WhatDoYouMean:Besides is it written on those certificates that they got it online? Stewpid fools |
My Brother, that is the factual reality of life....... A simple phone call to Ministry of Aviation in Abuja would have sorted this out........but I guess the airport staffers were afraid to attempt the call(nobody wants to be tagged disloyal), so they took the safe path of simply denying her.... dicefrost: |
Bros, You think this is Disney Junior? ![]() major466: |
Bros, 1. Except you're new to NL, the trend is that stewpiiiidd and depraved, empty brained folks are substantial in numbers and constitute the early posters on threads. 2. Even if the reporter is either dumb or mischievious not to have spotted the disconnect in the body of his write-up and the title, trust NLers to stretch the limit of stupidity, by either not reading nor comprehending 3. I believe we got ourselves into the diplomatic barriers we are unfortunately experiencing. My grouse with PMB here is the tacit avoidance of responsibility is saying the allegation of human rights abuse by the military is unproven. If that subtile lie will buy us time, space and favour, no problem. But we need to come to equity with clean hands. Right on the streets in Nigeria, the human rights records of the Nigerian military is rock-bottom-minus. From the days of the battle with the Niger Delta boys have we witnessed the spate of extra-judicial killings and executions by the military....... 4. PMB and his crew most like took a smart approach to it. If Jonathan failed to address the Leahy Law's blockage of our procurement of weapons, it's most likely due to the fault of his inexperienced analysts. Buying weapons from America and Israel is a quick way to shoreup ones milatary capabilities, training, intelligence and what have your. The "Russiaesque "Black market GEJ's government resorted to was very costly. Stelvin101: |

Yinka Odumakin is a crass Bigot.....He claims to pursue "Yoruba Agenda", but his ethnic jaundiced view has killed his career as a social crusader and a potential leader. This is someone who should have been in Garba Sheu's position had he been patient, accomodating, pragmatic and realistic...... nduchucks: |
Azuka Onwuka is economical with facts in his writeup 1. Radio Biafra reached her all time peak in the aftermath of PMB's ascendancy. It got to a point well meaning Nigerians castigated the government for not putting the radio under check or arresting the promoters. From Joe Igokwe to Abike Dabiri to Ben Bruce even the South East governor's forum. So will it not be a demonstration of irresponsibility if the FG did nothing? 2. On the issue of Buhari visiting South East and whatnot, it's relative. On the scheme of things, such views may be the majority opinions of South Easterners and not Nigeria. Pray tell, what will be the difference. Buhari campaigned meticulously in the South East, yet the region did not vote for him. So what will be the impetus to curry their favour at this time. They are even one of the least voting blocks....... 3. PMB will not play a defensive game even all odds favour him on the offensive. Why would he want to prove to the South Easterners that he's not an islamist on the South Easterner's terms? I mean, does it mean visiting South East and giving unmerited appointments just to fulfil the whims of some South Easterns make him the less alleged "islamist", when he can rubbish the false impression with good governance? 4. Azuka is arguing like an infant. What's so grevious about not going to Uniport? Will the second Niger bridge visit be a performance benchmark on PMB's ratings especially with South Easterners or will it make him anymore credible? Meanwhile, looking at the writeup, Azuka should probably declare his forte. Is it the issue of Radio Biafra, or his alleged lopsided appointments of PMB, because the South East are not prominent on the top appointments? |
I don't understand what you're on about and why join me......you're unclear, and confusing..... diplomat51: |
Bros, I was hoping that you will understand that this is about serious state diplomatic issues and not some villagers' aspiration to travel to America......It is difficult discussing this with you...... Christonjnr: |
Bros, so the issue for you is who has been to the US before? Christonjnr: |
Thanks Bro...... TalkDirect: |
TalkDirect:You're right..but remember I've laid the assumption that the OP is a newbie and needs a lot of learning. If you check my reactions to the OP was more on the side of advice and not castigation. It is critical to note that the OP must have been taken by emotion when he wrote the piece and as such we should excuse some failings on what he left out or what he insinuated. Nothing bad in simply asking him for clarifications |
