Manonamission:So market peaked on Monday instead. Market can not be timed Better to jump in at the onset of a bull ride. If I miss it, I'll wait till the next cycle. I would rather sit on my cash than lose it. Lesson learnt after recovery. |
Market should peak today. If that happens, bears will have tomorrow. #Markettiming |
TA analysts in the house.....what do you think? Tuesday, Sept 1: 30,225.34 (Peak) Thursday, Sept 3 : 29,383.77 (Bottom) Tuesday, Sept 8 : 30,358.87 (Peak) Thursday, Sept 10: 29,403.12 (Bottom) Tuesday, Sept 15: 30, Bleep.xx (Peak) Thursday, Sept 17: 29, Bleep.xx (Bottom) Note that this trend can be disrupted anytime. Positive or negative news inflow might disrupt or confirm this. Interesting to note that Fed meeting ends on 17th. Just take note. It is dangerous to rely on only one type of analysis, be it Tech Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, Sentiments Analysis, Tumbum Tumbum Analysis, Spiritual/Prophetic Analysis etc ![]() |
ogoo4real:You simply check your stock balance. If there is no increment, do not panic. Do you have other stock broking account? It might have been credited to your other account. This happens when your CHN associated Morgan capital was opened by a previous broker. The previous broker account becomes the default account with CSCS. You can contact CSCS to change this. Modified: On the main itrade window, left column, under "portfolio", click "monitor", click "Go" at the centre of your screen (If this is the help you need) |
MoxyzFM:You are right. Mine has been credited too. |
manie:I think you will get it cheaper next week. Not yet convinced of the market direction. I still expect the market to be depressed next week. Lots of headwinds. |
Manonamission:When you see this drink at a store near you, remember your investment in Transcorp and quench your thirst ![]() |
Exchanges all over the world, when there is a negative announcement, big money exits. We can try to act and think patriotic but fund managers, foreign investors and other big money won't. They have a duty to preserve or conserve investments if they can not grow it. The market reaction is an aggregation of, not the number of investors but of funds. If the foreign investors and fund managers that control the market sees the JP Morgan's announcement as a red flag, please what do you expect? They would rather listen to the likes of JP Morgan than CBN's rebuttal. The effect would only be tempered if "patriotic" domestic investors control an appreciable percentage of our stock market or if an appropriate practical step is taken (example is what happened in China). If you are for short term, you should articulate your goals and take actions that reflect those goals. Take cognizance of news of this kind. Is it not the same news (cabinet announcement and policy statements) though positive that some are waiting on to herald another bull run? Not saying there would be a bull run after the much awaited cabinet appointments though. So a positive news is to a bull what a negative news is to a bear. Na small money no dey bother about the outcomes of meetings of MPC, Federal reserve and any other policy maker. I am on alert. I have a target for this year abeg. By God's grace, I'll get there. ![]() For long termers, a saner way to invest, hold your peace. ![]() No vex for my emphasis o, returned home early and took a nap. To sleep for night dey hard when that happens. ![]() |
I learnt the term JIJO on this thread. I was also made to realise that to be successful in the world of JIJO, you would have to be stone cold, brute and emotionless. You don't give a heck about a company stock, viz a viz it's directors, products or services. All that matters to a JIJO adherent is profiting from the price fluctuation of stocks on the exchange. Prior to this, I was a traditional investor. I study and analyze companies, follow news about them, buy their products, make use of their services just because I feel I am a part owner of the company. I am still very much a traditional investor but I now have a seperate portfolio for JIJO. What I do not understand here is the ado about JP Morgan's delisting. Everyone suddenly becomes a patriotic Nigerian, even the JIJO group. Long term investors like @Manie should not be worried for any reason so long the listed companies keep declaring profits and rewarding their shareholders. Abeg, make I ask, wetin concern you JIJO expert for this kain mata? Should I assume these barrage of posts on the delisiting is in a Nigerian citizen context or as JIJO investors? Could it possibly be self consolation for being caught up against one's wish? Why would a JIJO investor get worked up and see a need to vehemently defend his pick/stock? (That's an easy one for me.......it has to be emotion). Well, whatever it is........you have to decide where you stand. Do you want to go the Traditional investor way or the JIJO way? If you are inclined to chose the later, pinch yourself and get back to reality. This mata e, e no konsign u. As Yoruba folks say, "E ma je ki ose yi yin" (no allow soap touch you) ![]() For the newbies, be careful of popular opinions on this thread. The majority might not always be right. I don't agree with the pessimistic stance of Peterichy and Chibuking1 but I value their posts and take notes. In fact, I am more wary of the optimistic projections popular on this thread. Please note that, I don't intend to validate/confirm their opinions. Sorry for the long post. #NSEMPAthreatre #NSEMPAWOOD ![]() |
Please send your mandates by email to Morgan capital. info@morgancapitalgroup.com copy pelumio@morgancappitalgroup.com This was what I did yesterday. Goodluck guys but try not to panic too much o |
davide470:It is in line with my own expectation. I am stepping aside as I posted earlier. Let's see what the next few trading days will present. Another opportunity beckons. |
First batch exit from UBA at N4.31. Second batch should be out tomorrow, hopefully at a slightly higher price. I need to inhale some fresh air and watch the market for a few days. Tasere units of Oando and Skye will remain. I expect the market to dip for most days of the coming week. I would also not be surprised if the market does not respond to Mr President's list but remains flattish. It won't come as a surprise too if I am wrong, that's the essence of watching. |
FannySwindler:Your head is correct (orie pe) You must have been refreshing like ....... But try make you no dey get nasty at all at all. That kind of life is better left in one's past. ![]() |
