General Dambazau revealed that the recruitment initiative was part of efforts by the federal government to ensure that the Nigerian Prisons Service met the minimum United Nations’ standard for the rehabilitation of prisoners. Describing the inability of prisoners to appear in court to defend themselves as a major challenge in the administration of justice, the minister revealed that the ministry has procured vehicles to convey prisoners to court, adding that, the federal government was already working out modalities to have courts established near prisons so as to save the cost of transporting those being remanded in prisons to courts to enable them answer to the charges against them. https://leadership.ng/2018/07/20/fg-to-recruit-6000-prisons-officers-dambazau/ |

The World Bank and the federal government will be unveiling a $200 million livestock production development project in 2019 to interested states in the country. An official from the federal ministry of agriculture , Victor Egban, stated this while on courtesy visit to Kebbi State governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in Birnin Kebbi yesterday. Following the announcement of former National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, as the Director-General of the Presidential Support Committee of Buhari 2019, several members of the opposition parties have concluded plans to decamp to the All Progressive Congress (APC). The National Secretary of the groups that formed the committee, Hon. Kassim Muhammad Kassim disclosed this yesterday in a statement after a courtesy visit he paid to Sheriff upon his return from Germany. Kassim, a lawmaker from Nassarawa state, said the group had pleaded with Sheriff to disregard the statements from the presidency about his appointment as this was borne out of a misunderstanding on the part of the presidency. He said, “The over 300 registered Buhari Support Groups that formed the committee have confidence in him (Sheriff). Also, there are some oppositions that have expressed their desires to also decamp to the APC with just the name Ali Modu Sheriff as the leader of the committee. We believe with his capacity and experience, the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari come 2019 is already a done deal.” https://leadership.ng/2018/07/19/opposition-members-ready-to-join-apc-after-sheriffs-appointment/ Oam4j mynd44 lalasticlala |
Even Kwankwaso knows that....... Buhari is too strong to beat in kano... |
The senator representing Kano South senatorial district, Kabiru Gaya, has hinted that ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would not support the emergence of any presidential candidate in 2019 from Kano State apart from President Muhammadu Buhari. Senator Gaya said this in response to a question that sought to know what the stakeholders in Kano State were doing to stop former governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from leaving the APC. The senator responded to questions from journalists on Wednesday shortly after his inauguration as the chairman of the panel to conduct ward, local government area (LGA) and state congresses in Imo State. “In politics, we try to accommodate as much people as possible. We don't leave room for any member to leave. If one member leaves, it is a loss because you can win election with one vote. “So we're doing our utmost best to work together as a team. But if the interest of the person staying with us wants to run as a president, there’s no vacancy for that. Our vacancy is PMB. “But if he's coming to run for something else, he's welcome. We don't want to eliminate anybody. But we do not want to have any presidential candidate from Kano State,” said Gaya Asked whether he was a member of the contentious rAPC and his take on the group, the federal lawmaker said, “I can't be here if I'm on the other side. I am on the main party. “Even those who are in that place, they'll soon come back. Maybe most of them will come back because we are seeing more progress than those who defected. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/kwankwaso-can-t-contest-presidency-with-buhari-in-kano-sen-gaya-261606.html Lalasticlala oam4j mynd44 |