OK pardon my tone and choice of words......... But 2 lessons for you 1. It's better you seek clarification from the OP on grey areas rather than hasty and faulty judgement. 2. The Deeper-lifish jugdement is a rape on basic intelligence ....but Bros, while I try to find the motor-park..., dont you think you missed some classes? ![]() carzola: |
@OP, Few more tots, When next you go for interview, please note that you can also ask the interviewer questions and at anytime during the interview. So if he asks where do you live? You answer. Then you go like this, "I crave your indulgence to ask, why are you interested in where I live? I was of the impression that you have taken my address from my CV. You asking now make concerned. Do you mind me asking, how where I live affects or enhances my chances of securing this job?" The kind of answer he gives you will tell you if it's a company's policy drive or he was just trying to ridicule you. If it's the latter, you can politely tell him you take exception to it and write a protest letter to the company. Let me tell you another story. My sister and I wanted to buy a KLM air tickets (I am disposed to mentioning the airline because it turned out good) for our Dad....... the story was, we saw cheap ticket on a Saturday evening and paid, then on Monday I received a phone call that I paid the wrong amount because payment made on Saturday will only reflect in their books, and as at Monday the price has changed. I argued that such policy was not stated on their website and wondered why they did not disable card payment for weekends.......now this man was physching me to pay the difference .....then phone cut. I now called back, and this rude woman picked the phone. I told her I was discussion with another man and that she should transfer me to him, she said since I could not remember his name, she can as well address my issue. When I explained to her the discussion I have been having with the other customer care guy, then she went off and said there's nothing she (as well KLM) can do about it. I reiterated my earlier argument asking why they will take my card payment on Saturday only to be told different on Monday. then I set her off, the loose canon just went on........... she ended by telling me something like, that's my business. If I knew I wanted to benefit from promo, why didn't I do it earlier? She ended with a threat that If I want the ticket not cancelled, I should pay the difference.......I was stupefied and dumbfounded. I thought I was dreaming, I looked at my hand receiver like "see me see trouble......" So I drew my keyboard closer, composed an email to KLM and reported the woman, narrating what transpired, the time of the call, my initial ticket number and all the evidence. I challenged them that since all their customer-related calls are recorded, they should play it and verify my claims. I told them to refund my money back into my card. I also told them to expect to hear from my lawyers, that I will push the case to the limit..... Then like 2hrs later I saw a call from KLM, I refused to pick it. After many futile attempt to get me, then I received a call from my Dad, who never knew what transpired. Funnily enough I had left my Dad's phone number as the alternate number on the details I filled. My Dad now told me the Country Head of Sales (or something of the sort) had called him, explained the situation, begged him and told him to appeal to me. So when KLM now called me back afterwards, I picked and spoke to the guy. He apologized and told me that he had looked into my case and agreed on the merit of my claims. And that as we speak, he had instructed they reinstate the ticket and I need not pay any extra........ OP, people can only intimidate you if you let them. If in doubt, clarify. If really they are, take exception. |
carzola:Bros, One big lesson I have learnt over the years, like in this case, is to keep to the FACTS of the case. Since he did not mention Oh-ha that Deeper-life people are bad, then you need not rewrite his story or meaning. It could be a contextual thing. For example, he could have done something else, that put off the supposed Deeper-life man(what if he wore earrings to the interview, and the interview finds it offensive, showing it in his reaction)? "Deeper-Life Member" could be the OPs contextual generalized term for someone looking pious and holy-ish...... When you grow up, you will understand something about life. Jumping into conclusions like this is beyond immature, it sparks a comprehension deficit. |
