Kamymich: Hello everyone!please o! A friend has an outstanding bill at the hosp she gave birth, she paid 3426$ instead of 3600 since last year, she intends paying up but the prob is ,if she will be allowed to at d POE,she said the hospital sent an email that the 75%discount as been reverted that she must pay up the 21k! she still have a valid visa dat expires in October and want to do a short trip of 2wks! Will she be let in? She also has d option of going to cancun in mexico den cross d boarder to the us and goto the hospital and see how to sort it out! She asked smone to pay when she left and the person didnt pay! God bless us all The Cancun route is probably gonna cause her headache later on. I might not be sure, but I figure a visa officer during renewal might be curious about why she went from Nigeria, to Mexico and then the US. Plus, with the current tensions between America and Mexico, crossing between both countries is very very hard and highly scrutinized! She should probably call the hospital and try to negotiate over the phone or fly direct into the US and hope for the best. |

eee777: hi anyone can tell why my friend was denied a visa. He was to attend a two weeks conference in the US. At the embassy the young dark in complexion lady asked what he is going to do in the US & he answered nicely and the lady stretched her hand asking him to bring out "invitation letter" . He brought out the conference stuff & the girl replied No this is not it. It was at this point he goofed up. He was denied visa. He called his brother in US & the guy said it is the print out doc written "product & pricing" carrying info such as conference date/venue, check in check out , hotel amount, conference duration. I want to know if this is truly the invitation stuff because his brother keeps arguing & angry since. Na truth me wan dig out so. Thanks Why is your "friend's" brother angry that they denied his brother conference visa? Shebi it's just conference. It's not life and death na. Nna nawa oo. It's not that serious, unless your friend was planning on using the "conference visa" to run away from Naija Tell you "friend" to come on NL and post his transcript. Supernaturalone: Have you tried Abuja? For emergency interview, you need to get a regular date first before you request for it to be fast tracked. There's no guarantee though. I might be wrong, but I don't think she qualifies for emergency Appointment. It states in their website that those that use the expedited appointment options are students applying for F1, urgent medical needs and a funeral or death |

Richards08: Hello house, My wife attended usa interview last week Thurs, 10 Aug 2017, she's issued d visa and told to come after 3 working days, when she got to the pick up centre, she was told that her application is under Administrative Processing. We did birth visa for her. Altho, she was issued visa around June but was deported at the Port of Entry on d ground that she hasnt paid d hospital bills, when she got to naija, we paid all d bills and reapplied. The interview was successful but the pick up is now the issue. Pls any Visa Officer around, do you think that my wife will still meet up the appointment? Besides, she's heavily pregnant and has just a few months left. How long do u think the AP would take? How can we hasten up their AP? As we speak, her flight ticket has been bought against 17 Aug.
Thanks brothers This is really sad. Have you tried tracking her passport on the CEAC (or something) website to see what's going on? It's kind of weird that she will be approved for a visa and sent to Admin Processing without any notification from them. Maybe they're trying to verify information. What POE did she try and enter the US from initially? And low Babatwi said, there's nothing you can do to hasten up the process. They are done when they are done. Could take 1 day, could take 3 months. When is she due? |

Olusegun26: I'm Male, 26, Lagos embassy. Single. US First timer..
Mind you, my accent was American (I've worked with them and have many as friends.. That's doesn't matter anyways but gives me load of confidence since we can both hear ourselves with no excuse me, ehn ehn, come again )..
1. Ignore those th*gs around.. Get the trio ready.. DS160 confirmation page, gtbank receipt and appointment confirmation. 2. I think it's more of academic, convince these guys and look them straight in their eyes... (dem no carry firewood ma). 3. Say wetin de your ds160 and be mentally prepared without contradicting yourself.
4. Be calm in spite of noise, side talks, be still and calm and concentrate.. Don't be drifted.
Special thanks to Seyewest.. Your bottle of wine awaits you, kindly claim your price.
I asked questions Here because I was confused while filling the form, he took his time to explain.
Let me chip this in... Fill your form yourself.
First timer, Don't worry if you made mistakes while filling your form prior to your appointment, refill and refill until you perfect it because your fingerprints sealed the last ds160 attached to your appointment permanently. Again, fear not(like me, I was scared to refill and refill)..
I'll share my poe experience next week.
Above all, pray to God, be shrewd and avoid legible misrepresentation which might cost you instantly. I wish you all the best. Congratulations. Your interview was on point I'd like to point something out tho. You mentioned speaking and sounding American That's funny, bro. Speaking American doesn't sound equate zilch. I bet you sounded 100% Nigerian with a clearer accent to the VO than American. People who's lived here over 20 years still get asked where they're from. So no, you don't sound American and the VOs can understand you perfectly without you putting yourself in the unnecessary wahala of sounding American |

biolarh: My questn goes thus: 1) The money dey use to give citizen every year, pls does dis applicable to mama's&baby in nigger dat d child is a citizen and aw much is d money which money do they give citizens? Nothing is free in America. No free money is given. I'm guessing you're talking about the yearly tax returns and if so, no...it's not free money. It's the taxes taken from your paycheck and your purchase every year. Depending on your financial situation, some people get money back and some people actually pay money back to the government. You're also not entitled to tax returns because you don't live or work in the US. If anybody says to give them your child's SSN for them to claim on their taxes and you get the money, that's tax fraud and if you're caught, both parties will be made to pay back the money gotten and may also face jail time. You're not supposed to have recourse to public funds on a B visa. |

