Someone mentioned Samsung here.. that person must be a pretty & sexy looking female cos Samsung's kinda built for women & not for gadget & techno freaks like me.. Siemens & Motorola are still manageable & no other manufacturer comes close to Sonyericsson or Nokia.. Samsung new D & E series, such as d500/600 & e720/730 are good though.. |
all you guys looking for free mp3 & using kazaa/limewire, go & buy the original CD, una wan ruin artists career? |
Thank goodness we have MTN staffs here that can help redeem their poor image.. MTN is not comparable to BMW in the area of quality so that's not a point. Glo's probably the best & most advanced as rated by NCC & i understand ur defence of the 0806 numbering approved by NCC. i use Vmobile & i'm happier with them.. what do u guys have to say about poor quality & overpriced recharge cards? what of credit hanging on system for weeks with excessive conjestions, coupled with rude customer service.. MTN is not my style cos they lied to Nigerians that per second was not possible till glo came to save our asses from them.. Vmobile didn't utter a word but beat MTN to per second billing implementation, not after MTN had finished collecting 100 naira unlawfully for switching to per second. We thank God for NCC o! |
you'll get that message to visit the html site if you use a web capable browser like on ur ipaq. i also get that prompt on my Sonyericsson k750i & p910i.. Not a big issue.. |
Still on k750i, this phone doesn't even need a connectivity software cos all operating systems i've tried detects it as a USB mass storage device, it comes in handy as a flash drive complete with cable in box. k750 is a basic java enabled phone comparable to Nokia 6230i which is its only competitor & the Sonyericsson whoops its ass in all areas with an extra activity botton that makes it multitasking. Sonyericsson has continued to release mindblowing models which Nokia has no answer to recently. They have the technology in Ericsson & innovation in Sony electronics... |
thanks DISKACE, most Nokia users don't know what they are missing.
i'll use examples like k750i to compare, 2MP camera with autofocus(still the best camera in any phone built till date), bluetooth vers 2.0 (still the highest version in any phone till date)
RDS radio (still the 1st in any phone), radio transmitter accessory which you plug into ur k750 & it transmits signal from phone music player to any radio within 10meters on a dedicated channel( allows 2 enjoy mp3 in phone on ur car stereo).
List goes on. |
if you need search engines for mp3, use 12mp3.com or ringspy.com for ringtones |
try imesh |
I'm also a gadget freak, and can tell you from experience that Sony Ericsson is better than Nokia in many ways. Sony Ericsson phones give you the best value for money with the best features overall. I have a [Sony Ericsson] k750 and p910 and have never come across any Nokia phone that can compete with them. The only area where Nokia whoops Sony's ass is the series 60 segment with Nokia N70 and 6680. |
so it was a bomb and not petroleum? well, the fumes affected my lungs and i'm thinking bout suing the Govt for negligence.. Do y'all think i stand a chance of winning? |
I'm down with Vmobile, no doubts... |
Denizzman, where did you get the info about MTN tariff being 75kobo/kb, and Mtel 65kobo? |
i guess your phone needs software flashing. try checking the sendo web homepage if you can perform an online software upgrade which would definitely solve the problem. if there's no online upgrade, guess it's time to take a trip to computer villa. |
the gprs is available but detached. there has to be an activation sequence such as sms to a particular number which i'm trying to work around. |
expired |
Drinking? Acceptable, but not to drunken stupor. Smoking? Hell no, I don't want to be liable to die young. Womanizing? All men do it, except Seun... |
I've been using the wapsite since it was launched and I must say it's really good. Keep up the nice job Seun.. I'm working on my own cross-browser/wapsite and will post the link when I'm done.. It's going to have all the useful links for mobiles, including messenger, all emails, tools, java, symbian apps, Nija local music videos, mp3, wav, midi and hi-fi ringtones plus much more... |
Owen:Yes they do.. I've called up their customer care several times and they keep saying it's only available on pistpaid and not on prepaid. I have their SIM card and I'm still trying to work around the settings window to see if I can crack the settings code.. I achieved this on glo, Vmobile, MTN way before they announced the service... |
