Politics / Re: Obama Still Has The Ascendancy Over Hillary! by Mamajama(m): 10:17pm On Mar 05, 2008
CHICAGO - Democratic Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday blamed his primary defeats in Ohio and Texas on rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's criticism and news coverage that he argued benefited her at his expense.

The presidential candidate said he planned to do more in the days ahead to raise doubts about his opponent's claims to foreign policy and other Washington experience. In a television ad that her campaign credits with helping her win, she portrayed herself as most prepared to handle an international crisis.

"What exactly is this foreign policy experience?" Obama asked mockingly. "Was she negotiating treaties? Was she handling crises? The answer is no."

Clinton, who was asked in TV interviews Wednesday about her national security qualifications, ticked off a series events in which she played a role, including peace talks in Northern Ireland, the Kosovo refugee crisis and standing up for women's rights in China. She also cited her work on the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Obama's campaign immediately delivered on his pledge to criticize Clinton. Aides distributed a memo and held a conference call to question why she won't release her tax returns. The Clinton campaign responded with a statement e-mailed to reporters while they were on the Obama call that said the Clintons' returns since they left the White House will be made public around April 15.

All this questions should have been the main point Obama camp used to counter attack Hillary. Why was she not declaring her tax return like every other presidential candidate did?

There were indications that if Clinton ends up been the nominee people will Abbott voting.

If Yar Adua was honest, he should have left RIBADU alone to nail the toothless shemeless dictator of our time

Typycal uneducated Hausas boys response that is used to spending daddys loot.  MR IBB JUNIOR BIGB! Name one thread where I’ve said one thing to tarnish OKIRO’s image.  Full do you know OKIROS 1st son is a good friend of mine here in Chitown?  You and your bickering about Ehindero is so stupid, was Ehindero ever indicted for wrong doing? Besides the pessimistic press posting that you can not digest?  Stay focus on the subject.  I can start pointing fingers why is the toothless general so silent now that Yar Adua is nailing all his friends like ODILI.  Why has the toothless general never admitted guilt for his dictatorship and he political killings?

@BIGB1 as an advocacy for good leadership as you project yourself. Let me ask you question is this a good display of character by MR MIKE OKIRO to challenge his men to die for another man? What makes Yar Adua special beside the title that he holds?

How do you compel or encourage people that you can not motivate to tackle crime to die for another person? Does he Yar ADUA single handedly increase the police pay or was it approved by the senate? Where did the initiation come from?

Inspector General of Police, Sir Mike Okiro, declared in Lagos, on Monday, that he was ready to die for President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. He urged his men to be prepared to die for the president and the nation.

Explaining why he was ready to make the supreme sacrifice, Okiro told over 500 officers at the Zone “2” Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos that Yar’Adua was a listening president, who had been granting every request of the police.
He said: “If someone pays you good wages and takes care of your welfare, you must be ready to die for that person. Now policemen should stop collecting N20 on the road because the president is doing his best for us and we must also be at our best

Politics / Re: Female ''thief thief'' Minister Arrested, Released, Fired, to be Re-arrested. by Mamajama(m): 5:11pm On Mar 03, 2008
This is what I hate about Nigerian journalism. Invited for questioning does not mean she was arrested.

If she was released and has not been charged to court for any wrong doing, why are some idiots on this forum publicly condemning her already? Why are some people so judgmental that because she is a Yoruba female she must be prone to stealing?

Gob bless Nigerians, we people are so quick to judge people without getting all the facts in the case.

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama won the Democrats Abroad global primary in results announced Thursday, giving him 11 straight victories in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The Illinois senator won the primary in which Democrats living in other countries voted by Internet, mail and in person, according to results released by the Democrats Abroad, an organization sanctioned by the national party.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has not won a nominating contest since Super Tuesday, more than two weeks ago.

More than 20,000 U.S. citizens living abroad voted in the primary, which ran from Feb. 5 to Feb. 12. Obama won about 65 percent of the vote, according to the results released Thursday.

Voters living in 164 countries cast votes online, while expatriates voted in person in more than 30 countries, at hotels in Australia and Costa Rica, at a pub in Ireland and at a Starbucks in Thailand. The results took about a week to tabulate as local committees around the globe gathered ballots.

"This really gives Americans an opportunity to participate," said Christine Schon Marques, the international chair of Democrats Abroad.

Politics / O’reilly’s “lynching Party” And Michelle Obama by Mamajama(m): 2:52am On Feb 21, 2008
How many incidents does it takes before we revolt against this bastard O'Reilly? what a pig.

In a discussion of recent comments made by Michelle Obama, Bill O'Reilly took a call from a listener who stated that, according to "a friend who had knowledge of her," Obama " 'is a very angry,' her word was 'militant woman.' " O'Reilly later stated: "I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that's how she really feels -- that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever -- then that's legit. We'll track it down."

It's not a "slip of the tongue," and it's not that he doesn't realize the use of the term "lynching" is racist and hateful and threatening and eliminationist just because he's an old, out-of-touch white guy. It's how he speaks to the lizard brain racism that still consumes the country in order to inspire a different kind of "unity." Bill-O goes all serious and responsible for context -- "wouldn't want to be presumptuous, must be cautious, wouldn't want to leap to conclusions, we'll track it down first" -- but he gets it in there.

That he throws it in there with sympathy for Bill Clinton really just pins the irony meter

Foreign Affairs / Mccain Links To Female Lobbyist Vicki Iseman by Mamajama(m): 1:54am On Feb 21, 2008
A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, in his offices and aboard a client’s corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself — instructing staff members to block the woman’s access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.

When news organizations reported that Mr. McCain had written letters to government regulators on behalf of the lobbyist’s clients, the former campaign associates said, some aides feared for a time that attention would fall on her involvement.

Mr. McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship. But to his advisers, even the appearance of a close bond with a lobbyist whose clients often had business before the Senate committee Mr. McCain led threatened the story of redemption and rectitude that defined his political identity

@ almondjoy

you are looking for immigration, healthcare, and social security?

What about job security? what about the housing crisis and the senseless war in Iraq? Those are the three topic i think we be a deciding factor and will benefit Obama tremendously against McCain.

Did you listen to his speech last night? the old guy was totally clueless with his barrage of attack on our Chitown young dynamic senator.