feelamong: I could sense the anxiety in her post too. Make them no they confuse us abeg. Corporate action should be used for dividends and bonus issues only. This one should be called press release. na joke o |
FBNH creeping up gradually. Seen at N6.98. UBA losing steam. |
mercylicious:LOL. It's not dividend o. Just board/management changes. I guess you have the info already sef, as per say nah your industry. |
ihedioramma:But you have been on this research for like forever. Decide and get on board. Go online and register with Morgan or Meristem. You don't have to use a broker with an office in your state. Scared of your next question already ![]() |
jarkbauer:Don't use Forte Oil as example o. It's not a stock that can be properly analyzed. The price behaviour is far from the norm. But please review the results posted by Zenith and UBA for previous years objectively and then you will realise the basis of my assertion. Of course, EPS is not the only metric used to value a stock but it's the reference used in one of the posts I quoted. Just my opinion. |
bigass: manie:I can imagine a Zenith bank board member responding " Not anytime soon" ![]() But seriously, it's not impossible. However, even at N2 EPS, UBA still wouldn't trade at par. For the past 3 or 4 years, Zenith bank has been reporting EPS exceeding N2. In fact, above N3 in the past 3 years. Within this period, UBA didn't come close. UBA would have to prove to the market, that it can reproduce even better results year in, year out. Consistency is required from UBA before the bank can be repriced accordingly......and yes, they need to raise their game in terms of shareholder reward too. |
ihedioramma:Oh my! I hope you won't kill sombori. Please quit researching stockbrokers and registrars. Research stocks instead. ![]() One love ![]() |
ihedioramma:I don't keep/trade either so the need for more does not arise You need an Etisalat endorsement walahi but for street comedy. Your street name should be "Drunken master". You need some packaging before you can venture into corporate comedy. Wait o! You go blow for corporate too. You remind me of Clint the drunk. ![]() Just teasing.........I know you are the NSEMPA pastor. ![]() |
Ihedioramma, do you really have a portfolio? I mean do you trade stocks or stock fish? ![]() Your mata no understand me again. ![]() |
DONLEKAN:Please let your heart and HEAD guide you o, not my choice. Na only you waka come o That said, SKYE/UBA/ACCESS (in that order) were the only stocks that appealed to me before this bull run. Prices have since chanced. Riding the bull in UBA at the moment with proceeds of SKYE (that was the mother of loots ). Still would like to play SKYE again when the price is right. You just have to discover its new support. I don't agree stocks will go back to former lows (N1.71 for SKye). Also made some profits with FCMB and Fidelity, though marginal.Summary: All indicators on my spread sheet are green for those 3. Entry prices matter sha. Wait for right price o. Don't be desperate to jump in. |
DONLEKAN:Choi!!! Oando is for extreme JIJO o. The more you look the less you see. So much volatility hence profit/loss too. We need an "Oando expert" to break down that result. But I want you to understand that Oando has about the most complex company structure ever known on the NSE. Loss in OER doesn't NECESSARILY translate to loss in Oando. Oando provides funds at an interest for the capex of OER. OER is the upstream subsidiary of Oando that just acquired COP assets. It's listed on the Toronto stock exchange but Oando raised virtually all the capital involved (OER could as well have been the vehicle used). Did you notice net loss position at H1'14? Oando declared substantial profit and even paid interim at H1'14. The net loss position has improved from c. -177m USD to c. -50m USD even with improved revenues. I am inclined to think, Oando will fair better based on this. Like I mentioned earlier, this is my very own own very personal personal personally basis for taking the Oando risk . My TT analysis as some would call it. All I am interested in, is making money from trading this stock.I suggest you look at the banking sector instead. It's a safer bet for you. In fact, there are so many stocks out there that will give you appreciable profits from trading them before the year runs out. Most stocks recovered some lost grounds lately. Virtually everyone registered significant profits. ![]() |
Now that UBA is gone.........My picks for the September/October are SKYE and Oando. SYKE: 1. The positive effect of the merger will be further consolidated in Q3. 2. It has one of the best BVPS relative to price in the sector (check other metrics too) 3. The management seem to be hell bent on raising equity, hence the MM (FBN securities) will keep driving trades with corresponding price increase to target levels. Oando: 1. FY end 2014 is expected this month with an accompanying corporate action. 2. Q1, Q2'2015 is expected to be released simultaneously. I expect margins Y on Y, to have improved due to the significant debts pay back from the crude price hedge reset done, equity raised and proceeds of fractional divestment of a downstream arm. Cons: Keep in mind these dates in September 1. September 16-17 (US Feds meeting) 2. September 21-22 (MPC) 3. September 11 (9'11 anniversary) 4. Keep tab on industry news for Oando. Outcome of these meetings, anniversary and news may temper or aid any profit projections. These are personal postulations which will guide my investment in the coming months or better still, will be the basis of my investment risks. |
angelo82:Why respond in Q3 when you can always wait till FY end? Also, FBNH will have to audit Q3 result before any corporate action can be declared. Do you think management will audit Q2, Q3 and FY end just to flex muscle? Let's wait till year end nah........then expect FBNH to flex. Then the likes of Access and UBA would only be able to do so much after the interim declared. |
What of those waiting at different junctions of Bear avenue? |
veecovee:LOL......You seem to be more interested in the meeting than in the outcome of the meeting. Just wait for the announcement afterwards nah except you want to attend sha ![]() |
Aks:Bros, I am still waiting o. ![]() |
This might just be profit taking. I don't see the market crashing back to previous lows, at least, not yet. Dumping my Skye loot on UBA sha. |