I stopped using MTN since last year and I'm very happy that I've saved a lot of money by switching to Vmobile... I'm on the Vstep prepaid plan and my call rate starts from 70kobo/second and reduces gradually to 48kobo/second within a month without the use of boostercards... Comparing the savings I make here to the flat tariff of 80kobo/second that MTN charges, I've figured out that I make savings close to 40%, amounting to 3k/month plus additional 12 free SMS to any network/month, free calls to customer service, better service and recharge cards don't cost more than the authorized price, it's even sold lesser than the authorized price.. I wonder what you guys are still doing on the MTN network where you buy a recharge card that's suppose to be sold for 400naira at an outrageous 450naira, that's a good enough reason to ditch them, when I can buy Vmobile 500naira recharge card for 480naira... The Vmobile network now has gprs and it's blazing fast, It is stable and is even present in states like Ondo state which MTN gprs hasn't even dreamt of covering yet. The questions I'll like to ask MTN are as follows... What is the reason behind the release of 0806 when the 0803 network hasn't been exhausted? I feel this is a cooked up strategy to confuse subscribers that they are far far ahead of other Networks because I really don't see the reason when their subscriber base is still far below 10million.. Subtracting 08030000000 from 08039999999 gives you approximately 10million lines of which 70% hasn't been exhausted.. Why do they have to produce substandard recharge cards that aren't scratch friendly? I've come across so many people that scratch their recharge cards and end up scratching off the PIN,thereby loosing their money to MTN without refund.. Here's a picture of a badly scratched card from www.phonerism.com ... https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/diakim/MTNScratch-Card.jpg Why do I have to pay 450naira for 400 card, and 800naira for 750 recharge card? This is rubbish.. Most times, you load recharge cards and your money reflects 2 weeks after loading.. This happened to me so many times when I was still using MTN, I even wasted my money calling MTN 180 customer care to complain about their mistake.. I've never noticed this on Vmobile, besides if it happens, I can always call their customer care for free to make complaints. Why do they have to be forced to give freebies by other networks? I've never heard of MTN giving anything without being pushed by other operators, most especially globacom.. I'm not trying to brainwash anybody, and neither do I work for Vmobile, this is just my honest opinion since I'm a techno guy and have 2 SIMS each from each of the four different GSM operators which I use regularly for review purposes... To sum it all up, MTN NIgeria is not a failure but will have to do more and struggle to win me back to its Network |

Cushman, thanks for the info.. I actually made sure I utilized all the free 45 SMS offered by Vmobile... ![]() I still have 6 left for the rest of the month, NICE NETWORK.. probably the best.. |
who has the Mtel settings should post it. |
how much do they charge for this service, or is it free? |
IMO, i think Vmobile is the fastest, glo is the most reliable & MTN has the slowest & most generous offer. i know y'all will ask what i mean by MTN having the generous offer.. their gprs is full internet, which means you can connect & browse with your computer, palm or laptop & 3rd party applications such as chatting softwares, browsers & email clients on your phone are functional. i've used all 3 & glo's the best, followed by Vmobile then MTN. |
It's been long since I used glo gprs so I'm not quite familiar with their service any more.. I think all you have to do to register your line for wap is to send the SMS "activate" to 927 and wait for the settings.. once the settings arrive, you have to reboot your phone in order to be able to use it.. I hope this helps? For those using Sonyericsson phones, if you see a full blue triangle above your signal bar then the service is active and ready for use.. For those using Nokia or Sendo phones, if you see a "G" sign on your screen, then the service is active.. For those using Sagem phones, if you see the sign "GPRS" boldly written and not blinking on your phone, then the service is active.. For those using Siemens phones, if you see a GPRS sign looking like this :GPRS: with the colon on both sides, then the service is active Any other sign different from above means they havn't provisioned your line or GPRS is not available in your location.. Some people are living in villages which havn't been covered by GPRS and are complaining... if you are residing in such a village, you might have to move closer to the metropolis to get a connection... |
all you guys could be sued for leaking this info.. the stuff is not yet officially announced and ur all broadcasting the config. anyway sha, i've been using it for sometime and it's not full internet but wap only.. enjoy sha!! |
Well, my name is Segun, I love girls like mad, might be stubborn @ times but aint wicked.. |
dbosa, are you on postpaid? I don't think you can use messenger on prepaid... |