Bros mindworx, Think you need to cut this guy some slack. You were too harsh on him. 1. If he scaled all levels up to the final level, then it counts for something and not the dumbo you're trying to make him look like 2. It's my impression this guy is a fresher, and should not be crucified for some experience he couldn't have gotten. We can engage him on the terms of him being new to the job market 3. I find it absurd that you'll tell him "this was probably the only selling point you took there. If you don't have the stuff he needs, nice hair won't sell him anything". This is condescending are uncalled for....You were not at the interview and cannot make judgements simply based on his emotion-laden piece Truth is a lot of things goes into hiring and yes, in many cases, candidates do all the right things yet don't fit into the profile. Truth is the said "Deeper-life" man might have been unnecessarily harsh, maybe his bad day or maybe simply a bad interviewer @OP, these are my tots 1. When you go for interviews, just relax and enjoy the experience. Don't put so much into it like your life depends on it. At this stage in your life, there are many more interviews you'll still do 2. I went for an interview in my early days, I was in IT then. So they asked me if I knew any Deployment tool and I told the truth and answered in the negative. These was after I've answered every questions that had to do with ITSM. Then this "Idiot" on the panel just went off as if I took his girlfriend that how can I not know any deployment tool? I answered that my company's policy on deployment had moved to web-based and our ERP solutions are web-based on the client side, regardless of the location. For the purpose of those not IT-aware, this is a simple case of choices; option A or B. This guy was crucifying me for something I don't have experience in and I sincerely declared. If I were 2-3years older in the industry, I would have simply stood up and tell him to FVCK OFF. 3. Even if the job interview went well, it is not the impression you get when you leave that translate into you getting the job. My wife went for an interview and they tacitly implied to her to expect to start the next week. If that next week will come tomorrow......... another case , she went for another and came back home looking a little depressed. She said she didn't like the fact that she was catching her breath to answer some question.......alas she got the job 4. I went for an interview with @ Telco in 2006. It went so well that it turned to a gysting session. They were so impressed with my performance. The HR manager even escorted me to the elevator saying "Mr. XX, expect to hear from us by Thursday........" I waited and didn't hear from them. I called my contact, who told me that it was a tough competition between 3 candidates and I was one of them. The company decided to go for the guy with a Big 4 experience, unfortunately I never worked in any consulting firm. At any rate these are simply learning experiences. You will go through thougher ones and it's your ability to plan and think of this like a chess game, plan your moves, be confident, be prepared and most of all, relax while you're there. It's your calm mien that could count. mindworx: |
TalkDirect:No wonder some of you struggle with comprehension. Where did the OP say Deeper Life people are bad?carzola: This OP should be banned for religious discrimination, he just came here to tell us that '' DEEPER LIFE '' people are bad.I agree with you. I wonder what being a Deeperlifer has to do with OP's story. Is it a kind of stigmatization? I just wonder. |

olapluto:" Ethical User, ethicalUser: :You lie brother. Those in Ladipo were warned. I posted a news item from OCTOBER 2014 when the traders were 'VOWING' not to move. Moreso, compensation has not been paid to traders as you mentioned. Compensation has not been paid to Ajelogo market evictees in 5years. It depends on your stand. The easiest way to get compensation is if you actually own the property and you have documents to prove it. Secondly if you have representatives that would have taken the reality early enough and commenced engagement with the government ahead of time, then compensation can come to live. I state this so that others in market can learn. Once government gives you notice of planned demolishon, you need to weigh your chances and take actions that will not put you at the loosing end of the stick. If you choose to resist, you end up fight 2-3 battles and that can spread over 10 years. |
