PhonesRe: MTN's Nigeria's Lead in the Telecom Sector by mamba(m): 11:56am On Jul 23, 2005
That % might have reduced well enough cos a lot of people have been dropping their MTN lines for glo & Vmobile, e.g. Me, my sister and my brother have dropped MTN for glo/Vmobile so the % is not correct my brother...

MTN's lead will continue to drop as other operators are having wider coverage, remember MTN's point of sale is their wider coverage which Vmobile and glo are improving on @ a fast pace...
PhonesRe: The "Killer GSM Phone Number" Rumor (July 2004, Nigeria) by mamba(m): 9:50am On Jul 23, 2005
Hot-angel, you better thank your God that you didn't get used for pepper soup.
This is Nija where so many people are desperate to make money and would do anything to get political power. These things happen and they are real, there are lots of babalawos in Nija and many desperate people use fetish means to achieve their aims so beware!

There are many shrines, cults, brotherhood and the likes allover Nija so I aint disputing the killer GSM rumour, it might just be true...

I know someone in USA that was remote controlled or bluetoothed grin from Nija tru fetish means... better believe!

PhonesRe: All-Night Talk (on Phone) by mamba(m): 12:50am On Jul 23, 2005
There are some fixed lines and CDMA networks in Nigeria that offer free calls off peak and weekends. There's one (Peace Talk) that allows you to call people within your estate for free anytime.

I know Starcomms and some others offer free off-peak & weekend calls within network.

PhonesRe: MTN Voucher Validity and Access Days Increased! by mamba(m): 10:25pm On Jul 22, 2005
What's the use increasing the validity when you can't even check your access days with MTN for free.

on glo, you dial #124# for free
on Vmobile it's *124# for free
on Mtel it's 175 for free

but on MTN it's what? 556, doesn't work & also charged at a certain rate...

Boyz in yellow!!!!!!!

PhonesRe: Anyone using Glo Direct Internet services? by mamba(m): 9:51pm On Jul 22, 2005
glodirect offers you gprs internet which means you can browse web on your phone, use 3rd party applications to access the web, use e-mail client on your phone, use your phone as a gprs modem to browse web on your laptop or desktop @ 35kobo/kb peak and 20kobo/kb off peak.

It's as fast as the normal GLO GPRS but you have to sign a contract to use it.

The only thing I enjoyed during the short time I spent there after camp was the chicks grin If you're a male corper, I'm sure you must have enjoyed that aspect of NYSC grin
