It will be a futile effort to engage you in any debate whatsoever. I can see that you reasoning and comprehension capacity is pretty questionable. so long..... anonimi: I can see you are really on fire to defend your paymasters in the Association of Conmen in Nigeria (ACN). Let me respond very briefly to your wayo, wayo (very characteristic of ACN propagandists) replies. |
...OMG!!! this is a crying shame to the credibility of this forum......is this reasoning ![]() aguiyi: i expected fashola to advocate the manufacture and use of less harmful ones. |
Unfortunately statistical analysis is dangerous for those who cant interpret them..... Ngwakwe: I thought the Okada ban only covers less than 20% of entire Lagos State Roads. |
Your attempt at sounding credible even makes you sillier...... You make assertion on something you're yet to confirm? and you pass it to the forum as fact? you must be a joke. So out of all the many innovative business ventures the Lagos State first lady wants to do, getting the state to ban Okada so she can import hers sound logical to you? are you that juvenile in your thinking?
The thing many Lagosians don't even know is that this Okada ban thingy is a SHAM. Its corruption legalised by Fashola and his cronies! Are you aware the policies states, 200cc AND ABOVE bikes can ply these routes. I know a fellow who bought a "new 200cc bike" just a few months after he bought the type that was banned! He said this new bike is government sponsored (I haven't confirmed that). He categorically said its Lagos first lady that is importing the bikes. Yes, we may not be able to confirm who is importing the bike, but my real concern was that I thought they were getting the bikes off the road because its a menance but NO!, they are giving these guys FASTER bikes!!! My conclusion then is that it was all to create revenue like most of Fashola's other policies!
|
Madam, If you own private motorcycle less than 200cc, it is not allowed on those roads. Ngwakwe: If I own a Private Motorcycle, can I ride it at will as Private Jeep Owners? |
see my reaction below anonimi: 1. * Astronomical increase in LASU fees without providing viable technical schools - Lies. There have been standard technical schools in Lagos state before you were born and there have been lots of newly found ones by Fashola's government. Besides, is it compulsory you must go to LASU, let alone got to university? I wonder the direct nexus between LASU and techical schools as they both address different things. Since most of you eastern brothers are the ones having headache over LASU fees, you need not travel to Lagos. Find yourselves into IMSU, ESUT etc |
There is no "YET Gruadual approach" when lives and properties are concerned. Apart from the fact that you are at liberty to exercise your franchise the way you please, If you find it difficult to abide by stated laws of a place, then watch from a distance..... What "yet gradual approach" should he deploy at the rate people are disregading building regulations, where most set-back have been turned into shops, gross deviation from building approved plans and disregard for safety. Did the business man that stored firecrackers in the building obey the saftey standards with regards to storage of combustible device? even the convergence of the sunlight rays through a glass window could have lit those fire crackers...... manny4life: There are so many ways to kill a bird without actually using a sling, gun or what have you. There are different YET gradual approach to achieving same result |
Cheap...... 1. Cut the crap mister. 2. When the governor is addressing safety issues and the need to stick to regulations that will protect the lives of you and I, the governor will not "just face rescue efforts". 3. When you bring unrelated example to make a point, I wonder how you make sense. About 15 other houses affected by the impact of this explosion will have their house pulled down to safe guard other lives. If you were in the position of one of the owners of the 15 properties and you were legit, you will be happy that someone that did something illegal will affect you that badly? 4. Mr. Ayooluwapo, there is a yoruba adage that says "when you're being dragged into the bush path, fight your way back to the road way". If Aturu is not making sense (albeit for his own selfish gains) you mean you will sheepishly just follow suit? ayooluwapo: Some months before d US elections a shooting occurred and Romney tried to be political with d shooting, what happened a parent cautioned him not to politicize his son's death. What I am saying is dis d governor should have just faced d rescue effort and not bring politics or try to score cheap points. The government has failed us over and over again. Aturu ur criticisms are very welcomed, keep them(politicians) in check |
