THE Federal Government has approved the refund of N37.95billion to the Anambra government out of N43billion owed the state for the repair and rehabilitation of federal roads and other intervention funds on federal government projects in the state. The Senator representing Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh, who dropped the hint at Isu-Aniocha in Awka North local government area of the state during the inauguration of Senator Victor Umeh Support Group in the area, commended the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano for rehabilitating the roads, having realized that the roads would serve the people of the state. According to the senator, there was every assurance that the federal government would soon refund the money and subsequently the remaining amount expended by the state government. He observed that the massive and progressive infrastructuraldevelopment in Anambra by the Obiano administration through collaboration of the concerned federal ministries and agencies in the state had helped to improve infrastructuraldevelopment in all parts of Anambra State. Umeh also assured the people of the senatorial zone that most of the communities in the zone would benefit from projects he succeeded in putting into this year’s budget, explaining further that his major purpose of going to the senate was to contribute his quota by helping the state get its share of federal projects. He said that the level of work on federal projects ongoing in Anambra State was a turnaround from what obtained before the inception of Governor Willie Obiano’s administration in March 17, 2013 and appreciated the cordial relationship between the federal and the state governments. He also spoke on the outcome of the election tribunal judgment that affirmed his victory in last year’s rerun election, adding that it would spur him to work harder for the people of the state in the senate. The victory, he added, was also a confirmation that the Anambra Central Senatorial District and the entire state were for the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, adding that it was because of the solid followership of the APGA by people who made the opposition to resort to undue propaganda. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/07/federal-govt-approves-refund-of-n37-95b-to-anambra/ Mynd44 lalasticlala oam4j |

Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi has commended the Federal Government for recruiting 7,425 unemployed graduates from the state into the second batch of the N-Power programme. Bello, in a statement in Lokoja on Tuesday, said that the programme had given hope to the beneficiaries who were selected on merit from the 21 local government councils of the state. According to him, the recruitment of the unemployed graduates into the scheme was timely and a relief to the beneficiaries as many of them had been jobless for years. Those selected were mostly from indigent background, the governor said in the statement signed by Adoga Ibrahim, the Coordinator of the N-Power programme in the state. Bello also commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for the introduction of the N-Power scheme under which beneficiaries are entitled to a N30,000 stipend per month. He re-affirmed the support of the people and government of Kogi State for the president. “ We will work to strengthen the effort of the President Buhari led-administration by ensuring that the beneficiaries are deployed to critical areas that will impact on the development of the state,” Bello was quoted as saying. He urged the beneficiaries to give their best services to the nation and refrain from any form of misconduct.(NAN) https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/n-power-bello-commends-fg-for-recruiting-7-425-kogi-indigenes-263475.html Lalasticlala oam4j mynd44 |

Former Deputy Governor Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Kingsley Moghalu said he is looking forward to President Buhari’s congratulatory call to him as President-elect in 2019. Professor Moghalu made the pronouncement on the heels of his Presidential ambition in 2019, saying that, there have been thousands of preventable job losses across the country in the past three years. The former CBN Deputy Governor blamed the sad situation to bad economic policies by the Buhari led administration. He shared his thoughts at a town hall meeting in Kaduna at the weekend, where he said he has all it takes to fix Nigeria. While blaming the present administration over the deteriorating insecurity of lives and property across the country, the Professor assured that things will be a lot better with him on the saddle. He noted that security of lives and property remains a constitutional task of government, saying that, President Muhammadu has failed on the assignment. He however promised improved health care for all Nigerians if elected President in 2019, faulting the nation’s health care as he assured that he has a team that can deliver an effective Primary Health Care programme.http://thenationonlineng.net/buhari-president-elect-2019-moghalu/ Mynd44 lalasticlala oam4j |

The huge sums of money invested to upgrade the once restive Niger Delta region from 2009 to date has yielded very little impact as no tangible projects, aside some recently commissioned cassava processing plants, have been completed. LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered that out of the N750 billion allocated to the ministry within the period under review for the execution of over 427 contracts, only a measly 12 percent impact has been achieved, indicating that the released funds were not well utilised. This is aside the counterpart funds accessed from the European Union (EU) and other international bodies. Our findings shockingly revealed that while 18 percent of the contracts were stalled, only 12 percent were completed, leaving 70 percent uncompleted. Meanwhile, the minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru, told LEADERSHIP Sunday that he inherited liabilities worth N34 billion when he assumed office, and that about N1 trillion is required to complete ongoing projects. LEADERSHIP Sunday learnt that a technical audit exercise ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari to access the level of intervention projects in the region revealed that most of the projects remained at the level of contract awards and practically did nothing to address the yearnings of the people in the region, contrary to the mandate of the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry. The over 427 intervention projects were meant for the nine oil producing states of Abia, Akwa, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ondo, Edo, Imo, Rivers. According to the distribution of capital projects, contracts were awarded for canalisation, electricity, food and cassava processing plants, housing schemes, land reclamation/shoreline protection, rehabilitation/remediation of oil-impacted sites, roads, skill acquisition centres and water schemes. LEADERSHIP Sunday recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered a technical audit of the over 400 projects that were awarded between 2009 to 2015 by the ministry. The audit is to ensure that there is value for the over N450 billion so far released for the projects in the nine oil producing states. https://leadership.ng/2018/07/29/n-delta-ministry-spends-n750bn-on-projects-with-only-12-completion/ Mynd44 lalasticlala oam4j |
