.
listen to your suffering friends while they pour out there heart to you is more than words, they need you to listen to them while they cry, remember, there are no easy answer in times of grief and sufferings, we don't need to be savior to them they already have one so do we.
It’s hard to be compared to the seemingly perfect Christians in the world. Who appear to face every trial with smiles on their faces. Who never seem to get discouraged.
happy Sunday. |

James wrote how a believer can show, his faith is genuine ( justification or vindication before men) . James perspectives , he was viewing the believer who needed to demonstrate that his faith was real. @ Syncan you cannot address the hearthen as "dead faith" because faith was not their In the first place . when you address someone like this " your faith is dead without work" it means you are telling him to show the evidence of his faith. you are not condemning his faith. James wasn't condemning their faith , he was correcting their mistake. |

As if Nicodemus was not a Jew, yet was told he must be born of water and spirit. Jn.3:5. As if Peter was not talking to the Jews when he said, "...Repent and be baptized...save yourself from this generation" Acts.2:38-40. As if it wasn't to the Jews that the preaching of Jesus crucified was a stumbling block. 1Cor.1:23..
I'll rather you keep quiet and learn, ask questions where you don't understand, for clarity sake and not to seek to confound another, doing so; you will grow by God's grace. are the Jews unsaved ? see brother, you think you know what you are saying ? I wept for you. James wasn't saying their faith is dead, no, James is saying their faith is dead without work. are you a Christian ? can you show me the evidence, you're a Christian ? not by going to church, is by showing your good work, now this simply mean you are proven the evidence of your faith. this is the work that will not earn you salvation. |

harbjar: answers: before this, i see the same sickness in all of you who try to bring ut faults from the QUR'an so as to attck the 'weak muslims' and confuse them, i dont seem to understand why u people tend to quote the Quran halfway or try to pick a phrase from it and then try twist it into ur taste just as the way you ve interpolated the bible and torah so as to suite ur lame arguments... advice you to grab ur eye glasses, sit, read with open mindedness and learn.... 1. the chapter didnt start from verse '86' you know, id employ you to start from the beginning but for the purpose of this, for proper understanding; (83) And that was Our Proof which We gave Ibrahim (Abraham) against his people. We raise whom We will in degrees. Certainly your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing (84) And We bestowed upon him Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya'qub (Jacob), each of them We guided, and before him, We guided Nuh (Noah), and among his progeny Dawud (David), Sulaiman (Solomon), Ayyub (Job), Yusuf (Joseph), Musa (Moses), and Harun (Aaron). Thus do We reward Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers - see the footnote of V.9: 120).
(85) And Zakariya (Zachariya), and Yahya (John) and 'Îsa (Jesus) and Iliyas (Elias), each one of them was of the righteous. (86) And Isma'il (Ishmael) and Al-Yasa' (Elisha), and Yunus (Jonah) and Lut (Lot), and each one of them We preferred above the 'Alamin [mankind and jinn (of their times)]. (87) And also some of their fathers and their progeny and their brethren, We chose them, and We guided them to the Straight Path. (88) This is the Guidance of Allah with which He guides whomsoever He wills of His slaves. But if they had joined in worship others with Allah, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them. (89) They are those whom We gave the Book, Al-Hukm (understanding of the religious laws), and Prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein (the Book, Al-Hukm and Prophethood), then, indeed We have entrusted it to a people (such as the Companions of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) who are not disbelievers therein. why you started from verse 86, i dont know and u making sound like the qur'an said categorically that a book was given to ishmael (R.A) forgetting the fact that moses, jesus, abraham, david were mentioned in the verses above and these people were given books... but if you insist, then u can as well say all the 25prophets mentioned those verses were given books too which u know isnt true... you just took out a sentence from a whole statement and joined it with another another sentence and called it ONE.. HOW DUBIOUS,, all in because you want to defame or proof the QURAN is what
2 and 3. you should ve known that when Ishmael and his mum got to mecca, it was practically a dry land (desert) and no one lived there, it was after their arrival that people started coming to the land, prior to their arrival, there was nothing as arab... it should be noted that Ishmael was not an Arab but a jew cos that was his parents were and that was what he spoke, even the name ISHMAEL is a Jewish name and not arab... but over a long period time, through hi progeny in that same land, arab enveloped and from that same progeny was were muhammad (s.a.w) came from and after Ishmael.... no other prophet was sent to the land until the advent of prophet MUhammad (s.a.w) .... hope u ve learnt one or two things what ? Surah 6:86-89: And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot… These are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and command and prophethood. (Pickthall) did you say Ismael was not given a book ? this Quranic verse say otherwise, now, to which nation Ismael was sent to ? let me stop here for now. |
Islam › Muhammad, Descendant Of Ismael ? Who Build The Kabba ? by malvisguy212(op): 2:39pm On Jul 13, 2017 |
In order to determine whether Muhammad was a descendant of Ishmael or not, it is absolutely essential to consider four vital facts which the Qur’an reveals on this matter.
1. The Qur’an clearly testifies that no Messengers or Prophets were ever sent to the Arabs before the time of Muhammad: Surah 34:44: And We have not given them (Arabs) any Books (Scripture) which they read, NOR did We send to them before you a WARNER.
2. Yet at the same instance, the Qur’an testifies that Ishmael was both a Messenger and a Prophet of Allah: Surah 19:54: And remember Ishmael in the Book. Truly, he had been one who is sincere in his promise, and he had been a Messenger , a Prophet .
3. The Qur’an repeatedly testifies that the Arabs , the forefathers of Muhammad , never received any Scriptures of Allah before the time of Muhammad: Surah 62:2: He it is who has sent a Messenger among those who had NEVER BEFORE RECEIVED A SCRIPTURE to convey unto them His Messages.
4. On the other hand, the Qur’an clearly states that Ishmael was given the Scriptures of Allah: Surah 6:86-89: And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot… These are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and command and prophethood. (Pickthall)
before I continue, the Quran revealed that prior to the coming of Muhammad, ONLY two groups received the scripture, the Jews and Christians.( Surah 6:155-156 ) Therefore, the Scripture which the Qur’an claims that was given to Ishmael cannot be for the guidance of the Arabs .
Question: the Quran revealed that no Scriptures were given to the ancestors of Muhammad. Yet at the same at the same time the Quran say Ismael was a prophet and was given a book. logically, if prophet Ismael was the ancestor of Muhammad, it mean the Arab had already received the scripture before Muhammad arrived, this will be a Gross error. thus for the Quran to be true Ismael CANNOT be the ancestor of Muhammad. 2. the Quran say no prophet was sent to the Arab yet the Quran say Ismael was a prophet, the only way this verses will make sense is Ismael cannot be the ancestor of Muhammad. 3.No prophet were sent to the Arab, This simply means that the Prophet Abraham and the Prophet Ishmael could not have set foot in Arabia. Therefore, it is obvious that they could not have built the Ka’ba . |