You just type falacies at will thelastPope: Fashola's stup1d policies have killed more people than okada will ever kill in ten years. And for the record, he is anti masses. No one labelled him so, he made himself so. He is totally out of touch with the people. |
My tots exactly..... lakesider: this aturu guy is looking for cheap popularity |
@thelastPope 1. This is the begining of many of the faulty logic and lots of lies you posit here. You're simply getting overtly sentimental and I dare add that at the expense of engaging reasoning. 2. While not taking the perogative and right to criticize virtually everything an individual disagrees with; and in Fashola's case, be it destructive criticizm, It is share thoughtlessness not to look at the value of the issue in focus and jump into unncessary conjecture, just because Bamidele Aturu(who in this case to me missed the essence or Fashola's statement and position)did same 3. There is no issue with the Okada ban. It's done and dusted. It is only on NL that you guys cry where there are practally none on the streets of Lagos. Okada riders have moved.....the essense of enforcing this laws is not for you with fingers not connected to the brain on NL. It is for we Lagos residents and our collective well being. 4. Your lame definition of authoritarian is as putrid as you laid it there. It's simple, If you believe Fashola is acting to know more of the problems of Lagosian than they do, then vote against him in the next election. But let it not be lost on you and other misguided folks that leadership is put in place for order, for safety of lives and property and coordination of collective well being of the people. I wonder what is more important, a Lagos of chaos, just because some greener pasture seekers must survive? 5. thelastPope: Aturu has delivered a masterpiece here! This is what some of us have been saying all along. Every Nigerian politician should be subjected to the same standard of criticism. But somehow, the opposition, especially the ACN, somehow believe they are immune to criticism and accountability. When we raise any Fashola threads, they come in their multiple pseudo names to insult us. They don't even address the topic. They quickly turn the thread into a tribal bashing thread! |
@Paul John 1. Identification of a school student apart from each other may not be a priority above the objective of the initiative. Besides it is well known that students who go out to perpertrate illegal acts put off their uniforms..... 2. The Uniform looks pretty smart. 3. I guess it also a system where the Uniform are produced and sown in the state serves to boost commerce Paul John: Good initiative. |
![]() This Uduage lap dog, nice try. But what baffles me is your capacity to reason. Apart from splashing few and somewhat not to relevant pictures, It seems you don;t even know what good governance and building of a society is, else Uduagan will be the last person to be listed. For God's sakes I visit Delta State freqently (our base office is in Warri) and Delta State should probably be listed as perfect example of how a state should not be governed..... From Ibori to Uduagan, it's crying shame to have these two men waste a state. UYCO: transport |
May be when Innoson beging to manufacture the Tata equivalent......... I share the sentiment that Lagos should explore buying Innoson's buses. If those Innoson's buses can last 3-5years then it will be a good deal. I hope the cost of acqusition is less than the Indian Tata, cos cost of manufacturing in Nigeria may not be cheap
Why purchase Tata buses and not Innoson brand? I wan die with LAFF (IWDWL) ypzilanti: FG retaliates by purchasing 30 more private jets for presidential fleet. |

It is possibe. Ahmadu Bellow way as I have explained had a blockage...... besides we've seen the heavy flooding in US states between 2011 to 2012...should we attribute that to "chaos in govt" ![]() Symphony007: ahmadu bello way, victoria island is below sea level? And how comes the hudson river does'nt flood lower manhattan since according to your geographical knowledge it's suppose to be below sea level. |