My Brother, I can't but agree with you more. Let me give you a classic example. My wife and I lost our investment worth over 7million Naira in Ajelogo Market in 2010. If anybody was familiar with that market they will remember an Ice factory that was the hub of ice-blocks, Cold room services, bulk sales of Pure and bottled water.....all gone. The truth is that Ajelogo market was a reclaimed land by the market association who were displaced from Daleko by the FG in the early 80s. The LSG suddenly woke up that the area was actually marked for Lagos HOMS and they threw us out. Truth is we were given a 6weeks notice. In reality, no matter the notice, the other parties will be disgruntled. If you give too long notice, markters will go secure injunction. If it's too short, they complain. In Ajelogo, we're in and out of court, talking about settlement. This is because we had a Court judgment, when Jakande wanted to do same, that stipulates that should LSG takes over the land, we should be compensated to the values worth of the property. The Igbos in Ladipo should try understand if they have a locus. If they rented the place, then they have lost out entirely. Another point is that Lagos State will continue to pursue the 2025 development plan. What this means for markets is that it will be strictly controlled. You can't situate markets just anywhere anymore. Government will seek to maintain stronger part-ownership of all markets, dilute the market unions and further privatize it. Tejuoso will be the model of Lagos Mid-level Markets and Aswani will be the model of the Basic-Level markets. Lapido's case is going to be complex. The FG via SON and LSG will begin to squeeze the noozzle on the quality-checks on spare-parts sold in designated markets. ASPANDA is another case in the cooler. The Lagos Land ownership laws puts them at a disadvantage. Alaba is another case in waiting. That market will be closed down by the FG itself, if they do not check the wanton disregard for copyright laws./ olapluto: |

I wonder why some of you demonstrate crass ignorance and do so bravely......stay off what you know nothing about.... 1. This NNPC is not a quoted company. It is a combination of the regulator, the government intermediation agent, holding companies of all government subsidiaries. 2. NNPC's had spent the projected cost in cash-call ahead. It was captured in Federal budget, It was spent many months ago, NNPC did not go borrowing to fund Cash-call, In fact lately NNPC is tacitly asking companies to fund Cash-Call and back it out of sales. 3. NNPC has a small E & P company, NPDC, and it is one of the small time companies who just crossed over 100k bopd. NNPC hardly participate in drilling operations as they are not the operators of the JV Assets, IOCs do. 4. In some cases, Sales from Crude is done by the trading arm of NNPC and nets out charges and what is accruable to the IOCs. So it's the net that enters into government coffers Spin it as you want. Almost 50% unaccounted revenue is criminal SergeAlain: |
Bro, You cannot not justify the unjustifiable and ignorantly doing so is even worse. 1. The fiscal regimes in the Oil and Gas Business is not only Joint Venture, so your cash-call arguement is flawed. 2. The average cost per barrel for Shell, Chevron, Mobil etc had always averaged a -$10. So spin it any how, average overhead cost cannot account for a whooping 4trillion 3. On PSC alone, government take is 70%, after Royalties and taxes. Government don't invest a kobo on PSC. Government starts collecting free money even from contract signing stage. 4. This is talking about moneies from Crude sales accruable to government. It is net of all the costs your talking about. Even at JV, government had paid the cash-call upfront i.e as at the time of drilling operations. You don't deduct cash-call as overheads from crude oil sales, and not without the approval of CBN. 5. These are the thing SLS was shouting to the high heavens back then that GEJ crucified him. netizenbuzz: |
Of all the stupidity I read on NL yours is the icing on the cake? Cost of doing business? you will have sounded more like a regular TANoid, by saying somthing simply stupid, and it would simply pass. This line of yours is so idiotic, your Business studies teacher should slap you atlwireles: |
Bros, You will do well to stop reporting falsehood as facts. 1. That fact is that work commenced on that road 3years ago. 2. To make to the planned expansion of the road, properties that did not conform to the natural set-back laws was marked for demolishing. 3. The owners of those residents took the Lagos State government to court and got an injunction stopping it. 4. Fashola put a stop on the project, pending the completion of the court case 5. Some other resident paid Fashola visit to appeal to him to complete the road. He told them he's hands-tied as the injunction must either be lifted or the withdraw the court case and negotiate 6. These Landlords refused, hence the stalemate before elections Minet16: |