fidelism: Your view on IELTS is misleading and erroneous. IELTS academic is the standard English test. Any school that requires English Language test usually list IELTS amongst others. Please don't tell me what I know or the system I have been in. A whole lot of American schools specifically request for TOEFL and while they do accept IELTS in lieu of TOEFL their main requirement is always TOEFL. Lately sef, a lot of them have been rejecting IELTS because the scoring band is way different and not easy to gauge or score. TOEFL is also administered by ETS, an American testing company that administers GRE General and subject tests. |
Education › Re: IELTS,GRE Or TOEFL, Which Is Better? by MamaOO: 7:36am On Jul 29, 2017 |
Those exams are for different purposes. You cannot compare them.
GRE(Graduate Record Exam): is for people who are applying into graduate school in the United States. This exam can only be taken for admission into Graduate School. Even Americans take it, and the GRE is of different types. The general GRE and the GRE subject tests. Sometimes schools will demand a combination of GRE and the TOEFL for international stations.
TOEFL(Test of English As a Foreign Language): is for international students, both undergraduate and graduate applicants into schools in the US.
Schools in the US rarely accept or ask for IELTS. IELTS: is used by counties like Canada, UK and Australia and it's used for both educational and also immigrational puposes.
TOEFL and GRE is not used for immigration all purposes. |

alabizzzz: @ justwise and all the people in the house , what do you have to say to my question based on your experience here?
If you miss the question then here is the question again, if the VO ask why are you going to america to give birth when you are in the UK.
What are the best response to give. thanks I know this might sound kind of silly of me. But i'll advise you say the truth. For the citizenship. You can't say for better healthcare because obviously you live in the UK and healthcare is pretty much the same here and over there. And I even feel saying anything other than that might anger the VO cos they might feel you're being shady and not telling the truth. They will appreciate the truth in your case. Let us know how it goes |

Yesitsme: mothers who plan EBF for 6months are always adviced to gradually food in bit in their babies mouth as early as 4months so that they can get the taste of other meals aside breastmilk. Since their tastebud is only use to breastmilk, it's difficult for them to eat when time is right....U have to be patient with her til she is able to eat. It's not easy but u have to I think it depends on the child. My son never had a taste of anything else except breastmilk until the day he was 6 months and now at 10months+ he has never rejected any food from me except fomular and yogurt. He eats adult Nigerian food like a champ (Amala, eba, rice, beans, egusi, ewedu and even spicy peppery food). Anything our mouth eats in my house, my son eats it, no complaints. You sef go fear if you see him eating |

enque: Your son is tall o
please explain the bolded statement. You don't bath everyday? Yes. My son's pediatrician also told me same. Don't give him a bath everyday. He was having cases of severe atopic dermatitis, baby acne, cough and cattarh. And it was also during the winter, it was extremely cold. She said babies don't get dirty and I was doing him more harm by stripping off his skin oils and aggravating his skin conditions (the hot/warm baths does that) Now that he's a bit old, I try to give him a bath in the morning or at night and in some few case...twice a day when he gets so hot (Our Summers are terribly hot). Some times, I just bath him every other day cos his atopic dermatitis is still on his ankles and I don't wanna risk any flare up again. |

Only one other thing I will add here. Based on what I see above, this is more than a family of four. That number appears to be the minimum as he says "she has other children". Not sure if he is referring to the lady or her mum.
If it is her mum, as long as they are not dependent on her, its fine. Did I insult or denigrate her in any manner?? Please point to where I did. |

Beautyaddy: Okay, I don't know where in my statement I am misleading anyone. How can someone not working and that means that she is depending on the government for some kind of income now petition an immigrant visa for anyone. I hope that you are aware that new immigrants into the U.S. cannot obtain or depend on the government for at least till after a year or two. Now like I stated earlier if his baby mama is earning some kind of income maybe through part time work even if her income is not enough to sponsor the person she's petitioning for a co-sponsor can help with the affidavit of support to allow the petition eventually approved. Google is your friend. I suggest you read extensively then come back and tell me what I know. Even if the babymama doesn't work. So far the co-sponsor works and makes the minimum required for sponsorship, then no problem. |

Which kain job you get wey you wan go America go take care of girlfriend and daughter? Which can category of visa is that one called? Nope. You have to marry her before she can file any immigrant petition for you |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by MamaOO: 6:29pm On Jul 11, 2017 |
Beautyaddy: Quick question, how old is this lady? She alone can file for you if she is 21 years of age and above. Also she needs to have some kind of income to sponsor you for any kind of immigrant visa. Being a dependent on her mom reduces the chances of the immigrant visa she's going to file for you being approved. This is a HUGE lie!! Please top misleading people, ha!! even if the wife is not working as long as his mother-in-law works and meets the income requirement (125% of the normal income requirements) and which in this case as a family of four is $30,750. She can sign the papers and act as the co-sponsor for his immigrant visa. The wife will fill out an Affidavit of support as the primary petitioner while the mother needs to fill out an Affidavit of Support as a Joint Sponsor. This does not in ANY WAY affect his chance of being approved for an immigrant visa AT ALL!!!. I have seen several people go this route and they have all gotten their Green Cards and subsequently US Citizenship after 3 years. |