@Symphony007 1. It is very clear that you're just arguing blindly, ignorantly and your "agidi" is ridiculous 2. You don't live in Nigeria, obviously, yet you want to make factual statements and you are not equipped with information 3. Just to let you know, my office is in VI, so I can tell you the story of the topography, infrastructure and geography of VI 4. It is rediculus that you try to draw a nexus between the flooding of VI roads with nature of the roads. It is share ignorance you recklessly displayed. Virtually all the major streets in VI have very good and new roads. These roads have been constructed both by the Lagos State government and the private sector. The telecoms companies supported Lagos in reconstructed Saka Tinubu, Eko Hotel assited in reconstructing Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Shoprite constructed many streets on Oniru, GTBank, UBA and some banks constructed Oyin jolayemi, Zenith Bank Constructed Ajose Adeogun..... even my company reconstructed the street where our corporate head office resides in. Please if anybody is deceiving you, try not to deceive yourself. 5. Fact is that the major flooding experience regularly in Lagos as with many parts of the world is as a result of the effects of the global warming, Lagos being under the Sea-level so we can only manage it. It is still work in progress as well as we need to get our drainage system right. But let's paint some pictures clearly. The flooding on Ahmadu Bello way had virtually disappeared as the root cause was discovered. There was a massive blockage in the channel at the Naval Dockyard and It took the ingenuity of a Director General(who is late now )in the ministry of environment to solve the problem. This man had the network diagram of the proposed drainage system dating back as fair as 1940s. They were able to trace the blockage to the NAval Dockyard. It also took the assistance of Ilaje divers to go deep into the water to go remove the blockage. Do you know that residents of Ahmadu Bello way and adjoning environs wrote a commendation letter to the ministry of environment for the feat. 6. I don't know what you mean by "due to chaos in govt"....but this statement is lame. 7. I am not aware that Lagos State goverment declared public holiday because of flood....are you for real ?8. When you make frivolous statements, you'd better back it up with veritable facts. Where did you get your "low educated work force" idea of Lagos from? 9. A city like Abia have the same tax rate like Lagos Mr. Man, your share ignorance is beffudling. The basis of tax rates and stuffs have their root in the state tax laws. Whatever reasons they adduce to it, if you're not satisfied, then head to court.10. Please stop peddling stupid and ridiculous lies. THERE IS NO TOUT COLLECTING TAXES ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT . Internally Generated Revenue is one of the biggest sources of income for the state government and you think they will leave that to touts It will be unbelievable that you can't figure that out. There are standard ways Lagos State government collect their taxes and revenues. There are state approved auditors and consultants that assist in this regard. While I'm not even interested in the alledged BBC documentary, which I suspect you did not understand, "Touts" could be collecting their Union revenues, that has nothing to do with the state governmentSymphony007: that was quite a lovely write up but ridden with massive loopholes. You claim 70% of lagos has good roads? Why does victoria island, home to many multinationals get flooded at the slightest rain fall? I guess you've forgotten so soon the rainfall of about a year ago when lagos was almost submerged in water and due to the choas the govt. Had to declare a public holiday the following day. Also you i never said lagos did'nt have an educated work force they do. But it's low. And most of them unqualified. Your corporate tax explanation was just all over the place because i need u to explain to me why a city like abia will have the same tax rate as lagos, abuja or port harcourt. Lastly you did'nt address the tout tax collectors who are killing small buisnesses all over the city of lagos. |
Lots of falacies and for someone who alluded to inadequate educated workforce.....what an irony veraponpo: Bros . You dont know much about what you are saying. |
Yet some people who have never been to Osun State want us to believe that Aregbesola is "religious" intolerant...... babapupa: This is a clear demonstration of religious unity, harmony and tolerance the SW is known for coming from Muslim governors in the SW as we've seen with Fashola and his Christmas light festival in lagos state and Ogbeni and his beautiful Christmas display in osun. |
Jehovah, Amadioha, Sango, Ogun etc go fire UDUAGHAN and Co....This is the same thing they do here (very poor actually) for tens of millions of Naira, at the expense of poor tax-payers.... Bunch of Baskards!!!!! Bascallywags!!! PEACE...
|
@topazjosh, 1. I think it was Tinubu that condemned the Mimiko's "Mega Schools" projects during the election campaign 2. you should understand that during campaign, the opposition will all the time poopoo your achievements. Tinubu himself actually started this initiative with Milenium School.... 3. Fact is both the Mimiko's Mega schools and Aregbesola's Model Schools are fantastic achievements. These Models is recommended to EVERY State and the Federal government SPEB's school. topazjosh: Gud move by rauf, buh wat else can I call dis man hypocrite? or he is jus advertisin his party durin the last govnorship election, can still rmber how a c n diss mimiko for building such school (1000 capacity)for 600 million buh am happy mr rauf now reckon wit such initiative, same thing with neigbourhood markets allover the state,am sure mr rauf now erect one in osogbo even ogun too, mother & child now replicated in ekiti, ogun and oyo with same safe motherhood initiative, well am just happy now that they are duplicatin gud thinz that's all we need, buh I actually dislike hypocrite. |
@babyosisi, 1. I think you need to put the numbers in propoer perspective. The 900 still fufils the optimum of standard students/teacher ratio of 1:25-30. 2. I transfered my studentship from Federal Government College Ogbomoso to Lagos State Model College Meiran in 1989 and I both schools the class number was then 30 or less. 3. I think in terms of cost/benefit pov, lettting more students have access and share the standard (world class facilities), It is most likely wise for Osun State to consolidate her resources in a central, well stocked, standard facilities schools like these as against the nonsesen mushroom SPEB schools that look like poultry challets. 4. Recall that even the Senate committee on education led by Senator Uche Chukwumerije ("Fujimerenge" has commended the education strategy and implementation in Osun state and also recommended it as model for all other states.....babyosisi: Why should one school house up to 900 children |
@ Johnpaul, I will really need to take you on......as I want you to clarify truthfully the following; 1. Please can you tell the whole forum, truthfully, how Aregbesola has demonstrated being a religious extremist. 2. What are the things he has done (and I emphasise TRUTHFULLY) to be tagged a religious extremist. Please note that I am from Osun State (Oba-Osogbo specifically) and I am a christian. I travel home somewhat frequently..... I sincerely hope we set the records straight and not pepertuate lies and falsehood. Johnpaul88: Very good of the governor to be thinking forward. I'm not a Yoruba man , but i celebrate success and hard work towards improvement anywhere i see it. I really like Nigeria to move forward and meet up with the other ever improving countries all over the world. |
....well I take no responsibilty for you inability to reason..... pro01: What exactly is your point (assuming you have any), in the context of the issue being discussed here? Some of you are so detached from reality to the extent that it is unbelievable. |
First off I think, regardless of how we spin it, I think it is both honorable and commendible that the senior officers left you off the hook on his discretion. It is also very good that you stood your ground and took the case to the senior officer..... These aside, the traffic laws are still valid, beneficial to us all. We need to collectively build the system. It is true that ignorance is not an excuse. We cannot flout laws and claim ignorance or hardship to the masses......... |

Is chieftaincy title a must? Besides there are post-humous awards given, so the dead's name is not wiped out. But pray tell, how is a Chieftiancy title a well-deserved honour to a serving civil servant, commissioner, special assistant etc? are they not doing the job they are paid for ? The wisdom in this move is that, if the intended recipients so deserves the award, getting it after the tenure is a mark that it was in recognition of what he did serving the state. We know that may at times, these awards and chieftaincies are given by Kings who have also taken gratifications. I mean wtf is "Oluomo of Igbajoland" (se oye tan ni )floriana: What if the title is well deserved and the intended recipient while waiting to retire dies shortly before retirement. Does it mean he will have to go to the grave without taking along his due chieftaincy title? |
The same thing was said about Yar' Adua, till his vegetable and clinically brain-dead body was brought back. The sensible thing to do is to show him talk to the Enugu state people wherever he is..... |
@Madam ffo, Let's not denigrade a church...and for what we don't have a clear picture of. For starters, the church is an Anglican church and not catholic. I'm also trying to establish if it was actually a wedding or marriage blessing, and also if Yetunde is a newly wed. ffo: Which "church" will conduct a white wedding after 3 kids if not Catholic? |

has commended the education strategy and implementation in Osun state and also recommended it as model for all other states.....
